A/N: Hey guys, and welcome back to another chapter of Smashhventures! With Christmas just around the corner, I've decided to make a chapter where the Smashers go holiday shopping! Anyways, to the chapter!
Chapter 17: The Pink Handbag
Please note that this chapter and the next one take place before the Mario Karters leave on the bus.
Today was a magical day in Smash-City. It was finally snowing! As the early birds woke up, they saw a few droplets of white fluff floated into the ground. They quickly got ready and ran outside, to see a thin, white blanket forming across the whole city. Christmas Time was here!
See how I capitalized the "time"? No, that wasn't a mistake. You see, in Smash-City, the coming of snow marked the beginning of a time of all-day-play and fun, and a break from fights. They called this the Cheistmas Time, or the Whatever-Holiday-You-Celebrate Time.
It was custom that on the first day of snow, all the smashers would go to the Super Mall of Epic Things and Cool Stuff to buy Christmas, er, Holiday presents for the rest of the smashers. Since there was so much presents to buy, the smashers and assist trophies would just buy something in bulk and give them to the rest of the smashers. That wasn't frowned upon at all, since pretty much all the smashers did it. But they could also get their special friends or significant other a special present, and that was mainly what troubled the smashers. "What should I get?" "Will anyone get me any special presents?" "Do they like me enough to?" "Should I get so-and-so a present to tell them I like them?" Stuff like that circled the smashers' mind throughout the whole day.
There were many interesting events that happened in the mall on this day, such as Yoshi and Wario getting into a hot dog eating contest over another hot dog, and Link accidentally getting himself married (to whom, is up to yourimagination), but this is the story of just one pair of smashers.
In the mall, two smashers were fighting over the last pink handbag in Phosphora's store, Forever 2100.
"I need it! It's the perfect gift for Peach!" Mario yelled, tugging on it.
"No! Please, comrade! It totally matches my style! I must have it!" Caotain Falcoln yelled, ripping it from Mario's grasp. Today he was wearing his white and pink outfit. Go figure.
"Haha! It's mine now!" He yelled. He started running for the cash register. Unfortunately, the whole shop was filled with electric do-dads, and that involved carpeting. When he stepped off the white marble and onto the electric carpet, he received the shock of his life.
"Gzzgzzggzgzzz!" He screamed, falling down. The bag had flown from his hands as he fell, and onto a clearance table... Right in the middle of the giant electric carpet.
"Darn... Well I guess neither of us can have it now." Caotain Falcoln said. He turned to Mario, and saw that he was now jumping on top of the tables and shelves, making way towards the table a football field away, which held the bag.
"See you at the cashier!" Mario yelled behind him.
"Oh no you don't!" Caotain Falcoln said. He jumped on top of a table and started heading towards the bag himself.
Mario was the better jumper, and reached the table first.
"Haha! It's mine!" He yelled. But then Captain Falcoln caught up, and started pulling on the bag again.
"I had it first!" Caotain Falcoln yelled.
"Well, I saw it first!" Mario yelled.
They continued their bickering and yelling until a certain goddess appeared.
"Ahem..." She said. Mario and Captain Falcoln turned around to see a lady with gravity defying blondish orangish hair, wearing very short white shorts, and a very short sleeveless shirt which showed her belly. There were vines surrounding her whole body.
"Phosphora!" Mario said. "What are you doing here?"
"Uh, I own this store?" She snapped. "What are you doing hopping on my tables and ruining my store?"
Mario and Captain Falcoln looked at each other. "Uh..."
Phosphora pulled a lever, and the table sprung up, launching them into the air, and out of the store. They landed at the entrance.
"And stay out!" Phosphora yelled.
"Aww dang... I really needed that bag for Peach..." Mario said. "The Christmas is doomed!" He sat down, and lay on the ground, looking like a starfish.
Captain Falcoln but his lip. He looked at Mario, who was giving him puppy dog eyes. He sighed. "Alright. You can have the bag."
"Yippee!" Mario yelled, jumping up. He ran into the store, only to be kicked out by Phosphora.
"What part of 'stay out' do you not understand? You are banned from this store!" She screamed. She went back int the store.
"Aw dang!" Mario sat down again. "Now Christmas is doomed for sure!" He went into his starfish position again.
"Don't worry! I'll help you get the bag!" Captain Falcoln said.
"But we're not allowed in the store!" Mario said.
"But what if it's not us who goes into the store?" Caotain Falcoln asked, a sly face on his... face.
Mario was confused. "What?"
Captain Falcoln shook his head, Phoenix Wright style. "You'll understand soon enough..." He took out a notebook."Here's the plan..."
"You want me to what?" Little Mac asked.
"We want you to go in there and buy the pink handbag for us." Mario said.
"Why can't you get it?" The boxer asked.
"Well, we kinda have a history with the place." Captain Falcoln said.
"But this shop opened yesterday..."
"Look, are you gonna get it or not?" Mario said, shoving forty dollars into Little Mac's hands. "If you do, you can keep the change."
"Alright, fine." Little Mac shrugged. He entered the shop, grabbed the pink hand bag, and went to the cash register. Phosphora just happened to be manning the cash register.
"That'll be thirty-five dollars... Hey, wait a minute... I know that bag!" Phosphora eyed him carefully.
"Who are you getting this for?" She asked.
"Mario and Captain Falcoln." He said.
"She sighed, pressed a button on the cash register, and launched Little Mac out of the store.
"From now own this bag is not for purchase to smashers!" She yelled as Little Mac flew away.
Little Mac looked down to see that he was gonna land on Mario and Captain Falcoln, who were eating hot dogs peacefully. "Oh darn."
Crash!
"Ow..." Little Mac said.
"Ditto." The other two said.
"Did you the bag?" Mario asked, standing up.
"No, and I'm not helping you anymore!" Little Mac yelled, walking away.
"Wait! My money!" Captain Fakcoln yelled, chasing after him.
"We're gonna need a new plan..."
"Are you sure this is gonna work?" Captain Falcoln asked. "I look ridiculous." He was dressed up like a toad, with white pants, a blue vest, no shirt, and a mushroom hat.
"Well, she said no smashers could get the bag." Mario said, putting on his feminine toad costume. It was pretty much the same, except the vest was pink, the mushroom spots were pink, and he wore a white shirt, for obvious reasons. "So, we won't be smashers!"
They entered the store.
"Oh, honey! Look at all these fine pieces!" Mario the fabbu toad said. "Absolutely stunning! Ahaw ahaw!"
"Er... Yes... Dear." Captain Falcoln said. "Look! Uh... The scarves are half off!"
"Oh! What's this? A pink handbag! It's color really brings out my outfit!" Mario screamed. "It's perfect!"
"Yes, it is! Here, let me buy it for you... Sweetie." Captain Falcoln and Mario took the bag and walked up to the cash register.
"Hey there!" Phosphora said. "What'll it be?"
"This bag is gorgeous! The moment I saw it I knew I needed it!" Mario said.
"Yep! She knows her stuff! She's my... Toadykins..." Captain Falcoln said. He didn't know how much longer he could take it.
"Yea, I only make the best quality stuff!" Phosphora said. "You won't find better craftsmanship anywhere else!"
"Indeed!" Captain Falcoln said. "So, how much will it be?"
"Thirty-five dollars." Phosphora said.
Captain Falcoln took out his wallet, only to accidentally drop it on the floor.
"Oh, let me help you with that." Phosphora kneeled down and picked up the wallet. She turned it over and saw Captain Falcoln's ID.
"Wait a minute... What's this?" She took a closer look at the ID. "Imposters!" She pressed the button and they were flung out of the store yet again. "From now on the bag is not for sale to anyone!" She yelled.
"Dang it. I guess we have to give up now..." Captain Falcoln said down.
"No! There is one other way." Mario said.
Captain Falcoln looked at him, and gasped. "You don't mean..."
"Yes." Mario said. "We have to take it... Secretly."
"Wait... What you want me to what?" Link asked.
"Well, we chose you to help us because you had... Desirable features." Mario said.
"Yeah. You will go in there, and talk to Phosphora. You know, distract her. Your... Features... Will easily distract her." Captain Falcoln said.
Link felt awkward.
"And while you're busy with her, we'll secretly leave the surprise present for her, and when we're gone, you can leave." Mario said. "Now get in there and get em!"
Mario pushed him into the store. Link cleared his throat, and walked up to Phosphora.
"Hello." Link said. Phosphora looked up from her book, and her eyes widened.
"Hellloooo..." Phosphora whispered, biting her lip. She then realized what she was doing, and snapped back to reality. "Uh, sorry! I was distracted. What can I do for you?"
"Not much." Link decided to go for it. "Unless... you know how to mend a broken heart." He slapped himself in the head mentally. What had he gotten himself into? First the accidental marriage (and devorce), and now this. Zelda was gonna kill him. But it was for Mario, his honest, benevolent friend. He had to do it.
"Aww, you're adorable!" Phosphorus grabbed his hand. "Come with me." She dragged him into the storage area of the store. Link looked behind him, and saw Mario and Captain Falcoln approach the register. He had done his job.
Mario and Captain Falcoln took the bag, and his it, without anybody seeing them.
"Hey, Phosphora?" Link said.
"Yes?" Phosphora said, looking at him.
"I should be going now." He said. He escaped her grip and headed for the exit.
"Wait! Please!" Phosphorus said, running after him. She exited the store to see Link talking with Mario and Captain Falcoln. In Mario's hands were the bag.
"Hey, you stole the bag!" Phosphora yelled.
"You STOLE that?" Link asked.
"Uh..." Mario looked at Captain Falcoln. "Maybe..."
Link dropped down to his knees. "NOOOOOOOO!" He yelled. "MY HONOR!"
"Guards!" Phosphora yelled. "Come over here!" She summoned about a dozen electric robotic and they were slowly approaching the trio.
"Any last words before I send you to the hospital?" Phosphora said.
"I-I'm sorry." Mario said. He closed his eyes, and waited for impending doom. But nothing happened.
He opened his eyes, to see Phosphora and Link, laughing at them.
"Wait, what?" Captain Falcoln said.
"Oh, we got them gooood!" Link said between laughs.
"Yeah! And I got pictures!" Phosphora said, holding up a camera.
"What's the meaning of this?" Mario asked.
"Well, Phosphora and I have known each other for a while. I actually helped her get her shop up and running." Link said.
"Yep, so when you guys started giving me trouble, I decided to get even!" Phosphora said. "When you guys asked Link for help, he texted me what was happening and I told him to go along with it."
"What? How?" Captain Falcoln asked.
"Yeah, how? The author even told Link's thoughts to the readers!" Mario exclaimed.
"Yeah, but he/she had to, so that the readers wouldn't figure it out early." Phosphora said.
"Well... I'm sorry for everything. Truly. I'll just return this bag and get something else." Mario said, humbled.
"Nah, you can keep it." Phosphora said.
"Wait, what?" Mario asked.
"Yeah, I actually have whole barrels full do them in the back. They're dirt cheap." Phosphora said.
"T-thank you!" Mario said.
"Well, all's well that ends well!" Captain Falcoln said.
They all laughed, and an audience cheered with them. They jumped in the air, and froze in that position midair. Some say that they're still stuck there today... Then the screen blacked out as jazzy music played and everything was fine.
A/N: I don't really have much to say right now. But finals are getting closer, and I'm sorry to announce that I'll only be able to release one more chapter before the end of the year. Good news is, though, that it'll be a Holiday Chapter! Anyways, I like to leave some holes in the story for you guys to fill in yourself. So, what did you guys think hapoened in the unexplained areas, like the marriage? Leave your thoughts in the reviews! Suggestions and feedback welcome! Until next chapter!
