Monsters and Magic

By: DJ Rodriguez

(Author's Notes: Hi everyone! How are you all doing? I'm doing fine… well, except for the fact that no one reviewed my previous chapter. I got a lot of visitors and views, but no reviews… oh well.. guess that is how it goes. In any case, here is the latest chapter in my novel here! Also, please note that the monsters here have the weakness/strengths as they do in their respective movies, and also in the video games like Godzilla: Save the Earth and Godzilla: Unleashed.

In this chapter, King Triton does all he can to give Atlantica and the ones on land some time to prepare for what is to come! King Eric, Queen Ariel, and the others fortify their defenses to see if they can hold off this massive invasion! Also, the kids return and give the grown-ups some info on what is heading their way.

Before I go, I will tell you all that familiar and new faces will be popping up later on in order to aid our heroes, heroines, and the monsters! I promise you all, it will blow you all away! Please trust me and keep on reading, and hopefully reviewing, as the story continues on!

I do not own Godzilla or any of Toho's creations, nor do I own any of the Disney characters, both from the movie and cartoon series. I do own my own OC characters, and also the songs so far that I have been creating. Now, on with the fanfic!)

Chapter 19

King Triton had seen many things in his decades as King of Atlantica, done many things and also stood in front of any foe that would try to deliver harm to his kingdom, people, and family. But now, the powerful and prideful ruler of the oceans and his soldiers were staring at towering beasts that would put even the legendary titans that were spoke of in stories to shame! The mermen soldiers all gaped and swam back little by little as the forces of Maleficent came down upon them. The king was gaping like his soldiers, his mouth open wide in shock, but it lasted only for a moment. He closed it, his mouth a grim line of determination. He took aim the gigantic crocodile-vine like monster, Biolantte, and shot at her a most powerful blast of energy magic from his trident! The speeding beam of magic and energy streaked towards the monster like a yellow comet, striking at her head and causing the monster to shriek angrily. It seemed that magic and radioactivity did not mix well, and it showed as the half-sister of Godzilla shook her head to ease the pain. Sadly though, due to massive difference in size, the blast only felt like a bee sting to the kaiju.

King Triton was a bit relieved to see that his magical blasts affected this massive creatures, but it only lasted briefly as he saw that the beam did not have any kind of other effect other then enraging them. He turned to his soldiers and exclaimed, "All of you, fall back! Swim as fast as you can to Atlantica! Warn the population, tell them to evacuate the kingdom!". He took aim at the red dinosaur, Titanosaurus, and unleashed another powerful blast of magic at it! Titanosaurus's weakness was supersonic waves, and while King Triton's weapon did not emit these particular kinds of waves, the magical frequency that it used was close to it and it was enough to cause some damage to the red amphibious dinosaur when it struck its chest! The crimson behemoth shrieked in angry, shaking in both fury and a little bit of pain from the attack. However, like Biolantte, it was more like a bite from an insect then anything else.

The mermen was stunned, both at the creature's being in pain from the magical attacks, and also at their king's orders. One of the mermen yelled, "Your Highness! You want us to abandon you?! You want us to swim away while you take these… these… titans alone?!". No one could find fault in this exclamation, though. His mermen were loyal, through and through. The very thought of leaving their ruler was unthinkable to them, especially when said ruler was facing down beings that seemed to be affected very little by his trident's magical might. They were afraid of these creatures, yes… but they were still willing to stand with the Triton and fight!

The king glared at them all as he aimed his trident at the strange bug hybrid, Megalon. He thundered, "DO AS YOU ARE TOLD! I WILL HOLD OFF THESE CREATURES AS MUCH AS I CAN, BUT DO YOUR DUTY! MORE THEN MYSELF IS AT STAKE HERE, AND YOU ALL KNOW THIS! SO DO AS YOUR KING COMMANDS YOU! LEAVE, AND GET THE CITIZENS OF ATLANTICA TO SAFETY! DO IT NOW!". He yelled loudly as he put his trident's magical might to full power as he shot a powerful, thick stream of energy at the huge insect! However, all were surprised when the golden light did not harm the creature… instead, it seemed that the titan absorbed the beam! While Megalon was vulnerable in many aspects, one of his main advantages was that he could absorb electrical energy to heal him. And while the magic did cause him a little bit of discomfort, the energy was absorbed into his body, and Megalon screeched in delight.

All of the merfolk was stunned, including King Triton. 'No living being on this earth could have absorbed it! What are they?! It seems that I have no choice but to unleashed the trident's full might! I just hope it is enough…' the king thought as he prepared himself for the fight of his life. The mermen soldiers were still hesitant on leaving their leader to fight this massive threat alone, but orders were orders. That, and they knew that Triton would most likely zap their tail fins for disobeying him. With one last look to their beloved ruler, the soldiers took off from the area fast. The king turned from seeing his loyal soldiers go back to the otherworldly creatures, and just in time too in order to avoid a tentacle bite from Biolantte. He also had to swim fast to avoid a claw swipe from Titanosaurus. Anyone who saw this had to give King Triton credit; though old in age, it seemed he had plenty of life in his body and spirit.

He glared at the behemoths and shouted, "YOU CREATURES SHALL NOT PASS ME! I WILL NOT LET YOU ROAM FREE IN MY OCEAN!". He then brought up the full might of his trident, one of the most magical and powerful of weapons in the mortal realm. He had to concentrate and focus, and it was put to the limit and test when he had to dodge and evade attacks from both Titanosaurus's claws and Megalon's lighting blasts that erupted from his horn. The ruler of the ocean was very much surprised to see the monstrous bug being able to shoot blasts of lighting, different from an electric eel, but he managed to keep his focus and bring his full power to bear.

Up on the surface, Maleficent was patiently waiting for her titanic minions to retrieve her new weapon… when she saw that the skies above grew dark. She went outside from her quarters to see that indeed, the skies had gone completely dark when just a few seconds ago, it was clear as could be. She frowned, wondering on what caused this. Then, she remembered something from her original self's past. 'My original self… she read books on the various myths and such from all over the known land, to see if she could acquire any items of power that were linked to said myths! That is how she was able to acquire the four magical objects such as Poseidon's Seahorse. I believe that the king of the ocean is now bringing up to bear the full might of the trident, since it is the known weapon of the Greek god Poseidon himself.' she thought. And now showing before her, a massive storm was coming in. A tempest was building, and they were at its center! Winds started to howl, lighting flashed in the sky in brilliant blue flashes, and rain poured down from the heavens like nothing else! The armies of Maleficent were now panicking, their craft rocking and swaying terribly and the rain beating down on them. To the half-creatured hordes of evil, these rain drops were like acid.

However, Maleficent stood firm and straight on the ship. Her face was devoid of any emotion, and she was just looking at the tempest that was now raging around them. She glowed in a black and green aura, her power flaring out. She started to chant a spell, "O, evil spirits of the nether plane, heed my call! Form a barrier around this vessel, give me the power to stand tall!". Her evil magic flared up around her, and when she slammed her staff on the craft, a bubble of green and black magic encircled the sea vessel! The rain was now kept out, though the rocking did not cease. Ebriah, who was holding onto said craft, was having a little difficulty keeping his balance due to the action happening in the ocean.

~At the Marcel Castle~

The entire household was now preparing for the worst, the servants at work fast and furious. Things that were to be taken down were done so, stored in a safe place, while things that could not be taken down or moved were anchored to their places as best they could. It seemed that Eric had been correct in having everyone prepare for the worse, because in front of them now was a storm… one that just quickly came out of nowhere, materialized out of thin air. Even though the center of the storm was far off, in the distance, the size of the storm was growing and it would not be long until the force of nature would hit land. Ariel whispered with awe as she saw the spectacle with her husband and her friends, "Daddy is bringing up to bear the full power of the trident… he's calling up all of its power…". To her knowledge, she had never seen her father use the trident to its full power. Ursula the Sea Witch had done when she got hold of the trident, but she more or less misused it and could not bring up its full potential and use. Now, it seemed that in her father's hands, the trident was being used to its full extent and power.

Her husband looked down from the balcony they were all on and saw Captain Jackson Dashboard, yelling orders at his troops and recruits. The king called out, "Captain Dashboard! Are the cannons set up and ready?". It seemed that Eric was taking no chances with the possible threat of attack from an enemy. His fellow kings agreed with him, and also the queens stated that it was better safe than sorry later on.

Dashboard replied, "The cannons are lined up and are being prepared. Most are in line, the barrels aiming at the ocean. However, we need more confirmation on what we are dealing with here. How long until we can receive more information?". Eric answered that the information would be coming from the children, most likely the Twin Fairies. The captain nodded, giving a salute before going off to inspect the cannons; their position, the amount of gunpowder they had, and also how many rounds they had. He was also going to make sure that his son William would not do anything foolish like he did at the party last night. After the stunt he pulled, Jackson was now keeping an eye on him like an eagle would to his prey. Should he start to slack off, fall behind or disobey an order… a swift kick in the behind was dealt to him, courtesy of his father.

The wind kicked up more fiercely, and many of the servants and hired hands were securing the last of the objects inside the home before going into the palace. Ariel and the royals opted to stay outdoors, wanting to see their children coming to the abode before going inside. Cinderella turned to Eric and inquired, "Eric, are you sure the children are on their way here? Did the messengers get through to the village in time?". Her answer came in the form of a roar, a familiar one that came from the front courtyard. The royal families quickly left the balcony, went inside and headed down the stairs. When they got there, it was Aurora who opened the front door and everyone saw that Godzilla was coming! And he was not alone, for following behind him were Mothra and Anguirus. The humans heard a familiar noise coming from above, and they looked up to see that Rodan was close by in the sky. However, it seemed that the former titan was having a little difficulty maintaining balance in the whipping winds. And what was surprising that the monsters had the kids with them!

It was true; Godzilla was having Melody on his right shoulder, Tracy on his left. Mothra had Kathrin riding on her back, the Twin Fairies were situated in the princess's basket. They were wearing the new silk clothes from the Oriental store, and when they saw the storm coming in, Kathrin told them to get into the basket so they did not get their new clothes ruined. On Kathrin's right arm was the basket that had the gifts that Edgard bought for her, plus the mystical women. Mainard was riding on the exposed neck part of Anguirus, and it seemed that the monster did not mind in the least. Edgard and Dianne were riding atop Rodan, the two actually enjoying the little turbulent ride. And it seems that the gifts/accessories that the children gave them were still on them, staying faithfully on the visitors from another universe. Following behind Anguirus was the carriage that took them to the village earlier, but inside was Godfred and Nicholas. It seemed that the children opted to go back to the palace on their bonded friends, so that left the two guards to follow them in the carriage.

"I wonder why Daddy wanted all of us to come back home so early? Do you think something is wrong?" Melody asked her friend, both of them having their hands in front of their faces to block out the wind and the rain. They were getting drenched for sure, but it did not matter for they wanted to be with their bonded companions.

Tracy replied, "I don't know! Maybe he heard about this storm coming up, and just wanted us to come back to the palace so we could spend the rest of the time there instead of at the village!". However, something was not right about this at all. Earlier, all of them were together at a certain part of the village, enjoying some time together and also telling on what occurred on their separate dates. The group of royals and their local companions would have gone somewhere to find something to eat when a messenger from the palace approached them. Melody saw the nervousness on the young man's face, especially when said messenger stated that everyone wanted them back to the palace quickly. Melody inquired to what was going on, until something occurred with the monsters. Godzilla looked at the direction of the palace, growling and seemingly agitated. Mothra, Rodan, and Anguirus did the same, all of them looking at the direction of the castle and seemingly getting quite upset. Dianne asked on what was going on with the monsters, and the answer the Twin Fairies gave them sent a shiver to their spines.

Moll and Lora answered, "The monsters feel that something is very wrong. That something un-natural is going on and we feel it too. It is evil and yet… also familiar. Something is making its way here, and now it has gotten Godzilla and the others quite agitated.". After some silence, and watching the former titans just growling and moving around like they wanted to be at the very place where the storm was forming, all of them decided to heed the message and head back for home. Melody and Dianne thanked Oliver and Hadrian respectively for showing them a good time, and the two boys replied that it was both a pleasure and honor. The goodbyes between the two couples lingered for a while before Melody and her friends started to get prepared in returning to the castle. However, Edgard suggested that instead of going back in the carriage that brought them in… why not ask the monsters to give them a lift? And so, the humans went to their respective monsters and asked if they would be willing to take them back home. Godzilla and the others understood this, that their bonded wished to carry them back to the place where they dwelt.

When the messenger saw that the children had some transportation back to the palace, he bowed to the creatures and royal pre-teens before going off to look for Godfred and Nicholas.

Now back at the present, the children discovered something when riding with their friends. They started to FEEL them, in the same manner when Melody felt Godzilla releasing his fighting spirit to sense for danger and such a short while ago. Tracy and Melody gasped a little when they felt the spirit of the King of the Monsters. For a few seconds, they started to feel the life force of every living thing around them! It was incredible, and left them a little breathless. While it lasted only for a brief moment, it was those moments that they would never forget. It was the same thing with Kathrin when she was sitting down on Mothra, she felt the life force of living things around her. Plus, she swore she could see aura. Being the Queen of the Monsters and a Guardian of Earth, the giant worm and her tiny retainers could see auras. And each aura had a different color, signifying if the living being was good, bad or anything in-between it. Though it only lasted a moment like with Melody and Tracy, the daughter of Snow White would never forget it.

Mainard was having the same experience with Anguirus, the prince was a little blown away when he felt the incredible fighting spirit of his friend. He felt the need to fight, he felt the need to go in and take on whatever that was making his blood boil. The son of Belle experienced it for a few moments like the others, but it was a feeling he would not forget anytime soon. 'Whoa… now I know why Godzilla is best friends with him. Anguirus here… he is like me! Brave and a little bit reckless! And the courage… wow!' he thought. Mainard had a newfound respect for his friend. It was the same for Edgard and Dianne, who felt the strong spirit of Rodan. In the air, they felt his need for speed… his need to meet whatever it was that was getting him riled up and face it. The fraternal twins of Aurora were a little stunned on what they felt, something more incredible then just flying fast and free in the air.

'I need to talk to the fairies and my parents on this!' each of them thought nearly at the same time. They soon saw the castle coming into view, and their parents waiting for them outside the door. Godzilla stopped once he reached a decent distant from the house, squatting down and allowing his two bonded human to climb down to the ground safely. Mothra did the same thing, scuttling to the saurian's left side and stopping to let Kathrin slide down with her basket and the Twin Fairies inside it. Anguirus stopped on Godzilla's right side, lowering himself so that Mainard could jump down safely without getting cut by the spikes. Rodan screeched before managing a good landing on Anguirus's side, landing on his belly so that Dianne and Edgard could slide down and off before he could stand up straight again. Once they were safely on the ground, the parents rushed out to meet their flesh and blood.

"Are you all alright? Did everything go well at the village?" Asce asked, the mothers leading their children into the home. Tracy answered that they were alright… a little wet and soggy, but alright. Once they were inside, the servants brought in some large, fluffy towels for the royal families to use. The womenfolk started to dry off the young ones while the men directed them to the living room couch. Godfred and Nicholas also entered the abode, Carlotta giving them towels so they could dry off as well. Once they were situated, the group started to get more adjusted before striking up a conversation.

"So, what happened at the village? We've been wondering if the monsters were received well in there, after the party and all last night." Snow White inquired. Each of the pre-teens told their story on what occurred at the village; from when they entered the humble town, to their little encounter with the six noble bullies, and also on their little… dates. First one to start their story was Melody, then Tracy followed by Kathrin, Dianne, Edgard, and finally Mainard. The mothers and fathers were proud that their kids went on their first dates, but Eric and Philip wanted to talk to Oliver and Hadrian in the future. It seemed that protective father instinct was rising up, but Melody managed to make them put the instincts on hold for now when she told them that they managed to find some accessories for Godzilla and the others. The pre-teens pointed outside, and true to their word, the parents saw the new items on the monsters. Ariel and her female friends had to admit, the items did look presentable on the monsters.

Kathrin asked, "Dad, shouldn't we let the monsters in? I believe it's getting worse outside.". Florian was about to tell his daughter that it would be possible to fit their large friends into the abode, but something happened that made them silent for a moment. Godzilla and his allies all roared at once, and the King of the Monsters then trudged out from the front courtyard and made his way to the edge where the castle overlooked the beach. He took a leap of faith, literally, and landed on the sand! It was a good ten or so feet drop from there to the ground! Fortunately for the saurian, he still had excellent and quick healing, so his feet just tingled a bit after hitting the hard, wet sand. Anguirus took the same leap as well, landing on all fours beside his best friend. Mothra scuttled on the rock, showing her excellent clinging abilities as she went to the beach as well. Rodan jumped and glided softly down on the wet sandy shore, using his wings as sails to catch the wind and ease the drop.

All four former titans were now staring hard at the beach, all ignorant of the rain and wind that was whipping about them, paying little heed to the lighting flashing in the sky.

Everyone saw this display through the window, and the humans were wondering on what was causing them to act like this. They were startled a little when they heard the voices of the Twin Fairies speak, "Godzilla and the others are on guard.". Kathrin looked down, seeing the basket still in her hands and mentally slapping herself for forgetting about the tiny women. She put the basket down, opened it up and took out the mystical beings. Both were safe and dry, as were their clothing and the present that Edgard got for her. The humans went to the dining room, putting the fairies on the table. The company were a little surprised to see the tiny women in new clothing, but would ask about it at a later date.

Philip asked, "What do you mean on guard? What are they doing, exactly?".

Moll answered, "The monsters; Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra and Anguirus. They sense something un-natural in the air, in the very storm itself. They also sense something coming in this direction… towards us.".

Lora continued, "They feel that it is evil, that it threatens not just them but you all as well. They are now preparing to fight whatever it is that is coming this way.". The pre-teens and adults were a little stunned by this announcement, and Melody plus her friends felt honored more that the monsters were now willing to face whatever it was that was coming their way. It was after the explanation that Ariel and Eric remembered on why they called their young ones back in the first place, but before they could say anything… Sebastian crawled and revealed himself to them, speaking out loud as he scuttled from the stairs and was heading their way. Apparently, he had been upstairs since he arrived, and had heard the monsters coming. He decided to go downstairs to see what was happening, and after hearing about the monster's actions, he decided to make himself known and tell his story.

"I tink them beasts got the right idea! Something IS coming this way, and very bad at dat!" he exclaimed, getting the attention of all. Melody was a little startled to see her small friend with them, kneeling down and letting Sebastian scuttle onto her hands. She scooped him up and set him gently down on the table beside the Twin Fairies.

"Excuse me, Mr. Sebastian. But, what exactly are you talking about? And why are you here instead of at Atlantica?" Edgard inquired. It was then that both Sebastian, plus Ariel and Eric, told them on what was going on and the real reason why they summoned them back from the village. Upon hearing the description of the monsters, the Twin Fairies paled considerably and they had looks of shock on their faces. After everything was said and done by both parties, all eyes, both human and crustacean, were on the idential fairies. Eric then asked them if the creatures that were on their way were familiar to them.

The Twin Fairies answered as one, "Yes, they are. From the description you just stated, these four are indeed the same monsters that were with us when we were summoned to this world.". Melody and the others then recalled the story that the mystical women told them about when they first met, and even though it was only a few days ago, to them… it felt like an age.

Moll started out, "Godzilla and his allies, or rivals in some cases, were fighting with some of their mortal enemies. One of them was considered a bit of an exception given on how she was born, and who she is related to. During the fight, we were all caught in the summons circle, and brought here to this universe. We managed to escape the magical tunnel due to our magic interfering with it, but we did not know the fate of the other four.".

Lora continued, "The four monsters that were with us during the fight, and the trip to this universe are Biolantte, Megalon, Titanosaurus, and Ebriah. Megalon is a god deity for the underwater kingdom of Seatopia in our world, and this kingdom plus their people are highly advanced… but hate humanity on the surface world. They send Megalon up above when they can so that he can devastate the people and the surface. He is half cockroach, half rhinoceros beetle, has the ability to both fly and dig into the earth, and has the power of lighting. He was, however, beaten by Godzilla and driven back into his home world under the sea.". The humans listened intently on what was being told, Ariel and Sebastian surprised to learn about a sea kingdom that existed in Godzilla's home world.

Moll picked up, "Titanosaurus is a large dinosaur that survived the extinction age of his race. He is amphibious like Godzilla, being able to live on both land and in the sea. He has grown much larger then his ancestors did in that age, and also was very gentle and preferred to be alone. However, he was used by beings from another planet and changed to obey the whims of an obsessive scientist who was allied to these beings. And even though he has been defeated by Godzilla in the past, Titanosaurus holds a deep grudge against him.".

Lora explained more, "Ebriah is a large lobster, mutated due to the same poisonous energy that created Godzilla and Anguirus. He likes to feast on anything that moves, and very much dislikes the extract of lemons and such. Godzilla defeated him in battle some time ago, breaking off both of his pincers. But, they grew back and he holds a grudge against Godzilla.". The humans were seeing a pattern here, that the King of the Monsters obviously made a lot of enemies. And that he earned the title by defeating many who came to challenge him.

The twins spoke as one on this last bit of information, "The last one is Biolantte, she is… she is Godzilla's half-sister. She was created when a scientist who lost his daughter in an accident fused together a rose plant with a piece of large skin that was left behind by Godzilla. He believed that his daughter, named Erika, lived in the roses he planted in a greenhouse. When his plants were destroyed in an earthquake, he believed that by fusing the two together would bring her back. And it did… in the form of a huge monster that is half-plant, half-Godzilla with a gentle, strong female soul inside. Thus why she is Godzilla's half-sister.". That last part stunned the humans, especially the females. Melody was wondering on why a person who delved in science would try to even bring back someone, even if they lived in plants. In her view now, this science was a kind of sorcerery… one that should not be taken lightly at all.

The Twin Fairies finished up, "Godzilla and Biolantte met one time, and fought. When he killed Biolantte with his Radiation Death Breath, it was discovered that this monster was immortal. While burning up, she dissolved into particles of gold spores that flew into the atomosphere, into the heavens. Later on, Biolantte came back down to earth… but changed. In her first form, she resembled a huge rose with teeth lined in the center of its petals. But when she came back down again to challenge Godzilla… she had changed into something like a cross between a crocodile and a plant. She towered over Godzilla, and the two fought each other again. Biolantte has living tentacle vines, with heads like a Venus flytrap. And she, plus the vines, can spit out an acidic sap that can melt almost through anything. She is also very resistant to physical attacks.".

Needless to say, the humans and musical crab were just in awe at what they were told. The adults plopped into nearby chairs, while the pre-teens stood up on their legs, Sebastian opting to have his jaw just drop to the wooden table. Tracy muttered, "Wow… just… wow! I never knew that your world had such unique creatures! A huge bug hybrid god that shoots lighting and flies plus burrows, a once gentle dinosaur and lobster with a grudge problem against the King of the Monsters… and also that said king has a half-sister created by science-sorcery!". Melody and the others silently agreed with her on this one, especially the fact hitting them hard was that these powerful creatures were now in their realm, and heading towards Atlantica and most likely where they were at now.

Léandre inquired, "Excuse me, Lora and Moll. But… what was the exact size of these monsters? Both the ones you just described, and also Godzilla and the others?". The mystical twins then gave off an accurate height, length, and also weight of all of the monsters that was in this world now. Thanks to their mystical abilities, they possessed knowledge like that and when the humans heard about it… the humans were now more then a little worried. Eric looked to Sebastian and asked if the creatures heading towards Atlantica were as big as he told them earlier. The musical Jamaican genius answered that he did not know, the true size of the behemoths was not known when the scout reported to the merman soldier. The humans then looked to their source of kaiju information, the Twin Fairies.

The twins answered as one, "We do not know either. We shrank because when we used our power to cut off the summoning spell from us, only us four were affected. Different magic's from different universes apparently create chaotic, unseen affects. Thus, why Godzilla and the others shrank in size. We do not know if the others that are now on their way here have been shrunk, enlarged, or stayed the same when they landed at the place they were summoned.". The group saw that this was plausible, that magic's from different universes would have chaotic effects that not even they were aware of.

Eric rose up from his seat and stated firmly, "Everyone, make any and all preparations. We'll make a stand here! Hopefully, if these are the monsters that the fairies just told us about, they are also changed by the magic as well. We hope… just to be sure, get any and all things valuable packed. But make sure that it is something you can carry!". The royal families nodded, and started to head off upstairs to get the stuff they needed in case an evacuation was necessary. The royal young ones were about to follow when they saw their pictures by the couch. They were puzzled on why their works of art were here instead of in the Art Room. However, that was a little mystery that would be saved for a later date. They took their pictures upstairs, wanting to pack them in with their stuff in case that leaving the castle was necessary.

'We got a whole lot more then we bargained for! And it's just mid-afternoon!' all of them thought as they went to their respective rooms to pack.

~At the battlefield at sea~

If one should see what was occurring at sea right now, they would agree that this was a classic, intense clash of legendary proportions. King Triton was all alone, fighting off the forces of Maleficent with his potent and formidable trident. He unleashed whirlpools of such size and fury, trapping Titanosaurus in a vortex of fast-swirling waters. He called forth tsunami's of such strength and force to slam into Megalon, smashing the hybrid bug god with the water's awesome force! And also striking Biolantte with lighting energy, both from his trident and the storm above to hurt the half-plant, half-Godzilla creature! He was literally pulling out all the stops in order to either halt their movements towards Atlantica and land, or at least by his subjects some time to move far from Atlantica. And sadly for him, and for the rest of the kingdom later on, was that these titans retained their original size, shape… and power when they were plucked from their home world. Titanosaurus tried to plow through the whirlpool, but found out the hard way that the fast-moving water would damage him sufficiently if he tried that. So, he opened his tail sail, turned around and swished it back and forth to create a massive influx of rushing air that de-stabilized the whirlpool and caused it to disperse.

Megalon was being slammed hard by the waves, screeching in pain and annoyance as he tried to go through the massive force of water. When brute force did not work, the hybrid bug monster used his drill arms to cut through the pounding waves. When activated, the spinning drill arms cut through the waves like butter and was able to disrupt the power of the ocean before it could harm him. He also used his unique fire bombs, spitting them out and the red natural rocks exploding with the power of a large C-4 explosion that the waters would be blown to bits. It appears that the monsters were more intelligent than one gave them credit for.

Biolantte was using her own unique way to deal with the energy blasts from both the trident and the storm clouds above. She let her Venus-flytrap tentacle heads unleash their acidic sap at the magical blasts when Triton brought it out, and the two would cancel each other out in an explosive way. Since Biolantte was much larger, the shockwaves that came forth from the explosion did not harm her much. However for Triton… he was blown away by the blast and forced to right himself in the water, plus the burns he got on his body slowed down his reaction time. But not his determination! Biolantte also used her vines to create a sort of umbrella, the thick foliage able to withstand the blasts of lighting that was rained down from the storm clouds. True the vines would be badly damaged, but Biolantte had Godzilla's ability of healing, and when combined with plant's natural ability for regeneration, she could make more in mere seconds to replace the vines that were blown apart.

The king was badly hurt and taxed, using the power of the trident at full force was draining his energy and focus. Plus, having to dodge and evade the physical and long-range attacks from the monsters was taxing his body to the limit. He thought, 'I'm not as young as I used to be… these fins are showing their age, as my body is now. But, I have to keep going! My subjects and family are on the line!'. Through sheer willpower, he continued his blockade of wind, storm, and lighting to hold the monsters at bay. He managed to hold the line for about an hour, which was impressive consider what he was up against. However, it all ended when Biolantte got in a good shot with one of her tentacle vines, slamming into the ruler of the ocean with such force it knocked him out and also knocked the trident out of his hand. When the powerful magical object was released from his grip, the glowed died down significantly and the storms and waves ceased to be. The clouds were slowly breaking up, the sun coming through as the waves calmed.

Maleficent, who had been on the craft this whole time and watching the scenes before her, formed a wicked smile as she telepathically called to the half-sister of Godzilla, "Excellent work, my pets. Now, claim the golden weapon. Bring it to me!". Using some very fine control of her muscles, which was difficult considering her massive size, Biolantte used her plant vines to grab the trident and take it over to Maleficent. Triton was floating in the ocean, very much knocked out and hurt badly. Megalon was nearby, and when he saw the tasty morsel floating in the water, he decided to see how much the one who tried to hurt him taste like. He came closer, his massive maw opening up to devour the king. However, Fate herself decided to intervene and something fast swam out and got the ruler of the ocean before he could be devoured. Megalon saw the swift creature grab the one who summoned the waves and was a little bit angry when he saw that another half-human, half-fish creature come in and take away his meal. It was Sonia!

The elderly mermaid had swam to the battle zone shortly after telling her friends and companions to go towards the Marcel castle, telling them the situation and that their best bet was to stay near the palace of Eric and Ariel. She herself was about to go with Flounder, who had gotten his wife and kids with him, when she saw the mermen soldiers swimming to Atlantica… with no King Triton with them. Fearing the worst, she decided to go see on what was going on. Flounder, of course, tried to deter her from going to such a dangerous place. The lover of sea life answered that she felt that she needed to go, to help in any way… to aid her king. So with a farewell kiss to Flounder's head, she swam off fast as she could towards the danger zone. One would have to give the mature mermaid credit, she showed she still had some life left in her old fins. It took her some time to get to the danger zone, the place where the storm was originating from. She felt the power of the trident, even though she was still a mile or so away from the area, and it sent tingles through her human half. She came just in time to see Triton getting hit by the vine, and her ruler floating unconscious in the water.

Sonia was looking at the creatures now before her, her eyes wide and whispering, "By the gods of the sea… what ARE those?! I've never seen any creatures of this size and shape!". The preserver of life in the ocean was fascinated by these titans, but she snapped out of it when she saw the huge bug creature going to devour her ruler. She said a small prayer, asking for a last burst of speed, before swimming out to save Triton. It seemed that somebody up there heard her prayer, for she was able to swim fast and free before grabbing Triton and taking him out of harm's way.

Megalon was about to give chase after them, but the voice of his new mistress called out in his head, "Forget those creatures. Without the magical weapon, they are just harmless fish. They are no longer of significance to us. Come, return to the ship's side!". The bug-hybrid monster really wanted to snack on something, especially after enduring a battle, but it would not do good to displease his new mistress. So with a cry, it turned and went back to the craft. Sonia kept on swimming as fast as she could, not looking back until she deemed it necessary. Her hold on the king was a bit slippery, due to the difference in size, but she was able to manage. After a few minutes of swimming hard and fast, she glanced back to see that the monsters were not pursuing them. Slowly down significantly to catch her breath, she released Triton and examined him.

"Burn marks… possible concussion to the head… and his body is exhausted completely. I'm surprised that he held on for that long while using the trident for so long." she whispered. She learned that while the trident was extremely powerful, the owner had to be in both wisdom and physical strength to wield it. And even then, using it for a long time would drain the wielder and if used for far too long… a good chance the power itself would destroy the user. She was about to swim away again with him when he moved, coughing and trying to move. Sonia released him and allowed the ruler of the ocean to move around on his own a little. The king coughed, releasing the bad air from his lungs and clutching at his chest. He slowly opened his eyes, and his vision was hazy for a while, until a semi-clear picture formed in front of him. He soon saw Sonia, and his mind was now catching up to him.

He groaned and asked, "S-Sonia? What are you doing here?". His voice was weak and small, a vast contrast to the power and authority it once held. Sonia shook her head, sad that her king was now reduced to this. She held him to her a little, wanting to steady his body. She knew that he couldn't move much, let alone swim.

She answered, "I came in time to save you, your Highness. You were knocked out by that plant beast, and was about to be devoured when I acted and swam in time to get you away. You're pretty hurt, sire.". He nodded, then his right hand clutched for something but only got empty space. He looked around, then at the elderly mermaid. He asked on where his trident was at, and Sonia shook her head. She replied that his trident was taken, the gigantic vine creature snagging it before retreating. Triton struggled now, but every moment he made sent shots of pain throughout his body. She quickly grabbed a hold of him, and soon the king was out like a light again.

'He can't do anything in this condition! It's going to take his body at least until nightfall to recover enough to swim on its own power. I got to take him somewhere safe and look after him.' she thought. It was true; using the trident at full power for over an hour sapped Triton's strength, and getting hit by the monsters only worsened the deal. The king was now in the care of Sonia, and the mermaid was going to do her best to make sure he recovered with little to no problem! Sonia looked all over, and found a little cave on the seafloor. It was big enough for Triton and her, and also would provide protection for any kind of sea creatures that bared any grudge towards the ruler of Atlantica. She gently swam down and leaned the king against the rocky outcropping. Once she made sure he was comfortable, she swam out to keep guard.

She said out loud, "What could that creature possibly gain from getting the trident? Only those that are sentient like Triton can use it. So… why?". It was a long line of questions that was popping into her head, unfortunately she would not like the answer when she found out later in the future.

~On the surface~

Maleficent had Ebriah stop his movements, giving the lobster's body a little rest from the ferrying. She dispersed the magical bubble when the storms had subsided, and the humanoid demonic animals were glad that the waves and rain had ceased. She looked to her front to see Biolantte rising from the depths, her burn and slash marks fading rapidly much to the witch's delight. She looked at the creature created by science and ordered, "Give me what I ordered you to bring.". Biolantte growled a little before sending a vine to the sorceress. It uncurled itself to reveal the golden, glowing trident! Maleficent's eyes rose a little in wicked glee, a sinister smile on her face as she took the magical object and grasped it tightly. Already, she could feel power surging through her! Not just magic, but raw power! The power of the oceans was now at her command! She laughed in wicked glee, and the weapon started to turn from a brilliant golden hue… to the color of black and green, the same color as the mortal enemy of Aurora and Philip. In a matter of moments, Maleficent's corrupt magic had twisted and perverted the trident until it was now different.

The trident was now black as the night sky with no moon, and the three spear-points were now green as the seaweed. The trident was giving off a sick aura, one that matched its owner.

The sorceress stopped her laughter and became calm, examining her latest addition to her magical cache. She studied the object and after a few moments, commented to herself, "It seems that the trident can change shape and form, if the owner has magical abilities. It shows the true form of the one who holds it… and I have to say, seeing such wickedness like this would warm my heart… if I had one. Hehehe…". She was tempted to test out her new weapon, but decided against it for now. She would test it out in due time… perhaps against her enemies, which were still ahead of her. She forced the object to shrink, until it would fit inside the palm of her well-manicured hand, then put it in her left pocket.

She turned to her forces and exclaimed, "We have lost time, perhaps an hour or so to our destination! But no matter! All of you, take your positions again! We head out now! And should any of you find the city where the one who delayed us… DESTROY IT ALL!". The monsters roared loudly before taking positions around the ship like before. Biolantte was the last to sound off, something inside of her was telling her to not harm the kingdom where her enemy ruled. It was the spirit of Erika, the human soul who was now and forever bonded to creature. Sadly though, even the combined forces of Erika and Godzilla's will was not enough to stop the mind and will-bending magical power of Maleficent. Perhaps one day… one day, she would be free. Until then, she had to bide her time and plan on how to free herself from the sorceress's control.

The monsters and their mistress were on the move again!

(Author's Notes: I will stop right here. Chapter 20 is going to be big, so I need another chapter in order to get the action in when Maleficent and her minions make landfall! Also, the fate of Atlantica will be shown there as well. So, what do you all think?

If you were one of King Triton's soldiers, or maybe Sonia, what would your thoughts be on seeing Triton duking it out with three titanic monsters? Also, if you were King Eric or Queen Ariel, what would your orders be to the servants and soldiers after hearing the explanation of the four monsters from the Twin Fairies?

I really hope to get more reviews soon! It really makes my day, and motivates me, to create chapters and work more harder on this novel. If this was like any of the old-school movies like I have seen, like Gone with the Wind, there would be an intermission here. Hehehe… still having hopes and dreams that this would be turned into a classic Disney movie of old!

R&R, no flames, enjoy, and leave long reviews!)
