It's Just Magic

Chapter 3: The Lies. The Truth.

Bloom

"Mom, Dad!" I called, but I seemed to be ignored as the shouting carried on.

"Vanessa, we can't just keep on accepting this money like this. We don't who it's from and why they are doing this!" my dad shouted. I stopped in my steps, what in the hell?

"We knew it's bound to be from them, who else? Plus all they wanted was for Bloom to move schools and in exchange now they are giving us the money we need, or else we probably would have been on the streets by now. All I want for her is to be happy with the life she deserves, this money has saved us, and you saw how happy she was when she got her car," my mom argued in return. I knew we had money troubles, but I didn't know it was that bad. And what is this money she's talking about? Is this how they afforded my car? And my school? WHO'S THEM? I want answers, and I know interrupting them now won't make getting them easier.

"How would we even know it's from them? Plus Bloom is getting suspicious, she's going to start asking questions, and when we don't give her answers, what is to say she won't do her own research? Or even worse what if theytell her truth?!" my dad shouted. I think I've heard enough.

"Mom, Dad," I began with my eyes filled with hurt," I know you've been lying to me. And before you start, I don't want to hear you apologise and then just to have you brush it off. I just want answers."

I even surprised myself with my calmness.

"Bloom, I'm going to tell you the-"

My dad was soon cut off by my mom, "Mike! No! Please, I don't want to lose her."

My mum was on the verge of tears, my heart softened but this has just gone too far.

"Mom, it breaks my heart to say this but I'm not your little girl anymore," I said.

My mum looked at me with tears," yes, you're both right. You have the right to know. I think it's time we told you, Bloom. We aren't your real parents, you're adopted. The money that we've been receiving has been paying for your school, car and well just about everything almost."

She took a deep breath, "we think it's from your real parents, but the people giving the money have asked for you to move to Lakewood. We don't know why. All we know is that with my business doing bad and your dad having quit from his job, we would barely be getting through without all of this. "

I stood there frozen, in shock.

"What? No. But...you...No you're my parents. I mean... who else could be? You told me how I was born, mom, and you were pregnant but was stuck in a fire, remember? By coincidence, it was dad who saved you, and then you both rushed to the hospital and, and I was born, right?" I fought back the tears. This is just a joke; I mean they are my parents.

My dad handed me a paper that read certificate of adoption.

They are right...

"Bloom, the truth is that while I was doing an extra shift, I was called to a burning house. Just as I thought there was no one left inside, I heard your cries, it was a miracle. You were there in the middle of all of it, protecting from the fire-"

What?

"I think, I think I'm going to need some air," I barely made that out as my voice broke; I dropped the paper, and just left through the door.

How did I not realise? It was so clear!

We look nothing alike, but I mean not everyone is a carbon copy of their parents. But I saw the proof, it's true.

I fumbled around in my pockets for my phone, barely able to unlock it as the cold air started to reach my fingers.

I press the only number I knew to call.

"Andy?" He doesn't pick up, until I realise he had been working tonight. He and the band were trying to pick up as many shifts as possible at the bar. I guess I'll just go meet him.

Stella

Thank God, school's done for the day, it's only Monday yet I'm already so done with everything.

As I climbed into the driver seat of my Audi A6 2018 model, my phone buzzed before I was able to put my keys in and drive as far away as possible.

Baby, I'm really sorry. Ik I messed up big time, but please just give me one chance to explain myself. Our usual spot 7pm. – Jake x

This boy really thinks I can forgive him for cheating again. It doesn't even hurt anymore, I just feel numb with all the pain I've had to experience. But hey ho, can't say I'm surprised.

You know what, I think it's the time again that they learnt not to mess with Stella Simpson ever.

Instead of texting him back, I messaged Tecna.

You know what, is it okay if I bring someone to make your date a double date? It's going to be officially over with me and Jake after today. - S

Thankfully, it was barely a minute before Tecna replied.

Yh, sure Stell, I was kinda nervous anyway. I'll need your help with the location. Who you bringing? – T

Le régal at 6pm should be perfect. Guess you'll just have to wait and see who I'm bringing... – S

I scrolled through my contacts until I find the person I needed. Brandon.

He's a really sweet guy and not to mention really good-looking, which is why it's no shocker that so many girls have been fawning over him on his first day here. He was there, next to me in class, after I had found out Jake had cheated.

Not only had he told me I deserved way better, he even asked me out once I was ready and done with Jake. Honestly, he seems like a really great guy, and I wasn't even really using him anyway, I wouldn't mind going on a date with him.

I called him, but he didn't seem to pick up so I just left him a voicemail.

"Hey Brandon. It's Stella here. I listened to your advice, thanks again by the way. You know what; I think I'm ready to go on a date. Anyway, you seem like a great guy. If you're up for it, text me as soon-"before I finished, I got cut off by the beep.

I sighed, am I even doing the right thing? I'm not even ready, wait I haven't even officially broken up with Jake, but he should know we are as good as done after tonight.

I started my car, and before I knew it; I was already pulling up into our large driveway hidden behind the towering gates of our mansion.

"Mom I'm home!" I shouted, but I was responded with silence. No surprise, probably out with her new latest beau. By beau, I mean her new young, hot male (possibly a model) booty-call

I flopped onto my king sized bed, just as I sunk into my silky sheets, my phone vibrated again. I jumped and reached for it in excitement, my smile widened when I saw Brandon had left me a message. But Jake had also.

Babe, pls. I'm really sorry, just hear me out – Jake xx

I messaged back, but only to give him the location of where my date was.

Where we had our first date. 7pm. I'll be there.

Just because I said I'll be there, doesn't mean with you.

I rushed back to Brandon's message.

Sure, beautiful, just send the details.

I smiled at his compliment, before hastily replying the information I had grilled from Tecna earlier. It was the perfect place as it was the same place Jake had thought to be meeting me.

Le régal. 6pm. If you don't mind it's a double date, can't wait to see you x

After sending my message, I realised I might have come on a little desperate, but I don't really give a shit, I'm happy.

Great! You too x

I smirked, not only am I going on a date with a hot guy, but I'm getting revenge on my cheating ex. Life's great!

I decided to hop into the bathroom, only to spend an hour long there bathing, exfoliating, moisturising and all that, and when I came out it was already 4pm.

I took a long while deciding on my outfit and getting ready, but I was done and driving to the restaurant by 5:50.

When I reached there, I saw Tecna, already there on her phone waiting.

"Ooh, I see you girl! Looking sexy," I shouted to Tecna, who had looked up from her phone, rolled her eyes but smiled graciously. I love embarrassing her, but she really did look gorgeous.

"You can't chat, you're always looking hot," Tecna smiled, in which I posed in return and said jokingly.

"Of course I do! I'm me, aren't I?" This caused us both to laugh. I paused and starting grinning when I saw Brandon and Timmy start to park outside.

"They're here!" I say in a sing-song tone.

"Wait, do I look okay?" Tecna said nervously.

I laughed, "I'd never have thought I'd hear you say that and be so nervous!"

"Shut up, Stell seriously I haven't been on a date in ages, not since that douche."

"Alright if you need me to tell you again, you look stunning darling, just be your normal confident witty self and he'll love you," I squeezed her shoulder in a reassuring manner. She smiled back gratefully.

"I'd never thought I'd say this, but you're right!"

"Shut up," I mumbled through my smile as the guys approached us.

"Hey guys! You made it!" I said, putting on a radiant smile, before hugging Brandon.

"I had nothing else to do," Brandon shrugged jokingly.

"Yeah, like you couldn't resist!" I joked, laughing at our banter.

I turned to the side and see Timmy and Tecna already engaged in deep conversation. Looks like she never even needed my help after all.

"Maybe we should give them some privacy," Brandon laughed after looking at what had caught my attention.

"So much for a double date!"

"You look beautiful by the way," he whispered into my ear, sending strange shivers down my spine as his deep voice sounded so close.

"Thanks." I smiled bashfully? I was never shy.

"You look great too, I suppose..." I laugh, back to my confident self, causing him to raise his eyebrow.

"I guess? I picked out my best Ralph Lauren polo for you. Sunshine, I'm hurt," a hurt look fell upon his face, but his deep chocolate eyes shone with a different story. My heart warmed at his newfound nickname.

The date went amazing. Brandon and I clicked straight away with our flirty and bubbly personalities. We were having so much fun, that I didn't even realise an hour had gone by.

Jake had walked in.

He sat down, and ordered like it was of second nature. He began to look around, but my back was turned to him, so he couldn't see me clearly. I slightly slumped in my seat; I didn't want him to see me just yet! Plus, if he and Brandon meet-oh shit, I did not think this out.

"I'll go get us a refill," I quickly said and got up before he could ask questions, thankfully he got preoccupied by a buzzing from his phone.

Instead of heading to the drinks, I detoured to Jake's table.

I began to walk by, but then took a few steps back, pretending as if I was just acknowledging his presence.

"Oh. Hey there Jake. Didn't see you there, you seem awfully lonely."

Jake sent me a confused look, "what are you talking about? You were-"

"Oh Jakey, you really must have thought I would be giving your another chance, do you really think I have no worth? To be going back to you again?" I smiled insincerely, as a clouded look fell upon his eyes. I never really could see through those eyes, probably why I fell for his lies so many times.

I finished off," oh and just because I said I would be here, it never meant with you, because to be frank I'd rather not see your lying, cheating face again."

"Wow, that's low Stell, even for you," Jake commented, trying to hide his anger and embarrassment," I only came to break things off with you anyway."

"I'm sure you were," I said simply as my eyes bore into his, "anyway; I'm going to go back to enjoy my date whilst you can go occupy yourself with your latest slut."

As I begin to walk off, he pulls me back by the wrist, "yeah, go ahead. Enjoy yourself. It may be your last at this place."

I stood there confused by his words for a couple of seconds, only to realise that was the reaction he had been expecting, and before I can even reply, he's already gone.

I know Jake can be a real prick once you get to know him, but why threaten me? He's not dangerous. I know that for a fact and I mean surely he would want me back so we can be the oh-so-perfect 'it' couple. Anyway, it's not like he can do anything, I basically have the entire school at my feet.

I snapped back to reality, and grabbed the drinks that had just been refilled. As I'm about to head back, I spot Brandon on the phone. Not wanting to interrupt, I slowly make my way to our table; however his words catch my attention.

"Look Helia I know, I shouldn't be using her, but it's for the right reasons. Besides, by the end of the night, I'll have her wrapped around my finger, and I'm sure Timmy's made progress with Tecna... oh hey Stella!" he quickly ended the call, the moment he saw my furious face.

"You've been using me?" I exclaimed.

"You were eavesdropping on my phone call." Brandon argued back.

"Yeah, well for the right reasons, clearly you can't be trusted!"

"Oh c'mon Stella, it's not like you didn't ask me on a date to make Jake jealous. He's an asshole, I know but you didn't want me here for the right reason either. Also, I know what you heard but it's really not-"

"You know what, I'm done with being lied to," I stated before calling out to Tecna, who had just saw the whole argument," come on Tec, let's go."

"Gladly," she replied gathering her things before shooting a dirty look Timmy's way.

Tecna

Of course.

Just when I think I've finally found a decent guy, he can't be trusted.

I mean when Timmy had asked me out after just one class together that should have sent alarm bells to my brain.

The date was going great, we had so much in common and we had fun. But I should've noticed the signs. He kept asking me so much about me and my life, my friends, my family. But why would he have been using me?

I highly doubt it was about gaining popularity, like it is every time. Timmy seemed different, strange even in a way.

I had caught glimpse of a weird-looking techno device (which I have never come across in my life, and I know practically everything about technology. It's my thing.), when it had slipped out of his pocket. It looked almost out of this world, if that's even possible. It was way more advanced than anything I've seen.

I really want to know what it is, and where he got it from, but should I even go near him again?

"Tec, you okay?" Stella asked as she drove to the Frutti Music Bar. Even though it was a school day, we figured since our dates ended quickly and pretty horribly, why not enjoy ourselves for the time we have left.

"Yeah, I'm actually fine. I've just been thinking about Timmy, I know they were using us but why? There was something more to it." I stated, trying to figure it out as all the gears turned in my brain.

"Tecna, they were just lying bastards, who we shouldn't be wasting a single thought on. I think we've dealt with enough fake guys today, let's go enjoy the rest of the night while we still can," Stella reasoned as she pulled to a stop in front of the neon-lit bar, filled with teens and young adults.

"And guess what I bought!" Stella said happily, holding our fake Ids in her perfectly manicured nails.

"I'm not drinking tonight, it's only Monday Stell," I replied, as we walked into the crowded bar.

"Good, cause you can drive!" Stella shouted, as she ran off to the bar, where they sold mostly alcoholic drinks after 8pm.

I sighed, following after her and taking a seat.

"That's the new girl, Bloom right?" Stella questioned as I turn my head to look at the direction of the door.

"Yeah, she doesn't look alright though," I said as I spotted Bloom, who had fiery red hair and blue eyes, with her hood up and her eyes stained with tears.

"Come on, let's go see if she's okay," Stella replied as we both got up, thinking the same thing.

We followed after her, but she got lost in the crowd that were watching a band perform.

Musa, the school's 'musician' (she sings, plays so many instruments and dances, no one fit the title better) was performing on stage, joining with a band that performed here often. I heard from people at school she had been performing with them a lot lately, but I seemed to have forgotten their bands name.

"Bloom!" Stella and I shouted again and again but no luck.

"Okay guys! That's it for today!" the lead singer of the band, with spiky black hair, said into the mic.

"Actually I'd like to sing one more song today, to a special someone who's been on my mind a lot lately," Musa said, the crowd cheered, but her eyes seemed to be locked on the lead singer of the band. The tune of Selena Gomez' Bad Liar began to play.

I was walking down the street the other day
Tryna distract myself
But then I see your face

I looked around for Bloom, but the crowd was so packed, it was hard to see much really. They were really hyped up, as Musa's voice sounded amazing.

Suddenly, I caaught sight of Bloom's red hair, sticking out of her hood.

Ooh you're taking up a fraction of my mind
Ooh every time I watch you serpentine

Oh I'm tryin', I'm tryin', I'm tryin'
I'm tryin', I'm tryin'
Oh tryin', I'm tryin', I'm tryin'
I'm tryin', I'm tryin'
Not to think about you

"Stella, over there!" I pointed towards Bloom's direction at the front; her eyes seemed to be very focused on the stage.

We pushed our way through the dancing crowd, which had calmed down as Musa began to finish her song.

"Andy, thank you for being there for me," Musa finished looking at the lead singer, whose name had turned out to be Andy, before proceeding to kiss him. However, Andy moved his head to the side allowing her to kiss his cheek. Although barely anyone caught onto that, Musa's face burned with embarrassment.

"Andy?" Bloom had made her way onto the stage; she seemed to be even more upset than before, except she was angry now.

"So all those extra shifts you were taking were to spend time with her," Bloom said angrily, before slapping him across the face.

"I came to you because you're my boyfriend, because the worst thing ever just happened to me. I thought I could trust you!" Bloom exclaimed tears streamed down her face.

"Bloom, baby, look there's nothing between Musa and I, she just thought we were more than friends," Andy reasoned. What a liar! He continued," and can we take this off stage?"

"Excuse me?" Musa said with vexed tone," all those times you kissed me, and you never once told me you had a girlfriend, you lying pig!"

"Make that girlfriends!" a new raging voice said. I looked to the side to see Roxy Jones? How has this guy been cheating on/with so many girls? They all go to the same school as well, how dumb can he get!

"Andy, I knew there was something going on between you and Musa, but you always told me I was being paranoid. How could you possibly think you would be able to cheat on me in a bar that my dad owns? And now I find out you've been with Bloom as well!"

"I just-wait it's not..." Andy turned to look at the crowd and said frustrated, "the show's over!"

The crowd began to break apart, however Stella and I stayed.

"Okay, let me just clear this up, just hear me out. Roxy, if I'm being honest, we've only been together for a few months. Yeah, you helped me get a job at your dad's bar, but we aren't that serious, you're still in love with that girl from school anyway. I was going to break up with you anyway," Andy began, causing Roxy to flare up.

"So that's it? I meant nothing to you; you just used me so you could become successful. Wow, on behalf of my father, consider you fired." With that, Roxy stormed off the stage, to leave Musa, Bloom and Andy. Andy didn't even bat an eyelid in Roxy's direction, but instead turned to Musa.

"Wait, lemme guess. You convinced me that we had something going on, just so I would stay and perform with you again?" Musa questioned, it looked like she was using all her will power not to punch Andy in the face.

Musa didn't even need a reply to know that she was right, before she headed back stage.

"Bloom, please just listen. You are the only one I want to be with, I let them go for a reason-" He wasn't able to finish his poor attempt of an excuse, before Bloom cut him off.

"Save it. I think I've dealt with just enough today. We are over. It looks like we were never even real to you because you had other girls in the background. I don't want to ever hear, see, or touch you ever again," Bloom threw his hand off her shoulder before stalking off towards the bar, leaving Andy to stand there with tears in his eyes.

Stella and I followed after her, and headed to the bar, where Bloom was drinking a non-alcoholic cocktail.

"Hey, we meant to see talk to you and see if you were okay when you first came in, but clearly you aren't. Wanna talk about it? It's fine if you don't want to." I said softly.

"I'd rather not even talk to my best friend about it, if I even had one, let alone some girls from school no offense. Wait, Stella and Tecna, right?" Bloom said. We nod but before we could even reply, she started again.

"But I just don't even know how I'm going to face my family, heck I don't even how I'm going to get home!" Bloom exclaimed, her eyes stained with tears.

"I can relate, well not right now because there is no one even home. We don't mind dropping you off, right Tec?" Stella asked, as she sipped on her tequila cocktail.

"Of course, but it's not like it's my car, I'm just the one driving for obvious reasons," I said motioning to Stella's drink.

"I don't even get how you are drinking on a school night, and by yourself even. If I even drank alcoholic punch at a party, my so-called parents would kill me," Bloom laughed bitterly, but Stella and I don't question the dig at her parents. She didn't want to talk about it, so we won't pressure her to.

"Sorry, guys we are shutting for the-oh hey Bloom..." Roxy trailed off awkwardly once she spotted the red head.

"Hey Roxy," Bloom acknowledged," so I guess your Andy from earlier turned out to be 'my' Andy too. I can't believe I was so stupid not to realise, I mean I just didn't think about it because I just thought-"

"That he would never do that to you," Roxy finished off," yeah, I guess we all thought the same."

"You know what, earlier we became good friends and I'm not going to let some dumb guy ruin it," Bloom told.

"You're right! Andy is going to become irrelevant to our lives, and our friendship!" Roxy agreed.

"Speaking of which, not meaning to pry, but Andy mentioned something about you being in love with some girl from school, I mean you never told me-" Bloom said smiling as her and Roxy began to talk as if nothing had just happened.

"That I was bi," Roxy laughed, cutting off Bloom again," I mean it's not something I tell people straight away from the moment we meet, but yeah I am. I used to like some girl from school, but she didn't want anyone finding out about us. We broke up, and well yeah after a couple of months, I met Andy and you know the rest."

The four of us began to chat and have fun, we didn't even realise twenty minutes had gone by. As we began to get going, I reached into my pocket for Stella's keys, but I couldn't find it. Oh shit.

Before I began to freak out, I looked around the empty crowd area where Stella and I had been searching for Bloom, only to find her keys lying on the side of the stage.

"Stella, don't kill me but I dropped your keys earlier but I found them. You guys go ahead to the car, I'll go fetch them." I said as Stella nodded her head from side to side, clearly to out of it to even realise what I had said.

As I reached for the small keys that laid on the edge of the stage, a bright light caught my eyes. An object was resting a few metres away from the keys. I went closer, picking it up.

It was Timmy's strange phone, or a very similar model to it...

How did it get here? Did someone leave it? Was Timmy here? Unless there's more people that have it.

I quickly rushed out of the bar to the car, feeling confused, but curious to figure out what this is all about.

Bloom

As I stepped out of Stella's car, I thanked them for the ride, and said goodbye to all of them.

I realised what I needed to do.

Mike and Vanessa are my parents. Yes, they may not be my biological ones, but they took me in, and raised me as their daughter. The only thing that should change is the fact that my real parents could be out there, but that doesn't mean I was going to turn my backs on them.

Before my finger was able to press the door bell, a weird sensation took over my body. My sight began to fade as I was engulfed by darkness.

I was unable to scream or shout for help, my body unable to move, as I collapsed onto the cold, hard ground.

Okay, didn't realise how many guys in this story are cheaters, oops. Also I was reading my old story, The Next Step, and I realised I always make Andy to be the bad guy, oops again, tbh I don't mind him but his 'downfall' was essential to the storyline. My old stories are so cringe but it's still my work and I've grown a lot as a writer, so I'm proud.

Also, this story won't show the Winx as innocent, or rule-abiding, or perfect. For example, Stella may seem a bit self-centred (like she was at the beginning of the show), and as you can see they drink, while underage. Their lives aren't perfect but I want to also include a few normal aspects to it.

Also, like I said I was reading the Next Step, I just clocked I had a similar storyline with a cheating boyfriend involved with Roxy and one of the Winx. But sadly, I will not be continuing The Next Step.

Also, Ik I'm changing the point of view a lot, but soon that will change hopefully.

I'M GOING TO TRY MY BEST TO UPDATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. But school starts soon, and just the thought of it makes me want to go shut myself in my room, and cry for eternity. Just 4 (maybe 3) more years of it! I can do this!
