"Whoa, whoa, whoa slow down." Aria's hands had not stopped moving since everyone left the green house, but she was moving so fast Lorne was having a hard time keeping up. He figured she was trying to ask a million questions at once. "Slow down."

"I thought you said you were familiar with the hand movements Aria is using?" Teyla walked on the other side of Major Lorne watching both intently. She was fascinated by the strange young woman's appearance as well as her odd form of nonverbal communication.

"No, I said I could make a pretty good guess. She's not exactly using any particular signs except the one for Wraith, as far as I can tell at least. It's more like a game of charades."

Ronon walked slightly behind his tiny companion. Raising an eyebrow at the others over her head, his gravelly voice asked "Charades?"

"It's a game back on earth. The object is to get someone to guess a word without speaking." Colonel Sheppard explained. "It's kinda fun."

"Back home, before I learned how to use sign language, my little sister and I used to communicate using gestures. The same thing applies here. Still, I guess you could call it the 'grammar' Aria is using is very similar to that of ASL like my sister uses. But even understanding my sister gets a little harry when she gets excited and starts signing too fast."

Aria heard the sound of footsteps before anyone else and ducked behind her new translator. "Oh thank heavens Colonel." It was the odd accent from the silent forest. Curiosity got the better of her once again, so tentatively dark goggles peered over the military man's shoulder. "You gave us quite the scare lass."

For a split second, the Major thought he saw the silent woman's headband move on its own out of the corner of his eye, but shrugged it off. Instead the military man was more interested in the curious way Aria cocked her head to the side, studying the Scotsman. She took in the look of genuine relief, to his strange white jacket and absentmindedly stepped out from her hiding spot. A smile touched Major Lorne as he watched Aria look from one earth man to the other "Allow me to introduce the good doctor, Doctor Becket."

"It's nice to finally meet you love, but what I want to know is if you did any more damage t0 your arm." The subconscious shoulder roll did not go unnoticed by the kind hearted man. "Do you have any idea how dangerous it is climbing around out there?" There was a gentle sternness in Becket's words, and much to everyone's surprise Aria didn't startle from him. Instead she bowed her head like a scolded child. "Alright, let's get you to the infirmary and see what we can do about getting that bullet out of your arm."

Confusion furrowed the quiet stranger's brow. Taking Major Lorne's chin, she turned him so he was looking straight at her. She touched his lips and pointed to the Doctor. "What do you want me say?" The smile on Aria's face told everyone, Major Lorne had again guessed correctly at the young woman's meaning. Touching her shoulder she then pointed to Ronon. "Uhhh…" Scrunching her nose in frustrations she moved to the ex-runner's back, and tapped the healing incision.

"Yes lass, I will have to take the bullet out, much like the way I took out Ronon's transmitter. But how did you know about that? I don't remember seeing ya on my last house call." Aria's smile widened. "It doesn't matter; right now I'd like you to follow me so we can help you feel better."

Reluctantly Aria followed the good doctor through the strange metal hallways, jumping at every 'whoosh' of a door, ducking behind the doctor at every new face, even giving weary looks to the armed guards with Wraith stunners as they walked. "Sorry the Major couldn't accompany us, but he did have other duties to attend to. Still I'm quite certain we'll get along famously. First things first we'll have to get you into a gown, and then I'd like to do a quick physical to make sure I haven't missed anything."

After a few miscommunications, and a few failed attempts to make the new comer understand she was supposed to remove her other clothes before putting on the open backed gown, Aria was soon seated on a medical bed with her bare feet dangling over the side swinging lazily as she studied the room. Curiosity seemed to be replacing her reluctance very quickly. "Alright if you could just remove your headband and goggles we'll get started."

No. That sign didn't need interoperating. "Why not love, I promise I'm not gonna bite ya." Taking the exasperated look Aria gave him, Becket grabbed his tablet from a nearby table and handed it over to his newest patient. "This should make things a bit easier on both of us." Pulling up a note taking app on his computer, he drew his finger across the screen showing Aria how a mark appeared in the same place where his finger made contact with the screen. "You can write can't you dear?"

Snatching it out of his hand Aria began to scribble. Her face lit up as she played with the new toy she'd been given, clearly fascinated by this new device. The good doctor could not help the smile that began to spread across his face as he finally found a piece of technology that the skittish lass was not afraid of. After a moment she handed the tablet back. "Here I recognize this." In the mist of several scribbles were the words, just like writing in dirt. "Aye that it is lass, but I'd say quite a bit cleaner. Is all this ancient languages, there must be at least ten alien scripts here." A slow smile spread across the young woman's face seeing awe in the kind hearted man before her. She dipped her head a sight blush rising to her cheeks. Again she snatched her new means of communication away from the Atlantis healer. Know many.

"Interesting, but that still doesn't tell me why you won't take off your goggles or headband."

Not won't, can't.

"That is not an explanation."

Too much light hurts.

"Sensitivity to light but you don't appear to have any vision problems evident from your little rock climbing earlier. Still let's lower the lights and take a look." In spite of himself, Carson wasn't prepared for the slivery blue shimmer that stared back at him when Aria slowly opened her eyes after pushing up her goggles. She had never intentionally shown anyone what she looked like before, even Ronon had never asked her to take off her goggles. He'd only discovered her eyes by accident during a fight with some of the Wraith Hunter's; which was probably why he'd never reacted to them. Eventually she'd become comfortable with the giant oaf to forget about her goggles completely a few times, but the fish out of water way Becket was opening and closing his mouth made Aria chew on her lower lip.

Still this had been a better meeting then anything before or after she'd met her runner. No one was calling her a monster, although she was being watched like a bird of prey, Aria didn't feel threatened, yet. So stilling herself against the unknown, she reached behind her head and untied her head band. As the mud covered cloth fell away, pale blue wolf ears un-flattened themselves from her skull to twist and turn catching every odd sound in this room. "Dr. Weir, I think you should come down to the infirmary for a minute. There's something you need to see."
