I end up in my room, but the door and window is sealed by the illusions. I get set down by Daemon Spade and I look at him, but I don't know what to say. I set the bag of books down on the floor and I notice that I'm shaking a bit. "You really did plan this out very well. I was almost hoping that I'd be placed in the movie theater," I comment as calmly as I can manage to sound.
"Of course. You and I both know that if I put you there, you'd surely find a way to break out," he replies.
I smile a little. "Well, I'm glad that you see me as strong enough to do that, but I can't help but wonder what you plan on doing with me," I reply. I hear my heart pounding in my ears. I'm too scared. "You noticed that they don't really care for me, didn't you?" I ask. "Though, since I'm not part of their family, I don't see why they would be." Maybe if I can convince him to let me go… I can help them…
"Oh? It seems different to me," Daemon Spade replies. I raise my eyebrows, but I don't respond. I can't use the fact that the other Guardians don't know me very well to try and take myself out of this situation.
"But that aside," I start. "I was wondering why you would use people dear to Sawada-san as motive to meet your commands if that in itself contradicts your demands. You're telling them to ditch anyone that is weak, but your hostages are the ones who are weak. They're only motivation is to save the weak ones then, isn't it?"
Daemon Spade seems to consider this. "It would be the only way to force them into submission," he replies.
I nod. "You should know that Sawada-san is a weird one though. He's not as weak as he seems."
"Are you part of his family then? You say otherwise, but you're implying it."
I shake my head. "I'm not part of his family, but life is just a game of survival of the fittest. To me, it seemed that the only way to survive was to side with him for the time being." I laugh. "I've seen what he and his Family can do, and I think that you will soon as well." His eyes widen a little and I know that Sawada and the others have managed to get the upper hand. I close my eyes.
I can hear the others faintly in the theater. "It seems like you're the only one who is still trapped," Daemon Spade comments. So they all managed to break out. That's a relief. I nod. "It seems that your lover has appeared," he comments.
My lover? "Huh? What are you talking about?" I ask.
"A man who took the place of Chrome," he replies.
My eyes widen. "What? Mukuro-sama?" I ask. "Eh? What makes you think that I'm his lover?" How would someone come to that conclusion?
I look as an illusion appears next to Daemon Spade. Mukuro says, "I was observing for a while, but taking my Kasumi hostage is pushing it too far."
The illusion disappears and I look back at Daemon Spade. "That's normal behavior. It's been like that since I was a child." I smile a little. "I would suggest that you give your undivided attention to the battle now though. Of course, I won't protest if you don't."
He looks at me seriously and seems to consider it. He disappears and I walk over to the door. It's only a matter of time until he gets defeated now. I hear a large explosion. It sounds like Sawada won the battle. The barrier doesn't disappear though. I sigh. I forgot that Daemon Spade doesn't actually have a body to be defeated. What I was talking to was actually just his will that lives inside of the rings. He's still around somewhere.
He appears again in my room. "It seems that my words were wasted on him," he says. "Let's return you to your lover."
"I told you that he isn't-" I start. He grabs me again, but luckily I don't get thrown over his shoulder. I'm frozen in shock though. Why does it seem as though I'm being hugged?!
It sounds like we reappeared somewhere. I can't tell though because all I can see his Damon Spade's shirt. "I'd ask you release my Kasumi right now," I hear Mukuro say. I guess that I'm in the movie theater then.
Daemon Spade laughs. "She seems to be enjoying herself though," he replies.
"What?" Mukuro asks. "For your sake, I hope that you haven't possessed her."
"I didn't," Daemon Spade replies. He pats my head. It's weird though, it feels a bit affectionate. It's not what I'd expect from him. There has to be some sort of information that I'm missing. Is it that I remind him someone that he loved? I wonder if that could be right, but I can't tell. I finally manage to regain my composure and I look up at him questioningly. He smiles, and it looks different from the smirks from before. "I'd suggest that you take better care of your lover, Vonogla the Tenth's Mist Guardian."
Hibari asks, "Who said that Kasumi was his?"
Daemon Spade looks towards where I assume is Hibari. He seems amused. "So that's how it is." He turns back to where I think Mukuro is and says, "It seems that you've already started to see the effects of not taking good enough care of her. Like I said, you should pay more attention, or she'll get stolen from you one day." He looks at me now. "Well, I should be on my way then."
I freeze up again as I get kissed by Daemon Spade. "Eh?!" I shout. I jump back and he chuckles.
"How dare you toy with my precious Kasumi like that," Mukuro says. It looks like his anger is barely being contained. Hibari looks like he's about to attack Daemon Spade too.
I decide to pretend that nothing just happened. "It was interesting chatting with you, and I appreciate that I wasn't harmed," I say to Daemon Spade with a smile.
"S-She recovered so quickly," I hear the Rain Guardian mutter.
Miura comments quietly, "I-It seems a bit like a drama…"
"It seems like I'm missing a vital piece of information for your actions to make sense though. I hope that I'm able to find out and understand one day," I admit.
I wonder if he's pretending that nothing happened too because of the lack of response to what he did. He nods. "Perhaps."
"I see," I reply. So there's a chance to make sense of all this madness. I continue to smile a little. "Thank you very much." Watching Daemon Spade and Vongola Primo talk to each other, I really feel like there's a piece of information missing.
Ken and Chickusa burst into the room. "Ah! I was right! It was you guys!" Ken shouts. "What are you trying to do, making our base disappear?!"
"Could you explain?" Chikusa asks in his usual monotone voice as he trails behind Ken, who is storming towards Sawada.
"Ken, Chikusa, wait," I say. They stop.
"What is it Kasumi?" Chikusa asks.
I reply, "It wasn't Sawada-san's fault and nothing was damaged, so it's fine. Everything was taken care of."
Dokuro runs over to us. "Ken, Chikusa, Kasumi." She looks to the floor. "Sorry…"
Ken gasps, "Eh?"
"She's back to normal," Chikusa comments.
"T-The next time you start crying again, I'll let you have it good!" Ken declares. I chuckle.
Dokuro smiles. "Okay." It seems like things are going back to normal.
I walk over to Sawada and his Guardians. "Oh! Are you alright, Sato-san?" Sawada asks.
I nod. "Yes. I'm fine," I reply. I bow a little bit. "Thank you again for your help," I say.
"Lambo-san did a great job!" Lambo exclaims happily.
I smile a little and nod. "Yes, you did well Lambo. Thanks," I reply.
"Henchman! Give Lambo-san food!" Lambo demands happily as he jumps from the Sun Guardian's head to me.
I catch him. "Okay, okay. I get it. What would you like, Lambo?"
Sawada scolds, "Lambo!"
"No, it's alright. Do any of you want anything too?" I ask. I at least owe them this much.
I wake up early the next morning and walk to the temple with Ken and Chikusa. I nod. "Well, I'll see you later then," I say.
"Yeah," Chikusa replies.
"There'd better still be food in the fridge," Ken warns.
I laugh. "Yeah, I made sure to prepare more. Don't worry." I grin at them.
Ken and Chikusa start to walk off. "We're heading home then." I sit there by myself until the others show up. We all go back to the future one by one.
When we get back to the future, Spanner turns to me after telling us that it's only been ten minutes. "Ah, someone named Fran came for you," he says.
"Huh? Me?" I ask. I stare at him blankly for a second. "Ah, that's right." I nod. "Okay. Where is he?"
"He's waiting for you outside," Spanner replies.
I nod and shoulder my bag properly. "Thanks. I'll be heading off on my own then." I head outside without another word. It's time to meet up the older Ken and Chikusa.
