Monsters and Magic

By: DJ Rodriguez

(Author's Notes: Hey everyone! How are you all doing? Got a couple of good long reviews, and that really makes my day! I hope that you all have enjoyed this novel of mine, and I'm still surprised that I have gone on long with it. Oh well… never question it, just roll with it!

In this chapter, Godzilla and co. face off against Demona and the Gargoyles! Just so you know, it's just Demona that is recognizable. The rest of the gargoyles here are like copies of the suit that Xantos wore in the Gargoyles cartoon series, their skin silver while wearing red garments that Goliath usually wears. However, Demon's eyes can switch from solid red to normal ones while the rest of the gargoyles will always have solid yellow eyes.

I will honor and respect Goliath and the other heroic gargoyles, keeping them as heroes as they are in their own series. Also, Max in his new form will lend another helping paw to the heroes/heroines in the grove, and it will be a shocker! And finally, you will see Sebastian and the mice, plus a surprising figure come in to lend a hand! You will see the power of the little guys and girls in this chapter!

One more thing. I myself was surprised when I learned completely about Erica's origin and connection to Biolantte and Godzilla. I have seen the movie Godzilla vs. Biolantte many times, but never saw or figured out completely how Erica was bonded to Biolantte.

I do not own Godzilla nor any of the Toho creations, and I do not own any of the Disney characters in either movie or TV series. I do own my own original characters, and most of the songs here. Any song I use here that is by another artist, I will give him or her their due and credit.

Now, on with the fanfic!)

Chapter 28

It was chaos all over the palace-fortress of Maleficent, but even more so in a certain location that was now the battleground between the forces of Good that consisted of Godzilla and his human allies against the forces of Evil that comprised of gargoyles that Maleficent created and brought to life! The saurian had seen his share of flying creatures back in his universe, but these creatures were new to him and so he started off strong with claw slashes and bite attacks. However, the gargoyles showed that they both had size and speed, for the silver and red males evaded his slashes and bite attacks. The winged creatures retaliated by digging their own claws and talons into the King of the Monsters, but Godzilla showed that his skin was more resilient then it looked. His hide was tough and thick, and also his healing ability was kicking in as the puncture wounds he received were quickly taken care of by his regeneration. Godzilla grabbed one of the gargoyles as it tried to gain some altitude with its wings, and squeezed it tightly with his right claw! What surprised the saurian was that this creature did not screech or scream when it was squeezed, not even a sound of pain. Instead, what it heard was a cracking sound like stone, and when he released it… Godzilla saw that stone cracks and chippings were on the gargoyle! It seemed that even though they looked to be of flesh and blood, they were still just stone statues. Godzilla roared before tossing the injured/broken gargoyle away, throwing the flying creature into a wall hard where it collapsed and turned into a pile of rubble.

Demona saw this and a little smirk appeared in her face. Unlike the rest of her animated kin, she had emotions and could feel pain and such. She saw and felt Godzilla's rage, his fighting spirit and was a bit impressed. She said to herself softly, "Such a magnificent creature! Such primal and potent power he possess! Too bad he has decided to cast his lot with the humans, and not towards my Mistress. I want to see what these humans, and the two beasts are capable of before I make my move officially.". So she hovered in place, looking at the scene for now instead of participating in it.

Down below, the others saw what Godzilla did and that, indeed this made the difference. While the adults would love to keep their children from seeing such graphic actions, they were relieved a little to see that when destroyed, there was no blood or sounds of pain of any kind when the gargoyles were destroyed. Eric exclaimed, "Come on, everyone! Don't hold back! These gargoyles aren't truly alive! They're just animated statues!". Beast roared in fury as he charged in, delivering some heavy blows to one male gargoyle before engaging in a test of strength against one of them. The kings and queens, with the pre-teens, ran to other places of the room while the gargoyles flew around to try and pick them off like prey. However, there is a difference between fleeing and moving around to bring something or someone into a certain favorable position. Since the room was large enough, and filled with some places to either hide or ambush, the adults used that to their advantage as best they could.

"These gargoyles… they look intelligent. Let's put that to the test." Ariel whispered to her fellow queens before they all took off in many directions, the Marcel woman allowing one of the red and silver beasts to see her. The animated creature did not make a sound as it swooped in, his arms extended and claws out to try and grab the redheaded beauty. However, Ariel said a small prayer and stopped suddenly, ducking in time as the gargoyle flew over and past her! Aurora quickly appeared, showing up around a pillar and smacking the surprised beast with the morningstar she had acquired earlier during the battle against the demonic horde in the dungeons. Stone face met spiked metal ball, and the metal ball won out! Aurora did not need much strength as one would think, just enough to hold the weapon in place while the momentum of the flying gargoyle did the rest! The animated statue kept right on going, even with its face now gone, and slammed right into the wall! It soon crumbled to dust, which was a victory for the humans.

"Yes! Yes, that did it! Two down, ten to do!" Tracy exclaimed, very much glad that they took down one of these winged nightmares. Her celebration was short-lived when she was ambushed by one of the red and silver gargoyles, the massive creature pinning her to the ground with his body and raising his clawed hands to deliver a final blow! Tracy screamed in fright, and that is when her crush Mainard came on the scene! The pre-teen prince had seen the winged behemoth pin the daughter of Cinderella down, and he was not going to stand for it!

"LET HER GO, UGLY! NOW!" he exclaimed before instincts took over, protective ones that surprised even him but he pushed it out of his mind for now. Right now, there was a lady to be saved, especially one he started to care for very much. He jumped onto the gargoyle's back, and with a shield he had gotten from one of the demon soldiers from earlier, he started to bash the head of the beast! The massive enemy shrugged its right elbow hard to try and deliver a blow to the human boy to get him off it, but Mainard used his shield to barely deflect the blow. The shield got a large dent in it, but Mainard just resumed pounding away. The animated brute was getting rather annoyed by this small human boy's constant banging on its head with the shield, and started to shake wildly like a wet dog to try and get the pre-teen prince off of its person.

King Asce and Beast saw what was happening, and their paternal instincts kicked in! With Léandre in his animalistic form, his instincts had increased ten-fold! With his newfound strength, he roared loudly before ripping the arms off of the gargoyle he was engaged with in a test of strength. The arms that Beast was holding transformed back to rock, and the enraged king tore right through the animated statue before going to the one his son was having problems with. Asce was nearby and more quick at the moment then Belle's husband, and took action right away. With a double-edge sword that he had liberated from a demon soldier from the dungeon area, he took aim and swung with all his might at the arm that held down Tracy. Thankfully, the sword was thick enough to cut through the right appendage, and as soon as it was severed, the arm turned back to rock.

"Tracy, take my hand!" Asce exclaimed, the gargoyle that had her pinned down a bit stunned and slightly off balance due to the loss of its arm. The princess quickly took her father's arm, and the king pulled her out of their quickly before taking her a safe distance from the creature. Using his sword, he gently and expertly stabbed the tip through the rock fingers of the claw hand so that it crumbled to pebbles, thus freeing Tracy from its grasp.

Meanwhile, Beast was already upon the winged behemoth and pounced! He was high in the air, his feet and claws aimed downward to deliver a crushing press blow to the gargoyle. Mainard looked up in time to see his father descending down fast, and so he made a quick decision. He yelled to the animated fiend, "This is where I get off! Bye!". He then rolled off the back of Maleficent's creation and just in time, for his father came down hard like a ton of bricks! The impact of his pounce crushed the gargoyle completely, the body not moving and reverting back to its statue form. Its body was covered with various cracks, signaling that it had taken some significant damage before turning back to rock form. Beast looked at the down form of his foe, and turned to glare a little at his son. Mainard was a little more then intimidated at the moment, and no one could blame him. Having a creature like Beast glaring down at you would unnerve most people. The transformed king stated that it was reckless of him to try and take on such a large and ferocious creature like that, but… he added in that he was proud of him to save his friend like that.

Mainard smiled and replied, "For Tracy, I would do anything to keep her safe!". Said princess and daughter of Cinderella and Asce Charming heard that, and she felt her cheeks blossom red a little while her heart skipped a little. It seemed that romance could bloom even in the most unusual of circumstances. Beast grinned at his boy, then his grin turned feral as he looked at the remaining nine gargoyles.

"Come on, son! We still got work to do!" Beast exclaimed before roaring, rushing once again into battle! Mainard joined him, the two Célestin men ready to fight!

Philip and Florian were having some trouble with their own gargoyles, the winged animated creations showing that they were as fierce and strong as Beast was! Their shields were taking a beating, and also their swords did little to cut through the thick hides of the winged monsters. "Florian! We need to come up with something quick!" Philip exclaimed before deflecting another crushing blow from his adversary. The two knew it would not be long until their shields were of no use to them. Florian replied that he was open to suggestions… but help came in the form of their wives plus Oliver! Snow White and Aurora got close to the action, a prospect that their husbands did not like and were very vocal about it. The women paid little heed to their husband's calls to get away from the dangerous action that was going on, but the two queens were a little bit stubborn at the moment.

Snow White called out, "Hey, you big meanies! How about you try and get us?!"

Aurora finished it up by saying, "Or are the big, bad gargoyles scared of women?".

That got the reaction they were looking for as the two large animated creatures leveled their glare at the royal women, showing that they had changed their targets from Philip and Florian to their wives. They spread their wings and took off towards the two queens, who stood steadfast though both showed they were more then a little nervous. The winged creatures stretched out their arms, showing they were planning to grab them in a swooping dive. Florian and Philip told Snow White and Aurora to get out of the way, but the two remained firm. When the gargoyles got close enough to them, the two of them exclaimed at the same time, "OLIVER, NOW!". Said black pre-teen, son of a blacksmith, was high above in the rocky ceiling! It appears that he went up there to get a better look at the action and to see on what to do from there. When the princesses saw him up there earlier, the three hatched a plan silently and were now putting said plan into play.

"And… here we go!" Oliver exclaimed before he used his staff on two long, sharp stalactites that were hanging directly over the spot where the two gargoyles were going to be at. He used the pointed spear tip to stab at the hanging rock, and it penetrated with enough force to form a crack that quickly spread and the sharp rock was dislodged from the ceiling! One dropped down towards the winged beast, and Oliver repeated the process to the other stalactite that it quickly followed after the first. The gargoyles heard the voice of Oliver, and stopped to gaze upward at the ceiling. That proved to be a fatal mistake, as the one that was near Snow White was soon impaled by a sturdy piece of rock! Thankfully, the queen was spared from seeing a blood scene since said creature reverted back to rock form as soon as the sharp, pointed rock speared right through it.

The other one was a little more quick then his counterpart, and dodged at the last moment. Though the falling rock did miss him, he turned to see Philip's sword pierce right through its skull! The two kings had regained their bearings and were charging forward to help as soon as one of the gargoyles was destroyed. Though the sword was now stabbed deep into the animated monster's skull, it was still standing and moving. It made to grab Philip, but Florian came in fast and cut off the left arm that was set to grab at his friend. Aurora and Snow White delivered a double shield-bash with their own weapons on the chest, and Oliver finished it off by jumping down with a yell and aiming his spear right down the middle of the red and silver gargoyle's skull! The impact of both the spear, and also of the African pre-teen hero landing on the shoulders of the brute, caused the beast to crumble into pebbles. Oliver lifted up his staff and looked to the royal couples, Snow White by Florian's side while Aurora went to Philip.

"Now that is what I call teamwork! Good job, your Highness! I can see why you chose one another!" he stated before going back to battle. The four royal adults smiled, glad to see that another knew what it truly meant to choose and stay with one another. The kings looked to their significant others, who nodded and all four went back out to battle! Seven more gargoyles to go!

Melody, Dianne, and Edgard were running from one of the flying brutes. They zigged and zagged every which way, but the yellow-eyed creature was on them like a hawk locked onto its prey! Melody groaned out, "This living statue is starting to get on my nerves! We need to shake it off! If any of you have any ideas, I'm open to suggestions!". The fraternal twins of Aurora and Philip answered that they were out of ideas at the moment, and all that they needed to do was keep out of the reach of the red and silver fiend that was chasing them. Said gargoyle was getting closer, his clawed hands stretched out to grab onto Melody. It would have gotten her… had not something appeared from the shadows and embedded into its chest! The stunned beast fell down to the ground due to the impact, and stood up on its legs, looking down to see on what caused it to fall. Melody, Dianne and Edgard stopped and turned as well to see that the one who stopped the winged fiend was… Dopey?! The youngest dwarf was struggling to get his pick axe out of the chest of the creature, a comical sight since the youngest of the seven dwarves was not the strong as his comrades.

"Dopey?!" was the confused call of the pre-teen trio, apparently completely surprised to see the funny miner with them. Dopey did travel with his comrades down the path Doc chose at first, but he quickly decided that it would be safer to be with Godzilla since he was the strongest out of the other monsters. That, and also he believed that there was strength in both numbers and size, so he backtracked quickly without his friends knowing about it and followed the King of the Monsters and the humans to this place. Now, Dopey was looking quite funny as he made several expressions on his face to try and get the pick axe out of the gargoyle. He heard a grunt, and he started to sweat profusely as he slowly looked up into the yellow eyes of an irate animated statue. He gulped and slowly climbed down the gargantuan winged beast, gave it a weak if humorous smile before turning and making a break for it. The gargoyle took the pick axe out of its silver-colored chest and chased after the one that harmed it! Dopey showed that while he did not have the physical upper body strength of his fellow dwarves, he sure had the speed as he was now running like a frightened rabbit away from Maleficent's creation.

Edgard looked around and spotted the pick axe that the beast left on the ground after plucking it off its chest. He looked to his sister and Melody and exclaimed, "I got an idea! Come on, follow my lead!". He picked up the gleaming tool and chased after the gargoyle who was on Dopey like a bird of prey! The dwarf was slowing down slightly, but he was still quick enough to keep ahead of the beast that wanted to tear him up limb from limb. He looked ahead and turned around a pillar, hoping that the gargoyle did not corner well. Alas, the animated flier did corner well as he rounded the pillar in a tight formation. However, it seemed that was what Edgard was looking for as the pre-teen prince leapt over a surprised Dopey and swung the pick axe with all his might! Luck seemed to be on his side as the tool dug into the same place where it was in before, when Dopey first struck the creature! Edgard noticed that the pick axe was in a little deeper, thus creating more cracks and fracture lines in the chest of the gargoyle. Unfortunately, said beast quickly batted the pre-teen to the side and the young man landed on his back hard from the fall.

"Ouch… that is going to leave a bruise in the morning… Melody, Sis! Aim for the chest! The place where Dopey started!" he exclaimed as he rose up from the painful fall. The two princesses turned around to see that the gargoyle was standing still, its gaze shifting from Edgard to them. Melody aimed as best she could, whispering a silent prayer to God to aid her with her aim. She threw as hard as she could a small dagger she acquired from the dungeons earlier, and the weapon twirled through the air like a wheel until the blade struck home at the center of the cracked chest area of the beast! The fractures grew more after the impact, and Dianne saw that this was her chance as well! She threw a mace that she too acquired in the dungeon area with all her might, also sending a prayer to the High One above that her aim strike true! The weapon spun through the air clumsily, since it was a spiked ball connected via chain to a small stick. Still, it seemed her prayers were answered when the metal ball connected and a hole formed on the animated statue! The gargoyle's yellow eyes dimmed down for a moment before going off completely, and the statue crumbling to pebbles.

The girls and Edgard whooped in joy, exclaiming "HOORAY! That did it!". Dopey celebrated with them, the youngest dwarf giving a high-five to the prince and joyful handshakes to the princesses. The humans congratulated Dopey for being so brave, and the funny miner puffed up his chest with pride. It seemed he was taking the compliments pretty well.

Nearby, Sebastian and his new mice friends looked at the action from the safety of their hiding place in the wall. The crab stated, "I tell you now, mon. I bet my whole shell dat Triton would be either proud, or very upset to see his granddaughter just holding her own like she doing now!". Jaq, Deline, Gus and Rosette did not know who Triton was exactly, but they did understand that a grandparent would be either proud or upset that their grandchild was put in such action. The round mouse Gus then spotted something that was poking out from the pebbled pile that was once a gargoyle, the one that Melody and the others just defeated.

"Hey, hey! Look at that! That looks new!" he exclaimed as he pointed to the object. It was the amber-colored Life Stone, the very thing that Maleficent put into her creations so they could be brought to life. The color was out of place since the rest of the stones were charcoal-gray. Rosette felt that something was off, wondering why such a stone would be there while the rest of the stones were of a different color. Jaq, the mouse who used his head more often than others, was also a bit puzzled on why this was. Sebastian was about to comment that though it was out of the ordinary, it probably did not mean much when they heard the roar of their friend/ally Godzilla and peeked out to see what was going on.

The saurian was roaring as he continued to demolish any and all of the remaining animated statues, his fighting spirit pumping as he was once again back in his element… battle! Though, he was a bit mindful to the humans that were fighting near him. He spun and swatted two of the flying fiends out of the air with his tail, the force and sheer strength of the attack turning the fearsome foes into a collection of rock rubble! Though, Beast and Hadrian had to duck in order to avoid said appendage. The King of the Monsters then swatted one of the flying creatures away with a left claw swipe, sending the injured brute down towards the Arabian pre-teen who cut off its head quickly with his scimitar. The gargoyle flew off course after it head was removed, crashing into the stone pillar and turning into rubble. Godzilla then grabbed one of the evil fiends inside his jaws and clamped down tight, snapping the stone behemoth in half! The saurian looked to see the second to last one coming at his face, clawed hands out to deliver swiping attacks at his face. However, the King of the Monsters had other plans as he brought his hands together in a clapping motion. He smashed the gargoyle, the upper part of it, and the bottom half fell and crumbled to dust. The massive green-skinned monster from another universe roared in victory, then turned his attention to the final foe… Demona.

The female gargoyle clapped her hands lightly, surprising most of the humans and Beast because they had forgotten about her when fighting her comrades. Godzilla snarled, his fighting spirit still up and ready for more. He sensed that this creature was different from the others in more ways then one, and the humans plus Beast also came to the same conclusion. Demon ceased her clapping as she lightly floated to the ground, a vicious smirk on her face. She stated, "I congratulate you for defeating my fellow gargoyles, humans and monsters. I must admit, I thought that the princes and princesses plus the two pre-teen fools would be easy pickings. It seems I underestimated you all.". The heroes and heroines growled, especially Oliver and Hadrian due to the female gargoyle calling them fools. However, Demona stood her ground and her smirk grew slightly as though she knew something… something that made the others a bit nervous. But not Godzilla, he growled and was ready to unleash his fury on this winged female creature!

Demona then said, "However… it seems you underestimate my mistress, Maleficent. Do you really think that she just create us without any kind of special properties?". Immediately after saying that, they all something move behind them. Melody and her friends turned to see that the gargoyle they defeated earlier was reassembling themselves, turning back from a pile of pebbles to their original forms! Any kind of damage they suffered was repaired almost instantly, and their eyes flashed yellow, signaling to the heroes and heroines that they were alive again! Godzilla roared at the return of his adversary, very much annoyed to see these pests coming back to life. Demona laughed loudly as she saw the shocked faces of the princes, princesses, kings, queens, Beast and the two local pre-teen heroes. She took to the air, her eyes going from normal black to solid red color.

"We can regenerate without end, fools! Anytime you break or destroy us, we just keep coming back! We can keep this up all day… but you can't!" she exclaimed before with a screech, she flew towards Godzilla with two male gargoyles by her side. The rest swooped down to get the rest of the stunned group. Demona's cry actually pulled them out of their stupor, and they all scattered once again! It seemed that things were back to square one… or perhaps not.

~Back at the grove~

While the main force were dealing with their problem, the others back in the woods were dealing with their own grim situation. All were exhausted after their battle with the demonic horde that Maleficent's generals sent out, and now upon learning that an even greater force was coming out to meet them… the morale of everyone in the grove was low. However, none was idle. Kathrin and the Twin Fairies were tending to the exhausted and tired Three Good Fairies, doing what they could to make them comfortable and cool as the air around them was quite humid. The parents were tending to their children, while the soldiers were being cared for by Fairy Godmother Cateline and Enchantress Rosalie. Jackson Dashboard was with his family, or more specifically his wife Minnie as they looked over one another to make sure nothing was completely out of place or badly hurt. Their son William was pacing back and forth nervously, anxiety clearly written on his face as he was absorbing the severity of the situation. He looked to his folks and stated, "Mother, Father! We need to flee, now! If that army is coming back for reinforcements, we don't stand a chance!". The people saw that he was afraid, and for good reason. All of them were quite nervous now, but most were taking it more well then he was.

Jackson sighed as he looked at his son, not blaming him for being afraid but very sad that he lacked the brainpower to figure things out completely. He answered, "Where can we run to, son? Already, most of the surrounding area is now a wasteland. It is by the power of our friends the Twin Fairies that this place remained hidden and untouched for so long. The whole landscape beyond this grove is poisoned, the life sucked out of it thanks to Maleficent's magic. If we fled, they would only catch up with us. We don't have any supplies to sustain any kind of long journey, and the fairies magic has been severely drained, as they stated earlier. So again William… where can we flee to? Hmmm?". The son of the captain of the Royal Guard was flustered now, his father's intellect coming forth and blasting any kind of comeback out of the water. What Jackson just stated was all true, so even if they could run away, it would be cut short either by starvation and/or lack of clean water… or by the sword of those vile demon soldiers. Either way, Will was just desperate to get away and needed some sort of outlet to vent his frustration.

"AHHHH! This is all hopeless! We can't run, and we can't fight! What can we do?!" he exclaimed, his fear slowly getting the better of him. He would have ranted on, and perhaps done something crazy and dangerous… if Boqin not calmly went to the young man, pinched a small nerve on the back of the teenager's neck, which caused Will to stop his ranting and drop to the ground. Minnie and Jackson were concerned, but let out a sigh of relief when they saw that their son was merely knocked out, a light snoring sound escaping from his mouth.

"I apologize for knocking him like that, sir Jackson. But, I believed that any more ranting from your son would be less helpful." Boqin said to the couple, Jackson accepting it and stating that it was probably for the best that Will be out at the moment. The elderly Chinese man bowed a little to the captain before returning to his wife.

Max, who was still in wolf form and lying next to Kathrin and the Twin Fairies, felt that something needed to be done. The English Sheepdog wondered a bit on his new form, and the abilities it held. He lifted his head and sniffed the air, and caught a scent that made him rise to his paws. Princess Kathrin looked to Max, who was walking away from her while still sniffing the air and the young lady inquired, "Max, was it? What do you smell, boy?". The large animal ignored the words of the human for now, for he was focusing on the scent that was drifting into his nose. The furry friend of Eric then hatched an idea, and believed that this could work. He then let out a loud howl, which surprised and stunned everyone as the large call echoed throughout the woods! Max let out another howl which sounded off everywhere, and to the humans it did sound a little ominous. Kathrin looked to Cateline, asking her on what Max was doing.

The Fairy Godmother answered, "I'm not sure… I believe he's trying to contact something. But what, I do not know.". After the third howl, Max was still and his ears perked up to get a response. A few minutes later, he got the response he was looking for… though, for the humans was a bit of a shocker. Coming through the brush was a pack of Gray wolves, but not just any pack… it was the same group that attacked the children, royal family, monsters and teenage boys some time ago on the beach at Sanctuary! Coming to Max was the alpha female and male, the two animals passing by the stunned humans. The children were held protectively by their parents, the proud animals paying their former victim little heed as they went to the transformed Max. The furry friend of the Marcel family stood tall, not wanting to show any kind of fear in his stance or smell. The alpha female and male of the pack went to Max and started to growl, with some yips in between here and there. Max replied back, growling back and making a yip or two. The entire lot was confused, but it was the Twin Fairies that came to the rescue.

Moll stated, "We can translate for you. We are fluent in many languages, be it human or animal.". The tiny women then translated what they heard so far; the wolf couple asked Max on why he summoned them, and the friendly furry beast answered that they needed their help. The wolves were dumbfounded, especially when they demanded why should help some humans. Max answered back quite strongly that it was to defend their land, asking how it has been for them since the strange invaders came. The alpha female answered begrudgingly that food was very scarce, water too and that their pack was luck to find this place some time ago. The Marcel family member then stated that they needed their help in order to drive off the invaders, that their strength and courage was needed. Max finished up by saying that together, they would all stand a better chance then going off separately. The alpha male did not like this still, saying that they should let the humans see to their fate while they left. Max growled, saying that even if they did leave, most likely they would be picked off and what would happen to their pack once that started. The two males were about to tear up into one another, but the female wolf told her mate to stop and the alpha did so reluctantly. The alpha female then said that they would help, since survival was much more important then pride.

The humans were very much stunned, then surprised and finally relieved to hear that the wolves would help them! The three animals howled, and the pack that was behind the two alphas howled in response! However, it seemed to attract some new attention, for coming through the woods were two bears! It was the same Eurasian Brown bears that was also present at Sanctuary, teaming with the wolves to try and get rid of the monsters and humans some days ago. All, even the wolves and Max, were a bit stunned by the appearance of these two large animals. The bears started to growl and grof at the wolves, and they responded in kind. Lora translated, "These two wish to join us as well. The female states that they too have been affected by the strange poison that is in the air, killing nature. They wish to help, to get rid of these beasts that are an affront to nature.". Now it seems that things were looking up for the humans and magical beings, in a wild way that none thought could be possible! Max was very glad that Fairy Godmother changed into a wolf, because now they had some help that was badly needed.

~Back at the Palace-Fortress~

While things were looking a little up for the heroes and heroines at the grove, things were looking quite bleak for the ones in Maleficent's abode. The fighting had resumed, only the tide was shifting for the villains/villainess. When Demona revealed the regeneration information, the gargoyles turned into even more deadly foes! When any body part of theirs was damaged or broken off, they would simply regenerate, the pieces coming back to reform and the winged beasts keeping up the pressure! Godzilla was now battling against Demona and her two wingman gargoyles, while the remaining nine animated statues were chasing the humans, and one young dwarf down below. The saurian roared in annoyance as it tried to swipe at the three winged creatures with his claws, but it seemed that with Demona leading them, they were more responsive and reactive then before. The deadly female beauty screeched as she slashed at the King of the Monsters, her strength a bit more impressive then the male gargoyles. She managed to damage the ten-foot tall monster, but it was superficial and his healing ability was kicking in to fix said damage. The creation of Maleficent growled and whispered, "This beast maybe tougher to take down… the others are engaged with the humans. So when they are done with them, we will band together to take down this impressive behemoth!". She continued her aerial assault, her comrades keeping up with her to see if they can at least wear down the King of the Monsters!

Down below, the humans were running out of options, weapons, and tactics. The gargoyles had started to learn from their mistakes, and thus becoming more difficult to defeat. Beast was doing his best to keep the foes down, resorting to his more powerful blows but even his stamina was waning. The kings and queens were also growing tired, their stamina draining fast as they tried to either outrun or outmaneuver the animated winged statues. The pre-teens were not faring any better, but they were doing their best to at least keep out of reach of the silver and red gargoyles. Melody and Tracy were running away from one of the animated statues, and Dopey was with them. The young dwarf's courage was a little lost at the moment, especially when one of the winged brutes broke his pick axe weapon. The two princesses were running on fumes now, and they were clean out of ideas. However, Tracy had one idea left. She turned to Melody and exclaimed, "Follow me! I have an idea… I hope!". She then ran to one of the earthen pillars, one that had some long spikes sticking out of it. Melody followed her lead, going to the spiked pillar and the two girls waited. Dopey decided to hide BEHIND the pillar, throwing himself behind said structure while he was wondering why the two princesses did not follow his lead.

The gargoyle barreled down towards the two pre-teen girls, its hands stretched out to grab them! Tracy counted off softly, "3… 2… 1… NOW!" before she and Melody dived to either side, the gargoyle soon crashing into the spiked pillar! The beast was not smashed to pieces, but parts of it showed gaping holes when it pried itself loose. It turned so that the girls were not able to see its wounds… but certain small creatures did when they peeked out and saw that one of the holes showed the amber Life Stone they saw earlier! Sebastian and his small furry friends saw the amber stone in the heart area, and it glowed brightly before the regeneration process started again. The earth formed around the parts, repairing and healing the winged monster before it turned its attention back to the princesses and Dopey.

Sebastian exclaimed, "Dat's it! Dat is how they are able to heal themselves! We got to get dat colored stone out from their bodies!". The mice were all up for it, but Jaq asked on how they could do it without getting themselves killed. Sebastian was thinking on that, but the crab was more good at composing musicals then coming up with viable plans. However, Gus made the decision for them all when he charged out of hole they were hiding in! The entire lot looked on in surprise, and Rosette called out to her husband to come back. The chubby little mouse did not heed her words, instead charging at the gargoyle who had landed and was stalking towards Melody. The brave friend of the Charming family climbed up the winged animated statue's leg and went up to his head. The two humans and dwarves saw this, and were wondering why in the world their small friend was climbing towards the head of the flying beast.

Tracy called out, "Gus?! What are you doing?! Get off of that thing!". However, Gus put on a brave face and lowered himself using the hair from the gargoyle, now face-to-face with the brute. The animated being stopped in his tracks, not showing it on his face but he was a bit surprised to see a rodent hanging on its hair to glare at him. Gus then gave a loud yell of some kind, somewhat of a battle cry before swinging towards the gargoyle! He forced the monstrosity to open its mouth, then dived right in! All who saw it gasped, and the gargoyle was so stunned that Gus slid right on it without any problems. Rosette fainted in Deline's arms, her friend fanning her face with her paw-hand and Jaq was just dumbfounded, as was Sebastian. The gargoyle got over his surprise and looked at a stunned Melody. She was so shocked on what the furry friend to the Charming's did that she did not comprehend on what was coming at her. The gargoyle reached for her, and was about an inch away when it just… froze. Melody had flinched, thinking she was about to be grabbed, then opened her eyes to see that the winged being was just frozen.

"What's going on?! Why did it just stop like that?" Tracy inquired as she went to her friend, Dopey right behind her. The gargoyle then lurched back, clutching at its chest like something was wrong with it there. Then, from the heart area burst forth… Gus! The little chubby mouse was alright, and had a look of victory on his paw as he held up the amber-colored stone… the Life Stone! Sebastian and the others came out to celebrate, and when Rosette was brought back to consciousness and saw her little life-mate alive and well, she was very happy too! Of course, she promised that when all of this was over… she was going to kill him for pulling a stunt like this. Melody, Tracy and Dopey were a bit puzzled on what Gus was holding up, and turned to see that the gargoyle had turned back to complete stone! The being was once again back its original form, and when Dopey poked it, it crumbled to pebbles! They saw that it was not regenerating like it did before, and that is when Melody put the puzzle together. She kneeled down, taking the stone from Gus but patting the brave mouse on the head and saying that he did an excellent job. Gus was blushing, always liking when a lady complimented him.

Melody showed the Life Stone to her friends and asked, "What do you think this is? Think this is what caused the gargoyles to come to life in the first place?". Her answer did not come from either Tracy nor Dopey, but from Sebastian as he and the others scuttled over to them. Rosette hugged Gus for being so brave, then slapped him for doing something so reckless that made her heart stop. The little guy still had a lot to learn when it came to women and their emotions.

The musical genius stated, "We saw dat stone glow when these things got damaged enough, and then it healed. I believe these are what keeps these beasts alive, as well as healing them!". Melody and Tracy looked at the amber-colored stone, then looked to Dopey. Tracy asked if he could break this, and he nodded happily. He took from his coat two large diamonds, the princesses a bit puzzled by he kept two large gemstones in his pocket. Melody laid the large Life Stone on the ground, and the dwarf took aim with both gems. His tongue sticking out a bit, he then brought down the gemstone on the amber-colored rock, smashing it together like a sandwich! The stone was smashed to rubble, and the amber-color glowed briefly before fading away to look like an ordinary smashed up rock. The gargoyle that went from pebbles soon turned to dust, wiped away from existence by a sudden gust of wind that scattered the dust everywhere.

"We got it! That's how we're going to defeat these gargoyles! Oh Sebastian, everyone! Thank you so much for your help!" Melody exclaimed, but it seems she got the attention of the others. When Dopey smashed the Life Stone, it caused a shudder and pulse to go to the other gargoyles. Demona too, as she froze in mid-air and clutched her heart like she was having an attack. The remaining eleven gargoyles looked towards the small group, and Demona screeched in anger when she saw the crumbled form of the Life Stone.

Tracy knew what to do and yelled out, "EVERYONE! AIM FOR THEIR HEARTS! THEY HAVE SOME KIND OF LIFE STONE IN THEM, THAT'S WHAT IS KEEPING THEM ALIVE AND HEALING! DESTROY THOSE STONES!". Once the humans and Beast heard that, they turned to their foes… and a victorious smile was on their faces! With their weakness found, a sudden surge of energy and strength flowed through them and they started to go to work on the gargoyles! Demona hissed in anger and turned to her wingmen, ordering them to get the blabbermouths that just revealed their secret. Tracy, Melody and Dopey were now the targets of her ire and they were a bit scared from seeing the very angry look on her face. However, Sebastian and the mice did not back down. Gaining confidence now that he rarely showed, the crab just stood his ground with his friends.

He yelled out, "Come on, you over-glorified bird! Come on and get a taste of these!". He put up his claws like a boxer would, saying for Demona to put up her dukes. Jaq, Deline, Rosette and Gus also put up their small paws like boxers, showing that they were not going to back down! It seemed that new life and courage was flowing through them, and they were going to put it to the ultimate test!

The heroes and heroines started to turn the tide of battle back in their favor, their attacks now aiming at the heart areas of the gargoyles! Beast concentrated his immense strength in one point, and clawed-punched his way through to one of his foe's heart area, pulling out the amber-colored Life Stone and smashing it on the ground! Though it fractured, it did not break nor lose its hue. Belle took care of that by smashing her weapon, a morningstar mace, down as hard as she could! The stone then broke sufficiently enough to fade back to look like an ordinary stone, and the gargoyle was turned to dust in an instant! Two down, ten to go!

Hadrian, Dianne, Oliver and Edgard were leading three gargoyles into a trap, one that all four of them came up on the fly. Now that they learned of the winged beasts weakness, their minds were working in overtime to see on what they could do. The four pre-teens were leading them towards Aurora, Ariel, Snow White and Cinderella, who were hiding behind two pillars. Clutched in each of their hands were swords, borrowed from their husbands and they were hoping and praying that this plan of the children's would work. Hadrian saw the flying devils coming in fast, and that is when they put their plan into action! He exclaimed, "All right, now!". The four queens came out and stood straight and true, side by side as they held their ground! It looked like they formed a human spike wall, their swords straight out and still. The four pre-teenage heroes and heroine quickly jumped to the side, and the gargoyles were flying into the adult women! Their heart areas were pierced by the blades, and the metal sliced the Life Stones in half upon contact! The animated creatures quickly turned to dust, and the heroes/heroines were cheering loudly! They had every right to be proud, since they did defeat massive flying creatures. The group cut their celebration short as they went to go and help out the others. Three more were down, seven to go!

The kings were having their own difficulty with two of the beasts, their weapons gone since they did hand them over to their wives. They were now using makeshift clubs of earth that they tore off from some of the pillars, and swinging it at the massive beasts, who were stalking towards them. One of them grabbed the club that Philip was using, and crushed it in its talons. The two fiends of evil magic were about to attack swiftly when they saw two mice hanging on from their heads; Deline and Jaq, and Rosette and Gus. The animated creatures recognized Gus as the one who took out their comrade, and swatted at the mice, shaking their heads too to try and get them off. The furry mammals held firm, and the husbands forced open the mouths as wide as they could to let their wives in. Deline and Rosette went inside the gargoyles, and the winged beasts beat their chests, trying to force the brave souls out of their being. The female mice showed that they were like their husbands; brave, tough and also determined. The two located the Life Stones, and started to claw their way out of there while grasping the amber-colored rocks. Since they were mice, they were good at digging through earth. They soon emerged from the red and silver gargoyle's chest at the same time, and in their paws was their prizes! Asce commented with a smile, "Way to go, ladies! Way to go!". Jaq and Gus helped their respective wives out, and the mice dropped the amber-colored Life Stones on the ground. The princes then used their clubs on the stones, and soon they cracked enough to be useless. Two more down, five to go!

Demona was enraged as she looked at the scene before her, seeing the two wingmen gargoyles that she sent to deal with Melody, Tracy and Dopey were quickly dispatched when Godzilla came and smashed the animated flying beasts to rubble with his tail! The troublemakers then found the Life Stones amid the ruin, and the dwarf broke them with his two large diamond gems. She then saw her remaining two gargoyles also get dispatched by Beast, Belle and Mainard. All that remained was her, and she was NOT going to be destroyed by some humans, a dwarf, some mice, and a monster! She screeched in anger and flew towards the porthole window that led to the outside, wanting to smash through it and escape to the wide open world. However, Godzilla had other ideas as he quickly reached out and grabbed the female winged demon of the night by the tail! He slammed her down hard, doing his infamous Up and Down Slam technique on her, lifting her up and slamming her down on the ground hard three times before flinging her to the wall! Demon slumped to the ground, panting as some fatigued started to settle into her being. She tried to get up, but she was soon face-to-face with the red crab that was with Melody and the others earlier.

"Alright, girl! Now ya get to see Sebastian in action!" he exclaimed before quickly forcing her mouth open and using his left pincer, pinched tight on the tongue! Demon let out a screech of pain, one that caused everyone to wince and cover their ears. Except for Godzilla, who seemed to be delighted to hear the winged female cry in pain. Sebastian then jumped into her mouth and started to dig his way through her, the gargoyle trying to spit out the musical genius of Atlantica. Sebastian's claws were harder and sturdier then the mice's claws, so he was able to dig his way through to the heart area. Though, it was not easy since Demona was trying to upchuck him. In a few moments, he reached his destination and found the Life Stone! Though hers was blood red while the rest was amber-colored, making the crab wonder why Demona was made to be more different then the rest. He just shrugged his shoulders, yanked the Life Stone out and started to dig his way out! Demona trembled in fear on what she felt inside, and looked down at her heart area. It cracked a little, and soon Sebastian emerged from her heart area! Though, she did not turn to dust as the others did, still on her feet and alive even though the stone was out of her.

Sebastian held the blood-red Life Stone high, a proud smile on his face! "Hahahaha! If only da king and da others can see me now!" he exclaimed, very proud of his accomplishment. Sebastian then tossed the stone to Melody, who was looking at Demona who was holding the hole in her heart and looking enraged at the humans. She shook her head, seeing such hatred and rage was truly a sad sight for her. Demona screeched loudly, running towards the princess with the only thing on her mind was dismembering her bit by bit. Melody Marcel then turned to her friend and bonded, Godzilla, and tossed to him the Life Stone. The King of the Monsters held out his claw, and the blood-red stone landed in his right claw. He then crushed it without hesitation, the Life Stone now nothing more then pebbles. Demona screeched one last time before turning back to stone, lifeless completely with the hole in her heart. Her pose was reaching out, her form just mere inches from Melody, like she was all ready to strangle the princess.

Godzilla roared in victory, very much glad that these nuisances were now out of the way. In his view, they were small fries, distractions that kept them from their true enemy. Ariel and Eric went to their daughter, as did the parents went to their children. Snow White and Florian were greeted by Dopey, and the mice were reunited with Cinderella. Sebastian went on top of Demona's head and exclaimed, "I be da slayer of gargoyles! Hahahaha!". Melody stifled a smile, seeing the proud look on the crab's face. Just then, the door that Godzilla tried to open some time ago glowed briefly and opened up by itself. Beast told everyone that it was time to go, and the heroes/heroines filed out slowly behind Godzilla. As they were walking away from the frozen form of Demona, Melody turned to see the statue. She shook her head, very sad to see such rage and hate on anyone or anything. She then left without a word, leaving the minion of Maleficent inside the room.

The group was back on the path again, going slightly more upward. In ten minutes, the path split again into four sections. Godzilla sniffed the air and started to go towards the path on the lower right, but something happened that made him stop in his tracks. The whole area was shaking! "W-What's happening?!" Edgard exclaimed as the floors and walls quaked. The group turned around to see that the path behind them was crumbling, and fast! Their instincts took over, and the group split up, going down different paths! Godzilla and the pre-teens plus Dopey went down the lower right path, the kings went down the far left path, and the queens went down the middle path. The path behind them kept crumbling, and continued on even after the paths split up. The three groups ran fast, little knowing that they were going into trouble! For instance, the path the kings took was leading them to Maleficent! The path the queens took were leading them to the Magical Arsenal chamber, where Maleficent kept the magical artifacts of power including the Magic Mirror! And the kids and Godzilla plus Dopey… they were on the path that led to Shadowsneak, the last of the Three Generals!

Things were about to really heat up for them all!

(Author's Notes: And… cut! Going to stop here for now. I hope you all liked it! I got a bit delayed due to a case of fast allergies that hit me hard, but I'm recovering. So, what do you all think? Like I stated earlier, I wanted to give props to the secondary characters and I hope I did that well! If you were any of the characters, what would you say to Sebastian and the others for finding out the gargoyles' weakness? Also, I used the move that Godzilla often used in the Showa era series, if you have seen any of the movies related to said era.

Next chapter, it's all about the battles! First one up is Fatima & Rodan vs. Springy, then shifting over to the battle between Minos & Anguirus vs. Tightfist!

So, here are some questions: What do you think of Max's new form, and also his ability now to communicate with the new allies he has called up? I bet you would be surprised to see the ones that almost tried to eat you are now the ones helping you out. Also, what do you think of Dopey's actions? I wanted to give him a little more in the spotlight, for I think he is more then just comedy relief. And also, what kind of advice would you give to the ones that are going into battle against the Three Generals? What kind of Hidden Mickey's did you see here? And finally… what kind of advice do you want to give the kings and queens when they reach their destination?
