"You're hearing sounds, Harry?" Al frowned when he heard Harry talking to Ron and Hermione.

"Uh, yea. I was with Lockhart and his stupid detention when I heard something whispering but Lockhart didn't hear it at all!" Harry elaborated and stepped toward Ron to allow Al into their conversation- ignoring both Hermione and Ron.

"He didn't hear it? Maybe it was just too quiet for Lockhart to hear if you heard whispering."

"Well, even if I did say it was whispering. . .it didn't really sound that quiet."

"Maybe you were just tired! I mean, Lockhart kept having you sign letters right? Must've gotten tiring fast and might have got to you," Ron suggested.

Hermione reluctantly agreed with Ron and left Al to ponder on his own. While it was certainly likely for Harry to certainly be mistaking that voice for something else, Al had his own reasons for doubting that. Even though he heard it was a generally safe school, judging by what he heard from brother, it certainly isn't as safe as they all thought it was.

However, Al sighed, he had nothing to base this off of. During the entire day, Al heard of nothing strange or out of the ordinary and he wasn't sure what time Harry heard of the voices. It could also have been that Professor Lockhart was extremely distracted by whatever.

"Ah, I forgot to ask Harry what was it that the voice was saying. . .oops," Al sighed then wandered off into his dormitory.

"So full. . ." Ed stretched and yawned as he entered into his shared room. He quickly removed his robe and changed into his pajamas. Draco was gone during the dinner so the golden boy assumed that he ate earlier or was avoiding him.

Crabbe and Goyle weren't in the room either and Ed was surprised when he didn't see them either at the dinner. Taking a brief peek outside of the door, Ed locked the door and pulled up his left pant leg after sitting in his bed. The dull shine of the metal met his sight. He inspected it and made sure there wasn't anything stuck in any piece of the metal and pulled down the leg before the door opened.

"Why hello, Draco."

The other blond boy flinched and tilted his head nervously to glance at Ed who was frowning at him.

"Erm, good evening Elric. You. . .don't look too happy."

Ed scoffed and got up from his seated position and stalked toward Draco. "Not happy is an understatement. I should really just hang up upside down so you can reflect on the thing you did! What were you thinking? Buying your way into the team? What- just so you could show up Harry?"

Draco flinched and grumbled something under his breath.

Ed scowled at him, "Fools like you, ugh, making enemies isn't how you should be trying to do. Can you open your eyes Draco? Are you trying to purposely look like the villain here?!"

"I don't like it!" Draco protested and squeezed his eyes closed. He opened his eyes then looked to the side, "Just. . . just drop it Elric. Besides, I do enjoy playing Quidditch." Draco's smile looked strained when he turned to face Ed and Ed couldn't help but curse under his breath. He unclenched his fingers and turned to his bed again.

"Suit yourself, don't come crying to me later," Ed pulled the blanket over his head and turned away to face the wall.

Ed heard Draco stomp toward his own bed and change into his sleepwear. Ed cursed under his breath again.

'Damnit, this is so bothersome, first we have to worry about some stupid 'dark lord' trying to rule the world then Draco is being so damn confusing and annoying!'

Ed clenched his teeth and closed his eyes to sleep for the night.

'. . .If only Winry had equipped me with a stronger metal instead of a weaker one. . ."

Crabbe and Goyle stumbled into the room. They had missed Draco and finally gave up on trying to search for him. Crabbe furrowed his brows in confusion when he walked in. There were two bodies in the beds but they were facing the walls will their blankets pulled tightly against themselves.

". . .A fight?" Goyle grunted.

". . .Maybe," Crabbe replied in confusion.

Ed woke up at the crack of dawn with the worst headache possible. He rubbed his sore neck and crawled out of bed and gave a hefty yawn. He quickly changed into his robe and untucked his wand hidden in the folds. He straightened out his hair and tied it into a quick ponytail before leaving to the field.

He sneaked out of the dorm quickly and began to start into a short jog before he "bumped" into a ghost.

"Oh my! And you are. . . Ah! Alphonse's brother!" The ghost exclaimed and looked immensely pleased that it was able to point out who Ed was.

"Uh, yea, I'm Edward Elric, Al's brother. Um, how is Al doing?" Ed hesitantly inquired the ghost. He still wasn't too eager to speak with supernatural creatures.

"He's fitting in great! He's an absolute darling if you would know!" the ghost gushed and talked animately on how polite Al was to everyone in the house so far.

Ed politely nodded but he didn't know when was a good time to interrupt. Then the ghost seemed to have remembered something, "You are just like your brother! I saw him come out too early from the dorm. It looked like he was heading off to the field and- Are you heading off too?"

Ed waved at the ghost and ran faster toward the field, "Yea, I want to go talk with my brother!"

When Ed finally arrived in the fields, he saw his brother running laps and that he had made hurdles himself.

"Hey! Al!"

Al stopped his running and ran toward Ed as well. "Goodmorning brother!" Al exclaimed out of breath from running around.

"Hey, since we are both up anyways, wanna spar again?"

Al nodded, "Sure! It has been a while! No magic though brother!"

Ed nodded and dropped his robe onto the grass and waited for Al to do the same. Then they headed off toward the clear field and then Ed charged.

"Where did Al and Ed head off to?" Harry asked, surprised that he saw neither of the brothers in the hall.

"Al had said he was going to the field, Harry!" Colin supplied helpfully and popped up beside Harry. Harry only briefly flinched and nodded in understanding.

Harry, Ron and Hermione were already about halfway through their breakfast when Ed and Al finally came into the hall. Ed's hair was pulled back neatly but Al's hair was slightly ruffled. Their robes looked slightly messed up but what was more shocking was the fact that Ed was clutching his stomach as if in pain and Al's apologetic face.

"Elric! You're late!" Draco exclaimed.

Ed crankly lifted his wand and created the wood table and chairs for Ed and Al to sit in. "I woke up earlier than you so not late."

Before Draco could complain, Crabbe cut him off. "Is your stomach okay?"

"Huh? Yea, I'm alright, thanks Vincent," before Ed reached for the food from the long tables, Fred and George trotted over.

"We saw what was happening outside~" Fred triumphantly interjected. He put down two bowls of stew on the wood table. Draco wrinkled his nose at the sight of the two twins.

"Didn't know the great Ed would be defeated by his brother~" George added and placed two plates of bacon and scrambled egg.

"Shut up," Ed grumbled and Al brightened up and gestured to the other chairs surrounding the table. Fred and George plopped themselves down onto the seats- to the other's great surprise.

"So, what do you say Elric? Do you want to?"

"It sound fun, why not," Ed shrugged and agreed and pushed away the stew. "I have a strong nose, you can't fool me." He got up and grabbed two new bowls of stew from the Slytherin table.

"Knew we couldn't fool you Elric! The bacon and egg is safe- we didn't do anything to it, we promise!" The twins reassured in unision. Al sighed at their childishness but took a bite of the egg nevertheless.

"Oh, but hands off on Snape, he's my prey," Ed warned the twins as he ripped the bacon in half with his teeth.

The twins furrowed their brows and turned to each other to 'discuss'.

Finally, they turned around and George determinedly placed his hand on the table. "How about. . .70 and 30?"

Ed pushed himself back into the chair and considered. "Fine, but 75 and 25," he smirked. The twins agreed and they shook each other's hands before the twins got up from their seats and excused themselves.

Al looked on confused but continued to eat his breakfast.

The teachers were outraged. In the span of 2 weeks, they had random interruptions in class with no evidence to point out the culprit.

"Whoever is doing this has to be stopped!" McGonagall fumed. She had her class interrupted with the supplies she was distributing disappear only to show up in the storage closet again. Then, the tests she was going to hand out were suddenly gone to only find them in charred or ripped when she had tried to summon them.

Flitwick fumbled with his own wand, "I've had too many incidences with fake wands- probably the Weasley twins again!"

Dumbledore held up his hand, "Halloween is coming up, we might as well try to keep these incidences at bay. We should get ready for the upcoming party. As for these pranksters. . ."

Snape stood up, "I shall take care of them myself then. I can d-"

"No need Snape, its alright but I'll ask for you to keep an eye out to try and catch these little pranksters in act rather than jump to conclusions," Dumbledore smiled amused.

"'Jump to conclusions'. . .But sir. . .alright," McGonagall resignedly accepted the headmaster's decision.

"Harry, you are going out in this rain too?" Al inquired from his position on a couch in the common room near the fireplace. He had a book propped up on his lap and was halfway through. Harry could only tiredly respond.

"Yeah. . practicing before the actual match," Harry sighed and and started to walk out the door.

"Good luck and be careful!" Al called after Harry and turned back down to the book. After Harry had mentioned the voice he heard while with Lockhart, Al was doing his own research on what the voice could possibly be. He couldn't find what it could possibly be in any of the spellbooks he had went through.

Finally, he finished the reading the 30th spellbook he found in the library and decided to go after Harry. He pulled on his robe and left the house and started off toward the field. As he passed by the library, he saw Ed going through a bunch of books as he was most likely looking for some more clues on some prank or something.

Al quickly waved his wand and chanted, "Impervious," to create a barrier around himself as to not get wet in the rain. When he had arrived in the field, he saw Fred and George talking to Harry. Al quickly ran over.

"-so fast! Just blurs!" George exclaimed animately.

"What is?" Al curiously asked when he finally reached them.

"The new brooms for the Slytherin team!" Fred cried out loud.

Al raised an eyebrow at that. The Slytherin were really looking to try to beat them by using better equipment. "Well, hold on, 'impervious.'" Al chanted once again to dry their robes and hair.

"You are good!" Fred cried in wonder.

Al ducked his head in embarrassment and gestured to Harry that they should head back in.

Harry agreed but not before congratulating Al also for learning so fast enviously.

"It was because of all those books I was reading really. . .Anyone can probably do it. . ." Al answered.

Harry was going to voice his disagreement but stopped when he heard Nearly Headless Nick's voice down the hall.

Nick looked dejected and was looking down at a letter while muttering under his breath.

"Good afternoon Nick, " Al politely greeted when they were close enough.

"Ah, good afternoon Alphonse, Harry. " Nick greeted back with a sigh and turned to face them. "You don't look too well Harry."

"Well, its nothing too important really. . ."

"How about you Nick?" Al inquired.

"Its just. . .you would think that I would qualify right? I really would like to join but it seems as though its impossible for me."

"Nothing is really impossible Nick," Al chirped in encouragement and Harry hastily nodded in agreement.

"I would think that I could apply and even qualify but apparently-" Nick brandished the letter in front of him and passed it to Al, "Even if I was hit 54 times with a blunt axe I still don't qualify for the Headless Hunt!"

Al frowned after reading the letter, "That really wasn't nice of them to phrase it that way, I believe you are close enough Nick!"

"Exactly! Only half an inch of skin and still not able to be qualified! How outrageous!" Nick fumed but turned to them again, "But what is your problem dear Harry?"

Nick got a cat's meow in response instead and Harry flinched when he noticed Filch's cat Mrs. Norris near his ankles.

"Best get out of here now Harry! Filch is in a bad mood-"

However, before Harry could get away, Argus Filch ran down the hall and appeared right in front of Harry.

"Filth! Everywhere!" Filch ranted and grabbed Harry toward his office to punish him.

Al winced when he realized he didn't use the spell on Harry's shoes to repel the dirt. Nick noticed his discomfort and said, "Don't worry, I'll ask Peeves for an interruption."

"Peeves?" Al asked the air when Nick swiftly disappeared into the air. Al looked sadly at the dirt on the ground and raised his wand. He didn't mean to cause more mess!

"Al? What are you doing here?" Ed inquired curiously and walked up to Al.

"Um, Harry kinda caused a mess on the ground cause he came in from the rain and I want to help clean up."

"Oh, I see, hey-"

Both brothers flinched when they heard a loud crash and a loud voice yell down the hall.

"What was that?" Ed asked curiously when he saw Al grow pale.

"Um, Nearly Headless Nick said he was going to try and get Peeves as a distraction but. . .I think that was it."

As quickly as he had left, Nick appeared quickly right next to Alphonse. Ed nearly jumped but Al took it all in stride.

"Um, what was that sound?"

"I asked Peeves to crash a cabinet to Filch's office and I believe that would be enough to help Harry."

Al nodded a bit sadly. He didn't exactly hate Filch so he felt a little bad for him.

"Anyways, would you like to come to my deathday party? This halloween will be my 500th deathday. I'll be inviting a lot of friends over and it would be very grateful if you could come- unless you would like to go to the school feast- I wouldn't want to discourage you for that since it's your very first year and all that bu-"

"I would love to go!" Al excitedly interrupted Nick. Ed's eyes sent a silent plea to Nick asking if he could go as well.

"Very well! Thank you very much! And. .. could you possibly mention to Sir Patrick how frightening I could be?"

Al nodded brightly and Ed agreed that he would do the same. Nick brightened and hurried over to find Harry Potter.

"That would certainly be a cool place to go, feel like it'll be interesting," Ed hummed, "and it would help take our minds off some other stuff."

"Did you find what it could be yet? I saw you in the library but I wasn't sure. . ." Al curiously asked.

"Nah, couldn't find anything on mental telepathy or anything like that. Been distracted with trying to deal with Draco- least it looks like he's having some fun with Quidditch."

Al sighed and he resigned to the fact they had no leads so far.

"Anyways, did you write your letters yet? You've been in a new school for a month already- think its about time you wrote a letter back saying how school has been to you," Ed advised Al before heading back to the Slytherin House.

"Got it brother!" Al quickly made a mental note and also returned to the Gryffindor Common Room to hear Harry ask Hermione and Ron to join him for the feast.

"Are you ready yet?" Al asked Ron, Harry and Hermione. Harry looked wistfully at the Halloween decorations the school had set up.

"Come on, you promised Harry," Hermione interjected. Harry solemnly nodded and the four of them met Ed right outside their door and the group walked to the dungeons- past the Great Hall.

The hallway that they took to the dungeon was lit by candles to create a ghostly effect and the temperature dropped steadily.

Ed winced at the sound that sounded like fingernails against a blackboard.

"Welcome, welcome, so glad you could come." Nick greeted from the corner. He brought down his hat to welcome them in.

Ed stood awed at the vast number of translucent beings slide across the floor. The terrible sounds were coming from the stage and he saw his breath rise in cold white wisps in the air.

Harry suggested they walk around and they complied. Ed and Al looked through the faces of the ghosts to see if they could find someone that they- well, for familiar faces.

Hermione gasped and urged the group to turn around to avoid a ghost that haunts one of the girl's bathroom on the first floor. Apparently, she was a real crybaby.

Ron ran toward the long table in the dungeon in hopes there would be food. Ed wrinkled his nose in disgust. Rather than food, it was more like trash on the table- rotten fish, charcoal black cake, molded cheese and such. There was a great big cake in the middle dedicated to Nearly Headless Nick.

Ed watched in awe as one of the short ghosts passed through a rotten salmon on the table with his mouth wide open. However, it wasn't like he could actually taste any of the food on the table.

Before they were able to get away from the table, another ghost popped up in front of them. He had a bright orange hat on with a revolving bowtie. He also had a huge grin on his face.

"Hello Elric. And I heard you saying something about poor Myrtle here," Peeves taunted Hermione.

Hermione whimpered and tried to stop Peeves from calling Myrtle but failed. A small female ghost with spectacles floated over with a miserable look on her face.

"What do you want?" Myrtle asked sulkily. Hermione tried to greet her politely but failed as Peeves started to taunt Myrtle as the female ghost cried and cried.

"Pimply!" Peeves taunted and Myrtle fled the dungeon while Peeves cackled happily.

"How is the party going so far?" Nick flew towards them through the crowds.

Ed commented that it wasn't like he expected-in a good way and Al politely agreed.

"Oh, its about time for my speech-" Nick turned to quiet the 'music' down but suddenly, it stopped without warning.

In replace of the 'music,' there was a loud horn sound and Al heard Nick's dejected voice speaking bitterly.

Through the dungeon doors burst a dozen of transparent horses with headless ghosts riding them. Harry raised his hands to clap when the whole crowd was but stopped after seeing Nick's bitter expression.

The main horseman in the front removed himself from his horse and held his head up high to see through the crowds and walked toward Nick and then squished his head onto his neck.

"Hows it going Nick? Your head still hanging on?" the ghost asked heartily and clumped Nick on the shoulder.

"Welcome Patrick. . ." Nick bitterly responded.

"Live 'uns!" Sir Patrick faked astonishment and gave a fake, exaggerated jump so that his head fell off. Ed glared at him.

"Very amusing," said Nearly Headless Nick darkly.

"Don't mind Nick!" shouted Sir Patrick's head from the floor. "Still upset we won't let him join the Hunt! But I mean to say - look at the fellow -"

"I think," said Harry hurriedly, at a meaningful look from Nick, "Nick's very - frightening and - er -"

"Ha!" yelled Sir Patrick's head. "Bet he asked you to say that!"

Al stubbornly frowned and said, "Nick may still have his head on by a little but doesn't mean he is any worse than you guys who have your heads cleanly removed!"

"And just for your information, I find you guys way less intimidating," Ed huffed.

Nick looked grateful and called for the crowd's attention to give his speech but the ghosts part of the headless hunt started playing games with their heads which distracted the crowds. Ed scowled and held his wand up but was stopped by Al.

"Calm down brother!"

Finally, Nick dejectedly stopped trying to speak over the commotion and stopped. Al looked over sadly and was going to try to cheer him up when he heard Harry's urgent voice outside of the dungeon. Hermione and Ron was with him but it looked like Harry was trying to hear something that they couldn't hear.

He dashed out with Hermione and Ron following. Ed wasn't slow to follow and Al quickly ran after them too.

"Don't say anything!" Harry shouted when Hermione and Ron had tried to ask Harry what he was doing. "Its gonna kill someone!"

Ed and Al narrowed their eyes and ran faster to see if they could try to prevent the murder that Harry predicted. They both skid into a deserted hallway with the other three panting afterwards.

Hermione pointed with trepidation down the corridor and Ed chanted a light spell.

They walked down toward the wall and they saw that words were written on the wall.

The chamber of secrets has been opened.

Enemies of the heir, beware.

"What's that?" Ron asked hesitantly pointing to something underneath the sign. Ed stepped forward cautiously trying not to step into the water puddles.

Al gasped in shock at the frozen form of Mrs. Norris with her tail hanging on one of the torch bracket.

Ron urged them to get out of there but his warning came last as hundreds of students slowly flooded into the hallway.

Ron, Hermione, Harry, Ed and Al could only stand as the crowd of students pushed and gaped.

Then one voice called over the rest of surprised voices, "Enemies of heir, beware! You'll be next you dirty witches and wizards!"

Sorry for the late update! I tried making the chapter longer to apologize. Stupid presentations, stupid school. . .

Anyways, Ed and Draco got into a dispute! Bit of a quarrel now between them!

Ed teamed up with the prankster twins!

Thank you everyone who reviewed, favorited or followed! I really didn't expect any of this!
