I'm back bitches, and hopefully better at writing. I own nothing.

The Docks were an unusual place to find a vampire. For true Nosferatu, the ocean was a form of running water and so simply being in proximity weakened them greatly. It was only Alucard's great age that enabled him to hide the fatigue and unease the open sea brought. If vampires where here it meant they were foreign and, judging from the state of Mr Holmes's corpse, they were hungry.

From the bite marks the Hellsing Institute had determined that two sperate vampires had feed on the unfortunate worker. That was the seconded weird fact, vampire were solitary, never sharing food unless there was no other option and even then they were more likely to kill each other than share. Sir Integra had set her personal man of war the Docks of London. One vampire and his ghouls could be dealt with using a trained taskforce, but two, in a non-standard environment. This was the kind of situation where overkill was safer than no kill.

The scent of sickness tickled the night air, growing stronger as Alucard wandered through the containers. It reeked of rotten and poisoned blood, it drew Hellsing's agent towards his prey. As found his way through the stacks other smells mingled with the sickness, decay, feces, fear all of them acting as a clear map to his destination.

Above him a creature watched, it had not the power nor the abilities as the one it spied on, instead it had a savage madness. This Level E was all alone in the moonlight London Dock, singular bar one. It's pale haired friend was sick and grumpy, and the pale one may have killed the savage creature's friend but, it hadn't killed the creature. It figured that meant they were friends. Friends keep outsiders away. The scary red outsider was getting closer to the pale one, and the pale one was to sick to kill the red outsider. That would be okay, the creature would do it.

Alucard only heard the screech of claws on metal before the creature was upon him. The same claws imbedded themselves deep in his head, cleanly slicing though his eye and skull. It tore a chunk from his head, splattering it against the containers on either side. Alucard collapsed, brains and blood falling on the pavement below. Staining it red for all to see in the come tomorrow's dawn. The creature refused to stop there, it was hungry.

It's claws dove for the stomach, shredding skin like paper, it open up the internal organs. Slivers of muscle and chunks of organs where devoured, mixing with the blood. The creature stuffed itself. Alucard lay still, neither healing, nor dissolving and reforming. The vampire simply lay still as he was savaged.

Not two rows over, Zero clutched his open wound. The blood he'd previously consumed had done nothing to help or heal the infection. Only a mixture of vampiric transformation and Hunter heritage had allowed him to cling this long to life... possibly. If Zero had the strength for cynicism, he would have claimed the universe just didn't want lose it's favorite chew toy. However, all his energy was being focused into walking to wards the growls and squelching he heard. Fresh blood had been spilled and he wanted his share.

Alucard was... being eaten. Usually he would take offence to this, however, the savage unintelligent beast before him was something he hadn't seen before. Neither ghoul nor True Vampire, he laid still as a corpse in an order to observe the creature. His Master would be most displeased if he learned nothing of the new foreign monsters. Though so far he'd learned nothing of use.

Wait.

Alucard felt it, the boom of a living heart, this creature did not belong to the undead. It's teeth were blunt barring a few canines, it was a cheaper imitation than the insane Major's pathetic army from fifty years back. Observation was over, he had enough to tell his Master.

His body liquefied, melting to blood. It regathered, circling and reforming him , coat and all. The blood and flesh that had been consumed by the starved beast, burst from it's stomach to region the body. The Creature screeched in pain as stomach acid leaked into internal organs eating away at the interior flesh.

The pain only fueled it frenzy, the claws lashed out again, slicing into the reform Alucard. The Nosferatu was done playing games. With a gloved hand he reached out and grasped the head of his attacker. His fingers – long and spinly – warped around the crown of the creature. Then Alucard simply applied pressure, squeezing slowly. The skull cracked, small breaks first, then gaping holes as his fingers and skull fragments dug deep into the soft flesh of the brain.

All that was left of it faded into ash.

"Fuck me." It was whispered, so quiet maybe Zero had only breathed the words.

Alucard heard, he turned to face the speaker. The sickness was stronger, it hung heavy round the speaker. He was pale, albino at most, and tall, dressed in filthy rags. Alucard was terrible with ages, in modern time he often found men were now boys and boys seemed to be men. One hand held his obviously wounded stomach while the other clenched around a sharpened pipe like a life-line. The young one seemed saner than the other.

"Now, who would you be?" Alucard asked, the baritone blending with the night, like it claimed him.

"Zero, Zero Kiryu," was all he said. A accent danced over his words, marking English as a second or third language.

"Do you know what pathetic creature failed to attack me?"

"I do."

Alucard grinned at the... boy, yes, the one before him was a boy. Ignorant of much but so fiery. This one would make him tear the answers from him, just for the hell of it. Alucard didn't mind, the boy only had mere hours left.

"And?" He replied.

"What's in it for me?" Alucards grin only grew at the boys words, flashing fangs in the moonlight.

"A painless death."

"Try again," the boy said, so firmly, so determined.

"You wish to cling to life, an admirable trait in one so young. All that can be given to you is a quick and painless death," replied Alucard.

"Take me to a hospital."

"Surely you feel it, the sickness in your blood, weakness in you body. I need only my eye to see deaths shadow behind you. A hospital will not save you."

"Then what I know dies with me."

Alucard clapped, slow genuine. The boy had resolve, and it almost made the vampire regret his next action. Nevertheless, he'd make it quick, some humans - though this one wasn't human - deserved dignity.

"A valiant effort, but incorrect and futile. For you efforts, a painless death as offered."

The boy, Zero, attempted to run, only managing a slightly accelerated shuffle. Alucard followed silently after him. Not fifteen paces ahead of him the boy tripped, his legs failing him. It seemed Alucard had been wrong the sickness that plagued the boy were closer than he thought to taking him.

That didn't stop the boy, unable to walk he crawled, his nails scratching at the pavement as he dragged his body further into the maze of containers. Even as he moved at a snail's pace not once did he relent in his attempted escape. Alucard walked just that much slower to watch the determination of youth.

His fingers bleed, the skin torn by the concrete below. In one hand he still held the sharpened pipe, his only weapon. The ominous footsteps of his hunter had become quiet, Zero dared a quick look behind him. The predator, was gone, perhaps he found Zero to pathetic, not a thought he liked but, if it saved his ass who was he to complain. He turned forward preparing for the crawl to the shit-hole container that was his shelter.

The monster was in front of him.

Red coat hanging at his ankles, smug grin, as if Zero's pain was amusing. The monster, knelt beside him. One hand grasped him by the collar and lifted, turning him as he did so that the Zero rested against his shoulder. Giving Zero a good look at his killer-to-be's face. White skin that was pale and waxy drawn over high cheek bones, coupled by a head of rough cut black hair that moved with out the interference of the wind, allowing the monster to have an other worldly look.

"You have fought hard, accept what is to come and be at peace." Was all the monster said in that same baritone, the kind that sank into your bones and unsettled you.

Zero clenched his fist, he found the very last refuges of strength within him.

"Never."

Blood flowed from the pipe as Zero plunged it though the soft under jaw of his captor, through the soft muscle of the and out through the center of the skull. It should have been killing blow.

The predator above him didn't even scream.

He grinned that terrifying fang filled grin, then plunged those same teeth into the exposed flesh of his neck.

Zero Kiryu died that night, he did not awake the next morning, nor the next night. His body was laid to rest in a plain black coffin with only his name inscribed on the lid as a marker to who he once was.

Alucard made an interesting discovery.
