A/N: You know what they say about march madness, right? Yeah, that's why I've been gone from this site for so long. Not because of all this sport stuff, cuz I'm not interested in that. I'm talking about school. This month was so busy, but I survived, I'm still here!
To the chapter!
Chapter 48: Smashin' A Heart 2
"And, to conclude your-a tour, he's your-a house."
"Hmm…" Bayonetta looked at the shabby looking shack. "Could use a bit of sprucing-up… Well, I got to get working if I wanna make this shack worthy of my possession. If you all would kindly leave, that would be fantastic." Nobody wanted to leave. At least, none of the boys did. And some of the girls. We don't discriminate in this story.
"Go!" She yelled, summoning two devil hands to blow them away. When she did that, her clothes started disappearing, until her legs were barren up to her thighs and her arms were sleeveless. Everyone started leaving immediately, although many took a couple pictures first.
"Hey," Pit said to Phosphora, "we should ask Bayonetta if she needs help."
"What? Why?" The lightning warrior asked.
"It's just that…as an angel, it's my duty to help whoever is in need! Yeah! That's it." Pit started walking over to Bayonetta.
Phosphora sighed and started walking after him, but was grabbed on the shoulder by Palutena.
"Hey… Can you keep an eye on Bayonetta for me?" She asked. "I mean, it's not like you weren't going to anyways."
Phosphora stared at her. "What do you mean?"
Palutena smirked. "We both know what I mean." She nudged her head at Pit, who was drooling near Bayonetta.
Phosphora sighed. "Right. I'll keep an eye on her."
Palutena beamed. "Thanks! Hot springs, here I come!" She levitated away, leaving Phosphora, Pit, and Bayonetta on the lawn of the witch's house.
"Bayonetta, do you have anything I could help with for your house?"
Bayonetta thought about it. "Hmm… Actually, now that you mention it… I do need some Rocks of Darkness from a cave in the woods. If you two could escort me there to get that, darlin, you'd make me ecstatic."
"Don't worry! Me and Phosphora will help you get it!" Pit said.
"Splendid! Now, chop chop! We haven't all day, you know!" She started walking down the street and motioned for them to follow.
"Did you hear that, she called me darlin!" Pit whispered excitedly excitedly as they walked to the town gate.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Phosphora scoffed.
After trudging through seven marshes, swimming through a lake of honey, and climbing five mountains, all while Pit was (unsuccessfully) trying to get in good with Bayonetta, they finally made it to the cave, which turned out to be five steps outside the gates.
"W-why did we waste five hours of our lives walking to a cave that was ten steps from the gates?" Phosphora gasped in frustration.
"Actually, it's five steps from the gates." Pit pointed out.
"Oh, shut up."
"Well, I just felt like surveying the area." Bayonetta said. "Nothing wrong with that."
"Yeah!" Pit said. "There IS nothing wrong with that."
They entered the cave, which was dark and dank, like my memes. Heyooooo
Phosphora's spine shook when a bat flew down from the ceiling and almost bit her hair. Not the hair!
"So, where is this stone gonna be?" Phosphora asked.
"It should be at the very end. Assuming there is one." Bayonetta said. "The article I read online wasn't too specific…"
"Wait, so you're telling me that all your info on the stone came from a freakin' random article online? That's so-"
"Resourceful!" Pit said, eyes shining. "What a genius."
Bayonetta laughed. "Thanks, I know."
The deeper they got into the cave, the darker it got. Obviously.
However, this darkness seemed...unnatural. Darkness usually is just an absence of light, but Phosphora thought she could feel this darkness. It was like an extremely thick mist; at times she felt like it was grabbing at her. Needless to say, she did not want to be here right now. "Um… Pit? Are you sure we should be here?"
"Huh?" Pit was too busy looking at some rocks. "Hey, Bayonetta, are these rocks the ones we're looking for?"
Bayonetta didn't even look at them. "These are not the stones we're looking for."
"How can you tell?"
"Let's just say I have a talent for darkness. Oh, be careful! There's a lnothing let little bottomless pit over here."
Pit gasped and whispered to Phosphora, "Did you hear that? She said 'pit!'"
Phosphora sighed. If she lived, maybe she would just give up on Pit. This wasn't worth it.
Meanwhile…
On the way to the train station, Zelda bumped into Samus and Captain Falcon, who were telling Corrin about the restaurant/commercial district.
"Zelda? What are you doing here?" Samus asked.
"I'm looking for Link. Oh, and are you the new smasher? Welcome!"
"Yeah, I am. And thanks!" Corrin said. "Link is the guy with the green tunic, right?"
"Yeah."
"Yeah, he's giving the other smasher a tour." Captain Falcon said.
"Other smasher?"
"Yeah, the girl version of myself." Corrin said. "Instead of giving all of us the same tour, she insisted on splitting up, and she also insisted on being with Link. Stared at him all weird-like, too. Kinda strange."
Samus laughed. "A bit suspicious, if you ask me."
Zelda gasped. "What?"
Captain Falcon shook his head. "Nah, a lot of girls stare at Link like that."
"That doesn't make me feel any better." Zelda sighed. "Where are they now?"
Samus shrugged. "Last I saw they were heading towards the residential area."
Zelda nodded, turned around, and ran there as fast as she could.
...
The witch, the goddess, and the angel delved deeper into the cave, where unknown dangers awaited them. Meanwhile, the goddess was trying to get Pit alone to try to talk some sense into him. If he was going out with someone, which is likely, seeing as he seemed to be under Bayonetta's influence, then she would find out, and then she would smack the heck out of whoever he was dating.
"Hey, Pit, I think I see something over here, could you help me with it?" Phosphora, who had lagged behind and was kneeling next to a boulder, asked.
Pit looked away from Bayonetta. "What? Oh, sure, I guess…" With willpower, Pit turned around and walked back to Phosphora.
Bayonetta kept moving forward, seemingly unfazed by Pit heading the other way.
When Pit got there, Phosphora made sure nobody was in earshot and started talking. "Pit, snap out of it!"
Pit looked at her in shock. "What do you mean?"
"You're being controlled! The curse should have worn off by now, but it looks like it hasn't yet."
"What are you talking about?" Pit asked.
"Bayonetta's alluring personality and witchy-ness makes all males who are in a relationship be drawn to her!" Phosphora said. "Come with me! I'll save you while we still have a chance!"
"Really?" Pit asked, crossing his arms. "Y'know, you've been acting really weird. Are you okay?" He looked her in the eyes with suspicion. Phosphora swore she could see Bayonetta in his eyes.
Phosphors looked at him, and for the first time in a while, felt fear. "I… I…" She tried to form words to respond but nothing came out.
Pit shrugged. "You better head home and let Bayonetta and I finish the hunt alone. You seem out of it right now."
"No, I'm fine, it's just-"
"No, I insist! Look, the entrance is right there and-"
"Seriously, I'm fine. Just let me-"
"No." Pit turned her around and gave her a gentle shove towards the exit. "Go home. You have to."
Phosphora turned around and started to object, when she realized that he was already gone into the dark mist, alone with Bayonetta.
A/N: Until next chapter!
