Haha, I'm a lazy updater~ I want to do my best to make sure that it is consistent with the book so I'll probably be slowing down because of that. Anyways, I thank everyone who has reviewed, followed or favorited (Did I do this too late?)

Anyhow, on with the story!

' . . .' thinking

". . ." talking

Ed grumbled in front of the wall. What the hell? The geezer must have been pulling his leg! Was he suppose to break a magical ward or something? Damnit! Pinako couldn't come and both Winry and Al didn't believe that friggen shoe would bring them here. No choice, Ed ditched them.

"Damnit, friggen wards. . ." he groaned and ruffled the top of his head- ignoring his braid. "Argh! Why did I agree to this again?" he grumpily pulled out the braid and started to rebraid it. Casually, he leaned against his luggage and watched the others.

The blond noticed a dark haired male with a snowy white owl in a cage and startling green eyes also looking around confused with his big luggage. Based off his rigid movement, he seemed to be having the same problem. But then, the boy turned to a family of red-heads. Ed quickly pulled his suitcase along to catch up.

"Excuse me, are you looking for platform nine and three-quarters?" Ed "politely" asked. He just wanted to get along with it honestly. Based off the reading of the books, magic seemed to have proved its usefulness. It could be a nice alternate to alchemy. Still, alchemy ruled above magic for sure.

The woman smiled and kindly nodded, "You shouldn't go around asking just anybody. I might have been a muggle for all you know."

Ed mentally scoffed, 'yea, so?'

Then she turned to the dark haired boy and the red head again and reassured him, "All you have to do is walk straight at the barrier between platforms nine and ten. Don't stop and don't be scared you'll crash into it, that's very important. Best do it at a bit of a run if you're nervous. Don't worry, its Ron's first time too. Just go along with Harry first before Ron. . .um?"

"Edward, Ed is fine."

The woman smiled gently and pointed to the barrier, "Uh. . .these magical wards can't hurt right?" Ed cautiously eyed the barrier in front of him. 'Wasn't I just here?'

"Its specially enchanted, just have to walk through. If you are afraid, just run through."

Ed noted the two boys- Ron and Harry- deciding the run while he tried to casually melt through the barrier.

It worked and he found himself in a totally different platform with their trolleys. The train before him was scarlet in color and he noticed the many children bidding their parents farewell. The sound of screeching animes almost drove him nuts!

He noticed that the two boys and the woman along with her daughter followed after him. He inclined his head to show gratitude to the woman and muttered a quiet, "thanks."

He took another second to notice that she responded and stalked off onto the train. He pushed through multiple compartments before he found an empty one. Ever so gracefully, he flopped on one of the seats, put down his suitcase and pulled out 'Daily Magical Spells for Magical Outcomes!' and opened up to a random page. 1 page into the book, the door was opened by the dark haired boy. He struggled with his trunk before 2 redheads- twins- helped his with it.

"Thanks," the boy replied and swept his hair up with his hand.

What's that?" said one of the twins suddenly, pointing to boy's head.

"Blimey," said the other twin. "Are you?"

"He is," said the first twin. "Aren't you?" he added to the boy.

"What?" asked the boy, confused.

"Harry Potter, "chorused the twins.

"Oh, him," said Harry. "I mean, yes, I am."

Ed was able to tell that the boy was obviously uncomfortable so he spoke up, or tried to.

"Fred, George are you there?" another voice called down from the hall.

"Yes mother~" Ed saw them turn back to look at the boy- Harry- one last time before hopping off the train.

"What was that about?" Ed smoothly asked before the boy actually turned his head around. He looked surprised and kind of embarrassed that another person was already inside the compartment but then his face contorted into a frown.

"If you were already in here, why couldn't you have helped me with my trunk?" Ed merely shrugged and pointedly continued to stare him in the face. "Oh, um. . .Apparently I'm some sort of amazing person in the wizarding world for killing off- or causing the death of- Volde- I mean You-Know-Who."

Ed continued to stare but then his attention was directed back outside where the red headed family was gathered. He noticed that the youngest child seemed to cry out in surprise and exclaim that she wanted to see 'Harry Potter.'

Ed pointed to the boy, "Harry Potter?" The boy nodded- seemingly surprised that Ed hadn't cried out in shock or jumped. Ed just nodded and jerked his thumb towards his chest, "Edward Elric, Ed is fine. Nice to meet you."

Then the train had started to move, Harry stared out of the windows at the flashing images past. Ed just stuck his nose back into the book and continued to read. Then, the door opened once again. The second youngest redhead- assumingly- opened the door and awkwardly stood there.

"Is anyone else sitting here?" he acknowledged Edward but looking in his direction but when he realized that he was being ignored, he turned back to Harry.

Harry shook his head and patted the seat right next to him. He didn't know if Ed wanted the redhead to sit next to him. Ed barely registered the twins coming back in the compartment and talking about some stupid spider or something. When the twins finally left, he looked back up and stared at the redhead across from him.

The redhead seemed to have taken the hint and replied, "Ron Weasley." Ed nodded in acknowledgement and gave him the same greeting he had given to the Harry kid. Then, he ignored them up until the Ron kid asked him a question.

"Are you from a muggle family, Ed?"

Ed absently remembered that muggle was a word apparently for non-magic people- 'name calling now?'

"Nah, more like half- scratch that. I've lived with non magical people since I was young. According to the headmaster or something, my mom was a witch but I don't know much about that either."

The two boys nodded and took that information in their heads. "Well then, neither of you need to worry, there are many people from the muggle families that are in Hogwarts and they learn quickly enough."

Then, their door was pulled open by a smiling lady with a cart, "Would you boys like anything off of the cart?"

Harry jumped up and trotted outside to the corridor where the cart was and looked through the many snacks. Ed noticed that the other boy stayed behind and against his better judgement, he offered to buy the boy a snack. The boy looked sure damn surprised but Ed ignored his stutters and joined Harry at the cart.

Misty had come back to them sometime before Ed came to the friggen train with like. . .a huge pouch of weird currency so Ed didn't have to rely on the old man to buy stuff for them. Ed reasonably grabbed Bettie Bott's Every Flavor Beans and Chocolate Frogs. He watched as Harry pulled things off the shelves and paid the woman before returning to his seat. He tossed one of the chocolate frogs at Ron who was gawking at Harry who was pulling snacks after snacks. The boy stammered out an awkward reply and offered Ed his sandwich in return and Ed just frowned. If the boy didn't like it, did he think Ed would? Weird kid.

Harry came back with his huge pile of snacks and sat down. He then offered to trade Ron and quite "forcibly" did it too. They started on the many snacks that Harry bought while Ed only nibbled small pieces of it- like hell if he was going to get a stomachache with these foreign foods.

Harry then lifted up his pack of Chocolate Frogs and glanced warily at it. "Uh, these aren't real frogs right?"

"No, but you should see what card it has."

"There is no way that they would give real frogs as snacks," Ed sensibly added in and ripped his package open and revealed a chocolate frog with a card underneath it. Harry had also already opened his and stared at the moving picture of the old man. Ed looked at his own card and looked at the picture of the blond male with penetrating golden eyes.

Auroleus Phillipus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim. (1493–?)

Alchemical genius. He is credited with the discovery of Parseltongue. He believed every human needed a balance of minerals and metals in their body and he was the first to use minerals and metals as medicine. Known as Paracelsus.

Ed stared amused at the short introduction that they had on the particular card- 'an alchemist on a magical card? Never thought Dad's achievements even spread this far. . .'

He turned the card around again and his old man waved at him and then disappeared off the side. 'Weird.'

The two other boys were cheering over some other card that Harry got. Ed leaned over to look at Dumbledore's card that was missing a picture.

"You can't expect him to stay, its natural that he's gone. Don't worry he'll come back." Then Ron cursed a card that he got and continued to chatter with Harry and started to rip open other cards.

"Nicholas Flamel? Dumbledore knew him?" Ed frowned and read the back of the card a second time. Both boys were surprised at the show of interest. Throughout the ride so far, all Ed did was to reply to question addressed to him.

"What do you know about him Ed?" Harry curiously inquired. Ed returned to his seat and frowned. He wasn't sure about what to say but then decided that he wasn't going to lose anything anyways.

"Basically, Nicholas Flamel created a philosopher's stone along with Dumbledore- as you can see on the card. He is the only known person who created it and he used alchemy to achieve his goals. Judging from what I read from one of your books, your alchemy seems to be a different form than the one I am used to.

"Based off what I read, it seems like he is very well known and is currently living with his wife. He attended Beauxbatons Academy of Magic as a kid, and he also created the "holy grail of alchemy." Got it from this book, quite detailed explanation, " Ed lifted up 'Alchemy; The Dying Art' from his suitcase. He waiting patiently for the kids to process the information that he had supplied them.

"Is this stone important though? The holy grail of alchemy. . .what does that mean?" Ron pondered what Ed had told him. The stone apparently was the only thing that was mentioned that Dumbledore and Flamel did together. . . alchemically.

Ed bit his lips reluctantly. Judging from what he read, it seemed better for the philosopher's stone to remain a secret for now. So, he shrugged. "Not too much, its all about detail in the end."

After that discussion, the boys had continued to pour at Harry's supply of snacks and apparently its a good thing Ed didn't bother with the jelly beans. He sat comfortably reading on the bench when someone else came in.

It was a round faced boy that was panicked about losing his toad and after he left, Ron complained about his pet being a rat. Then the door opened again.

It was a girl with bushy brown hair and apparently she was looking for someone's toad or something. She was also with the round faced boy who came along again. Ed absentmindedly thought back to the chocolate frog he ate. She looked toward the wand that Ron had raised over his toad. She ignored the boy's response and gestured for him to start his spell. Interested, Ed peeked over his page from the book. He hadn't seen much magic yet either.

"Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, Turn this stupid, fat rat yellow, "Ron chanted the spell- was it one?- but nothing happened. The girl frowned and looked skeptical.

"Are you sure that that is a real spell? Doesn't sound like one. I've tried a few simple spells just for practice and it's all worked for me. Nobody in my family's magic at all, it was ever such a surprise when I got my letter, but I was ever so pleased, of course, I mean, it's the very best school of witchcraft there is, I've heard - I've learned all our course books by heart, of course, I just hope it will be enough - I'm Hermione Granger, by the way, who are you?"

The two boys introduced themselves to Hermione first while Ed continued to stare at the sleeping rat. Ignoring Hermione's comment about how famous Harry Potter was, Ed raised his wand from his pocket and pointed it at the toad. He mumbled a quiet spell and was quite astonished to see that it had worked.

The two boys and the girl looked at him in surprise. Ron looked flustered while Hermione looked proud, "I guess you have learned this spell already? You are?"

"Edward, just call me Ed."

"Well then, see you guys around. Hopefully in Gryffindor, that's the house I want to be in anyways, either that or Ravenclaw, " then she left- taking the boy with her.

Then, Ron and Harry turned back to each other and started talking about the houses and a weird sounding sport before the compartment opened again. Ed mentally groaned at all the damn intruders.

This time, it was a blond boy with his hair slicked back with two thick boys standing guard at his side. He also started to ask about Harry and Ed absentmindedly wondered if he could get peace if he kicked Harry out. Ed heard him as he introduced himself as Draco Malfoy and the two other fools as Crabbe and Goyle. He seemed to have some sort of problem with Ron's family and he ignored Ed's presence for the entire time he talked with Harry.

One of the big guys reached for one of the chocolate frogs and was instead bit by Ron's "useless" yellow rat. Then after that, the three boys disappeared.

Hermione popped her head back in while Ron checked over his rat and told Harry on what he heard about Malfoy's family. She told them to change into their robes because they were going to arrive soon.

"We would if you could leave," Ed bluntly cut her off and stared at her while she huffed and left their compartment. Ed and the two other boys took off their jackets and pulled out their standard robes and draped them over. There was then an announcement that told them to leave their luggage behind in the compartment. Ed scribbled his name on a piece of tape and slapped it over his suitcase- just in case.

Finally they had arrived at the station and both Harry and Ron looked as worried as they could be. However, in Ed's case, he just walked forward to the loud voice calling out for the first years- I mean, Ed was a first year wasn't he?

Yay~ I tried to make this one a long chapter~

I'll try to make longer ones in the future, a lot of the parts aren't changed so I decided not to add useless detail that aren't too important. I'll get next chapter up ASAP~

Once again, I thank those who have reviewed! Love you all!

Oh, as for grammer or spelling mistakes, if you find some very distracting ones, please tell me! Oh, and what is the expected word count for a chapter? First time doing this you see. . .
