Chapter 3:

Violets p.o.v

Violet felt a shiver of fear run down her spine as she stared at the goblin king. He didn't move. He just stared. The look in his eyes was almost feral. Matched with the easy going smirk on his lips it was quite terrifying. He was attractive but terrifying. She didn't know how long they had been sitting there. It felt like hours, just staring at each other. It was like a game of who would crack first, and he was winning. His mismatched eyes seemed to glance into her very soul. She darted her eyes to the floor, but she could still feel his eyes burning through her skin. What did he want from her? She should be out there saving her brother! Just thinking of Toby gave her a sudden strength. She looked into the eyes of her kidnapper.

"Where is my brother?" she demanded. Her demand only seemed to amuse him.

"He's in this castle." His calm tone made her angry. This was a baby they were talking about and he made it sound like it was no big deal.

"Give him back and let us go home." She was standing now. Her clenched fists were sweaty and trembling. She took a step towards him but looking into his eyes she retreated. His eyes had gotten considerably darker. As fast as lightning he was in front of her. He grabbed onto her hips and lowered his face until their noses were almost touching. Violet felt her heart hammer in her chest. She had never been this close to a male before. Especially an attractive one. She tried to turn her head away from his gaze but that only seemed to anger him. He removed one hand from her hip and gently grabbed her chin.

"Let me make this clear my delicate little flower, you are never leaving. I don't care if that girl beats my labyrinth, she can keep the child. But you will never be leaving this castle, or this world and you will never and I mean never leave me. You are mine just as much as I am yours. I understand you don't fully understand the situation but in time you will. And when that time comes you won't ever want to leave, never mind even thinking about it. Do you understand?" he told her firmly, staring into her eyes. Violet couldn't believe the nerve of this man.

"You can't keep me h…."

"But I can and I will." He told her almost adoringly, placing one of her silky locks behind her ear in an intimate manner. Violet felt her cheeks heat up as his pale hand brushed against her skin. She was deeply confused. This man didn't know her and now he was planning on keeping her. He was obviously not right in the head.

"Please just let us go" she pleaded, only to be ignored as he placed a gentle kiss to her forehead and headed towards the door.

"I have to check on your sister, but don't fret my little flower, I will return to you soon. Behave while I'm gone." As soon as he left, violet heard the click of the door and ran to it. It was locked. That madman had locked her in. She banged her hands against the wooden doors, calling for help but nobody came.

Sarah's p.o.v

Sarah was gasping for air as she leaned against one of the many walls of the labyrinth. It seemed like she had been running for hours, when in reality she knew it had only been a few minutes. It was so unfair. The labyrinth seemed to never end. It went on and on for miles. She was an actress not a runner. She had never been interested in physical fitness before. Why would she? She never ate junk food and that meant that she never gained a lot of weight. Nobody wanted a fat actress, did they? Sarah didn't want to run any more. She was upset, and it was life's fault. First her brother and sister are kidnapped by a king, an actual king, and then she was rudely talked down to by an ugly goblin who took enjoyment from killing fairies. Now she had to run this stupid maze in just 13 hours or Toby and violet would be gone forever. It wasn't fair! It should have been her who was kidnapped by the handsome king, not violet. It should have been violet who had to run the labyrinth in order to save her, not the other way round. It should have been violet who met the ugly goblin who peed in ponds and killed fairies. Just thinking of the unfairness of the situation made Sarah's mind cloud up in anger. Violet was probably having the time of her life drinking tea and eating little cakes with the king while they laughed about her behind her back.

Sarah couldn't stop the flurry of images in her head that were fueled by her anger and jealousy. Hearing the chime of the clock she knew that another hour had past. Clearing her thoughts she knew what she had to do. She would win this labyrinth and prove to the goblin king that she was worthy of his affections, not violet. Then he would marry her and they would live happily ever after. Sarah smiled at the thought. She would of course see to it that toby and violet were sent back home. They couldn't stay. It would keep the kings attention off of her. After this was over she would demand him to send them home and for them to never return. He would be besotted with her by then so it shouldn't be a problem. With a smile on her face she started to sprint once again.

Jareth's p.o.v

Jareth leaned back into his throne as he looked at the crystal balls in each of his hands. In his right hand he could see his beautiful flower and in his left he could see the annoying pest. In his right he could see his flower looking around the room he had locked her in. He generally used it as a living room. Its walls were painted a light peach color with gold borders. The furniture was baroque in style. He felt a smile grace his face as he watched her look through a small selection of books he had left in the room. She looked quite beautiful as she ran her finger across the bindings of the books. Looking closer he analyzed her clothing. They were pretty on her but they would never do. Pretty girls were meant to wear pretty dresses, not trousers like a man. And if his pretty girl needed pretty dresses then he would make sure she had hundreds. Only the best for his future queen.

He reluctantly looked at his left hand and his smile was replaced with a smirk. The insolent girl had barely made any progress and two hours were gone already. Truly he didn't care if she won or not, which he highly doubted that she would. He would be sending her and the babe back either way. As if he wanted a brat and a human baby living in his kingdom. He laughed at the thought. Of course all parties wouldn't agree. Especially his sweet little flower. But alas it couldn't be helped. She belonged here with him. He would make her see his side of things. And she would. Staring at the crystal in his right hand he smiled. She had been gone for 15 years and she was never leaving him again.
