Monsters and Magic

By: DJ Rodriguez

(Author's Notes: Hi everyone! Again, only got a couple of reviews… oh well, guess have to move on. In any case, this chapter is all about on how the heroes and heroines plan and start to infiltrate the massive fortress-palace of Maleficent!

Sorry if this is short, but I do feel a little bit bummed out about the lack of reviews. I have a lot of hits and visitors and such, according to the stats… but little to no reviews. Even the ones who reviewed before like Regina and such are not reviewing. Kinda makes me feel bummed. I was hoping to get some energizing reviews on how I brought in the other characters that helped out the classic characters before in their respective movies. But… nothing, nada, zip. Oh well… nothing I can do on that but continue on, best I can!

Just to let any and all of you know, this fanfic features the Godzilla and monsters of the 1990's. So it is not the Godzilla of the 2000 series, nor the Legendary Godzilla that has come in theaters in 2014. I do not own Godzilla nor any of the Toho monsters, nor do I own the Disney characters. I do own my own OC's, and the songs I have created so far. Any kind of song I do not own, I give full credit and due to the artists who made and sang said song.

Now, on with the fanfic!)

Chapter 23

There was much activity in the secret grove that was shielded from the prying eyes of Maleficent. A meeting was being started there, with the members being an unusual bunch. It consisted of several humans, seven dwarves, a handful of magical fairies, mystical twins from another universe, and an enchantress. Another group watched the meeting of minds nearby, and this group consisted of Godzilla, Rodan and Anguirus. The monsters could only watch a little bit impatiently as the meeting got underway. Flora found a large rock and transformed it into a large circular stone table, with every one taking a space among it. Melody was the first to start things out, putting some spare paper on the stone table so some of the people could use them. Merryweather turned a small branch into a quill pen, and took out some ink from her magical satchel. The princess looked to everyone and asked, "Okay now, what do we all know so far?".

Captain Jackson Dashboard took the pen and a sheet of paper, drawing what seemed to be a map of the surrounding area. Though he was a little bit old, he had a sharp memory that came in handy on many occasion. Once he was done, he showed the map to everyone. It was a rather impressive diagram that showed the location of Maleficent's stronghold, the surrounding landscape and also where they were now. He stated, "Here is what we know so far, Princess. Right now, we have been held up here for several days. Outside of this grove, the enemy's touch has been severe on the landscape and environment. It is now a wasteland, with the enemy's troops patrolling the area and us not being able to stay out for too long to look for any kind of food. Take in mind the four titanic monsters that are now back in this area, things have been very grim.". That was an understatement, and everyone knew it. Sebastian inquired if the sea was infected by Maleficent's toxic magic, and it was Fauna that answered the small crab.

She said, "Oh, no Mr. Sebastian. When we came over here after getting everyone, we saw that the ocean has not been infected. It is not been touched by Maleficent's power, not dirty and ugly like the land is now.". The Good Fairies were still a little stunned to see and hear a talking crab, as the animals they had back at their realm did not talk. The wildlife back there were quite intelligent, but not enough to convey words like Sebastian. Said crab breathed a sigh of relief, glad that the sorceress's power did not affect his home. Little did Sebastian know that while Maleficent did wield the trident, she could not pollute it with her dark magic even if the weapon had been warped by her touch and will.

Hadrian asked as he looked to the dwarves, "The witch's new palace is totally made of earth, formed by her magic I think. Do you think you can dig through it?".

Grumpy made a sound and replied, "Feh! We dwarves can dig through anything! Be it hard rock or earth, we can crack and go right through it!". Doc added that they all have been working in mines that held precious gemstones and such all their lives, so they had the ability to dig through any kind of earth. Will had a greedy gleam in his eyes when he heard about the precious gemstone mine, but Oliver was quick to slap him upside the back of the head to remove his train of thought for a while. The teenager glared at the African pre-teen, and said teen just gave him a hard look before turning his attention back to the group.

Minos stated, "Well, at least we know now that we can tunnel into the fortress. But now the question is, where do we tunnel?". The group went over the map, and though several suggestions were put on the table, many started to object as they pointed out the flaws in said ideas. After several moments, it was Regina and Carlitos that ended the discussion. The small but brave girl looked at the map, and after some time searching it with her eyes, found something that most of the adults missed. She tried to get everyone's attention, but they kept on talking and arguing with one another. Her brother let loose a sharp whistle that caused everyone to stop, flinch from the noise, and look strangely at the boy. Once he saw that he had everyone's attention, Carlitos looked to his sister and nodded. It was his way of saying to show them what she found.

Regina pointed at the map and her little finger was on what seemed to be a ridge that was near the ocean. She asked, "How about if we just swim behind that mean old witch's castle? If the water is not dirty like it is outside the grove, how about we do that? Mr. Dashboard, didn't you say that those scary soldiers did not like the water?". Jackson did remember seeing Maleficent's forces go mad when they came into contact with the water; he had seen Godzilla fire his blue flame at the horde when they tried to scale up the cliff wall, and a few of the demonic soldiers fell and stumbled into the shore. When the waves came and lapped at them gently, they screeched loudly like they were just dunked in acid or something similar and ran fast and furious from the water. He confirmed what Regina inquired, stating that he did see the demonic forces fleeing from the water like it was a plague. After a bit more of discussion, they agreed that sneaking through the back way via the ocean was the best choice. Regina and Carlitos smiled, getting rewarded with pats on the head and back. Their parents were very proud of their little ones for the way they did what the adults could not do.

Sebastian said, "If we be takin the ocean, I'll see if I can get some help. If I can get to the water der, I can swim out and see if I can find some merfolk to help.". Melody and the others saw that his plan was indeed sound, that hopefully there would be some mermen or mermaids nearby that could help them with swimming to the fortress-palace. Any kind of assistance would be appreciated at this point. Fauna volunteered to go and take the musical genius to the ocean, to the place that was on the map. Captain Dashboard told her to go in the direction of slightly southeast, and the ridge should be there. The green-clad fairy thanked the good soldier, scooping up Sebastian in her hands before flying off quickly to the area. As they saw her off, the others hoped that she would be able to get the Jamaican crab to the drop-off area and come back without being seen by the enemy. When she was out of sight, they all gathered together to see to one another vital plan. One of the soldiers asked on who would be leading this little excursion to sneak into the lair of the witch, and that is when things got serious.

Mainard said, "First off, just one question to the dwarves. Can you handle water?". Doc answered that while they got used to being soaked in water thanks in part to Snow White and the Rhoda royal family, they were not sure if they could handle something as vast and different as the ocean. Getting wet in a tub or a stream was one thing… the ocean, was another. Rosalie offered to help them, saying that she could put a spell on them that would cover each individual dwarf in a protective bubble. The bubble would allow them to be kept dry even in water, and would allow them to breathe like they were on land. However, she stated that the spell would only last thirty minutes, or when they got out of the water. After that… they were on their own. The leader of the Seven Dwarves said it would have to do, especially in these circumstances. Dopey made a comical face like he was drowning, and some of the little ones giggled. Serious situation or not, the youngest dwarf knew how to make anyone laugh.

Tracy picked up, "Okay, now we have something to protect the dwarves when they get into the water. Now, who is going to lead them into the heart of the beast?". Captain Jackson immediately stated that he and his seven remaining soldiers would be infiltrating the nightmarish building.

However, Princess Melody had other ideas. She said, "I thank you for the offer, Captain Dashboard. However, I believe that there is only one group capable of pulling off this kind of gamble we are doing. Everyone… it is my responsibility to claim back what is rightfully ours. And since the witch Maleficent has also taken what belongs to my friends here, it is us that is going on this mission. Myself, Godzilla, Tracy, Mainard, Anguirus, Edgard, Dianne, and Rodan will be going with the Seven Dwarves to infiltrate the lair at its base.". This announcement was met with various kinds of outrage and outcries from the beings around her and the royal children. The magical beings, minus the Twin Fairies, insisted that the children stay here, and let the adults handle this kind of action. The grown-up humans and dwarves concurred, adding in that this was just way too risky for the royal children. Melody closed her eyes, let out a sigh and held up her hand. The group slowly settled down, the talking soon ceasing and the princess was now ready to say her piece. When she opened her eyes, the group saw that her eyes had changed. It showed that she carried a weight, one that many soldiers or fighters that went out to battle carried. The other royal children had the same look as well, staring at the adults in front of them. Godzilla and the other monsters sensed the change, and slowly went over to them.

Melody stated softly but firmly, "Look… I appreciate that all of you are concerned for us. Believe me, I'm very grateful for that. But… we have no other choice here. Maleficent's forces outnumber us greatly, and we have little to no useful weapons here for any kind of serious attack against her. The only ones that could take on her armies are the monsters, and we are the only ones who can understand them.". Godzilla nodded his head, standing over Melody and Tracy fiercely. Anguirus did the same with Mainard, and Rodan did likewise with Dianne and Edgard.

Mainard stated firmly, "Godzilla and the others have their own abilities, which many of you have witnessed before. But that was only a small portion of their power, their fighting spirit! Those fools inside that fortress won't know what hit them!". Minos stepped in, saying that while he admired the kids bravery, he felt that they were underestimating their enemy. Flora sided with him, saying that Maleficent was quite cunning and was no fool. That put a damper on things, but Melody and the other royal kids determination did not resolve. Tracy looked to the Three Good Fairies and asked if Maleficent alone had the power to summon the monsters from their universe.

Flora replied, "Oh, heavens no, child! The amount of magic needed to cross between two different universes would be enormous! And if what you kids and the Twin Fairies stated is true that all of the monsters were of titanic size back in their world, that would also take a good additional amount of magical power.". The others reflected on this, and it was Fatima who asked a critical question. She asked if there were some artifacts that could give Maleficent more power, and it was Rosalie who gave an answer. The enchantress stated that there were objects in this world that were enchanted by many of her kind, or even by the gods/goddesses of old themselves. Things were now looking good for the group, as now they were certain that Maleficent's power was not omnipotent as they thought.

Melody inquired, "If the witch used these objects to make herself more powerful and bring the monsters here, maybe by destroying them… not only will her magic weaken, but so will her control over the others?". Cateline answered that it was a possibility, but they would have to go deeper inside the fortress-palace to find out for sure. Will asked on what would be the point of freeing the controlled monsters from Maleficent's mind-control, and it was Edgard that answered this question. He said that it was better for the monsters to be free, and more likely run wild and cause damage to Maleficent's forces then for them to be under her control where they could do more damage to the kingdom.

Kathrin said, "Listen everyone, I am staying here and look after Mothra. I know I am not a fighter, so I would not be of much help to you out there. So, I'm staying here where I can see what can do.". Melody and the others nodded, Edgard stating that it was brave of her to say what she needed to say. In his view, owning up to one's limitations and yet still doing what one can regardless of said limitations was a sign of both courage and wisdom. The princess blushed slightly from the praise, but William opened his mouth and called her a weakling. Jackson turned and was about to serious reprimand his son, when Rodan picked him up by the collar with his beak, and threw the now scared teenager towards the webbing that encased Mothra. William was now stuck in the sticky webbing, and his struggling only made him more ensnared in it. The others smirked at this, some chuckling, and turned back to their meeting, ignoring the outraged shouts of the teenage boy.

Minos stated, "I am going with you. I do not doubt the abilities and strengths of your monster allies, your Highnesses. But you will most likely need some extra muscle in case the sorceress has something truly nasty waiting for any intruders.". Fatima added that she will go with them as well, stating quite firmly that wherever her husband goes, she goes. The royal children thanked them for their help, and Melody said that their talents would very much be welcomed. Godzilla looked at the couple, and the King of the Monsters saw strength in them. He nodded his head towards them, his way of saying that they were welcome aboard. Captain Jackson wished to come along as well, but the daughter of Ariel and Eric said that he was needed here with the others. He was about to protest when he was met with the gaze of the Twin Fairies, Moll and Lora.

Lora stated, "Brave captain, you are needed here more then you know. The mystical barrier we put here on the grove and the surrounding area has been weakening every day. The magical tree had made it possible to keep the barrier up for this amount of time, but now we fear that the shield that protected us from the evil one's eyes and forces will soon collapse.". Moll added in that they would be exposed, and since very few of the people here had any kind of military experience, they would need his leadership and guidance to see them through when the barrier did fall. This was serious news to everyone, and the captain of the Royal Guard saw the wisdom in their words. He let out a small sigh, a bit disappointed that he was not going to go with the group to the fortress-palace, but he knew that he had a more important duty now. And it was to ensure the safety of the ones who could not fight, especially his wife and son. He looked to the Twin Fairies and the royal children and stated with resolve that he would do his best to protect the people here when the barrier went down. That got a round of small cheering from the others, and that got a small smile off of him.

Flora put in, "Captain Dashboard, me and my sisters may provide some kind of assistance here. Though we cannot fight with our magic, our powers can help you and the others here. Me and my sisters can make weapons such as swords and shields, and also put up a barrier around this grove. It won't cover the entire area, and it doesn't have the hiding abilities like the twins magic, but it should do the job.". Earlier on, the fairies of this realm and the mystical twins from the other realm found out how different their abilities and powers were. Moll and Lora did not have magical cores like the Good Fairies, Cateline, and Rosalie had. They channeled their mystical abilities through the earth and through Mothra, the monster acting as a medium. And the magical beings of this universe saw that the Twin Fairies spells and charms were more powerful due to being connected to the planet. So it was a give and take for all of them, and now they were going to see to it to make very good use of both their strengths and weaknesses.

Rosalie inquired, "Princess Melody, a question. Do you believe that your parents, and the other adults, are alive?". That was a very touchy subject for the children, for everyone, but the enchantress needed to know.

The pre-teen princess answered, "I… I do believe that our parents are alive. I feel it in my heart. I believe that witch is keeping them alive, planning to use them for some purpose. I don't know what that it is, but I do know without any shred of doubt that they are still alive.". The others followed her call, saying they believed as well. The adults were a bit amazed by the conviction they showed, and also proud to see that the royals had such faith. Smiling, Rosalie lifted her wand up a little and it glowed brightly. A golden light shined brightly from it, taking the shape of an orb. The light lasted for a few minutes, then slowly died to down to reveal a blue medallion clasp of some sort floating in mid-air. The enchantress told Mainard to come forward to her, the prince did and when he was close to her, the medallion floated towards him and he reached out to take it. He saw that on the front of the medallion clasp was a shadowy silhouette of a human, a male from the looks of it. The prince was curious and asked the beautiful enchantress on what it was.

Rosalie answered, "This is a special clasp, one that your father wore on his purple cloak when he was the Beast. Should you see him in there, give it to him. It will grant your father the ability to change form and become the Beast once more, only he will have the power to change from human to beast at any time he wishes.". Mainard's eyes widened, as did the eyes of the rest of the crowd. The prince was now very glad for this gift, and was eager to see his father Léandre become the creature he often spoke of in his stories. He asked Rosalie if she could make him into a creature, but she shook her head in a negative response. Her magic was used for lessons to mortals that had stony hearts, and his heart was strong, good and true. The prince was a bit down, learning that he would not be able to turn into a creature. But Tracy cheered him up by saying that he had the tenacity and will of one, like Anguirus. The mutated Ankylosaurs growled, apparently agreeing with the princess. This cheered up Mainard a little, thanking the two for the words, or growl in the monster's case.

Dianne spoke up, "It seems we got everything planned out. We sneak into the base of the fortress-palace from the back via the sea, we find and free our parents, and then we go and take down the witch! And also find the objects she used that brought the monsters here, and most likely controlling the big ones. We destroy them, free the monsters and hopefully weaken Maleficent in the process.". Everyone nodded their heads, seeing that the plan was simple enough but that the real trick would be executing it and no hiccups along the way. Cateline then made some funny sounds, and all saw that her robes were fluttering somewhat.

"Oh! Oh! Oh, silly me! I forgot I brought you all along. Hold on a moment." the blue-robed fairy stated with a smile on her face as she reached into her clothing. The group was very puzzled by her actions, and more so when she took out from her robes was… mice. Four mice that wore what seemed to be clothing, sewed for them and apparently by someone with excellent taste. One wore an orange jacket with a red vest underneath, and on its head was a red cap and on its feet were brown leather shoes. The other one was quite round, wore a green shirt that was a size or two small for him, a green cap and brown shoes. They looked to be male, while the other two seemed to be female due to the clothing they wore. One wore a blue dress with a white apron, a blue ribbon at the end of her tail, and a blue hood that was attached to the dress. The other female mouse wore a purple version of the dress with a white apron, and the same colored bow on the end of her tail. They walked like humans did, on two legs, and this kind made some of the humans a bit unnerved upon seeing such intelligent animals.

Tracy looked at the mice, and her eyes widened as a smile formed on her face. She went over to them and exclaimed, "Jaq! Gus! Deline! Rosette! You're here!". She scooped up the mice in her hands, and it seemed that the mice were equally glad to see Tracy as well. The group had small smiles on their faces, the little heartwarming reunion very much a sight to see. The daughter of Cinderella and Asce turned to all of them and introduced them to her animal friends. The one with the red and orange clothing was Jaq, and the female mouse in blue was his wife/mate Deline. The one wearing the green shirt and hat was called Gus, and by his side was his wife/mate Rosette. Fairy Godmother Cateline explained that when they got wind of what was going on, they insisted that they come along to help. The children were left behind with their friends and family members, so they were okay as well.

Jaq looked to Tracy and said, "Tracy, all us work together to help save Cinderellie! You can count on us!". The princess giggled and thanked the brave mice for their courage in coming. Mainard stated that they would good additions, that their small size could allow them into places they could not get to and perhaps find some useful stuff along the way. The two male mice puffed up with pride, knowing that while a little old, they were still able to do important tasks on adventures. Tracy set them down on the table, the four civilized rodents going to the Twin Fairies. They had never seen tiny humans before, and were a bit curious about them.

Minos inquired, "Okay now, anything else before we start preparations?".

The mystical twins, after talking with Jaq and the others, stated that they were going to try and speed up Mothra's transformation. Both said at the same time, "We will stay here and pray, calling to Mothra and hope that the transformation to her adult form would be hastened.". Oliver then got an idea, saying that before it was time to go, they should all pray to the higher ups for assistance in this endeavor. He stated that this strike was for keeps, no retreating and no back-up, and therefore they all would need the help of the Heavens in order for this attack to work in their favor. While it was true that some of them had their own religious practices, they all respected one another and now was not the time for such quarrels. All nodded, and with that, the meeting was adjourned. It was at this precise moment that Fauna came in, apparently she was successful in returning Sebastian to the ocean and not being seen or caught by the enemy.

The green-clad fairy looked at everyone and asked, "Hello again! What did I miss while I was gone?".

~At Maleficent's dungeon~

It was dark and dank for the royal couples, all of them getting a bit of a reprieve from the torments and evil teasing of their jailors and the other demonic soldiers that came down to make sure they had a very unpleasant night. Ariel sighed softly, looking down at the sleeping form of her husband Eric. She whispered, "I'm glad you are here with me at least, Eric. I really hope that Grimsby, Carlotta and Louie are doing better than us…". When the three servants had been taken with them, Maleficent had seen them merely as extra workers to be tested to the limit. She really did enjoy seeing other people suffer, and it showed in the tasks that she had the three do. Grimsby was forced to be servant to the three Generals; Shadowsneak, Springy and Tightfist. The elder gentleman was now forced to serve the very ones that tried to destroy his real master and mistress, and that was a bitter irony pill for the manservant to swallow. However, the three generals thought it was excellent that the servant of Eric was now their slave. Poor Grimsby had to clean up after them, and it was something that he would not wish on any of his previous enemies.

Carlotta was forced to clean up the soldier's quarters, and since they consisted of half-human, half-animal demonic features… the poor lady would be having nightmares for some time. Louie was no exception, as he had to COOK for the soldiers and these hordes had the most unusual of tastes. The French chef's patience and tolerance were pushed to the very brink on day one, as he had to create some slop and food that he knew that not even the most depraved and crazy of mortal men would even touch even if they were dying from starvation. He got into fights with the normal cooks, who looked to be half-human, half-raven beings that gave the mortal man a hard time. Needless to say, the three servants were a little bit well off then the royals, but that was stretching it very much.

Eric groaned, the sound causing Ariel to look down at him more closely. He coughed to get some fresh air back in his lungs, and his wife helped him to sit up at least. The king opened his eyes, and the sight of seeing his beautiful wife was a welcome one. He shook his head to clear it, grabbing it with his left hand. He groaned out, "Ariel… this is getting to be a bit much… don't know how much… longer I can take their… sessions.". His body was wracked with pain, and it showed with each little movement he made with his body. His wife helped him as best she could to steady him, and she whispered on why Maleficent hasn't done anything yet as of late.

Eric answered her question, "I believe she's having trouble with her forces, and I think I heard one of the soldiers say that she was thinking of ways to move the castle.". This puzzled the former mermaid, as she knew that castles were firmly situated on the ground, thus could not be moved. Even if she used magic, it would take an incredible amount of it to make the castle float, much less fly. And Ariel assumed that Maleficent's magic must be at their limit, considering all she had done so far like transforming the three Monster bandits into her Generals and also controlling the titan monsters that came from another universe. Eric commented that this must mean something, that there was a flaw in Maleficent's plans and they had to figure it out quickly.

Ariel nodded, agreeing with her life mate and then felt something stir in her heart. She held her hands to her chest, feeling her heart beating faster. Eric noticed this and inquired, "Ariel, what is wrong? What is wrong with your heart?".

She looked at him, and a small smile formed on her face. It was one of hope, something that she had not done for a while since their imprisonment. She replied softly, "Nothing's wrong with my heart, dear. I just feel… I just feel that the kids are alright, all of them. And I have a feeling… that we'll meet them soon. But under good circumstances, not bad.". Little did she know that the same feeling was coursing through the beating hearts of the other mothers, and they knew that this feeling was much more then they let on. It was a connection, a strong bond between their loved ones, similar to the bond the children had with the monsters. They felt and knew that their flesh and blood had gained some strength inside, and they were feeling it now!

~At the sea~

Sebastian was swimming as fast as he could in the ocean, very glad to be back in his natural environment after so many days on land. "Ahhh… it's good to get the old claws and shell wet again, mon!" he stated to himself as he continued to swim, heading in the direction of Atlantica. The small crab was swimming along until he saw something moving to his right… something massive! He gulped and saw that in the distance was the large shadow of Ebriah, the giant lobster monster! He let out a small 'eep' and started to swim like crazy! He found a pile of rocks on the bottom of the sea floor and hid behind them, peering out to see if Ebriah spotted him. He was in luck, because the lobster was merely moving about. The massive beast was looking for merfolk like his mistress ordered, and even if he saw Sebastian, he would pay the crab no mind. Sebastian was so small, and this was to human eyes. To a monster like Ebriah, he was more or less like a little flea would be on an extremely large dog. When the musical genius of Atlantica saw the gigantic sea creature leave, he let out a sigh of relief and continued on towards his destination.

"Whew… dat was close! I tell ya, sometimes I tink I should retire and just go back to Jamaica…" he muttered to himself as he continued onward. It took him some time to reach his destination, but when he saw Atlantica… his jaw was open in disbelief as his eyes were wide on what he saw. His precious home, his kingdom was in ruins. The golden palace was reduced to rubble, what was once the shining beacon of light and power in the Atlantic seas was now nothing more than a pile of sea rocks. Homes were demolished, and coral reef homes were flattened like pancakes. Many treasured mementos and pictures either laid on the muddy ground, or floating gently in the water. There was no life anywhere as the crab slowly and mechanically swam towards the palace, looking this way and that at his beloved home where he had so many memories, be they good or bad. When he got to the palace, he saw various marks on the building. One looked to be slash marks, while others had section burned badly. Sebastian knew that Atlantica had been attacked, and the culprits were the monsters under her command.

"Dat scheming, no good… oh, if I ever see her, I'll give dat witch one for! Right in the kisser!" he exclaimed, doing a punching motion with his claw like a boxer would. He was so incensed that his home was now gone, he did not notice the shadow coming up behind him. When he finally noticed it, he turned around in fright, believing it to be an enemy. However, he soon sighed in relief and a smile was on his face. Standing before him now was King Triton! And beside him was Sonia, and it looked like the two were alive and well!

"Your Majesty! Sonia!" Sebastian exclaimed as he swam over and hugged his ruler before going over and hugging Sonia on her face. The two chuckled a little, glad to see that their little familiar friend was alive.

Sonia replied, "It's good to see you too, Sebastian! I'm glad you're alright.". Sebastian was glad for the first time in a long while, and the smile did not leave his face. He asked on how they were doing, and what happened. It is then that the smiles on the merfolk's faces fell and Triton was the one to answer.

He sat on a rock, which ironically was also his throne seat and answered, "Sebastian, I tried to defend the kingdom when those monsters came close to Atlantica. I used the full power of the trident to slow them down, to try and either force them away or to destroy them. I held them off for an hour or so, but they were too much. I was knocked unconscious by one of the beasts green tentacles. It would have been the end for me, but Sonia managed to find and save me from death. We hid in a small cave for some days, my friend healing me as best she could. When I was finally better, she helped me swim over to the kingdom. When we got here… Atlantica was already destroyed. Fortunately, no one was here when the beasts attacked, which is the only one piece of good news I have heard so far. The citizens fled to other areas of the kingdom, and are safe for now. And we have been here, waiting to see if some other merfolks would come back here.". Sonia stated that her family was safe, finding them in another kingdom shortly after returning her king to decent health.

"Sebastian, what is going on the surface? Is Ariel, Eric and Melody okay? What has happened?" the elderly mermaid asked.

Sebastian sighed, and had to relay to them on what had occurred for about a week. King Triton had a series of emotions play on his face as his musical composer told his tale; seriousness when he learned of the one who had masterminded the attacks on land and sea, Maleficent. Anger when he found out that she had perverted and warped the trident, his tool of peace and war. Shock and sadness when he heard the fate of his daughter Ariel and son-in-law Eric. And relief when he learned that Melody was safe and sound for now. The king sighed, slumping down a little as Sebastian finished his report on what had occurred for the past several days. Sonia was in the same state, very down that the surface kingdom was now in the hands of the evil witch and the fate of Ariel, but she was glad that Melody and the children were safe.

Triton rubbed his face with his right hand and said softly, "Sebastian, Sonia told me everything regarding the monsters… the ones Melody and the other humans have been trying to protect. It seems I owe them a debt for keeping Melody and the others safe.". Indeed, Sonia had told her ruler the entire story since his recovery, and while he was angry that he was misled by many people he trusted, he saw that he could not blame them. He knew that when it came to protecting someone, Melody would go to good lengths to do so, just like his daughter Ariel.

Sebastian had a look of determination on him as he stated, "I tink you can help them out. There is a reason I came back here, after all.". He then started to relay the plan to his leader, and Triton was wondering if his granddaughter had lost her senses. In his mind, her going out there willingly to danger was something he did not want to help out with. Sonia and Sebastian saw the look on his face, the familiar dark look, and knew they had to fix the situation before he refused.

Sonia went to her king and said, "Your Majesty, please consider this. Right now, from what Sebastian has told us, Melody and the kids are running out of time. It won't be long until they are discovered, and I believe that witch Maleficent will try something drastic that could put her and the other humans in danger. At this moment, they are going to take a huge risk in taking the fight to her, and it won't succeed if we don't help them. Please… you got to put faith and trust in your granddaughter's plan, and help her and the others out.". The king wanted to say something, anything that would make them drop this discussion. He did not want to put his granddaughter in danger, not now nor ever. However… he saw the logic here. There were running out of time, all of them, and if Maleficent made her move… it would be too late to stop her.

Sebastian looked at Sonia and asked, "Tink we should fight fire with fire? I mean, we know were Morgana is and if we…". However, the elderly mermaid shook her head and said that some time ago, they found Morgana… crushed to icy pieces, a very bad way to go. The crab was hoping to free the sea witch and somehow get her to work for them, but now that idea was crushed just like she was.

Triton looked to his composer and his healer/friend and stated, "I am against this idea, I really am. But… I can see that all of us are against the sea wall. I will do this Sebastian, but it is under protest since my granddaughter has to fight while I have to sit this out…". The two were glad to see that he was agreeing with the plan, but it was Sonia who went and gave him a suggestion. She suggested that during the time when they helped the others go to the base of the structure, he and other brave merfolk would go out and distract Ebriah. They would lead the monstrous lobster away from them, and increase the chances of Melody and her team to get into the fortress-palace of the witch undetected. The king thought it over, and said that the plan was good, and that he would make sure that he would do his part. When it came to protecting his family, Triton looked for any opportunity to do so.

Sebastian exclaimed, "Well den, let's go and get us some willing merpeople to help us! The clock be ticking here!". The two nodded, and Triton told them to split up. To go to the neighboring settlements that were untouched by the titanic creatures, round up as many brave and willing souls as possible, and bring them to Atlantica so they could all come together and go to the point that Sebastian told them about. With firm nods, the trio then scattered in different directions. It seemed that the machinations of the forces of good were about to go underway!

~Back at the grove~

It had been a few hours, and dawn was rising for the kingdom of Sennen, though it was a technicality since the land was still covered in darkness. However, it mattered not for everyone was preparing themselves for what may be the final strike against the forces of Maleficent and her evil might. The Good Fairies had managed to conjure up some strong swords and shields for Captain Dashboard and his troops, similar to the ones that they conjured up for Philip all those years ago when he fought Maleficent in her dragon form. The others sought to improvise with what they had. The Bingwen's had brought some of their cooking utensils with them when they fled with the others, believing that they would need them. Jiaying had taken out a large black wok, a traditional Chinese cooking utensil, which was different then the frying pan that most people in Europe used. The little ones found some decent-sized tree trunks from around the grove that they would use as clubs and such. The adults who were not soldiers chose to also use tree trunks as clubs and such.

But right now, all of them were doing their own form of prayers to the higher ones above. Oliver and his family were praying to not only God, but their ancestors above for help and guidance. The African family had adopted the Christian way of prayer, but also kept the traditional African way of calling to their ancestors for guidance and strength. After their prayers were said, Karl gave to his son a spear tip. It was made out of ivory, the father stating that this was made out of elephant ivory. It had been in his family for years, the spear tip carved after witnessing an old elephant die from old age and his ancestors taking a little bit of the tusk to make the spear tip. He told Oliver/Olujimi this, "This spear tip represents strength, courage and a drive to keep on moving no matter what. It has been passed down from generation to generation, and I have kept it ever since me and your mother fled our native homeland years ago. It is a rite of passage… to show that you are no longer considered a boy, but a man. And I feel that you have earned the right to use it.". The African lad looked at the white spear tip with reverence, feeling that his ancestral homeland inside the tool and it was ready to aid him in defending his new home. He hugged his father for the gift, and for the vote of confidence. He hugged his mother too, saying that he would do what he could to make sure that this mission would not end in failure.

He made a wedge in his staff, the one he always carried at all times even during the evacuation with the others, and inserted the ivory tip in it. He was now looking like a warrior from his native home of Africa, even though he wore clothing of European manufacture. A blending of two worlds, in a way!

With Hadrian and his family, plus Minos and Fatima nearby, they were looking in the direction of east, where the sun was rising. According to their custom, it was necessary to face the direction where the land of Mecca was at. Their form of prayer was different, and frowned upon very much in most of Europe. However, Sennen and its citizens had a religious tolerance policy and since this did not disturb the peace in anyway, the other factions just let it be. After the required prayer practices were kept, Hadrian/Hazael was given a gift by his father Nasser. He handed to the lad a small, but sharp curved scimitar. It looked like a small version of what the adults used in combat, and the hilt was made of gold with inlaid jewels in it. On the blade itself was the word family on one side, and on the other was the word honor, both written in the Arabian script. Nasser stated, "My son, you have grown into a fine young man. And I believe you are worthy to have this heirloom of my family, a sword that has been with us for generations. It has been used and passed down to family, to protect family. Now, you must use it to protect the family you have become part of. And I am not talking just family through blood.". What he stated was true, for Hadrian saw that he had friends he considered family. For Dianne… it was another story altogether for good reasons, but he WOULD defend her and the others with his life.

Hadrian hugged his father and mother, saying that he would do them proud. He put his small dagger at his right hip, and carried his new weapon with pride. He looked the a certain Arabic hero that hailed from Agrabah, only possessing not only a sword… but a passion and drive to protect his friends and family! Minos and Fatima smiled as they saw the boy become a man, ready to battle and defend the place and people he had come to know and love. The two were also ready to fight, to help their newfound friends reclaim what was rightfully theirs!

The Bingwen's were kneeling and praying towards six sticks that were lit at the tip, the embers on each tip slowly burning and the smoke rising to the heavens. The elderly couple were praying to their ancestors in the afterlife, asking them to lend them strength, courage and cunning. Though old, the two knew how to defend themselves. Before leaving their homeland of China, Boqin had once been a soldier in the Chinese army. He learned the art of self-defense, martial arts, from his superiors and taught them to his wife in secret. Jiaying had taken to it greatly, wanting to be like the legendary heroine told in stories, Fa Mulan. Boqin had been dismissed from the Imperial Army due to an injury that had taken years to fully heal from, and the times in China were getting rough for them, so they left the country and settled in England. The two looked at each other, knowing full well that this could be their last time here on this plane of existence together. Jiaying said to her husband, "I'm glad that if we are to go… we go together.". It was a simple sentence, but one that held so much love and conviction in it, it was just something to hear and respect. Boqin and her embraced, holding each other tightly for some time before letting go and rising up.

The two elderly people would show the forces of evil the true power of the ancient Chinese martial arts!

The rest were with one another in a large group, all of them praying to God and Jesus to be with them on this day. For all of them, there was no turning back now. It was either a victory against the forces of evil, or defeat that would spell disaster. Either way, they were going to fight and they wanted the King of Kings on their side, to be with them and guide them where they needed to be in order for victory to be achieved! After praying, Melody rose up first. She looked towards the sky, in the direction the fortress-palace was at, and whispered to her parents to hold on just a little longer. Shortly after Melody rose up, so did Tracy. The two then looked to where Godzilla was at, the King of the Monsters waiting for them at the entrance/exit along with the other monsters. The saurian saw determination and conviction in the eyes of his bonded, and he knew that the human children were ready to go out into battle! The two princesses were nervous to be sure, but they fought the fear and doubts down strongly and went over to the monsters.

Mainard rose up after them, softly asking the angels above to look out over his parents. In his hand was the clasp that Rosalie gave him, and he clutched it tight before putting it in his pocket. He turned and walked over to his bonded, Anguirus seeing that his companion was determined to go into danger, and that stirred a strong feeling of pride within his being.

Edgard and Dianne rose up at the same time, both letting out a soft sigh. The two had prayed that their parents were alive and safe, and to ask for guidance on this dangerous strike of theirs. The siblings held hands, showing their support for one another as family. Edgard would always protect his sister, and it would be true here. Dianne would support her brother in anything, and this was no different. They soon parted their hands and went over to Rodan, the giant pteranodon seeing the bonds of family love strong between the two. He also saw the strength and determination in their eyes, and the beast was glad to see that his bonded were willing and ready to go into danger!

Kathrin rose up last, the beauty taking a deep breath as she watched her friends go towards their monster companions. She was asking Jesus to look over her friends as they went on their mission, to keep them safe and that they would find the adults alive and well. She really wanted to be part of the mission, but she knew her limitations and realized that she would just get in the way. She also felt that she needed to be here, with the Twin Fairies to make sure that Mothra would be okay during her vulnerable state. She looked over and saw said mystical twins near Mothra's cocoon, along with the other magical beings. Once there, she picked up the tiny women and held them in her hands as she turned around to face where the others were at.

Captain Dashboard, his soldiers plus wife and son, also rose up. The middle-aged soldier of high rank looked to his men, seeing that even though they were very few in number, were ready to battle down to their last breath! Minnie stood up, a large tree club lying by her side. William stood up, a sword and shield also on the ground by his side. Jackson was a little reluctant to have his son handle weapons, especially on what happened last time when he deserted. However, the father saw that there was little choice in the matter and was now giving his son a final chance to redeem himself. The teenager said that this time, he would not disobey him. In truth, Will had little choice as well. There was nowhere else to go, and also there was the fact that Maleficent's forces would most likely take no prisoners. He was forced to be in battle this time, and he knew that this was for keeps on all kinds of levels. Regina, Carlitos, Sarah, Joshua, and David rose up along with their parents, the little ones finishing their prayers and hoping for the best. Once everyone was up, they went to where the magical beings and Kathrin was at.

Once all was said and done, everyone was now split into two groups. Over near the cocooned form of Mothra was the Three Good Fairies, Fairy Godmother Cateline, Rosalie the Enchantress, the civilian families, the soldiers, Captain Dashboard and his family, the Bingwens, Kathrin and the Twin Fairies Moll and Lora. Near the entrance/exit of the grove were Godzilla, Rodan and Anguirus, along with their bonded. Next was Minos and Fatima, and with them were the Seven Dwarves. The seven miners had already been coated with Rosalie's bubble spell, looking like they had a second skin on but it was a silver substance like a real bubble. In their hands were pick axes, the Good Fairies using magic to create them out of thin air. Merryweather stated that these pick axes would be able to dig through any kind of material, and the dwarves saw that it the tools looked to be of excellent quality. Of course, Grumpy was a little miffed that they were not using their own tools, but everyone just ignored him. Dopey really wanted to test his new tool out, but Doc was able to stop him before he could hurt someone. In Tracy's pockets were her mouse friends; Jaq and Deline in the left pocket, Gus and Rosette in the right.

Melody inquired, "Alright, so everyone knows their part to play in all of this, right?". Everyone nodded their heads, saying that all knew the part they had to play. In her hands was the map that Jackson made, more detailed out this time that would help them out.

The Twin Fairies stated, "We wish you all the best of luck. We will do our best here. We only hope that Mothra will be able to join you soon once her transformation is complete.". The royals were hoping for that too, for they knew that they would need all the help they would get soon. The two groups waved goodbye to one another, saying their farewells and good lucks to one another before the first team left. However, Melody looked to the second group and asked them to look after their knapsacks, saying that they had something really important in them and to take care of it. After saying that, she ran to catch up with Godzilla and Tracy.

Once they were all out of sight, the little ones were wondering on what she meant by that. Sarah went over and grabbed the knapsacks that the royals left behind, Kathrin keeping her own close to her. Once she brought them over, she opened them and saw that inside were the drawings the royal pre-teens made some time ago. The humans and magical folk were impressed on the details of the drawings, and the fairies indeed saw that the children had a deep connection with the monsters. Cateline stated, "I will say this about the children. They are good judges of character, and I am glad that they bonded with these creatures from another place.". The others agreed, looking at each drawing, Kathrin taking hers out for all to see as well. They all hoped that the group would be able to pull off this miracle… to make the final strike against Maleficent and her evil magic!

(Author's Notes: And… cut! That is it for this chapter! How did you like it? I suddenly remembered some important things I forgot last chapter, like the fate of the three servants and also the mice from Cinderella, so I believed it was important to show them here. Please forgive me for my little slip-ups.

In any case, what do you think? I also hoped I got some of the religious practices right, especially the ones concerning Hadrian and the others. I am a Christian, and I believe in tolerance and such, and even though I did a little research into the practice, I can only hope I did it right and not offend anybody.

Here are the questions: Which team would you be on, and why? Do you think Triton and the others can find some brave merfolk to help out with this plan? And finally, what would you do if you were in Grimsby's, Carlotta's, or Louis's shoes? I really hope to get more reviews this time, long ones too! I just really want to see them, to see people enjoying my story and telling me so via reviews.

R&R, no flames, enjoy and leave long reviews!)
