Author's Note: This one's a filler chapter… I have no idea why I added the whole thing about the hair… Maybe so Kasumi had a reason to go on the "Namimori Holiday." I like what I did with this chapter though.

I walk into the command room looking for Giannini. "Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if there was I way I could get a haircut," I say after I walk in.

"A haircut?" Giannini asks.

I nod and explain, "Several months have passed while we were in this time period and it slipped my mind while we were back in present time. I've noticed that I'm starting to get split ends."

"I have just the thing," Giannini replies happily. "I built a barber robot."

"Um, I see…" I reply a bit hesitantly.

"Would you like to give it a try?"

"I guess so…"

It was a horrible idea to allow myself to be a test subject for one of Giannini's new inventions. I should have never agreed. I stare at my hair's transformation in the mirror. Although I did get a trim like I had asked for, I wasn't expecting my hair to become straight in the process. My hair falls right down past my waist now. I didn't realize that my hair was really that curly before. "I-I'm really sorry about this," Giannini says. He seems to be nervous.

"It…should be alright," I reply slowly. I'm not too sure how to react. My poor hair… I let out a quiet sigh. This can be fixed. I'll just get a perm at some hair salon when I get the chance. I force a smile on my face. "I hope that I at least helped with finding a way to improve this… I should get going." I force myself to try and not get too bothered by this as I walk back to Hibari's side of the base.

Kusakabe told me last night that Sawada and the others were planning on taking a "Namimori Holiday" today. Apparently, that means that they're going to go out to town and take a break, so I decided to ask Giannini last night to help me to make an appointment for a perm at a hair salon in the shopping district that Bianchi suggested. I change into a black t-shirt, a pair of black shorts, and throw a white bunny-eared hoodie on before I pull on my black sneakers. I'm going to head out earlier than Sawada and the others with Hibari. I tie my hair up into a bun because I don't really want anyone to see my hair like this as I walk out my room. I find Hibari waiting outside of my room. "Sorry. Did I keep you waiting?" I ask. Hibari eyes my hoodie before shaking his head in response.

We walk out and end up at Namimori Shrine. I walk with Hibari towards town. It's awkwardly silent. "Are you planning on going to Nami Middle, Hibari-san?" I ask just to fill the silence.

He nods. "Of course."

I see the street ahead and as we get onto the road I say, "I'm going to head to the shopping district on my own if you don't mind, then. I'll see you later then, Hibari-san." I walk to the hair salon by myself.

After a few hours, my perm is complete and I lose a fairly large amount of my savings. I let out a quiet sigh as I walk out of the hair salon and into the afternoon sun. I wasn't able to replicate the large corkscrew curls that I used to have so now, my hair will be in loose curls until my hair grows back. I'm sure that it will take a very, very long time though. On the other hand, my hair might be a bit easier to manage now. Hopefully.

As I walk around the shopping district, I notice that some more boutiques for girls have opened up in the past ten years. I ended up buying a keychain with a little silver ribbon and a tiny bell on it. I look around for a bit, but I decide not to get anything. While I look around the shopping district, I find a little kid looking around timidly. She seems lost, but no one seems to be paying any attention to her since she isn't saying anything. This kind of reminds me of myself as a child. The little girl with dark hair and equally as dark eyes clutches her white dress tightly in anxiety. I decide walk up to her and couch down. "Hey, are you lost?" I ask. She nods, but she looks at me with a slightly scared expression. I smile at her gently. "Who are you looking for?"

Her voice is soft as she replies, "I-I'm looking for my mom…"

"When's the last time you saw her?"

"Um…a little while ago right around here…"

I nod. "Alright, then maybe your mom is still around here. I'll walk around the shopping district with you and we'll look for your mom together, okay?

She seems hesitant about following me. "Um…"

I smile a little. "I guess it's a weird thought to walk around with a stranger, right?" I ask. She nods. "I don't know if it'll help, but I guess I'll introduce myself. I'm Kasumi. I go to Nami Middle."

"Oh, Mom used to go there," she says. "I'm Kiriko…"

"Both our names have to do with mist," I comment.

She thinks about this for a while. "You're right," she says with a small smile.

"So, do you want to go look for your mother now?" I ask.

"I guess so," she replies. She seems to be a little more relaxed now. I'm kind of glad actually.

We start to walk around the shopping district and I turn to Kiriko, "If you see your mom, just let me know. I don't know what she looks like, so I'm counting on you to find her."

"Okay," she replies as she continues to scan the crowd. I spot Sawada and the others sitting around and eating food and I hope that they didn't see me before. Shoot. Were they really that nearby? They might have seen me…"Um…are you alright? You look a little worried suddenly," Kiriko says.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I say with a reassuring smile, "Sorry about that."

Kiriko looks around a little more. "I don't see mom…" She seems as though she's given up.

"Don't worry. I'm sure that we'll find her." Kiriko's stomach rumbles and she looks at me with wide eyes. I laugh a little. "Are you hungry?"

"N-No…"

"It's alright. I've haven't eaten yet either. Do you want to get something to eat?"

"I'm not hungry. Really…" she continues to insist. Her stomach grumbles again as she says this.

I spot a takoyaki stand not too far away. "Let's go get some takoyaki," I decide. I bring her over to the stand and I pay for two trays. I pass her one of the trays and she hesitates to eat it. "It's alright. Go ahead." She starts to eat. Satisfied now, I start to eat too.

We pretty much covered the whole shopping district. "It doesn't look like Mom's around…" Kiriko says a bit sadly.

"Let's try the police station then. It's right around here anyways. Maybe your Mom noticed that you were missing and decided to let the police know," I suggest. She nods and I walk into the police station with her. "I'm here with this young girl here who was separated from her mom in the shopping district. Has anyone stopped by looking for their daughter?" I ask the man behind the desk.

He shakes his head. "I'm sorry. No one has come about that," he replies. He smiles a little. "You did the right thing coming with this girl though," he praises.

"Huh?" I ask. "Oh…um… Thank you," I reply a bit hesitantly. I turn to Kiriko now. "Do you know your address? If you do, I can walk you back home. I don't really want to leave you like this…"

"Um, yeah!" Kiriko replies.

"Alright. I'll bring you back then," I say. I turn to the man behind the desk. "Thank you for your time."

In the end, I was able to find Kiriko's house. Kiriko runs straight to the door and rings the doorbell. I stand next to her. A young woman, who Kiriko doesn't really resemble somehow, opens the door and her eyes widen. "Kiriko! I was so worried about you!" she exclaims.

"Mom!" Kiriko exclaims as she goes to hug her mother.

"Are you the one who brought Kiriko back?" Kiriko's mom asks. I nod. "Thank you so much."

"It's alright. You don't have to thank me," I reply. "Well, I should get going." I turn to Kiriko and smile. "Bye, Kiriko."

"Oh, wait. Let me get something before you leave," Kiriko says. I nod and she runs up the staircase quickly and then comes back down after a minute. She hands me a bunny bread keychain on it. "Here, it's for you. It's just like your hoodie! Don't forget me, okay?"

I accept Kiriko's gift with a smile. "Well, I can't just receive a gift without giving one back since I'm older than you, now can I?" I say. I pull out the keychain with the silver ribbon and bell attached to it that I bought earlier. "Don't forget me either, okay?"

She smiles and accepts the gift. "It's a promise then."

"Right," I reply with a nod.

She beams at me with innocence that only a child. "Bye, Kasumi," she says with a wave. "Come play with me sometime." I want to say that I will, but I know that I shouldn't. I simply smile at her and wave back before leaving without a reply.

Eventually, I meet up with Sawada and the others as we all head back to the base. "Hey, I saw you talking with that kid before," the Storm Guardian says.

"Oh, I saw that too," Sawada says. "What happened Sato-san?"

"You guys looked like you could be siblings," the Rain Guardian says with a laugh.

"I didn't talk to a kid," I reply. I hold onto the soft bunny keychain in my pocket.

"You did! You were talking to some little kid like a creeper!" the Storm Guardian insists.

"Huh? I wouldn't say that. It looked like she was trying to help the kid," the Rain Guardian says.

"Like I said, I didn't speak to a kid. Besides, even if I were to, I wouldn't speak to them like a creeper, Storm Guardian. I'm sure that you're only assuming because that's what you would do," I retort.

Bianchi laughs a little and Sawada smiles as if he thought of something nice. "Sato-san really likes children after all…" Sawada mutters to himself quietly. I look away out of embarrassment.

I walk into my room and lift my black shoulder bag up. I pull the bunny keychain out of my pocket and attach it to my bag. I smile to myself before putting my bag back. Kiriko, huh? Don't forget about me, alright?
