Chapter 13

Anna was growing tired of having to limp; it had been years since she had to walk that slow, but she had to keep up the appearance that she had a hurt ankle, even though she didn't think that the boy, Neil wouldn't be much of a threat to her, she needed to find out where Odie was and she was fairly certain that the only way to do that was to let Neil take her to the school.

"We're almost there." Neil said looking at Anna and giving her a small smile.

Anna looked up at Odie and Krista and forced a smile back at them, "thank you."

Anna took a deep breath, with the limited powers that she had at the moment, she could smell Neil and Krista's blood, flowing through their veins, but she could also smell something else, something that smelled like broccoli when it was cooked for too long, it was vampire blood, that meant that Odie was in the school, although Anna had no idea where.

"Um Neil." Krista whispered and when Anna looked at her she saw that she had a nervous expression on her face.

"What's up?" Neil asked.

"I don't think you really thought this through…" Krista said trailing off as they stopped in front of a janitor's door.

"What do you mean?" Neil asked the confusion evident on his face.

"Anna," Krista asked looking at Anna, "would you excuse us for just a moment?"

"Sure." Anna said smiling, as she leaned against a wall, watching as Neil and Krista walked away, they were whispering and Krista looked slightly annoyed, Anna considered for a moment running away, but she wasn't sure if that would be the best idea right now.

"Anna…"Neil said walking back to where she was standing, "Krista just reminded me that the nurse isn't in today, so I'm afraid that I'll have to take you to the hospital."

Anna knew in that moment that she had no choice but to get away from these two so she could go and find Odie, she hated thinking of hurting Neil and Krista, since they had been kind enough to help her when they thought she was hurt but right now Anna knew that she had no choice, taking a deep breath and thinking of Chloe she let the limited powers that she had left overtake her.

"I don't think so!" Anna growled.

"What the?!" Neil asked surprised taking a step back as Anna got into a pouncing position, jumping on Neil trapping him.

"Krista run!" Neil demanded.

"I'm not leaving you!" Krista yelled tears streaming down her face.

"Run!" Neil yelled, Krista looked around for a moment looking for anything she could use as a weapon, but there wasn't anything around, looking back at Neil, she screamed as Anna punched Neil in the face knocking him out.

"Neil!" Anna cried.

Anna looked up at Krista smiling as she jumped at her Krista screamed as Anna trapped her just like she had done with Neil.

"I'm sorry…" Anna whispered before punching Krista in the face, knocking her out.

"OK Odie," Anna said standing up, "where are you?" She asked before running down the hallway of the school.

Atlanta smiled happily as she watched Archie helping Chloe over a log, Chloe's legs were healing from when Archie and Atlanta had hit her with their car but they still weren't one hundred percent.

"You OK?" Archie asked Chloe.

"I think so…" Chloe said, although she didn't sound totally sure.

"I'll give you guys a hand!" Atlanta called running over to the log standing behind Chloe just in case she needed some extra help.

"Thanks Atlanta." Chloe said looking behind her giving Atlanta a big smile.

"No problem." Atlanta said happily, and truth was she was happy, even though her, Archie and all the other heroes and their wives were in the middle of training to fight Cronus, Atlanta still had the one thing she always wanted, a daughter, and although Chloe wasn't her biological daughter she did think of her as a daughter, and Atlanta would do whatever it took to make sure that Chloe was safe no matter what.

"You did it!" Archie said giving Chloe a high five as she made it over the log.

"Thanks." Chloe said smiling.

"Maybe we should take a break." Atlanta suggested, noticing how tired Chloe looked.

"Sure." Archie said sitting on the log, patting the space next to him, "room for two more."

Atlanta and Chloe both laughed as they sat down beside Archie, Atlanta handed both of them a bottle of water from her bag.

"You know what?" Chloe asked putting her water down and putting an arm around Archie and Atlanta.

"What's that?" Atlanta asked.

"Meeting you two is the best thing that's ever happened to me."

Atlanta looked at Archie tears welling up in her eyes.

"Same goes for us." Atlanta said kissing Chloe's head, resting her head on Chloe's, Archie rested his head on Atlanta's, smiling happily, and he loved both of his girls with all of his heart.

Clarissa was starting to get really nervous; Anna had been gone for two months already, was she even alive? Cronus had contacted her several times demanding to speak to Anna, and each time she had had to tell him that Anna wasn't here, and now she was beginning to wonder if Cronus even believed her anymore, if Anna was dead then what would that mean for her daughter, Chloe and the rest of the world, would Cronus still escape? Clarissa wasn't sure what else to do, she had been reading more spell books, and she found a tracking spell, but she wasn't sure if it would take her to Anna, but at the moment maybe taking the chance was her only option.

Opening her spell book Clarissa flipped to the spell that she had book marked, reading the spell over again she took a deep breath waving her hand in the air making a portal of a school appear, could that be where Anna is? Clarissa wondered to herself.

"Anna!" Cronus' voice came from the necklace, "Anna!" are you there?!" he sounded really angry tonight, Clarissa decided that looking in this school was her only option, her and Anna were both on Cronus' bad side right now, and she had to know if Anna was still even alive.

"Please be OK…" Clarissa whispered to herself jumping through the portal.

Theresa smiled happily as Jay rolled over in bed putting his arm around her, and kissing her shoulder.

"Good morning." Theresa said turning her head so that she could kiss Jay.

"Good morning." Jay said, Theresa turned her head and Jay rested his face in Theresa's soft hair, for a long moment neither of them moved.

"Your phone's going off." Jay said sounding slightly disappointed since he knew that Theresa would answer her phone in case it was her Father.

Sighing Theresa sat up getting out of bed, walking to her purse where she left her cell phone, taking it out she pressed a couple of buttons and then sighed looking at Jay sadly.

"I forgot I have a class with Persephone in 15 minutes."

"Can't you miss it?" Jay asked sounding hopeful, taking Theresa off guard.

"You want me to miss a class with Persephone?" Theresa asked hardly believing the words coming out of her mouth, "even though it would probably help us stop Cronus from escaping?"

Jay knew that Theresa was right, and if Theresa could shapeshift she needed all the practice she could get, but they hardly got any time alone together and Jay didn't want to have to leave the motel, because he wasn't sure when the next time they would get to have another night like the night they had had last again.

"I'm sorry." Theresa said taking her clothes from the chair and walking into the bathroom, closing the door.

"You don't have to apologize." Jay said taking the t-shirt off that he slept in and putting on a black sweater, "if anyone should it's Cronus."

"Well you know you're never going to get an apology out of him." Theresa said through the bathroom door.

Jay chuckled as he put his jeans on, followed by his socks, and then walked over to the mirror in the room making sure he looked OK, Theresa walked out of the bathroom a few moments later, wearing a pink sweater, with jeans, and her hair up in a ponytail.

"You're so beautiful." Jay said pulling Theresa into a hug.

"And you're so handsome." Theresa said standing on her tiptoes so that they could kiss.

"This is so unfair!" Jay said loudly after their kiss ended, sitting on the bed putting his face in his hands, Theresa didn't ask Jay what he was talking about, since she felt the exact same way as Jay.

"I know." Theresa said sitting down beside Jay putting her arm around him.

"I just want to marry you, start a family and finally settle down, but Cronus is going to ruin that… again!"

"Jay I know it sucks, but maybe with any luck we'll stop him before he can break out of Tarturas." Theresa said sounding hopeful, but truth was she was scared she really didn't want to have to fight Cronus again.

"We should have gotten married right away." Jay said after a few moments of silent.

"What?" Theresa asked being taken off guard.

"That way we could have had a family by now, and we wouldn't have to postpone our wedding and break my parents' hearts, and your Father's."

Theresa took Jay's hand and looked into his deep chocolate brown eyes, "Jay, I love you, and I'm glad that we waited to be honest, who says that we have to be married right away, besides incase you forgot Archie and Atlanta just got married last year, Herry and Gisele a couple of years ago, and Neil and Krista a year and a half ago, it's not like they rushed into it, and I'm glad we don't have children right now…" Theresa trailed off as she tried to think of how to word this next part.

"Neil, Krista, Gisele, Herry, and Archie and Atlanta are all so scared about their children if Cronus breaks out of Tarturas, you and I have enough on our plates and dealing with a child would just complicate things, since I really don't think that I'd be able to turn into a wolf if I had to constantly worry about a child, and you're still the leader, do you honestly think you'd be able to lead us if you had to worry about a child?"

Jay thought about this for a moment, and then rested his head gently on Theresa's shoulder, "I guess you're right…"

Theresa still sensed that Jay was upset, she got off the bed kneeling in front of Jay taking his hands, "I love you, and one way or another we'll get our happily ever after, and everything will be OK."

"I sure hope you're right." Jay said looking down at the ground.

Theresa tilted Jay's head up so that he was looking at her, "everything will be OK in the end, if it's not OK it's not the end."

Jay smiled kissing Theresa again.

"I have to get going." Theresa said realizing that she and Jay had been talking for over ten minutes, "I'm already going to be late!"

"You go, I'll check out."

"Thanks Jay," Theresa said standing up and kissing his cheek, "I love you, and I'll see you later!" Theresa called running out the door hopping in her car and driving off.

When Theresa made it to the school, she sensed something wasn't right, but she hadn't had any visions so she just passed it off as nervousness since she was about ten minutes late to her class with Persephone and she hated it when she had to wait. Running inside the school and hurrying to the janitor's closet, Theresa stopped dead in her tracks as she saw Neil lying on the ground unconscious.

"Neil?!" Theresa cried running to him kneeling down beside him gasping when she saw the large bruise on his face, Theresa looked around gasping again noticing Krista, Theresa got up running over to her noticing the same bruise on her face.

"What happened here?" Theresa asked herself taking out her cellphone and beginning to dial Jay's number, when all of a sudden Theresa found herself on the ground with a throbbing pain in her head.

"Ouch." Theresa said touching her head and gasping in surprise when she saw there was blood there.

"You know I really didn't want to have to do that," came a female voice, but Theresa couldn't see who it was, "but I can't have you ruining my plan."

"Who are you?" Theresa asked standing up carefully, so she wouldn't fall, she felt quite dizzy at the moment.

The mysterious woman stepped into view, but Theresa didn't recognize her, "Who are you?" Theresa asked again.

"Never mind who I am." The mysterious woman said harshly, "now you're going to help me."

"Help you with what?"

The mysterious woman laughed, and then walked over to Neil picking him up, "you're going to help me break Odie out of here or else I'm going to kill your friend here."

"Let him go!" Theresa demanded taking out her nun chucks that she had begun carrying around with her in case of an emergency, she decided turning into a wolf wasn't the best idea right now, she wasn't very good at it yet and she didn't want to risk hurting Neil, or Krista, or herself.

"Only if you help me." The mysterious woman said taking a knife out of her pocket and holding it up to Neil's neck, "now do we have a deal?"

Theresa looked at Neil, and then at the mysterious woman, and Theresa knew that if she tried to fight her then she would kill Neil before Theresa could even hit her with the nun chucks, Theresa sighed dropping her nun chucks.

"Is that a yes?" The mysterious woman asked

Theresa took a deep breath looking up at the woman as tears filled up in her eyes, "yes…" she finally said.

"Excellent." The mysterious woman said laughing.
