A/N: Oh my gosh, I just had my best idea for a fanfic ever! Right after a choose your own adventure one.

I don't want to say too much yet, but I might start a new smash bros fanfic very soon. Let's just say u drew the inspiration for this fanfic after listening to Sins Of The Father from the Metal Gear Solid V soundtrack. One of the best video game songs out there, in my opinion.

I just realized that I still have to write A Smashin' Time too.

Looks like I'll be on this site for a while, haha.

Just a note, this arc takes place before the other arc even starts. Just something to keep in mind.

To the chapter!

Chapter 49: A Day in the Park 3

"Alright, this plan is bound to work!" Nana said, looking over her notebook. "First, we distract Waluigi with someone else. Preferably. Then, we sneak onto the boat while he's busy with the other person!"

Lucas nodded. "Yeah, but who are we gonna get to distract Waluigi?"

"Hmm…"

"Hmm…"

"Hey, what're we 'hmm'-ing about?"

Lucas and Nana turned around to see Fox looking at them. They stared at each other and smiled.

"Hey Fox! Could you help us out with something?" Nana called, walking up to him.

"Sure, anything for a fellow smasher (who's not Wolf)!"

"Ok. We need you to walk up to Waluigi over there," Nana pointed over to the boat station, and gasped. Behind the small podium where Waluigi sold his tickets was nothing but a small chair. Waluigi was nowhere in sight.

"Quick, Lucas! Waluigi must be taking his lunch break! Let's go while he's gone!"

"Not so fast!" Fox yelled in his Smash 4 nasally voice. With a flick of wrist, Fox revealed a zipper underneath his shirt. He opened it up to reveal Waluigi inside!

"I just caught you guys red-handed!" He yelled triumphantly. He put handcuffs around them and danced triumphantly. "I knew this disguise would work!"

Lucas stared in shock. "But, but how? That costume looked like an exact copy of Fox! That's some fine quality material you've got there."

"Only the best! Of course, now I'm in debt 30 million coins from the costume, and my boat stand only makes about twenty a day, but it doesn't matter! I still caught you trouble-makers scheming! And as such, I have the authority to BAN YOU FROM THIS PARK ALTOGETHER!"

They both gasped. "No way!"

"Yessum! Under Section 67-4 of Book 5, page 76 line 7, I now banish you, Nana and Lucas, from ever going to this park again!"

Nana glared at him. "What's wrong with you?! We only wanted a boat ride!"

Waluigi laughed. "I'm an anti-hero! It's what I do."

"You're no anti-hero." Lucas said steadily. "anti-heroes have honor. Look at Dark Pit. Sure, he almost killed Pit like, ten times, but it was for a cause he believed in, even if that cause was himself. You… you're just petty. Picking on those smaller than you. You're better than this, but you don't chose to be." Lucas turned around. "C'mon Nana, let's go."

Nana had been staring at him in shock the whole time. "Uh… Ok." He and her walked away from Waluigi and out of the park.

Waluigi was stunned. He sat back down at his stand and shuffled the papers on his stand around thoughtlessly. At the very bottom of the stack was the picture that Starfy had given him a long time ago for their adventure in the woods (see chapter four, the last paragraph, for reference). And he sighed.

Meanwhile, Snake and Falco were hiding in a group of bushes. They were under heavy fire from Bowser and Ganondorf.

"I told you to watch for anybody in your side!" Snake growled. "What the h-e-double-hockey-stick is wrong with you?" He would cuss, but that would make the story rated T, and I don't want that (for this story, at least).

"Well, if you hadn't actually walked like a normal person instead of crawling around everywhere In a freaking cardboard box, I wouldn't have fallen asleep!" Falco yelled back.

"Hehe… Come out, come out, wherever you are!" Bowser yelled from one side on the bushes.

"You can't ride forever…" Ganondorf chuckled, taking the other side of the bushes.

"Alright, here's the plan." Snake said.

"No! I'm tired of your plans! They take forever to execute, and most of the time they don't even work! Now here's MY plan," Falco said. "They're planning to attack the bushes from all sides, which means we have to leave now or else we'll be hit. Of course, there is another way…"

"Launch a preemptive strike." Snake concluded. "Piece of cake."

Falco nodded. "I'll take Bowser."

"Alright. Wait for my signal." Snake said. He then nodded and took his position in the bushes.

"If you don't come out by the count of three and swear your undying loyalty to us, we will not hesitate to mercilessly destroy you two!" Ganondorf said.

"Three!" Ganondorf yelled. Snake and Falco positioned their balloons.

"Two!" They locked eyes.

"One!" Snake nodded.

"Fir- whaaaaaahhhh!" Bowser and Ganondorf stumbled back as a barrage of water balloons hit them head on, taking them to the floor.

"Yeah, got em!" Falco cheered.

"Yeah. We did." Snake smirked. "You're not bad, kid. Pretty good, actually."

"You're darn right I'm pretty good!" Falco said.

"Argh!" Bowser yelled, getting up. "We're gonna crush you!"

"Uh oh."

"C'mon, don't just stand there, come on!" Snake grabbed Falco and started running…

"...Well?" Ness said. "Are we gonna start heading up this obstacle or what?"

"Yeah, let's go!" Toon Link said. "Are we gonna take the Emperor's-New-Groove approach, like Villager and Popo?"

"Nah, that's too slow. Follow me…" Ness observed the walls. It was supported by two parallel vertical beams, spread about six feet apart. There were velocity sensors near the bottom of the walls so that in someone were to fall from a high height, the platform would retract into the walls, allowing them to fall into the soft foam balls at the very bottom of the mountain. Of course, that would mean that they would have to start all over, but that just adds another layer of challenge.

Ness hopped onto the wall and tried to scramble up by himself. He almost made it up in under half the time it took Villager and Popo but did not have the momentum to make it all the way. "Uh oh, I'm gonna fall!" He dug his nails into the wall.

"NO!" Toon Link yelled. "If you fall, we'll have to start all over again!"

"What?! What do you mean?" Ness yelled.

"Read the paragraph up there!"

Ness took out his mobile phone with one hand while the other was still desperately lodged into the wall, opened up Smashventures Chapter 49, and read the fourth paragraph before this one. "Oh... shoot." His nails could not take anymore, and he started falling towards the bottom of the walls. "AHHHHHH!"

"No! If he reaches that sensor we'll never catch up to them!" Toon Link said. "I've got to find some way to slow his descent!" He opened up his pouch of gear and looked through it. "Can I explode his descent to slow down? Nah. Maybe throw a potion at him? Nope. Hmm… aha!" He triumphantly pulled his bow and arrows out of the pouch. "Hey, Ness!"

"AHHHHHHHHHH- what?" Ness yelled back. "I'm kinda busy falling here!"

"I'm gonna shoot you with an arrow! That ok?"

"What? Of course it's not! Are you a maniac!"

"It's all a part of my plan! Don't worry!"

"You can't tell me you're gonna shoot me and expect me to not worry! There's no way I'm gonna let you do that!"

"Just trust me!" Toon Link said, readying his arrow. He focused his eye on Ness. After some quick calculations, he got ready to fire. "Steady… and… FIRE!" He shot an arrow and prayed. Fortunately, it only whiffed Ness's arm but caught Ness's sleeve, impaling him safely against the wall, but with a small cut. The sensor was barely an inch below Ness's foot.

"I… I did it!" Toon Link yelled in triumph. "I am the greatest!"

"Well, Link wouldn't of hit my arm at all." Ness scoffed.

Toon Link smirked. "Sure. Now remove the arrow. You can fall from this height without reaching the minimum speed required to open the floor."

Ness removed the arrow and made it back down safely. "Alright, that didn't work."

"Yeah… Listen, we're not gonna get anywhere trying to do everything solo like this. We're gonna have to cooperate as a team if we're gonna have a chance to beat Villager and Popo."

Ness nodded. "I guess so."

"Alright. Now, you ready to win this race?" Toon Link asked, putting out his hand.

Ness took it and shook it. "You betcha." They assumed the wall climbing position and started their ascent. While they were climbing up the mountain, something seemed to awaken between them. The minds intertwined with each other, and they operated as one unit, instead of two units being mashed together. They made it up the wall in record time, and their pace for the next seven obstacles was very similar, if not better.

Finally, they reached the final obstacle, which sealed off with a door.

"Hmm… Look at this sign here." Ness said. "It says: Adventurers! Congratulations to both of you to have made it this far. Your teamwork has been tested again and again throughout these many trials, and you have always prevailed. Now, this last challenge is tricky. Your task is to get through to the top of the mountain and ring two bells at the same time, meaning that you must complete the task together. There are gloves in this box (Ness pointed to a silver box next to the sign). Only take ONE pair of one yellow glove and one green glove. This is vital because it is the only protection from the "shocking" task that is put ahead of you. Hah, puns. If you do not see the pun yet, the poles have an electric charge surging through them that only these gloves can protect you with, Anyways, do not dare take more than one of each glove, because if you do, the poles you can hold on to will detract, and you be forced to start the whole mountain again! Have fun!

Toon Link opened the box. "Duh duh duh duh, duh duh duh duh, duh duh duh duh. Duh duh duh duh…"

"Are you freaking singing the treasure tune from your game?" Ness asked.

"Da DA DAA DAAAAAAA!" Toon Link yelled, holding up a pair of gloves triumphantly. "I got the gloves! Let's head into the challenge."

Ness nodded. "Right behind you!" They pushed through the door and found themselves on a small platform, face to face with Villager and Popo.

"Oh shoot, you guys caught up." Popo said. "Well… good luck with this." He pointed to the final obstacle: A recreation of the first level of the arcade game Donkey Kong Jr.

"Hey, this doesn't seem so bad." Toon Link said. He put on the gloves and hopped onto the first pole. Immediately, he was shocked as other parts of his body touched the pole, and he fell down. Thankfully, a portal popped up and swallowed Toon Link and spit him back out to Ness, Popo, and Villager. "At least this challenge doesn't make you start over from the very beginning if you just fall and don't cheat."

"I don't think it even matters, because this challenge is pretty much impossible already." Villager said.

"How so?"

"Well, it's almost impossible to hang onto a pole with only your hands. Some other part has to touch it for you to not fall, right?" Villager asked.

"Yeah, and even if one could do that, it would be a whole lot harder to jump from pole to pole while still only maintaining contact with your hands." Popo said.

"Yeah, true…"

"Wait, I've got it!" Toon Link said. "Ness, come here so I can whisper it to you."

"Well, what about us?" Popo asked.

"We're still competing." Toon Link retorted, smirking. "Besides, you'll see the plan in a few seconds."

Ness walked up to him, and Toon Link put his mouth to Ness's ear. "Alright, here's the plan…"
