Fitz was sitting in his office relaxing. He had just finished his daily briefings, and he had a few moments to himself before his busy day began.

It allowed him time to reflect. It had been a busy couple of months for not only his administration, but his family. Although he was in his second term it felt like his first. His first term had been riddled with scandal, a public divorce, and his near-death experience. He had to admit that it was difficult to recover from the shooting, but it was worth it all because he got to have the one thing he loved as much as his children and that was his wife.

Thinking about his wife made him smile. With her help, he had delivered one of the most powerful SOTU addresses the country has heard in recent years. He immediately went to work right after the address, and several bills were signed into law. His approval ratings were through the roof, but there was no surprise that his wife's numbers were even better.

As promised once she nursed the children back to health and she hit the ground running. With grace and poise she began to introduce her platform. First, she joined his committee on the Arts and Humanities to make sure that the arts were not lost in the school system. She had visited several schools with actress Kerry Washington, and they were a hit. The public loved seeing a down to earth First Lady who had no problem dancing and singing with the children.

To his surprise, she sat down, and did a PSA to shed light on post-partum depression. The country was surprised to learn that their First Lady had dealt with something that happens to so many women, and if she could get through it then they could too. Fitz was shocked when she sent him the video. After watching it he cleared his schedule, and he spent the afternoon ravishing his wife.

She had teamed up with Karen to start a program that spread awareness on teenage bullying especially on social media. They had created a couple of videos enlisting celebrities to join in on the cause, and had surprised a couple of schools with visits.

He didn't think his wife could get any more popular, but he was wrong.

The biggest project she was working on right now was called "Females Can Do It Too". She wanted all females of all ages to have a voice, and a seat at the table.

He knew it was just the beginning for them. For the first time, he felt like he was really making a difference as the President of the United States.

His phone rang. It was time to get back to work.

Olivia thanked her hair & makeup team for a job well done. She was all glammed up for the evening. All she had to do now was step in her gown. Tonight, was the first State Dinner of Fitz's second term in office. It was the first one that she had planned from start to finish as First Lady. She had to admit that she enjoyed it more than she thought she would.

It probably had a lot to do with her husband. Just thinking about him made her smile. This was the life that she had fought for so long. She was so worried about being ornamental like Mellie that she forgot to think about why Fitz kept Mellie at arm's length.

Fitz made her promise him that if he won a second term that she would define her role as First Lady of the United States. He didn't care about previous administrations. He made sure that she had a seat at the table, and an office in the West Wing.

As soon as the kids were healthy she hit the ground running, and she was surprised with how successful she was thus far. She used her contacts as a crisis manager to get people on board, and they were all too willing to help. Whether it be with money, time, or their status.

She was also happy that Stephen was back in town. His marriage to Georgia had not worked out, and after some discussion they decided that Stephen would run OPA until Fitz was done in office. Huck would assist him, and the rest of the team would help including Olivia in an unofficial capacity.

Olivia stepped into her walk-in closet. Her wardrobe was vastly different now. There were lots of dresses, gowns, and skirt suits in her closet. She knew her husband loved to see her in a dress. It did something to him, but it also made her more approachable. She still had her signature pants suit when she had to show them that she belonged at the table.

Olivia was stepping into her evening gown when Fitz walked into her closet. She looked up at her husband who was looking sexy as hell in his Brooks Brother tuxedo.

This is what he wanted his life to be like as President of the United States. He had a partner that was there for him in good times and bad. She never judged, and although she was smarter than him she never tried to upstage him.

Fitz smiled, "You look stunning Mrs. Grant!"

"Why thank you Mr. President..."

"Livvie, you can't say that to me knowing we have to be downstairs in a few to greet the Prince and his girlfriend."

Olivia laughed, "Prince Harry is a sweetheart."

Fitz shrugged his shoulders, "It sounds like I have some competition."

"Never. I have the President of the United States. I am not downgrading. Besides I think he is really in love with Megan. His bad boy days are over."

"That is good to know. I take it everything is set for the Invictus Games."

Fitz got quiet. She was headed to the opening games with Prince Harry in two days, and it would be the first trip she was taking solo as First Lady without the kids. Since the shooting, they hadn't been apart too much, and it was him that was usually traveling. He was going to miss her presence.

"Don't give me that look Mister. I will only be gone for three days."

"I know. I am just going to miss you. That's all."

"I am going to miss you too. I don't remember how we used to do weeks and months apart from one another."

"Me either, and I never want to experience that again."

He walked over to her, and zipped her gown before wrapping his arms around her, "Are you ready for tonight?"

"As ready as we can be. Although it really doesn't matter, because we did this our way. I am happy with that."

Fitz nodded, "You would tell me if all of this got to be too much. You would tell me if you were no longer happy."

She waited until he snapped her necklace on before turning around. She looked her husband in the eyes, "Fitz, I have never been happier than I am at this moment. Despite my misgivings about being First Lady I love the job, and I am doing it my way. I enjoy helping you when needed. Most importantly I am happy being a wife and mother. As long as we remain a team then I am fine."

He leaned down and kissed his wife, "Then let's do this."

The couple made their way downstairs to get ready to walk out. Olivia took a deep breath. This was new territory for her, and she was a little nervous. She also knew things were about to change for them once again.

When the door opened, and the couple walked out the cameras began to flash. Once the couple came in full view she could hear the murmurs. Why?

Well, because not only were they looking at how fashionable the First Lady was in her emerald Rubin Singer strapless fitted mermaid gown, but they were also paying attention to the small but noticeable bump. That's right the First Lady was once again pregnant.

The couple had known for about a month and a half, and after enjoying it for a while they shared it with the kids and their staff. Olivia wasn't showing very much so it was easy to conceal when she had appearances, and she was careful when she hugged people. Her bump had recently started to show, and after discussing it with Fitz they decided to let the public know at the State Dinner. A press release was also being sent out to confirm to the media that they were indeed seeing a bump.

A short time later Prince Harry and his girlfriend Meghan Markle arrived.

The couples greeted each other, and stood side by side for pictures. The media was eating this up. It was clear that the President and First Lady were in love with each other. The smiles were not forced.

After a few minutes, they headed inside. Typically, the couple doesn't speak to the press for a dinner, but Olivia knew that showing up to their first state dinner pregnant was causing waves. When she walked back inside she was happy to see her plan in motion.

Once they were finished with pictures they stepped inside where their children, and a reporter was waiting for them.

Olivia smiled at the young woman. Fitz & Olivia had talked, and they decided they were going to do something unorthodox. They also decided not so to share their decision. Down the road someone might pick up, and understand what they were doing but they would neither confirm or deny.

Olivia walked over to the woman, "Are your Courtnee Jones?"

"Yes ma'am. My station manager received a call that you were requesting for me to be here tonight for the State Dinner. As requested I did not bring a crew, but I do have my camerawoman with me."

Fitz, the kids, and their guests were walking ahead of them to give Olivia a moment with the journalist.

Olivia looked at her, "As you can tell I am expecting. The press corps outside has a ton of pictures, and a statement confirming that what they are seeing is indeed a baby bump. The reason that is because you are getting the exclusive first. The press secretary will answer questions tomorrow, but for the next hour I will allow you to tape footage. You can ask me five questions, and as long as they are not inappropriate I will answer them."

"May I ask why me Mrs. Grant?"

"Why not you. I was a young black woman trying to make it in my industry at one point. Everyone is expecting us to use Kimberly Mitchell, Noah Baker, or other well-known journalists. I will be going on a press tour soon so those who have been in the business for some time will get their chance. Nothing is wrong with them, but the President and I decided we want this administration to be different. What do you say?"

Courtnee smiled, "Let's do it..."

An hour later she had all the footage that she needed. She also asked her questions. She had heard that the First Lady was gracious woman, but to see her in action was amazing. She was kind and respectful, and although she knew how much power she held she never treated or talked down to anyone. It was clear that she loved her husband, and her children a lot. The country was obviously safe in their hands.

Courtnee ends the interview. Olivia turns to the young woman and smiles, "You have a bright future ahead of you, and I look forward to seeing your career grow in the coming years. We will see each other again."

She looks at her, "How are you so sure?"

Olivia shrugs, "Just a gut feeling…"

One of the kitchen staff walked over with two large bags filled with food.

Olivia smiled, "I know that you have to get back to the station to get ready for the evening news. I requested the chef make you and your team some dinner since you won't be able to sit down with us tonight. I will make sure you get to attend one before we leave office. Enjoy your dinner."

"You are too kind First Lady."

"It was my pleasure. Thank you again for doing the interview. I look forward to watching it tonight."

With that Olivia went to the dinner where her husband was patiently waiting for her. Everyone including the First Family had a blast. Everyone was in awe of the love and affection the couple showed. It was a drastic difference than what they had seen in the past with the President and Mellie.

Many of the guests also commented how warm Olivia was. Unlike Mellie she was more than willing to indulge their guests whether it was to talk or take pictures. For the first time the couple spent time just taking pictures with the guests.

Some wondered would Olivia not want to talk about being pregnant. They quickly learned that she was happy, and more than willing to talk. It was simply a family decision to hold off on the announcement so they could enjoy the moment amongst the five of them especially Ayden whom they found out was the happiest, because he was about to be a big brother

Later, that night the couple sat down to watch Courtnee's coverage. Olivia had to admit that she was impressed with the questions that Courtnee asked.

Courtnee's opening: Earlier tonight the country learned that the President and First Lady were expecting their second child together, and fourth child overall. Although they are considered the most powerful couple in the world and their life is an open book they managed to keep it a secret. I was able to spend some time with the First Lady tonight at the couple's first State Dinner in their second term. I was given the opportunity to talk with the First Lady tonight. Take a look.

The camera rolls, and you see Olivia fixing Fitz's bowtie, before they walk into their dinner. You see her talking to the kids, and how they have her full attention. Finally, you see her talking and laughing with the Prince and his girlfriend. Clearly, they are engaged in a lively banter. The tape moves to Courtnee & Olivia walking the hallway talking.

CJ: First Lady, thank you for taking the time to talk to me tonight. The country just found out tonight that you were expecting again. Why did you hide the pregnancy from the country?

OG: I didn't hide the pregnancy from the country. It was a decision that my husband and I made for our family. We understand we have a responsibility to the country. One that we both take seriously, but when all of this is over we will still be Fitzgerald & Olivia Grant. Our family has been through a lot. My husband was almost killed, and the children had to deal with almost losing their dad and with losing their biological mother. We needed some time to adjust before letting everyone else in. We understand that everyone won't be happy with our decision, but those who have a family understand that sometimes you must make decisions that won't always please everyone.

CJ: You have a pretty aggressive platform for a First Lady. Did you discuss your ideas with the President before you rolled them out?

OG: I discuss everything with my husband before I make a decision. Things that he can discuss with me he does. We are a team. Our goal for the next four years is to create real change for everyone, and not just a certain group of people. We sat down, and discussed how we wanted that to look, and hopefully four years from now we will have been successful, but only time could tell.

CJ: Although you married the President, and became the First Lady of the United States. How does it feel to be have gone on the campaign trail, and get reelected with your husband?

OG: I must admit that it feels like a huge honor. The country accepted me from the moment our relationship became public, but it felt good to go on the trail with my husband. I enjoyed spending time with the citizens, and listening to their needs. It was a great feeling to know that they wanted me with my husband for another four years.

CJ: Do you feel a sense of responsibility to speak for women & people of color?

OG: I do, but not for the reasons most people think. Even if I was not the First Lady of the United States I feel like I have a responsibility to use my voice. Not just for women and people of color, but all people. I am a woman, and a woman of color so I understand what it is like to be in those shoes. We all have a voice, but the reality is that some voices are louder than others. As First Lady mine is one of the loudest, and I plan to use it to do as much good as possible.

CJ: I know this question might sound off, but I hope you will answer it. There are a lot of girls and women out there who are dealing with being bullied, domestic violence, trying to get out of bad situations, and the list goes on. The country watched as you handled an almost tragic situation when the President was shot with such grace and poise. Can you offer any words of encouragement as you reflect on that time?

OG: (stops and take a moment to compose herself. The reporter assumed that Olivia was going to decline to answer when they stopped walking. Olivia takes a breath before speaking) I can honestly tell you that was one of the most difficult times of my life. Deep down I knew that I was in love with my husband, but it was forbidden. He belonged to another woman, and he also belonged to the country. Who was I to interfere? When I got the call, I didn't think. To be honest, I am not sure I thought about what I was doing for weeks even months. Once I knew who was responsible, and that I was responsible for two children I was on auto pilot. I didn't think about myself. Don't do that. (They share a brief laugh). When I did get a moment to think I realized one thing; the only person who could make me happy was me. I had denied myself that opportunity for far too long, and if there is one thing I would say is never deny yourself the opportunity to be happy. Don't let anyone dictate the outcome of your life. If you have toxic people or situations in your life get rid of them. It isn't always easy, but know for that one person or group of people who is tearing you down there are double or triple the amount of people willing to help you stand up, and be taller.

Fitz turned and looked at his wife. She looked at him nervously. She climbed in his lap, and he just held her as silent tears fell. He knew in that moment she was reliving the night he was shot. She was often worried about his mental health, but she never really talked about that time from her stand point.

Fitz wasn't sure if he was ready, but he needed to be because she deserved to have his support. She freely gave hers. He said, "Tell me…"

"I don't know where to start."

"From the beginning…"

"You have a long day tomorrow."

"I always have time for you."

"I was already an emotional wreck. I didn't feel anything when I broke it off with Jake. I was heartbroken that we were at such a bad place, and I had just said to myself that it couldn't get any worse. Then it did. I can't get that image of you being shot out of my head. It felt like time stopped. Before I could catch my breath things just started happening. I knew when I saw Tom that life as I knew it was never going to be the same. I wanted to fall apart, but when I saw the kids I couldn't. All those times I said I had no maternal instincts went out the door when they were in my arms. Then I went from grief to anger as I realized what had really happened. I have never acted on emotions before, because that is when you make mistakes until the night you were shot. Everything I did was based on emotions. I thought the image of you getting shot was the worst thing I had ever seen until I saw you in that hospital bed. You were so lifeless. My Fitz was gone. Your body was there, but you were gone."

Olivia couldn't hold it in anymore, and broke down. Her body was wracked with tears. He just held her, and told her to let it go.

When she calmed down she continued, "I knew in that moment I wanted you any way I could have you. I wanted a life with you even if that meant I was your care giver for the rest of my life. I hated myself for every moment I denied our love, and our chance to be together. Every scary moment I had during that time made me fall in love with you even more. I realized how much I loved the kids, and they were my responsibility. It didn't scare me all. Do you know what scared me?"

"What was that?"

"The thought of them ever leaving my home. My whole life was being the Olivia Pope. The most feared woman and crisis manager in the world. The woman who could bring grown men to their knees. The woman who wore the white hat. The night you were shot I realized all of it meant nothing to me."

She sat up and looked at him. "I finally understood what it means when people said if you want to see God laugh then make a plan. Do I hate that you were shot? With every fiber of my being I do, but you being shot didn't just bring us together it allowed me to find myself. It allowed me to truly find myself, and what was important in life. I wish that the kids and I didn't have those images in our head, but we do. Some days are better than others when it comes to that. It is easier not to talk about it, because it is the images that are tough. Not because I don't want to talk to you about it. I just prefer to thank God for the second chance that he gave me, and I will not waste it."

Fitz had a somber look on his face, and when Olivia caressed his cheek he looked away because he knew that she felt his wet cheeks.

Olivia forced her husband to look at her, "Why are you crying?"

He took a moment to compose his thoughts, "I know that it doesn't do any good to feel guilty about the situation, and over analyze it, but there are times like now that I can't help myself. The truth of the matter is that I was a coward, and I was weak. I knew from the moment we met that I was in love with you. That is why I wanted to fire you. Instead of following my heart. I knew that my kids were unhappy, but instead of stepping up and being the man and dad that you all needed me to be I was a punk. It almost cost me my life, and I have caused those that I really love pain that I can never repair. It wasn't worth it Liv."

Olivia shrugged her shoulders, "We will never know, but I think it was worth it. Was it painful at times for all of us? Sure, it was. Will we experience pain in the future from some of our past decisions? Probably, we will. I am okay with that now, because I have you. I have my husband by my side, and that is enough for me. I have my children, and our family. That is enough for me. Anything worth having is never easy. I am more than okay with that. I need you to do something for me."

"What is that?"

"Forgive yourself. Truthfully, the main reason that I am reluctant to talk to you is because I know the guilt that you feel. I understand it, but there are times when I can tell that it eats at you. I can see you reliving it in your eyes. We are about to do wonderful things not only in your administration, but in our life. We are having another baby. I only want to be on this ride with you baby. Even when the ride was rocky. Even when we got stuck and lost I wouldn't have weathered through this with anyone but you, because you are the only man that I have ever been in love with. More importantly you are the only man that has ever loved me faults and all."

Fitz looked at his wife, and no more words were needed. She pulled her gown over her head, and threw it on the floor. She pulled his pajama pants off, and threw those on the floor.

She leaned in and kissed him as she slid down on his cock.

Tonight, was one of those nights where they were making love physically, but it was more than a physical act.

They weren't speaking. They were barely making any noise. They had joined their hands above their heads, and their foreheads were touching as they met each other thrust for thrust. This physical act reminded them despite what occurred that tragic night they had made it. Fitz lived, and they were finally living their happily ever after. She was his First Lady, and she had a man that finally saw and accepted her for who she was.

They couldn't tell you how long they had been going at it. Tonight, wasn't about fulfilling a physical need. It was about showing each other they were there, and they made it. This was all emotional.

They had cum together as tears were falling down both of their faces, and when they finally caught their breaths they kept whispering how much they loved each other.

They decided to take a bath, and enjoy their final moments alone before Olivia headed out to the Invictus Games.

Two days later Olivia hit the world stage. Since she kept the pregnancy a secret she had planned a mini press tour that will not be announced ahead of time. She wanted the country to know that although they didn't immediately announce their pregnancy to them they still wanted them to include them.

Fun days were ahead, and although it would take her away from her husband and kids on and off for the next couple of weeks she knew this would be a fun time for her, and she hoped by the end of it the country would overlook their decision and be happy for them.

Olivia knew that she was a fashionable woman, and that as First Lady her wardrobe would be dissected. She still had not gotten use to the press spending hours talking about what she picked. It wasn't the worst thing in the world.

For opening ceremonies, she had selected a black/white Oscar de la Renta lace-applique fit-and-flare dress. She loved that the dress was comfortable, and there was plenty of breathing room for her growing baby.

While Olivia was at the games Fitz was back at the White House working, and taking care of the kids. Even though they had a lot of responsibilities it was important to them to be hands on parents.

Fitz had arranged for Ayden to be brought down after his first meeting. While Olivia was gone he was going to space his meetings out so that Ayden would only be with the nanny in the morning. The rest of the time he would be with him, his siblings, or one of his aunts or uncles.

Ayden walked in the door. When he saw his dad, he ran over to him, "Daddy…"

"Hey buddy how are you this morning?"

"I am good. Guess what daddy?"

"What buddy?"

"I talked to mommy this morning. Mommy let me talk to a man who used to fly helbicopter. He said he knew you, and you used to fly them too. Is that true daddy?"

"I did use to fly planes and helicopters son."

"Will you show me how daddy?"

Fitz pulled him onto his lap, "I can't show you while I am President, but I will make sure that you get to ride in a helicopter soon. It is called Marine One, and when daddy is done being President I will fly you myself."

Ayden grinned, "I wanna fly too daddy!"

"That shouldn't be a problem. Let me run it by your mom first though buddy."

"Okay daddy."

"You want a snack while you are working on your lesson."

"Yes"

Fitz looked at him.

He quickly said, "Sorry, yes sir…"

Fitz smiled, "Good job buddy."

Olivia wanted their kids to have manners, and respect their elders. She was determined not to raise entitled brats. Her words, and he agreed.

Fitz had wondered who Ayden was talking to when he was video chatting with his mom, but he got busy with work and helping his son with his lesson.

It was close to lunch time when his phone went off. He smiled when he saw his wife was calling via video chat.

He answered and saw her beautiful face, and all felt right with the world.

She smiled once she saw her husband's face. She was enjoying the games, and getting to meet and talk with the solders made her want to do more. She would worry about that later. She wanted to hear her husband's voice. She missed him.

"Hi Livvie!"

"Hi"

"You look stunning Mrs. Grant!"

"It is easy when you are happy."

"Lucky man."

She shrugged, "I am the lucky one."

They continued to talk for a few minutes. Ayden climbed in his daddy's lap, and told his mom what he learned today. She was really proud of him. Seeing her son made her remember the other reason for her call. She wanted her husband to catch up with an old friend.

Olivia said, "I met someone here who knows you."

"I heard from our son."

"Well, he is done for the day so I wanted you guys to have a moment to chat."

Olivia turned the camera, and she heard her husband gasp when he saw who it was.

"Marcus, is that you?"

"In the flesh. It wasn't enough for you to jump out of planes, and save my life. Now you decided to protect the country."

Fitz laughed, "You know me. I am a show off."

"That you are. I am glad to see your face man."

Fitz knew he was referring to the assassination attempt. "Me too man!"

"I am even happier to see you finally wised up, and married this woman beside me."

"She is my something special."

"She is a great First Lady. You have a lovely family, and your son is the cutest thing ever."

"Thanks man."

Fitz said, "Marcus it is really good seeing you although I am sad to see that you have been injured. Where are you working these days?"

Marcus shrugged his shoulders, "I was working for a security firm, but I have had to take a lot of time off for treatment. They need someone there to fulfill their client's needs."

Fitz looked at his wife. He knew that look, and he also knew that Marcus had probably already relayed the information to her. He knew what she wanted, but he loved that she respected him enough not to force his hand.

Fitz asked, "Are your married? Any children?"

"No sir. I thought once I finished my time I would be able to settle down. I didn't account for the bomb that would shatter my leg."

"Sorry man!"

"No need. We know what we signed up for. Hell, you almost lost your life trying to save mine."

Olivia looked at her husband. He knew he would have to tell her the story one day.

"Listen, between Liv & I we still have a couple positions in the administration that need to be filled. If you are interested then I can have my secretary schedule you an appointment, and we will take it from there."

"Are you serious man?"

Olivia walked over to him, "Marcus, I have enjoyed talking to you. I can tell by the tone of my husband's voice that he thinks highly of you. I think that you would be an asset to this administration."

He turned and looked at Olivia, "It would be an honor to serve this administration, but I am not sure that I am worthy."

Fitz asked, "Why would you think that Marcus?"

"Sir, I already owe you so much. I feel like it should be me offering you something."

"I think my wife and I would agree that you almost losing your life for this country was payment enough. Besides when I served I knew what I was getting into. It wasn't an option not to bring you out alive. All I kept thinking about was that last call you made to your mom and sister. I wasn't ready for it to be the last one."

Marcus nodded, "Thank you, and I will call and schedule an appointment."

"Good luck on your competition. Bring home the gold."

"Thanks, that the plan sir."

The rest of the games went well. Olivia enjoyed her time with the Prince. They visited several organizations that helped disabled veterans, and their families.

Olivia missed her family. She was ready to get back to them. She was amazed that her husband who was the President of the United States was sending her all these videos of him with the kids.

She expected him to use the nanny more with her gone, but when she talked with Karen and Jerry they said the nanny was only with Ayden in the morning. He had a couple of unplanned emergencies that came up, but between them and their family they took care of Ayden. She could tell by the third day that he hadn't gotten a lot of sleep, but he still made sure their kids were taken care of.

She had to admit that as she sat on the plane, and put her hand on her small bump she fell in love with her husband and father of her children all over again. She remembered when he said repeatedly that he would always choose her. That he would also be there for her, and their children. He had always been a man of his word to the country. It felt good to know that he kept his word to his family too.

She ended up getting home late. When she made it to the Residence she went to check on the kids. Jerry was finishing a paper.

When the door opened and he saw his mom he jumped up and ran into her arms. She kissed his forehead, "I missed you!"

"I missed you too mom. I must thank you though."

"Why?"

"Everyone at school told Karen & I we have the coolest mom ever. I have to agree. It is cool to have a mom that is willing to dance with you, and play games without embarrassing you."

"Well I am glad that I was able to get you some cool points. What are you working on?"

"Mid-term paper..."

"Do you need any help?"

"No thanks. Dad made time for me. We worked on it, but he looked really tired when I left."

"I know. I am here for a couple of weeks before I do my small press tour, and I am going to take Ayden with me so you all can all get a break."

"We don't mind."

"I know, but you are still teenagers. I talked with your dad. You guys have some days out of school. It is a good time to invite your friends over. We can make some calls, and get some movies."

"Sounds awesome mom. How is Baby G?"

"They are great. I think they missed you guys. I had more morning sickness being gone than I ever had when I was home."

Jerry smiled. He kissed his hand, and then rubbed his mom's bump.

She made it to Karen's room. She was in her bed watching TV. She smiled when she saw her mom. Olivia walked over, and saw her eyes. "Kiddo, did you remember to take your allergy pills?"

"Yes ma'am. The doctor says that it is a sinus infection. He gave me a round of antibiotics to take, and told me to only go outside when necessary until this clears up."

Olivia looked confused. None of them mentioned this when she called.

"Dad and I decided not to tell you. We didn't want you to worry, and dad was there when the doctor saw me. He knew that would be what you wanted so he moved his meetings around. How are you?"

"I am good. I just missed you guys."

"We missed you too, but you had to work. More importantly, the work you are doing is important. We can hold the fork down when we need to."

"I have no doubt about that honey. You get some rest. Do you need anything?"

"No, I will out soon. I love you mom. I am glad that you are home."

"I love you more Kare Bear."

She made it to her son's room. She smiled when she opened the door. He was knocked out. She knew he was tired, because he was snoring loudly. He got it from his daddy. Fitz wasn't a big snorer, but when he was exhausted he would snore.

She went over and kissed him. He was clutching his favorite bear. He had a look of contentment on his face. She took a moment just to take him in. He was the perfect combination of the both of them. She loved how humble he was. She didn't know how, but she knew that he would someday go and change the world.

She kissed him before quietly getting up, and leaving the room.

She made it to their room where she went to change. She was going to go check on her husband. It was clear to her that he needed a break. Between being President and dad he didn't have much left in the tank.

She sent a message to Lauren and Abby. They both quickly responded that they agreed he needed a break. Abby was concerned. Fitz was healthy, but he had been through a lot. He needed to slow down some. She let Olivia know she cleared his calendar for the next two days. She would bring his briefs to the Residence, and unless there was an emergency he would be free to rest.

She headed out to go and check on him when he walked in the room. She was so happy to see him. It was like she was alive. That was the only way to put it. She could tell he felt the same way. Although he was clearly tired. Seeing his wife made everything okay again.

He opened his arms, and she gladly went into them. He whispered, "I missed you Liv."

"I missed you more. I am a little mad at you."

He pulled back to look at her.

"You didn't tell me our daughter was sick."

He nodded, "I didn't, but I didn't want you to worry or cut your trip short. Liv, you are the mom, and we don't function nearly as well without you, but it is important for me that you get to do your work too. You have had more sleepless nights than me when it comes to parenting and taking care of me."

She caressed his face, "Whenever I think that I can't fall more in love with you I do."

"Ditto!"

"Well I talked with your team, and we have cleared your schedule. Abby will bring your briefs to you. You have the next couple of days off to rest unless an emergency comes up, and you will relax and rest. Starting now. Go enjoy the bath I made for you."

"I don't deserve you Liv."

"Oh, yes you do. We deserve each other."

She walked him in the bathroom, and undressed him. There was nothing sexual about it. It was just a woman taking care of her man. There was a two-finger Scotch waiting for him.

She wanted to take care of him so she washed him from head to toe. He wanted to stop her, but it was something about the way she was taking care of him that stopped him. It was like it was as much for her as it was for him.

He was relaxing in the tub. He knew she wanted to ask. Finally, he said, "I can't share all the details. I can tell you we were on a mission, and Marcus's plane got shot down. I completed the mission, and then I went back to to save my men. Some thought I was crazy, but I wasn't ready for those families to be without their sons especially Marcus's family. From the moment we met he talked about his mom and sister. They were his world. His dad died when he was younger, and he promised his dad he would take care of his family. He took that promise seriously."

"I think you did the right thing."

"Me too babe."

The time off was just what Fitz needed. He was able to get some rest, and spend time with his family. Olivia surprised Fitz by rescheduling her doctor's appointment while he was off to ensure that he would get to be there. Mom & baby were just fine. They would be able to find out the sex of the baby at the next appointment.

When they made it back to the Residence to relax Olivia looked at her husband, "I don't want to know the sex of the baby."

He looked at his wife in shock.

She smiled, "I don't need to know. It doesn't change anything."

"You like to plan ahead…."

"I do, but surprises are not so bad especially when you are involved. Knowing whether I am having a boy or girl won't change my love for them. I enjoyed the element of surprise the last time, and I think the country did too. I know that we don't make family decision based on the country, but like it or not we have to consider the optics. A lot of good came out of guessing what Ayden was going to be. I think with this mini press tour where people will get to see the pregnant First Lady they will enjoy it."

"If this is what you want?"

"The question is are you okay with it."

"You know all that matters to me is that you are the baby are happy and healthy. The answer to that question is yes. So, I am more than fine.

Olivia wasn't used to being in front of the camera, but it was getting easier. She was actually excited to go on this press tour, because she would be visiting several late-night shows. She was determined to show the country that she was just like them. In order to do that she needed wanted to visit talks shows, and some of them included late night. She wanted to appeal to the 18-35 age range. Although Fitz couldn't run for office again she wanted his legacy to be that he really was a man of the people, and so was she. Out of all the stops she had to admit that she was most nervous and excited about her first appearance.

Olivia was in the dressing room. She had chosen to wear a pink Valentino sleeveless lace dress with scarf tie.

The producer let her know she was ready.

Introduction: Our guest for today needs no introduction. Some consider her the most powerful woman in the world. I have to admit it has been fun keeping everyone in the dark who was coming today, but that wait is over. Everyone stand up and welcome the First Lady of the United States Olivia Grant.

Ellen turned around and watched as Olivia came around the corner. When she got the call from the First Lady that she wanted to kick her press tour off on her show she was surprised but honored. The only request that Olivia had was to keep her appearance a secret. The anticipation had built, and Ellen believed it was worth it. Although she was the First Lady she was really down to Earth, and she definitely had some moves.

The two women greeted each other before sitting down.

The audience was having a field day, and wouldn't stop clapping and cheering for Olivia. She smiled and waved at them.

Finally, they calmed down. Ellen said, "I guess it doesn't matter that this is my show."

Olivia laughed, "You didn't get the memo. Today it is "The Olivia Show"

Ellen laughed as the audience clapped.

Ellen said, "Welcome to the show!"

"Thank you. I am glad to be here."

"I thought I was getting punked when I got your call. I called my wife, because I had played a prank on her. She said she was going to get me back. I thought she was getting me back. It took me a day to realize this was real."

"My husband is the jokester in the family."

"I can only imagine. We invited the former First Lady. She declined our invitation. I even offered to super-size her meal from McDonald's."

Olivia laughed, "Well she missed out, but I am upset that my Big Mac combo wasn't super-sized. I should have made more demands."

Everyone laughed.

"Seriously, what made you want to come on my show? I am not exactly the poster girl for Republican values."

"Neither am I. Did you not get the memo? My tan is permanent."

The audience laughed.

Olivia got serious for a moment, "I have always been apolitical. My husband has always been Republican, but he is also open minded. It is one of the many reasons I feel in love with him. We want to show the world that everyone belongs at the table regardless of race, sex, or religion. I have watched you rise over the years, and I respect that you have used your platform to do good work."

By the end of the show the pair had become friends. Ellen had given the baby a gift. Olivia had invited her to the White House, and assured her that this was the first of many visits.

By the end of the press tour no one cared that the couple had delayed letting the country know they were expecting again.

For the first-time Olivia felt like she was standing in her own truth as First Lady. She was no longer trying to convince the country that she was good enough. She never shared this with Fitz, because she didn't want him to feel bad. This was her personal demon, and the press tour allowed her to overcome it. She was standing in her truth, and she was finally being rewarded. She had her marriage, her children, and for the first time she felt like she had the genuine love of the country if not the world. It couldn't get much better than that.
