Okay first things first.

I want to everyone for the positivity and honesty I got last chapter. I want question that I was asked by one of my reviewers. He/she asked if it was going to be a time skip for Jaune's Training. Yes and no. There going to be time skips but I'm gonna skip 4 years into the future. The next 3 chapters are gonna Jaune's beginning of his training and the next chapter will be in 3 segments of each year. First segment being the second year of his training and so on and so forth.

Now as for the random wise monk bullshit, honestly couldn't think of anything else. Shifu from battle is a monk, kinda, he looks to be raised by monks but went on his own path. So he trainer had to be a monk. So yeah it was for me to do easy writing and I'm sorry but I will embrace that he is a cliché and build his character to make or try to make him different.

As for Jaune's family, I want to do something unique with them. That's why I had Jaune's dad dead. There are gonna be more things I the future I will reveal but not now.

Jaune and Ruby ship. Yep Lancaster a lot of people don't like but oh well. My OTP, my story, my rules. As for why this pairing it wasn't just "I want another Lancaster story" I wanted to write a JauneXOC story but after looking at the characters. The way I made Ruby and the way Juane are kinda good for each other so yeah. That's all to that.

Pffft hah who am I kidding I wanted to write an another Lancaster fic

So without further ado, let's get to the story.

Again, I looked at Crocea Mors on the wall above the fire place. I looked back at the interior of my house. I couldn't have Crocea Mors as I am currently, I'm not good enough for the Arc bloodline. I know my family would say otherwise that's why I'm not telling them I'm leaving. I'll leave a note, saying I'll come back once I'm done but… that's all.

I want to come back as a man my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren can look back on and think of me as I think of my father and his father. A man my sisters could look a day "that's my brother...". I want to be a hero.

I walk to my door and turn the door knob. "Where are you going jaune?" I heard a deep familiar voice say. I turn around and close the door to see Todd.

"I'm going to train." I say confidently.

"You found someone already?" He asked skeptical of the situation. "Where's he or she at, I want to meet em'.". He reaches for the door knob and opens the door slightly before I close it back.

"No, there's no reason to." I didn't look him in the eye. I couldn't. Like or not He's a part of the Arc family now too. I didn't want him to see me.

He sighed "how long are you gonna be gone?" He asked.

"I don't know. Maybe years…" I said.

He sighed again, this time longer. "I said you could do this, this is my fault." He said "be careful out there Jaune. The door is always open for you to come back if you find out this isn't the path you want."

I nodded, still not looking at him in his eyes and opened the door. "Hey, Jaune. Look at me in my eyes." I heard Todd say. I hesitated but obliged. His face smiling and proud. "Come back better then your father ever was." He said smiling. "I'll be waiting for a spar…" he held his fist for a fist bump.

I couldn't help but to smile. "Thank you." I said giving him a fist bump and turned around and closed the door. The Monk waiting on the porch patiently.

"Said your goodbyes?" He asked.

"No…" I said "that wasn't a goodbye, that was a see you later."

He smiled, "You learn fast, Arc." He said, "I didn't even have to teach you anything for you to start learning. Now. Let's move along, we have a ways to go…"

I nodded. "Hey, before we go…, you never told me your name?" I asked, holy crap I was going with this guy not even knowing his name? What the hell is wrong with me?

He chuckled, "my name is Kane Zephyr, but you will call me Master Kane." He said turning around. "Now let's move on."

So we walked. We walked out the gates of, Verdia, my home town for the first time. I looked back on it. Excited, and Nervous. Excited that I'm actually leaving and nervous that maybe I'll never see it again. "Let us move, Jaune. We have a ways to go." Kane- Master Kane said looking at Verdia Mountain, a large mountain south of the town. "Yes sir'." I said.

I nodded and followed him.

Maybe I shouldn't of followed this guy.

He did say we have a ways to go, but still, we've been walking for DAYS. I had to eat a rabbit… who eats rabbit?

"A lot of people Arc, beside was it not good?" Master Kane said in front of me leading the way… and reading minds again.

"I mean it wasn't not good, but still…" I said, "hey, your my master now right?"

"I would assume so." He said simply.

"Then maybe you can teach me how you read my mind all time? That's cool." I asked. Yeah, reading minds? That would be awesome to come home with that ability!

"I'm sorry Arc, that is something I cannot teach." He said, deflating my happiness. "It is my semblance,"

"Semblance?" I asked confused. "What's a semblance."

He stopped in his tracks and looked around. "This looks to be the place." He said. "Well Arc class is in session."

What? I thought we're going to some temple. We're out in the middle of no where. We got of the route like 2 days ago. "What do you mean."

"This is your first lesson." He said, lesson? He points at my heart. "Aura, it's a the physical manifestation of soul. Aura shows you are alive. Aura comes from your heart. It protects and heals. As of right now it's locked. Usually there would a ritual to unlock your aura, but with my training you unlock it yourself."

Unlock my aura myself? "What good would that do?"

"Unlocking your aura yourself makes your semblance show itself faster." Master Kane said. He reached into his backpack and pulled out a ring. "Take this."

He tossed the ring to me and I looked at it. It had a red gem in the middle and was made of silver? Maybe it was dust…

"The ring is important do not lose it." He said.

Wait, "why are you talking like that?" I asked.

He smirked. "Like what, mister Arc?"

"Like your about to disappear and leave me stranded…" I said.

He smiled, and the next thing I knew he burst into a ball of light and disappeared. I Stood there for second looking at scorched part of grass he was standing on. He left? HE FUCKING LEFT!?

Okay, okay, Jaune let's calm down. He said this a lesson think about it. I thought of the ring. I put on thinking it may show me the way or something, but obviously nothing happened. "AAAARRRGGG" I yelled. He fucking left me in the middle of no where, I don't even know where am!

Calm down Arc. I'm still here… sorta.

I jumped and spun around and looked around. That's was Kane's voice right?

Master Kane, to you Jaune.

I looked at the ring and was surprised, "wait are you in the ring?" I asked.

Oh no, no, I'm back at my temple. But with that ring I can watch over you. I wouldn't leave you out there in the middle of nowhere with no guidance. I can't protect you but I can tell you what to do.

"Okay so what's do I need to?" I asked.

First of all, another lesson. That ring. That ring has a special power it supplies some of my power to you. But you can not access it until you unlock your aura.

"Well how do I unlock my aura?" I asked.

Now that, you must find out your self.

Of course…

Now, what you need to do is survive… everything I did on the trip here was to show you what to do if you want to survive. Craft, Hunt, Survive.

I remembered when he made a makeshift bow and arrow out of a branch and plant fibers. So I ran to the nearest tree that seem suitable with the straightest branches. I found one and broke the branch off and plucked plant fibers off the ground. I try remember what he did to make it.

I sat there at camp fire with Kane. We had just left not even 2 hours ago and we had set up camp. We weren't to far from my town but I doubt they'd care about a couple campers.

I looked over to Master Kane and had a branch with plant fibers sitting on his lap. Tying them? "What are you doing , Master Kane?" I asked.

He looked at me, he smiled. He continue to tie the plant fibers I follow his movements, and before to long it looked like a string. He tied to the each side of the branch, I thought being plant fibers that the it must snap. But it held, the then pulled out a stick that's been carved, with three feathers stuck to the bottom and a rock tied to the top. "I'm getting dinner" he said to me.

He pulled the makeshift bow back and fire to the left, I thought he just wasted an arrow. He walked over there and picked up the arrow and left up a dead rabbit. "Remember this, Jaune."

I start mocking the movement Master Kane made to make his makeshift bow. I tie the plant fiber then tie them to the branch, but the plant fibers break. I try again, and failed again, and again, and again, and again. Before long it was getting dark. I need to make a camp. That was necessary to survive.

After taking 2 hours to start a fire I was sitting by a dimly lit flame that hardly helps with how cold it was getting. I continue trying to make my bow and fail few more times. I sigh.

"Hey, Master Kane can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?" I asked the thin air.

Why would I say that, you wouldn't retain the information that way. You remember what I did, so do it again.

"Uuurg" I groan and try again. Why is this happening?

I then heard a stick crack… I looked towards the direction and I see a pair of red eyes. Maybe its a raccoon. There plenty of those in my town. Yeah it's a raccoon, it won't mess with you if you don't mess with it.

I turn my head and hear a low growl. I looked over to the growl and the red eyes come into view along with body with the light of the fire. A black snout, a wolf like face. White claws and black fur.

A Beowulf.

I drop down to my butt and whimper. I'm going to die. That's it. The Beowulf stalks over to me slowly and I whimper more. Before long it was right over me staring at me in the eyes, growling…

This is it? I'm dead… to a Beowulf in the middle of no where. Will they even find my body? Will master Kane even try to save me?

Seeing as he hasn't come yet. Probably not.

The Beowulf opens his mouth and fowl breath hits me. The smell of blood and meat.

I close my eyes and accept my fate. I tried…

"Tried?" My father said, to my seven year old self.

"Yeah, dad," I said, with a couple of scratches on my arm. A couple of bullies tried to beat me up and I tried to defend my self, but Joan came to save me.

My father, Julian Arc, got in front of me and stopped on our way home. Joan stopped as well, she was a bruised and a little beaten but other wise fine. "Listen to me, Jaune." He said, "you haven't tried until your so beaten and so tired you can't stand anymore. You keep going and give a 120% until you cant anymore."

"But-"

"No buts!" He said, "you are an Arc! Own it! Be strong Jaune! I know you are… so does Joan and all you other sisters! So next time and for the rest of your gods forsaken life, try! Try until you can't try anymore!

I open my eyes and the Beowulf tries to snap at me, I barely move out the way. I looked around for something I would use a weapon. I looked at the stick I had been using to make an arrow and picked it up. I stood with it my hands holding it like a two handed sword. Beowulf jumped at me smacked me into a tree a few feet away. I hit my shoulder and pain shot through it. I gasped but stood up again. The Beowulf didn't stop. The Beowulf knocks me around a couple time until I wasn't able to stand anymore.

I tried to stand but failed. I had a long scratch on my face, my left shoulder was killing me and I couldn't stand. I chuckled, now I tried. If I have to face my father now. He'll be proud. The beowulf stalked over to me again. Growling in my face until I mustered up enough spit and spit in the Grimm's face.

It recoiled and growled again, I chuckled. This time the Beowulf lifted up his white claws and delivered the final blow. It went in slow motion. I accepted it. I tried my hardest. I'll see you in a few dad.

That was before I felt strength out of no where. My eyes snapped open and I grabbed the arm of the Beowulf and stood. I kicked the Beowulf in the stomach and it went flying. Surprised by my sudden strength I looked at my hands to see they were glowing blue. I walked over to the Beowulf picking up the stick and breaking to make the end of it a shard point.

The Beowulf launched at me, I moved out the way and spun and stabbed it in the side of the head. It flopped to the ground and started to smoke. I didn't know what that meant but to make sure it was dead. I took the rest of the stick and stabbed it in its back. The smoke seemed to become bigger but before long the Beowulf was gone.

Good job jaune. I knew you could do it.

"What?" I asked master Kane.

A bright light appeared in front on me. When it disappeared Master Kane was standing there. "You've unlocked you aura therefore you tapped into a fraction of my power." He said, smiling. "You could probably go home now, with enough strength to get into beacon."

I looked my hand with the ring on it. I sighed and took it off and tossed it to master Kane. He caught with one hand with a questioning look. "If it's not my strength, then I don't want it. I said I would return strong, with my own strength." I said giving an answer.

He smiled again. "Your learning lessons I haven't taught you again Jaune. I'm glad I chose you as my pupil." He said. "Now then, I bet your tired?" He asked

"No kidding. I just had my first real fight with a Creature of Grimm." I replied. "My body feels like lead" I chuckled.

Master Kane put a hand on my shoulder and looked at me. "Then let us go." He said before we were engulfed in light. Once the light disappeared, I was standing at a temple. It was on a high mountain peak you could tell by the surroundings we were still in mistral. The temple was made of gold with blue accents. It was like looking at a very old castle built for a mistralian king.

"Get some rest jaune…" Master Kane said. "We have a lot of work starting tomorrow."

I nodded and looked over the view again. Wait a minute… is that… Verdia?! Are we North of Verdia!? That means? This is Verdia Mountain?

This place isn't even a days away from my home town!?

"WHHHYYYY!?"

I walked down the hall of my temple. "WHHHYYYY!?" I hear Juane yell. I chuckled a bit.

To think, he would unlock his aura the first day out there… his semblance is still hidden but we have time. I looked back at him. He was on his knees looking at the sky in sorrow. No doubt because of me. I chuckled. He is special… I'm glad I got to him before Ozpin did. He could help with them

Before they end up killing every living thing on this planet.

Train Jaune. We will need you help… we only have a limited amount of time.

End of chapter 2

So what do think? Some character development for Jaune here. I didn't really get into Kane's character yet but I will.

Also put some main plot points in there too at end.

So yeah, that's about it.

Cya next chapter!
