Chapter 15
Hera sighed as she pet one of her peacocks, before feeding him some seeds. As he ate he spread out his tail feathers, a sign that he was happy.
"Well, I'm glad you're happy." Hera whispered, a lump growing in her throat, she couldn't stop thinking about Odie, him turning into a vampire was never supposed to happen, but Cronus had taken everyone off guard by kidnapping Theresa's Father, and forcing her to play his game. Which of course had started the whole chain of events, which eventually resulted in Odie's death, or rather, causing him to turn into a vampire. Hera sighed sitting down at her desk, looking at the picture of the seven heroes that she kept on her desk and wiping away a tear.
"Hera!" Atlanta's frantic voice screamed as she ran through the door, followed by, Archie who was carrying Krista, and Herry who was carrying Neil, both of whom were still unconscious, Krista hurried in next carrying Taylor, and Giselle, and Chloe ran in last.
"What's going on?!" Hera demanded looking at Neil and Krista, "what happened to them?!"
"They were attacked by someone, although we're not sure who." Archie admitted.
"Also Jay and Theresa have been taken!" Atlanta said.
"Hermes!" Hera yelled, and a second later Hermes flew through the door.
"Yes ma'am?" He asked.
"Quickly go get Chiron, Zeus and Persephone!"
Hermes didn't ask any questions, as he flew out of the room, as quickly as he could.
Theresa groaned as she turned her head, she had a pounding headache, and she felt so weak.
"Theresa?" Jay whispered, "Theresa, can you hear me?"
Theresa tried a few times to open her eyes, but because of her headache, and with how weak she felt it was difficult for her. Even if she just opened her eyes a little, the light burned them, but finally she was able to force open her eyes.
"Jay?" Theresa whispered, surprised when she saw that he was across from her, and wasn't trying to get over to her, it wasn't until Theresa's eyes finally focused that she saw why, he had a chain around his ankle. Theresa tried to move but she was far too weak.
"Odie put a silver bracelet on your wrist." Jay said when he noticed that Theresa was trying to move but was far too weak.
"Odie?" Theresa asked as she looked at her hand that was resting on her stomach, and sure enough a silver bracelet was on her wrist, that would be why Theresa was feeling so weak.
"What happened?" Theresa asked slightly disoriented.
"We were kidnapped by Odie and his friend, Anna." Jay whispered.
Theresa gasped as everything started coming back to her, the mysterious girl, who Theresa now knew was Anna forcing her to open the janitor's closet, and then twisting her arm, and threatening Jay to make Theresa set Odie free. Theresa groaned as her head started throbbing worse.
"Are you alright?" Jay asked concerned.
Theresa turned her head to look at Jay, "I need to take this off."
Jay didn't have to ask Theresa what she meant, "can you do it?"
"I'll try…" Theresa said, taking her hand off her stomach, which took a lot more effort than she thought it would, she then lifted her other hand and touched the bracelet, but as soon as her other hand touched it she screamed in agony as it burned.
"Theresa!" Jay cried, trying to walk over to her, but the chain on his ankle was attached to the wall.
"Aww did she hurt herself?" Odie asked mockingly walking into the room where Jay and Theresa were being held.
"Odie, this isn't you!" Jay said.
Odie laughed, "Now it is, and you can thank your girlfriend for that."
"She didn't do anything to you!" Jay screamed.
Odie once again laughed, "she's the reason I died, and became this… this monster!"
"I told Jay to let you live." Theresa whispered.
"Like Jay would let you die." Odie said sarcastically.
"I didn't want either of you to die." Jay said defensively, a lump growing in his throat as he remembered the day he had almost lost them both.
"Do you think I'm an idiot?!" Odie screamed at Jay, before jumping at him he put his hand on his throat.
"Jay…" Theresa whispered, her face full of fear.
"I know that I was always the weak link in the seven of us, and that I was the least favourite."
"That's not true…" Jay said his voice full of fear.
"Oh I think it is!" Odie said, "You don't know what it feels like to be weak and pathetic, but soon you will." Odie said before he bit Jay's throat and started sucking his blood.
Anna walked into the room; she looked at Odie who was sucking Jay's blood and rolled her eyes.
"Odie, please don't hurt him…" Theresa begged, she tried to move but the bracelet that she had on made her too weak, a part of Anna wanted to take if off of Theresa, but she also couldn't risk her turning into a werewolf and attack them.
Just then Theresa's and Anna's eyes locked.
"Please, help him…" Theresa pleaded her eyes filling with tears.
Anna looked away from Theresa, Jay was on the verge of passing out.
"Enough!" Anna screamed.
Odie stopped and looked at Anna annoyed.
"You've made your point, he's weak and pathetic."
Odie growled, turning his attention back to Jay.
"We need them alive." Anna reminded him.
Odie once again growled before he dropped Jay, he fell to the ground and passed out.
"Why don't we just kill them and get it over with?!" Odie demanded.
"Because that's not who we are." Anna said simply.
"We're vampires!" Odie screamed, he was really angry now.
"If you're still hungry," Anna said in a calm yet still eerie voice, "then go and hunt a squirrel."
"Oh that'll taste good." Odie said sarcastically.
"Leave." Anna said simply.
Odie growled at her once more before running out of the room.
"Thank you." Theresa said to Anna.
"I didn't do it for you." Anna said.
"Who did you do it for?" Theresa asked.
Anna scowled at Theresa before walking to the door; before she walked out she turned around to face her and sighed, "I did it for my daughter." She said before walking out of the room and slamming the door behind her.
Chiron had checked out Neil and Krista, and they were fine, head cuts for the most part always looked a lot worse than they were, they were awake now, and Krista was even holding Taylor.
The rest of the heroes were standing around trying to decide what their next move would be, neither Jay or Theresa had their PMR's, which meant that they could be anywhere, and if Persephone couldn't sense where they were then the heroes would have to search for them, but that would take time, and time was something they didn't have.
"Anything, Persephone?" Neil asked eagerly for the fifth time in as many minutes.
Persephone sighed opening her eyes, "you need to stop interrupting me," Persephone said annoyed, "I keep losing my concentration."
Neil walked away from her sitting down beside Herry and Gisele. Tim was sleeping in a car seat, Krista repositioned Taylor and put a hand on Neil's shoulder, he was feeling so bad about not being able to help Theresa when the mysterious woman had forced her into the janitor's closet.
"It's OK," Krista whispered.
"I should have helped her." Neil said putting his face in his hands.
"Neil, you were attacked and knocked out," Atlanta pointed out.
"Still, I came to just as Theresa was forced into the janitor's closet, I could have saved her," Neil trailed off, "I should have saved them both."
Atlanta and Archie looked at each other, neither of them sure what to say, Chloe walked over to Atlanta and hugged her, Krista started rubbing Neil's back, and Herry and Gisele sat there quietly waiting for Persephone to finish with her vision.
"I can't sense them…" She finally said.
"Are you sure?" Hera asked.
Persephone nodded her head sadly.
"So what do we do now?" Atlanta asked.
"Neither one of them had their PMR's?" Zeus asked.
"No." Archie said.
"Cronus is going to be escaping tomorrow," Herry said, "We have to find them!"
"But they disappeared through a portal, they could be anywhere." Atlanta pointed out.
"This is a total nightmare…" Herry said.
"Well if Campe can stop Cronus then we'll be OK." Hera said.
"Maybe Hades and I should go there too, just for some extra help." Persephone suggested.
"That's a good idea." Hera agreed.
"Then I'd better get going." Persephone said before turning to the others, "Good luck everyone!"
"You too, Persephone." Atlanta said forcing a smile.
Persephone quickly hurried out of the room.
"So what do we do?" Herry asked, "Sit around and wait for Cronus to escape?"
Gisele and Krista looked at each other, "what did you guys do years ago when Cronus escaped?" Krista asked.
"The gods found us and we started our journey to defeat Cronus." Archie said.
"But there were seven of us." Atlanta said.
"And right now there are seven of us." Gisele pointed out.
Herry, Neil, Archie, and Atlanta looked at each other unsure of what to do, they really didn't want their loved ones to have to fight, but they had been practicing fighting for the past few months.
"You're not the original seven, but I think that it could work." Hera said.
"Are you guys sure you really want to fight?" Herry asked, walking over to Gisele, "it's going to be dangerous."
"Yeah I don't want to see anyone getting hurt." Archie said.
"Fighting Cronus isn't easy." Atlanta said.
"Well Krista, Chloe and I will practice until the tomorrow." Gisele said.
"Are you guys absolutely sure about this?" Neil asked unsure.
"Yes!" Krista, Gisele, and Chloe said at the same time.
"Then you guys had better go and start practicing your fighting." Zeus said.
Gisele, Krista and Chloe ran out of the room. Once they were gone Atlanta, Archie, Herry, and Neil turned to Hera and Zeus.
"Archie and I will go and try to find Theresa and Jay." Atlanta said.
"Alright," Hera said, "but be careful."
"We will!" Archie and Atlanta said at the same time before running out of the room.
"Neil and I will go help Gisele, Krista, and Chloe."
Hera nodded her head as the remaining two heroes walked out of the room.
"The planets are set to align tomorrow night," Zeus said.
Hera sighed, "I know, "all that we can do is hope that Campe, Persephone and Hades are able to stop him."
Zeus nodded his head in agreement and took Hera's hand, neither one of them was sure what was going to happen this time if Cronus escaped, and neither one of them really wanted to find out.
