Purifying Dark Hearts
Rose: NEW MANAGE- Wait I've done that before. Oh well! Thank you, everyone, who did review! If you haven't seen my other stories, then you should know that I am way more capable of writing stories, and also (because someone commented on it) I WON'T CENTER TEXT ANYMORE. I don't even know why I did that originally. It was really dumb. Also, spelling and grammar errors won't be as common, since I'm not writing on Notepad anymore. So Yay! Here's the next chapter! Oh, and I will be keeping them long :D
When I woke up, all I could see was the cream colored ceiling above me. Then I remembered I was in the Pokemon Center. I slowly got up, gathering up my hat and my bag, took a headcount that all my things were with me, and left the Center with a casual pace. The next thing I needed to do was head towards Eterna City. There was a man there that had access to the underground, as well as that statue near the north of town. Jupiter really wanted me to check it out, with my abundance of knowledge.
Crossing the bridge towards the new route I looked around. It was flat, with the occasional hill and even some water on one side. I carefully walked through the grass, heading up to the hill, which was the only way to get to the forest. Battling the occasional trainer and crossing some bridges, I saw the forest entrance, as well as a small rest house right before. I did take a rest there, since my Pokemon were slowing down from fatigue, before walking to the front of the entrance. I took one more bored glance at the route behind me before taking a step inside the dark forest.
And was immediately thrown to the ground. I gave a groan and opened an eye, looking up to whoever had the sense to knock me over. Seeing wild blonde hair, I had my hunches. Barry hoisted himself up, holding his head, before finally noticing me and going pale. Was he scared that I was angry? He should be since I was furious.
"What do you think you're doing?! Running into me AGAIN?!" I growled at him, standing up and dusting off my pants and coat. He visibly flinched, taking a step back before he realized he was expected to respond. "I-I-I didn't mean to! I just heard a ghost and high tailed it outta there! I had no idea you were even here! Swear!" He was trembling now. Did he honestly think I'd hurt him? I wouldn't do something so low as that. Afterall, I needed to move on now. I had wasted enough time dealing with that moron.
"Don't do it again." I gave a glare before stepping into the forest. "W-wait! There are trainers everywhere in there! It's dangerous to go alone!" He yelled at me. I ignored him and kept walking. Then I realized he was far too right. Pairs of trainers lurked on every path, with absolutely no way to avoid them. Fighting one on two was not my ideal way of battling them. I doubt there was anyone here I could team up with except… Oh, Arceus am I going to have to?
I started debating the pros and cons. If I had help, the battles would be easier. I'd get out of the forest faster, and get to my mission much sooner. But if I had Barry, surely I would be annoyed to death. I weighed my options and sighed. Taking the idiot along had a lot more benefits than harm at the moment. And that depressed me. I turned around and headed back towards the entrance, with Barry still standing there in shock. I grabbed him by his arm and dragged him into the forest with me, him squirming and complaining.
"H-Hey! This isn't how you treat a guy! I know I ran into you again and everything but this isn't right!" I mentally groaned. I wasn't going to deal with him complaining. I turned to him. "Please be quiet. You're coming along. Think of it as your punishment for slamming into me AGAIN. Now just be quiet, and help me with these trainers." He flinched again and went silent. Finally, peace and quiet from this blonde.
The trek through the forest was not too terrible I guess. The trainers were defeated quite easily, thanks to my team and Barry's Monferno. I'll give him that, it was a smart choice to bring the fire type along. Its dual typing was a great help in dealing with some of these trainers. Especially the ones with grass types, since I'm only now realizing my teams flaw to the dreaded type. Not to mention Eterna City's gym leader was a grass type leader. I'll have to figure out a strategy for it soon. On to the matters at hand.
I could see the exit ahead, but my interest had been turned towards the large abandoned mansion right by it. The eerie feeling it gave off made me very curious. Maybe there were ghost types there? It would make sense after all. Meanwhile, as I was debating if revisiting the place later with HM 01 Cut would be worth my time, Barry was hiding behind me in terror of the place, whining and squirming from discomfort. Which I will say is a trait the blonde never shows and was very funny to watch when it did. Which now that I thought about it, was really only when I was around. Interesting.
"C-can we go now, Lucas? The exits right there! Besides, we can't even get into the mansion!" He whined loudly. As much as I hated it, he was right. Staying here any longer would be counter productive. I walked off to the exit, tilting my head to look back at him following quickly. "You can go now. I can manage myself just fine without your help now." I told him coldly. He looked relieved and immediately ran to the exit, fading from my sight quickly. I sighed in relief. Finally, I was here. I left the forest and looked around, catching a Starly in the grass to be my anti-grass solution for the gym. Then, I stepped into the town.
It was pretty old timey. The newest building around was probably the bike shop, and they were closed. Even better was all the Galactic grunts roaming around. So the take over went well. Perfect. Maybe that'll buy me some time to dig around safely, without any annoyances-
"Hey, Dawn! Isn't this place bad news? Those dumb grunts are everywhere!" My eyes widened and I whipped around and saw Barry, along with the other girl Dawn. How long had she been here?! And how did Barry find her so soon?! I needed to leave before they saw me. NOW.
"O-oh! Lucas? You're here too?" Dawn shyly asked, walking over to me, Barry tagging along, although looking somewhat scared. Why. Why did I have to be found? I just needed data! That was unfair.
"Hello, Dawn. Barry." I kept my face calm, not wanting to give away my annoyance. That relaxed Barry slightly, feeling as though Dawn would keep me from being angry or annoyed at him. We'll see about that. "What are you doing here… I-if I can ask!" Dawn's face turned pink almost immediately after she asked. Honestly, she was embarrassed over a question? Or was it something more…? Oh please let it not be something more. That would just be downright a problem to my mission.
"Just collecting data for the professor of course! There's a Pokemon statue he that he was very curious about, so I'll be taking a look at it and seeing if I can draw anything from it." I tried to make my voice sound chipper, but she bought it anyway. Barry gave a more suspicious look. Then again, he knew how I really was from all those times he's bumped into me. Dawn explained she and Barry were there for the gym and to chase the grunts out of the city. Which meant I needed to get everything done fast, or else Jupiter would be run out of the town before I could get her that data. I hastily said goodbye to the two and left, heading to the statue. It didn't look like a Pokemon I've ever seen. Maybe a mixture of two. Whatever it was, it was most definitely a Dragon.
Then, I saw the plate. It looked faded or even scratched out. I took out a notebook and started copying what was left of the script and did my best to fill it in the best I could. It seemed to be referring to the Pokemon in charge of time and space separately. This was very good news. I turned around to head to the Eterna Galactic Building when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned slowly, only to see the stern look and blue hair of the team's leader. Cyrus.
"You're… The spy under Rowan, yes? You have done good work. Collecting all that data for us, getting all that information. You are a great aid to us in our quest to reshape the universe. For that, I thank you for your usefulness. Once we rebuild this wretched place and all spirit is shattered, I will give you proper thanks. You too also see the uselessness in what we know as spirit. Willpower, Emotions, and Knowledge. That spirit is what holds us back from our true power in this world." The message was cryptic, yes, but that was how Cyrus was. I took his words to heart and he walked away.
I knew this was my place. This world didn't need spirit. It just caused war, from that willpower to make a change. That knowledge caused people to revolt and want something new. Those emotions made people do crazy things. They all caused a lot of problems. But Cyrus will reshape the world! And I will follow him until my purpose is fulfilled and his goal is reached. That is the world that I can work for to the death to have flourished. I allowed myself to think a little more before turning around and running to the Eterna Building. The grunts cut down the trees and let me in, leading me up to the top floor. Jupiter was standing there, harassing a man with a Clefairy behind her.
"Jupiter? What's going on." I said cooly. The purple haired woman turned to me with a gleam of annoyance in her eyes. "This man is insistent on us returning his Pokemon. As if! Clefairy is useful to us, since it's said to be from the stars!" I held my chin and thought about it. Not doubt in Dawn's attempt to take down the building, she'd return the Pokemon to the man. "Someone's coming to drive you out of this building. And having that Clefairy is not worth the trouble. Just steal some from Mt. Coronet. There's plenty there that no one will miss. Meanwhile, pack up all the supplies. So when you leave, the police will find nothing that links us to our plans. Also, here. These are my notes of the Pokemon Statue." I handed him my papers and she looked impressed.
"Nice going kid. Your pretty useful to us still! Dialga and Palkia huh? Master Cyrus will be very pleased to know! Now that we have a solid lead…" She grinned maliciously before turning to the man and barking orders at him, swearing that if he told anyone of this that her Skuntank would tear him and his Clefairy apparent without hesitation. He looked thoroughly terrified, and agreed to keep his mouth shut. Jupiter dismissed me and I quickly left before anyone saw me there. No need to raise suspicions while I was here. Not until maybe later. Much much later though.
Rose: That's it! Three pages man. Updates will be slow, but it's because of school stuff and me wanting to dedicate as much time as possible to writing this story. I promised before it would be a long story, so it shall! Some reviewers did like the idea, and I'm happy for it! Platinum was one of my favorite games, next to Black and White, along with their sequels. So, I wanted a fresh idea, since most fanfics were just a rewrite of the journey with like a ship. So, I thought, hey what if that one character you rarely see suddenly is really important? :P I'll stop here. Remember, read, enjoy and review! Those reviews are really inspiring with how much you guys like the idea. See everyone next time!
