Monsters and Magic

(Author's Notes: Hey everyone! How are you all doing? Well, I hope. It seems that the reviews are coming in! Not a whole lot, but still, I take what I can get and I just love what I got! I'm glad that all of you liked the novel so far. Yes, novel. To me, this is more than just a story or frantic! So, I am proud to call this a novel! Just hope one day, I can get to be published or turned into a true classic Disney animatedfilm.

In this chapter, it is Melody's birthday! Yes, the little lady turns thirteen and let us hope the superstition of unlucky thirteen doesn't strike here! The children and mothers, along with their new friends/allies, get everything set up so that Godzilla and his monster allies get welcomed with open arms! Hope for the best for them! Also, just a little reminder if some people are confused here on why Ariel and the others are still princesses. It's like this; their husbands royal parents are still alive, and until they are unable to rule the kingdom, they are still King and Queen. For Belle, she believes that she is still not ready for such a responsibility and asks her husband to wait a little while until she feels she is ready for the huge responsibility to be Queen.

Also, one more thing to clarify once again just in case some missed the previous chapters. The version of Godzilla here is from the Heisei era, and this is after Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah but just before Godzilla and Mothra: Battle For Earth and Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla 2. Also, Anguirus and Rodan versions I used are from the 90's. But, their physical forms are from the video game Godzilla: Unleashed.

I do not own Godzilla or any of the Toho monsters and people, and I do not own Disney or any of the characters. I also do not own Sea World or any of its affiliations. I do take ownership of the OC's I have created, and the songs too! Including this one for Melody's special day, which will be released next chapter! Now, on with the fanfic!)

Chapter 15

The sun was rising again, another glorious day for the kingdom at Sennen. The village was once again active as the villagers prepared for the big celebration. Yes, today was officially Melody's 13th birthday! The townsfolk that got up early to do their usual chore routines were also doing something special in honor of the beloved princess. Many bakers in the bakeries were preparing tasty treats and such for the former mermaid princess and the many kids that would be there at the party. The local blacksmiths were putting the finishing touches on their birthday creations, special designs and such made just for the beautiful Melody. Especially Karl/Kamau, a blacksmith and the father of Oliver/Olujimi was making something very special for the princess, and his son would have the honor of presenting it to her. Merchants were going through their stock to see what they could sell there to the birthday guests, and what to give to the princess. Everyone that was up this early were preparing for a big night at the castle, a day of celebration that few would ever forget!

At the castle, there was also some activity there. But not just servants were up and about doing their chores and preparing for the day. Upstairs, the royal children and their mothers were up and about, putting on the cloaks they used earlier to go down and sneak their way to the kitchen. Melody and the kids were preparing to raid Chef Louie's precious kitchen again to get the food items for their monster friends. But this time, they would be accompanied by their mothers. The two groups were in their rooms, making sure that everything was set in place. The princesses and princes were wide away and alert, full of energy and ready to get this little mission underway! Their actions were complete opposite of what they were last night. The adults were exhausted, the wives drained both physically and mentally of fixing up the chaos their husbands made. And the kids were still drained from their little excursion with the bullies and animals that invaded Sanctuary. So after dinner, with little conversation due to their fatigue, all of them agreed to just go to bed for the night. After a long and good night's rest, the children and mothers were full of energy and ready to get this day started!

Melody and the girls checked themselves, seeing that their clothing and cloaks were all set and done on their bodies. Kathrin said, "I believe this is the last time we'll be sneaking out to raid the kitchen. If everything goes according to plan, our monster friends will be given food from others at a later morning time. And served here instead of at Sanctuary.". The girls nodded at her and each stated their own sentiments. Melody was also hoping that after tomorrow, Godzilla and the others would be welcomed into the fold of humanity here at this kingdom. It was, again, a long stretch… but the little ones had a strong faith that everything would work out alright for them and their friends. The daughter of Ariel peeked out to see if any servants were around, and when she saw that none were out in the hallways, she motioned for her friends to follow her. The princesses made it through the hallways with little sound to their footsteps, and meeting them at the top of the stairwell were the boys. Mainard and Edgard were waiting for them, cloaks on and looking like little bandits then royalty.

"Good morning, everyone. Are you all ready?" Mainard asked, all set to go and get the food for his friends.

A voice called out from behind him, "Yes, we are here.". The two boys eyes widened and they turned around, expecting to find servants. Instead, to their relief, they were facing their mothers. It was an odd sight, to see the royal beauties of their respected kingdoms now dressed in cloaks and looking like secret thieves in the night. Pulling down the hood, Mainard saw that the one who spoke to him just now was Ariel, who wore a little smirk at seeing his and Edgard's surprised faces a moment ago. The boys pouted a little for being spooked like that, while the girls including Melody giggled.

"Okay, we are all here and set. Let's go and get the food for our friends." Cinderella stated softly. She saw that in the hair of her daughter were the Twin Fairies, also awake and wearing some new clothes. Apparently, Melody and the girls decided to give the tiny ladies a little makeover. Their old clothes were in the dollhouse now, and would be cleaned up for the day. The mystical twins were now wearing summer dresses; Moll had on a deep saphhire-blue on, and Lora had on a dark emerald-green dress on. Their hair was in the usual straight down, but the princesses decided to do a hair makeover some other time. Right now, there was work to do.

Edgard whispered, "Okay, mother and everyone else. Follow us and we'll show you what we did yesterday.". The children, led by Melody, quietly but quickly went down the stairs. Ariel and the royal moms followed, excitement creeping into their being. Once on the bottom level, the kids led the adults into the dining room and hid, waiting for Chef Louie to exit from the kitchen. Edgard turned and whispered to the women folk on what they were doing, and Ariel saw that the kids were more clever and resourceful then one gave them credit for. Including herself. Chef Louie soon exited his kitchen, the portly cook mumbling about 'uncoordinated princes' and 'tasteless royals'. It seemed that his argument with some of the kings still left a mark on the chef, making the others wonder on how long Louie could hold a grudge. When he went outside to do his usual morning exercises so he could get ready for the day, that is when the royals struck. They quickly and quietly entered the kitchen, and thankfully no one else was there.

"Okay, that was a little bit fun! I'll admit that much!" Aurora whispered to Snow White, who agreed with her. To then, sneaking around and doing a truly noble thing for friends was a bit exciting.

Melody gained their attention by saying softly but with a firm tone, "Okay, we got to make up for yesterday. The monsters ate only early morning on that day, and I bet they are very hungry now. So, we got to take at least double of what we took yesterday. Mom, Mrs. Cinderella, and Mrs. Belle. You three will help me, Tracy and Mainard with the meat. Godzilla and Anguirus love it, so we need to bring as much as we can. Mrs. Snow White, you and Kathrin are in charge of the fruit. Mothra loves fruit, and so do the Twin Fairies. Mrs. Aurora, you will help Edgard and Dianne with the fish. Rodan loves them, but I can only hope he fed last night. And also that he wasn't seen if he did that…". The others also hoped that too, and Ariel hoped that Rodan did not eat any fish that were loyal to her father. That would cause more headaches if the flying dinosaur did indeed do that. Most important of all, the redheaded beauty was surprised and impressed by Melody's polite orders. It seems that her daughter had some good leadership skills, most likely due to Eric's influence and nature.

All nodded their heads to Melody's orders, and started to gather the items as quickly as possible before Chef Louie returned. Melody, Ariel, Tracy, Cinderella, Belle, and Mainard saw that there was more meat inside the special freezer. Apparently, the adjustments that Melody made earlier on Louie's notepad plus the little chaos that her father and the others made yesterday worked in her favor. Each took four slices of large, well-cut pieces of steak, so the total amounted to twenty-four large steaks. Kathrin and Snow White also lucked out in the fruit department, the pantry now a little over-stocked on the gifts of the earth. They took many apples, oranges, grapes, plums, cherries, and two pineapples. Some of these fruits were exotic and had been imported from several places around the world. The two beautiful royal ladies filled two bags filled with the fruit, hoping it would be enough for the rest of the day until the party tonight. Aurora and her children were in a special cold storage, similar to the one that held the meat. They found some choice and large fishes inside the storage unit, and each took four large salmon. When they all had the food ready, Melody checked outside to see if Louie was coming. A stroke of luck, because Louie was still outside doing his morning stretches. Apparently, the chaos from yesterday took its toll on him and he wanted to relax a little more outside before starting the day officially.

"Okay, it seems that Louie is still outside. Looks like it's out the front door." the black-haired daughter of Eric and Ariel whispered. The entire group nodded, and they all left as quickly and quietly as possible. The group made sure that no servants were in the living room, and when they saw that the coast was clear, they went towards the front door. However… upon opening the front door, and thinking they were home free, they ran into Captain Jackson Dashboard! The entire royal lot stopped in their tracks upon seeing the captain of the Royal Guard. He had a serious look on his face, as he surveyed the scene before him. Apparently, his little hunch had been right.

"I wake up early in the morning to start my daily routine, to get some light exercise before the day officially starts. I had this nagging feeling that something was amiss in the castle, and what do I find? I find the royal family and their guests dressed like robbers and carrying plenty of food with them. I am right to assume that these are for your friends at the closed off area of the beach, right?" he started to say. The others felt a little worried and sheepish at the moment, like little ones that got their hands caught in the cookie jar by their parents. Melody looked at the captain, her eyes pleading for him to let them go and not to report this to her father or the others.

The princess went to him and was about to say something, but he held up his hand to cease her words. It was then that his serious face… took on a warm smile and his eyes showing understanding. This confused the lot a little but they became relieved when he said, "I understand. Believe me, I will keep this a secret from your fathers/husbands for now. You have my word. If Louie gets curious, I'll just tell him I took the food, to prepare for my trainees for today's exercise and training. And truth be told… heh, it cracks me up to see that portly fellow get hot under the collar. Hehehe..". The children and mothers giggled, Melody and Ariel having a little secret guilty pleasure of driving Louie up the wall every now and then, his angry reactions very funny to witness. The group thanked the captain for understanding, and also for willing to take the heat should Louie really blow his top. When it comes to food and his kitchen, he is very offended when one messes it up or takes things without permission in there.

Mainard looked to Jackson and asked, "Excuse me Captain, but is your son going to join the party with you later on tonight? And what happened to his noble friends?". His smile quickly vanished, to be replaced by one of sorrow and disappointment. He answered that his son would not be participating in the birthday events of the evening, that he would be confined to his room for the remainder of day after his first try out at basic training. He added in that his wife Minnie took the news hard when he explained Will's behavior and how it was exposed, but saying he omitted the information that retained to Godzilla and his monster allies, plus with the Twin Fairies help and magic. Mrs. Dashboard had exploded, and tore into her son with a passion! While Jackson was the calm and cool one in the family, his wife had passion and a fiery attitude that could not be reined in when taken to extremes. The captain admitted he almost felt sorry for his son… almost. He also admitted that he would rather face Godzilla's Radiation Death Breath then his wife when she was furious, which got a chuckle from the boys who were soon silenced by the pointed glares of the ladies.

"I'm sorry about all that is going on with your family right now, Captain." Snow White offered, truly sad that a real noble man's name was brought to shame thanks to the actions of one member. Jackson gave the beauty from Germany a grateful smile, and replied that it was alright. It would be rocky for a few months or so, but he had faith and confidence that it would be better at the end. Before he would let them go, he did answer the other question Mainard inquired. He said that the noble boys were not to take part in Melody's birthday part, that their parents would be notified when the time came for them to pick them up, and that they would be restricted to the village. In addition, the six teenagers along with Will would make a public apology later on in the day to the ones they tormented, teased, or blackmailed. To the royal group, that was a good step in the right direction of justice and retribution.

"Thank you for informing all of this, Captain Dashboard. We all really appreciate this." Ariel whispered, still careful not to make too much noise to alert anyone nearby. The elderly soldier smiled and nodded, replying that he was grateful to help them out. He then ordered them all to go, quickly before anyone could spot them. All of them gave a small bow to the honorable captain before rushing quickly to Sanctuary. Jackson watched them go, very much seeing a very good group go off on a good mission. He then felt in his heart that the kingdoms would thrive and survive under the leadership of good people like them.

"Good luck everyone. And tell the monsters I said hello." he whispered before going back on his early morning jog.

~At Sanctuary~

The little beach area, closed off from prying eyes, was currently home to some pretty formidable beasts. But right now, said beasts were sleeping and there was only three of them. Mothra napping in the forest, near the edge of the beach. The large brown worm always felt at peace, and at home, when surrounded by trees. Rodan was folded up, his wings wrapped around him like a bat, as he stood straight on the sand. Anguirus was lying flat on the sandy beach, looking like a splayed turtle. The last member of this group of monsters was in the ocean, near the shore but submerged in the cold ocean waters. Godzilla preferred to sleep in the sea, the only area where humans could not bother him. He was squatting down, completely still as he slept. However, he soon sensed some humans coming towards Sanctuary… familiar ones. He slowly opened his eyes, and prepared himself for coming out from the water.

On the surface, Mothra sensed her mystical companions coming closer to her direction. She also sensed her bonded humans as well, and the guardian of the Earth let out some loud squeaks that caused Rodan and Anguirus to stir from their slumber. The giant pteranodon unfurled his wings slowly, stretching them wide while making a low cawing sound. The spiked-shelled best friend of Godzilla growled softly as he shook the dust and sand off of his back and head. The three former titans looked to the forest to see their bonded coming in, and from the look and smell of it… they were carrying food! While the monsters could live without nourishment for a while, they still loved being able to taste objects that they could not do before when they were giants. Well… Rodan could, but his diet was dolphins and such. But now that he was shrunk down, the flying dinosaur enjoyed fish just as much. The humans smiled brightly as they saw the monsters up and alert, and apparently very hungry. Mainard and Belle went to Anguirus with their load of food, the mutated Ankylosaurs very much liking what he smelled. Kathrin and Snow White went to Mothra, the Twin Fairies going to their retainer. Earlier during their walk, the mystical beings went from Tracy to Kathrin, still making sure to do the transfer quickly just in case someone was looking. The brown worm squeaked in surprise upon seeing her mystical twins dressed up in different clothing. Aurora, Edgard and Dianne went to Rodan, the leathery winged beast screeching in delight upon seeing them and the fish.

Ariel looked around and asked, "Melody, where is Godzilla?". As if answering her question, the ocean before them bubbled and frothed over to reveal Godzilla emerging from the depths! Melody and the girls said to themselves that they will never stop being in awe when the King of the Monsters rose from the sea like that. The saurian stomped towards the shore, and towards his bonded. His nose took a tentative sniff, and he was secretly delighted to smell meat on his bonded. He stopped a little way from his bonded humans, leaning down to sniff Melody and Tracy, who approached him first.

Melody spoke, "It's good to see you again, Godzilla. I hope you didn't cause trouble while you were sleeping in the ocean.". Luckily for the green-skinned monster, the citizens of Atlantica did not spot him while he was sleeping. The others would have to wait for Sonia, Flounder and Sebastian's report on the current situation in Atlantica. But they put that thought away for another time, as the princesses tossed their food to Godzilla one at a time. The King of the Monsters grabbed and chewed down the meat a couple of times before swallowing, and the steaks seemed to bring delight to him. Once Melody and Tracy were done, it was Ariel's turn to feed him. Cinderella went over to Anguirus to give to the creature two of her steaks, beliving that Godzilla would be full from the ones that were given to him by the others. Belle and Mainard, who were feeding the monster, thanked her for the kind contribution. Anguirus thanked her by roaring towards her, it was all he could do for now. But, Cinderella got the message and smiled brightly at the spiked-shelled creature before going back to Godzilla.

Mothra was dining on some seriously good fruit, and the Twin Fairies joined her. It seemed that the tiny ladies had spent a good deal of energy yesterday, and they were famished. Though they got some food that Kathrin snuck to them after dinner was over, and were grateful towards her for that, the Twin Fairies needed more food. And now, it seemed that they would have their fill. Kathrin and Snow White thought at the same time, 'It seems that using magic drains the user of energy, and they require a lot of food to become fully better again.'. The twins offered some of their share of the fruit to the lovely ladies, but they polietly declined. Kathrin stated that she and the others would be able to eat back at the castle. Mothra squeaked 'Thank you' to them before resuming her feast on the ripe and succulent fruit before her.

Rodan was enjoying his meal, his bonded tossing to him twelve tasty and plump salmon! Aurora and her children were tossing the fish up to Rodan one at a time, and if one were to see this, they would have compared it to trainers from Sea World tossing their treats to their animal friends like Shamu. Aurora commented, "This is kind of fun! I had animals eat out from my hand in the past, but I never imagined doing something like this!". In a way, it was true. The beautiful blonde queen had indeed coaxed and sway wild forest animals to eat from her hand, her gentle but strong nature emerging and calming the wild beasts. But now, she was tossing fish to a creature that went way beyond any kind of natural life she knew. And to her, it was enjoyable. Edgard and Dianne smiled at their mother, nodding and saying that they felt the same way. Soon the otherworldly monsters had their full, and they would be full for quite some time. About four days at the most, if anyone would try to make an educated guess. Once the monsters had their bellies full of delicious food, they went to their bonded and nuzzled them.

Godzilla was allowing Melody and Tracy pet and hug the side of his head, the two princesses enjoying this kind of contact with the saurian. They learned that when an animal, be they wild or not, allowed them to show such affection as this, it meant that they truly trusted them. The Japanese people back in Godzilla's world would be stunned to see the previous scary and destructive monster show such trust and vulnerability to humans. Once the children released Godzilla, the mothers went to him. Instead of hugging the side of his head, the adults simply stroked it. The green-skinned saurian purred/growled softly in acceptance and delight, and more so when the beautiful mothers found his special scratch spots underneath his chin and started to scratch at said places. Ariel and Cinderella smiled, secretly glad that they knew a spot where to please their new friend. The two children were surprised, and they tried to find the spot where to scratch. Sadly, before they could get a good look and guess, Godzilla lifted up his head and walked past the ladies to go a little more inland of the beach.

Melody and Tracy looked over to their smirking mothers and the daughter of Ariel exclaimed, "How did you do that?! What spot did you scratch to get him to be like putty in your hands?!". The two mothers just smiled and replied that it was a secret, walking towards Godzilla while leaving some fuming, but still cute-looking daughters behind. Melody and Tracy vowed to find the secret spots so that Godzilla would be purring for them. It was a bit comical to see such a sight, but it was a welcome one nevertheless.

Once everyone was assembled, Melody started to tell the final phase of their plan to the monsters and Twin Fairies. She started out, "Okay, we have been good and lucky so far. The children have accepted the monsters, and also it seems we have another good ally on our side. Now… here comes the big test! The final phase of our plan to bring the monsters together with everyone, and to see if they can be accepted.". Everyone nodded, except for the monsters who just listened on. They did not understand the human girl completely, but they felt that what she was saying was important. Melody continued on that for this part of the plan, it would require timing, some good sneaking skills… and a whole lot of luck. She said that the monsters would have to come to the courtyard in front of the castle, hide in the trees, and then come out at the right time when she and the others would introduce them. The party was take place in the evening, the guests arriving to the castle at around 6:30 p.m., when the sun would go down. So they had to get Godzilla and the others in position in the woods near the courtyard at about 6:00 p.m., and have them wait until the time was right.

Cinderella asked, "That is quite a bold, risky move young one. Are you sure this is going to work?". Now no one could say that Cinderella was realist, after all the adventure and magic she had been part of. But this indeed seemed like a big venture, as well as a risky gamble.

Melody replied, "Yes, it is quite bold and risky. And there is a slight chance of being spotted if my Dad posts up men after the little fiasco with the Monster bandits… but I have faith this WILL work! It's really all we have left, and I believe that it will work!".

Mainard added in, "Me too! I say we do or die here! Let's just do what we can, and hope for the best!". One by one, the children started to voice out their positive thoughts on their plan. The mothers were still a little skeptical, when suddenly Mothra squeaked out loudly, surprising the humans. The Twin Fairies translated for them, saying that their friend also wanted to go through with the plan. Apparently, Mothra understood the human language. Rodan then flapped his wings, and Anguirus roared loudly. Thankfully for all of them, the soundproof barrier the fairies put was still active and strong. The tiny females translated that even though they did not understand it all completely, the monsters also wanted to go along with their plan. To the kids, it was great to have their bonded beings agreeing with them. However, all eyes fell on Godzilla. The huge saurian seemed to be contemplating, his eyes closed and looking like he was thinking. Melody and Tracy looked on, a little worried that their friend would not agree to this. After some moments had passed, Godzilla's eyes snapped open and he let out a HUGE roar that shook the land and air! It also tested the limits of the soundproof barrier, which thankfully was able to keep the loud sound in. The humans and tiny fairies had to close their ears tightly so their eardrums wouldn't bust. The roar lasted for a few moments before dying down, and everyone looked at the King of the Monsters in a moment of awe and wonder.

When they felt that it was safe to put their hands down, the Twin Fairies stated, "Godzilla just said now to go for it!". The kids smiled then had jumped up and down, seeing that even the King of the Monsters approved of their plan. The mothers looked at Godzilla, and the beast just nodded his head slowly. It was like he was saying, 'I trust the little humans. You should too.'. The queens looked to their kids, and saw that Godzilla was right. They trusted their children so far, now it was time to put that faith and trust to the test! Tracy and Melody went and hugged the sides of their bonded, thanking Godzilla was saying his approval. Kathrin went to Mothra and hugged her head, Mainard went to Anguirus and hugged the side of his head that was not spiked, and finally Edgard and Dianne hugged Rodan, careful to not touch any of the spikes on his belly. The young ones showed their gratitude to the monsters for their support, and the former titans did not mind the affection at all. It seemed that things were going their way, which was nice for a change. It was then that Aurora saw the sun was now peeking more out over the horizon.

"Kids, we better get going before someone finds us missing from the castle." she informed them. That got some gasps from the kids, and they quickly thanked the monsters for their support before starting for the castle. Melody and Ariel were the last to leave, but they stayed behind to ask the Twin Fairies something.

Ariel asked, "Excuse me, but do you think you two can keep the monsters here until it's time to bring them to the right spot?". The mystical beings said that they would do their best. No promises, but they would do their best. Well, that was as good as they were going to get. Melody thanked them all for their help, and waved to them before she and Ariel ran a little to catch up with the others. It seemed that things were going to be alright… at least, that is the way it looked right now. But as life as taught many including the royalty, is that the unexpected happens and sometimes it could be bad.

~Later on that evening~

A flurry of activity had taken up most of the time, both at the castle and at the village! Colorful and beautiful streamers and such were hung from many balconies and such, at the village and at the castle. The local kids made colorful artwork and presents for their princess… some making the time to make drawings or other art that showed their new friends. Some of the adults found it quite amusing, but many wondered where they got the imagination create such creatures. The bakers were putting any and all last minute touches on their masterpieces for their royal princess. Blacksmiths were working out any and all kinks from their works, many of them presents for Melody. And lastly, the adults were going around buying any and all kinds of presents to give to the daughter of Ariel and Eric. Hadrian managed to get a special necklace from his father's wares, one that was made of pure gold with a symbol of a star on it. Simple, but elegant. When he heard the story from Dianne and the others yesterday on how the monsters came to be, he realized that this star would symbolize Godzilla and the others first arrived.

Oliver had helped his father put the finishing touches on Melody's present, which was a necklace that formed the image of a lioness. It was a very formidable animal back in the homelands of Africa, and to Oliver, it best represented Melody. She was strong of heart, feisty, and also very much willing to go into danger to protect little ones. The necklace and image were forged from black onyx metal, a rarity in these parts of England. It was a simple gift, but one forged from the heart. Oliver thought, 'Melody is sure to like this present! It is not much, but it is all I can do for her!'.

From morning to the early evening, people from not only the village but all over the land had come to celebrate Melody's birthday! Most of the noble lords and ladies were there, and they were glowing with pride and joy at being able to attend the festivities. Some minor lords and such nobles were absent, but the majority of the population just ignored it since these certain noble lords were not liked by many in the kingdom. Among those lords were the Manchester's and Folding's, two lords of their estate and land that came up with various excuses on declining the invitation to Melody's party. The people all thought this, 'Oh well, their loss is our gain!'. And in this case, it was true. With the Manchester's and Folding's not being able to come, the citizens and the nobility could truly mingle without the bigoted and snooty opinions of those families butting in. Plus, the sons of the noble families that were not coming were lead to the center of the village by Captain Jackson, surprising some of the people there. Due to some… encouragement from the elderly soldier, the teenage boys, including Hector and Alfred, publicly apologized to the entire town for their misbehavior and misconduct for over the years. Now THIS surprised all, especially those that the teenagers bullied or intimidated to get their way. The entire lot looked like they had eaten something extremely sour after saying their apologies, but to others… it was something sweet to hear the words coming out from their mouths. Jackson then stated that the boys would be confined to the inns they were staying in, and any further punishment would come when their parents picked them up. Needless to say, it was like a huge early Christmas present was delivered to the majority of the villagers. Jackson soon gave the boys the go ahead to head back to their lodgings, and the teenagers fled, hiding their heads in shame and humiliation as the crowd cheered for their forcement of public apology. Jackson also stated that if any of the noble teens tried their old ways of bullying and intimidation again, to come see him and he would deal with it.

A majority of the children, the ones who went to see Melody and the royal families little surprise yesterday, could not stand still and were buzzing with anticipation and excitement! One had to wonder if the little ones had too much sugar or something similar to that. The village was now bursting to the brim with people, and they were waiting for the sun to go down at the right time so they could all head to the official party at the castle. However, if one were to go at the castle now, they would see that the birthday girl was nowhere in sight, along with her friends.

Just like their friends in the village, Melody and the others had been working hard and good with their parents and servants in getting everything right and set-up for the official party. Chef Louie had already put out the food and tasty dishes he had been preparing for some time, though he was a little confused on why there was an overflow of certain foods like steaks, fish and fruit. Luckily, Ariel came to the rescue and told him that it was perfect, and that any food would not go to waste. The chef did not totally understand on what was going on, but he did trust Ariel and left it at that. The husbands had been going over the list, checking on the status of the staff and servants, and also making sure that someone was keeping an eye on the prisoners down below in the dungeon. The wives and children were busy putting up chairs, tables, getting the food all out, and also putting up some special scented candles and such in places so to keep the pesky bugs out that were more harm then helpful to humans. The courtyard in the front was all set up, wide open space where people who preferred to dance or be outside rather then inside. All in all, it was hard but good work. Now, the time came for the kids do execute the final phase of their plan.

Melody and the others were outside, looking like they were doing some last minute changes at the courtyard. However, Ariel and Snow White, who were nearby and setting up some decorative arrangements, gave the children a subtle signal for them to go. During their work on the castle for the party, Ariel had told her daughter that she would give a subtle but clear signal for them to leave to get the monsters to their right places. She added in that Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, and Aurora were in on it. Once the signal was given, they all would keep the servants and their husbands occupied until they returned. The little princess had to admit, she was pretty impressed by this plan. Now, she had seen the little wave put forth by Ariel, a wave that was done with the right hand that had her wedding ring on it. She turned to the others and whispered, "Okay, there's the signal! Let's sneak out of here and get Godzilla and the others!". The five royal children nodded, and with some skill they had developed when they were younger, they managed to sneak out undetected. Well… someone did see them leave, and that was Captain Jackson, who was training his new recruits. One of these recruits was his son, Will dressed in the trainee uniform and looking like he had gotten through the wringer.

The captain saw the six leave, and a small smile was on his face. He whispered to them, "Good luck, your Highnesses. Godspeed.". He then turned his attention back to his trainees, and ordered them to get back to the barracks, double-time. Will looked around ready to collapse, but his father gave him a good boot to the backside so that he did not fall behind.

~At the Sanctuary~

While there was much activity at the castle, there was not much activity going on at this part of the kingdom. The Twin Fairies were on Mothra, full both in food and in magic. However, it seemed that they were concentrating, the retainers of Mothra glowing with a faint golden color. Also, it seemed that Godzilla and the rest seemed a little restless, agitated for some reason. This is the scene that Melody and the others came to see when they arrived at the closed off place. Each child went to their bonded monster, wanting to see on what was going on. Kathrin looked at the tiny mystical women and asked, "Lora, Moll. What is going on? Why are you glowing? And what is wrong with the monsters?". The two fairies gave off a small sigh, releasing themselves from their meditation and the faint glow dissipating. The two looked at the daughter of Snow White, and answered as one that something was nearby that was agitating the monsters as well as them.

"We can feel something coming towards us. It is faint and familiar, but we cannot fully identify what it is. Godzilla and the others sense the same thing, and it seems to have driven them into some restlessness." Moll stated. Indeed, Kathrin looked to see Mothra's bright sapphire eyes gleaming a little, and the tension was shown in her slightly shaking body. It took the combined efforts of the children to calm their friends down; Melody and Tracy had to hold onto Godzilla to stop him from pacing around, and whispering some soothing words to the saurian to get him to calm down. Mainard had to hold on to Anguirus's head, the beast trying to shake him off but the stubborn lad held on and whispered some words to him that got the mutated Ankylosaurs to calm down a bit. Edgard and Dianne had to fight against Rodan's flapping wings, and rubbed the former giant pteranodon's chest gently in order to soothe the agitated flier. Mothra was more in control, but it took Kathrin some whispers and soft, gentle words like a mother to calm down the nerves of the giant brown worm. When all of the nervous, tense energy from the monsters left, the kids asked on what was wrong.

Kathrin told them, "It seems they sense something coming our way, one familiar but it is a bit far and faint for them to tell.". Melody wondered out loud if the monsters were sensing any of Triton's forces, or even her grandfather himself. It was exactly after she said that when the ocean before them bubbled a little and coming out was… Sonia! And alongside her were Flounder and Sebastian, and the three looked a little worse for wear.

Sonia had heard Melody's question and said, "No, it can't be the King's forces they are sensing. They haven't be anywhere near this place.". The Jamaican crab scuttled ashore, and when Melody scooped him up, she saw that he looked like he had swam a marathon. Resting a bit on her palms, the musical genius muttered that he hoped that Melody appreciated all he was doing for her and the others. The princess gave Sonia a confused look, and it was then that the elderly mermaid told them on what happened from this morning all the way to this day.

She started out, "Shortly after we arrived back in Atlantica, the entire kingdom was under some kind of high alert. We learned that any and all citizens were to take some precaution measures when traveling out, and we have been seeing some of the royal soldiers patrolling the area. Luckily for us, we were seen as friends and thus not given a second glance. However, when we arrived at the palace… we learned from one of his Highnesses servants that King Triton had ordered us to see him at the Throne Room. When we got there, his Majesty looked very suspicious at the three of us. He asked Flounder and Sebastian first to report on what they found at your castle, Melody. The two were VERY nervous as can be, but they managed to say the report that all was well here. King Triton gave them a pretty intense glare, like if it was he was trying to see into their souls. The two were shaking very badly, but they passed his test. Though just barely.". Melody had to say that she was impressed by Flounder and Sebastian's bravery, though they were quite shook up much after their little talk with her grandfather.

Sonia continued on, "The king said he was planning on coming over here to the castle to see for himself if everything was okay, and also to bring in a group of soldiers to make sure they did not see Godzilla. All of us had to think fast, and we told him we saw something suspicious at a different area that was far away from Sanctuary. We said that it would be better for him to investigate there, and to visit Melody later after her birthday. We added in that it would be safer for merpeople to see Melody and her family after the other humans left. It took some more talking and convincing, but we got King Triton to hold off on seeing you and the others. It has been a rough day for us all, but we managed to keep the military forces out of this place. For the time being, at least.". The princes and princesses had some newfound respect for the mermaid and Melody's fishy friends. Flounder lazily swam in the water, but everyone could see that his nerves were shot all over. He commented that after enduring the king's little interrogation, he had to deal with his energetic children, and he was just spent. Completely.

Sebastian added, "He not da only thing spent. Mon, this be a nightmare and a half! I tink after dis, I retire to my homeland…". Melody was a bit confused on what he was trying to say, and the crab explained tiredly that he had not only get through his Majesty's interrogation as well, but he found out that his orchestra… his precious musical group, had not been with a conductor for so long, that there had been no time for practices and such. And when Sebastian tried to see how much they had gone down without practice… well, let's just say that his nerves and musical talent were literally on the brink of snapping. Melody tried to think of something to say to calm Sebastian down, but the crab was just too angry and tense to accept. It was Kathrin who save the moment, taking the crab away from her friend and starting to gently stroke the musical genius's shell. Sebastian slowly started to relax a little, and Kathrin's soothing words of peace started to make him melt. He tried to fight it off, but the negative vibes of the past were no match for Kathrin's gentle, soothing words and rubs. In a matter of moments, Sebastian felt relaxed and a bit more positive again.

Kathrin put the crab in the water and said, "Thank you for all your help, Mr. Sebastian. And to you too, Mr. Flounder and Miss Sonia. I know we asked a lot of you, but we really appreciate it still for doing this for us. We promise to make it up to you as best we can after the party.". Mothra squeaked out, the Twin Fairies saying that they too were grateful for their help and wanted to repay the favor someday too. The compliments of gratitude filled the three back up, their weariness melting away and positive energy flowing through their hearts and souls once more. Though one would see it as just a little thing, to the three… hearing their thank you's and gratitude was more then enough for them.

Sebastian wiped a little tear from his eyes and replied, "Aw, no problem, little lady! Just make sure dat everything goes right tonight! Now, we must be going. Don't want to let anyone get suspicious of us.". The group knew that was true, for even if King Triton had believed them, they were still suspects and they had to tread carefully until the day arrived for them to introduce the King of Atlantica officially and on better terms with the King of the Monsters and his allies. Flounder and Sonia waved goodbye to the lot, wishing them the best of luck before diving back into the deep blue sea. Sebastian did a little high dive jump off of Kathrin's hands, and upon splashing, he started to swim back with the others. However, he turned around and waved goodbye with his claw, and thanked Kathrin for everything. The beauty blushed at Sebastian's words, and then the little musical genius vanished underneath the waves.

Mainard stated, "Okay, it looks like we lucked out in the water department! Now we got to hurry and put our friends in place so the folks on the land see them in a good light!". The kids nodded and started to coax the monsters from leaving Sanctuary, to follow them towards the castle. It took some doing, but the royal children managed to get the monsters out from their abode and walking towards the palace. However… at the same time, someone in the dungeon was also making plans. But these plans were malicious and evil at the core!

~At the dungeons~

Down below the castle, Shadowsneak had been preparing for his escape… for his freedom and revenge against the ones that caused him to be caught like a common thief. He had been hearing the commotion upstairs despite the thick stone layers, and he believed that his time to escape was drawing closer. Earlier this morning, when he was given his breakfast of bread, water, and also a slice of apple, he had put his escape plan into action. He took from his hair the long, thin of piece metal that fell from one of the guards earlier, he bunched it into a ball, and when the guard turned to close the cell door… he flicked small metal ball with great accuracy and timing into the slot where the lock of the cell met the place where the lock would be slid in. The guard did not see the quick action, closed the cell door and turned the key into the lock to secure the door. The tiny metal object disrupted the mechanism, thus not locking completely. The guard did not know it was locked completely and securely, having done this many a time, and just went out to go back up to the festivities upstairs.

Shadowsneak thought to himself, 'Ah-ha! It worked! It seems my skills have not rusted since I have been here. Now even though I have a chance to escape, I will bide my time until I hear the other guests arriving. Then… I will make my move! Hehehe…'. And wait he did. If anything could be said about the leader of the Monster bandits, he had patience and skills. Later on, he saw that his little metal ball was still doing its trick, cause when the guard came back to give him lunch, he closed the door and again the lock did not go in completely in again. He looked at his fellow bandit fellows through the bars, and the remaining thieves saw that they were ready. Luckily for the forces of good, two of their top fighters were still out on recover. Tightfist and Springy had taken a great deal of damage from their encounter with Godzilla and Anguirus respectively. So it was just seven bandits and their leader, but Shadowsneak would do with what he had to work with.

When evening came, Shadowsneak heard many more sounds and voices from above. He thought, 'The time is now! Time to break out of here and cause some major trouble for the party-goers above…'. The time came when the guard came in, a lone one. A majority of the soldiers were now up above to provide security, so the lone soldier bringing the meals was indeed the only one in the dungeon. When he opened the door to give Shadowsneak dinner, which consisted about the same servings he had at breakfast and lunch, he put the tray on an unoccupied bench and turned to leave. Again, the guard thought he locked the door when in reality was not completely the case. He turned his back to go up the stairs to the party, muttering on how he was unlucky to get the shift for food duty. He then heard the cell door open, which caused his eyes to widen and he turned to see Shadowsneak… out of his cell, and staring at him in the face.

The master thief stated, "Yes, young man. You are truly unlucky.". After that, he sent a punch to the soldier's face! The guard was stunned and wracked with pain due to the punch, and it was enough to give Shadowsneak the opportunity to throw the guard hard into the cell bars! The force of impact knocked the lad out, the body sliding down to the ground. The leader of the bandit group then dragged the poor guard into his cell, grabbed the keys from the soldier's side, and then removed the small metal ball from the lock opening before closing the door and securely locking it in place.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Such lazy guards Prince Eric has. Now… to free my comrades and get sweet revenge! Along with some good jewels and such from the party guests. Hehehehe…" he said slyly as he went to free his comrades, who were very grateful towards their leader for freeing them. Normally, many top evil leaders would flee to save their own skins. Shadowsneak knew that he needed his fellow thieves to get away with something much more then mere jewels.

Once he freed them all, he exclaimed, "Okay, lads! Let's go upstairs and give the people above a party they will never forget!". The bandits cheered, and they made their way up to the surface!

~Topside, in the courtyard~

Things were in full swing at the castle grounds, and it was a sight to see! The kids had gotten the monsters to their hiding spots in the forest near the courtyard, and told them to stay put until it was time for Melody to introduce them. The Twin Fairies translated the instructions to the monsters, and the beasts did not find it well to just be waiting. However, some pleading from their bonded forced them to have patience, something Mothra had but not the others. When they saw that the monsters would comply, at least for now, the kids went to the courtyard to see that the guests were starting to come in droves! About 95 percent of the village was in attendance, and also the local lords, ladies and their families were also coming in! Melody was slightly surprised to see so many people, and soon her spirit was starting to fill up with the birthday cheer! Her father and mother, who shared a secret smile between one another, came to her and told Melody to go in and get ready.

Eric hugged her daughter tight and said, "Happy birthday, my little princess! Glad to see you're still here! Thought you ran off somewhere to cause some mischief before the party. Now, you and the others go upstairs and get changed. The party will start soon!". Melody smiled and hugged her father tightly, replying that she'll be down soon. She gave Ariel a strong hug and a kiss on the cheek before running towards the palace. The other royal kids received warm and loving gestures from their parents before they too were shooed into the castle to go clean up and change. Twenty minutes later, the royal children were back on the scene, wearing some simple but sharp wear. Kathrin, Tracy, Melody and Dianne looked beautiful their various dresses, catch attention of the boys who felt some powerful new feelings stirring within their hearts. And Mainard and Edgard cleaned up pretty well themselves, their confidence and looks making some of the ladies have hearts in their eyes and the ones in their chests beating rapidly. The parents looked on in pride as their children mingled with everyone, and it seemed that Melody was enjoying herself.

The dancing and partying lasted for two hours, and now Melody was at the food line, wanting to try some of the tasty treats. Dianne was next to her, also wanting to try some of the sweet-smelling goods like the cupcakes, brownies, and also some cookies that just called to their senses. They were halfway of filling up their plate when a familiar voice called out to them from behind, "Excuse me, I am looking for one Princess Melody. I believe she is the most beautiful girl in the whole party.". The two turned around, Melody blushing from the compliment, and saw that the owner of the voice was Oliver! And right next to him was his new friend, Dianne's secret crush, Hadrian! Both looked handsome in the princesses eyes. Melody put down her plate and gave her African friend a small hug, which returned with him now blushing almost as bad as Melody. Hadrian also gave Dianne a small hug, which she welcomed and now both were in the same blushing section as Oliver and Melody.

"It's good to see you both here! Are your parents here too?" Melody inquired. Oliver answered that his parents were indeed here, and catching up with some of their friends somewhere in the palace. Hadrian answered that his folks were also present, trying to sell some of their wares on the sly while also enjoying the festivities. Dianne saw that Hadrian was a bit embarrassed on his parents actions, but it was nothing too serious and it was a bit funny to say the least. Oliver then held up a small black box, one that had a white ribbon tied up in a bow. He handed the small box to Melody, saying that he wanted to give his gift to her first before she opened the presents later on. Indeed, there was already a large stack of presents near the entrance to the palace, all stacked with boxes of various color, size, and gift wrapping. Melody was flattered, and also intrigued on what her friend got for her. She unwrapped the ribbon and opened the box… to find a very beautiful, hand-crafted gift that took her breath away. She held up the necklace for her friends to see, and indeed this was quite a gift in their eyes.

Oliver blushed a little and said, "I helped my dad in the forge to make this gift for you. It's not much, but it's the best I could do. The animal you see on the necklace is called a lioness, a powerful predator in my ancestral land of Africa. It is formidable, caring, feisty and quite strong. It reminded me of you, so…". Melody heard it all, and her face was now strawberry red as she gazed at the image of the animal on the onyx necklace. It was well crafted, and Melody could swore she saw the piece move a little. She put the necklace on her, and it seemed to be a good fit. She thanked her friend for the gift, and gave him a kiss on the cheek before she realized what happened. Now both were so red, one would think ALL of the blood in their bodies were now stored in their faces. After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence, Melody whispered a thank you to Oliver before running off, embarrassment on her face. The young lad was staring at her as she ran, and was wondering if he did something wrong.

Hadrian stated, "You did not do anything wrong, my friend. Melody… I believe she likes your gift a lot, and after the kiss she gave you, also likes you too. She's just going through some powerful new emotions through her heart, and doesn't know exactly what to do. Just give her some time and space, my friend. Believe me, it will be made clear to you both soon.". He then put his present for Melody with the pile, and then asked Dianne if she wanted to dance. The musicians were playing a lively tune, so she took his hand and the two started to dance on the courtyard floor with the others! Oliver just went to a chair and sat down, playing the events over in his head and wondering if things would change after this. Oh, how right he was!

Outside, Ariel and Eric had witnessed the exchange between their daughter and her new friend. Both were a little stunned to see Melody do such a bold move, and Ariel giggled a little when she saw Melody running from the stand. Eric frowned lightly and said, "Maybe I need to talk to this Oliver fellow…". However, his wife did not want her husband to spoil a moment, and kept him close to her side.

Ariel replied, "Now, Eric. Just let it go for now. You can play the part of the protective father later. Right now, let's just see how this works out. If something comes up, we'll be there for our daughter. Also, tonight is her special night. Let her enjoy the moment.". The king was still not too keen on the idea of just playing spectator, and wanted to see if his daughter was alright. But, he gave in to his wife's suggestion and returned to the party inside the castle. Meanwhile, Melody was at the edge of the courtyard, her heart beating fast and wondering on what just happened. She was looking at the necklace, and then her mind's eyes returned to the part where she kissed Oliver and she was blushing red all over again. She didn't know what to do, and that is when help came in the form of Tracy. The young lady had searched for her when she heard from Dianne on what happened, and the princess wanted to help out her new friend.

She put a hand on Melody's shoulder, causing the young girl to jump a bit. She calmed down when she saw that it was Tracy, and frowned a little when said friend giggled at her jumping ability. "Hey Melody, how are you doing? Dianne told me on what happened, and I wanted to see if you were okay." Tracy stated, making her way to sit beside the embarrassed princess. Melody sighed and answered that she was not okay, that she felt some new feelings coming at her fast, and she didn't know what to do. Tracy gave her friend a patient smile and answered that right now, it was to just flow with the feeling instead of fighting or trying to reason with it. The daughter of Ariel looked at her friend, a little bewildered at her answer.

The daughter of Cinderella explained, "Melody, my mother once told me this. She told me that when you meet someone you care about very much, you experience some new feelings in your heart that can't be explained like one would at school. It can only be experienced. She said that if you tried to fight this feeling, it won't go away but only get stronger. If you try to reason with it, you only get a little more confused on it. So she told me to let these feelings flow through you, to see what happens and just use your heart to figure it out. Using your head is only half as important. So, better to go with the flow and see what happens next. Like if you're on a boat, and the river you're on is gaining some speed. You just got to flow with it and move around some, not fighting it and only making it worse.". It seems that Cinderella indeed had some good wisdom in her head and heart, and passed that knowledge onto her daughter. Melody was feeling a little better about what Tracy had just explained, and was about to say something when they both heard loud screams coming from the palace!

"What was that!?" Melody exclaimed, and soon both girls went from the edge of the courtyard to the palace! Before them now was a horrible sight!

The kids saw that within the palace, trouble was brewing! The leader of the Monster bandits, Shadowsneak, was loose! And he had two hostages in his arms… Cinderella and Ariel! The adults were now panicking, and in the confusion the other seven bandits under Shadowsneak's command were holding Aurora, Belle, Snow White and Cinderella hostage! The bandits coming out from the dungeon took them all by surprise, and thus the evil thieves had decided to launch their surprise by taking the royal wives hostage first! The husbands wanted to make a move on the slimy thugs that dared to touch their better halves! However, they knew better for Shadowsneak had managed to get a very sharp knife from the confusion and was holding it close to Ariel's throat. The soldiers and guards were also prepared to strike, but Eric's ordered them to stand down. He did NOT want to take any chances, not with his wife and the wives of his friends at stake.

Shadowsneak started to move out, backing out into the courtyard where the kids and teenagers quickly made a path. He turned his head to look at the young ones and yelled out, "No one make a move! We will be leaving this glorious little gala, with our prizes of course. I expect to see a lot of coins and jewels here in this courtyard come the morning! Or else… the queens here will be returning a head shorter!". The royal children, Oliver and Hadrian had scared plus angry faces. The bandits were close to their leader, holding the other hostages in tow. They were near the edge of the courtyard now, their backs still towards the forest. Melody then screamed loudly, causing everyone to look to her and the bandits plus Shadowsneak to stop their backing into the woods. The scream also triggered something that would be etched in the minds of everyone forever.

Shadowsneak saw Melody and made a little laugh as she gazed into her angry/scared face. He mocked, "Oh, come on now, princess. Surely you think a scream like that will alert someone to help your mother out? I hold all the cards here, and I believe that I will get away scot free!". It was then that he saw the entire crowd gasp and point behind him, and curiously he saw the small children laughing, smiling and cheering. He was wondering if the little brats had lost their minds, and that is when he heard it… a soft growl that was right behind him. He turned around, his hostages still in his grasp, and found himself staring up at the face of one aggravated and angry saurian… Godzilla! The beast gazed down at the human who dared to harm his bonded like this, and he roared LOUDLY! His mighty roar echoed throughout the land, and some of the kids had to hold their ears to block the sound. The very roar was what was needed, as the knife slipped from Shadowsneak's fingers when the vibration caused his grip on the weapon to loosen up. Ariel and Cinderella gave a combined hit to the gut of the master thief, causing him to double over and release the hostages. The two queens then ran over to Godzilla, who towered over them protectively.

"Look! More of them are coming out!" an adult lady from inside the castle shouted. The bandits, who had turned to see the King of the Monsters roar loudly, not to mention getting beat by the two royal beauties, saw that coming from the forest was the monsters they fought earlier! Anguirus went to the ones that had Belle, Rodan went to where Aurora was held captive, and Mothra went to Snow White. The seven thugs whimpered in fear upon seeing these creatures again, and the action caused their grip on the queens to come undone and said royal women went to their bonded monster guardians. The children cheered loudly, smiles on their faces to see their monster friends ready to beat up the bad guys!

Godzilla leaned down to face Shadowsneak, staring at him eye-to-eye. The human did not blink once, and neither did the King of the Monsters. After a moments into the staring contest, Godzilla roared loudly and charged towards the master thief! The other monsters let out their own respective cries and charged at the bandits! The fight was on!

I hope to do Disney justice by showing how love can happen in the most unexpected places, and how you need to follow more your heart then head. About 70 percent your heart, 30 percent your head. And also, I hope to do Toho some old school justice! I remember when I was little, I cheered upon seeing Godzilla come in to save the day! I wanted to do that here too, where the children cheer to see their favorite monsters save the day! What would you do in a situation like this?
