Monsters and Magic
By: DJ Rodriguez
(Author's Notes: Hi everyone! DJ Rodriguez here, and telling you all that this is it! This here is the second epilogue to my novel, a story I have poured my heart, soul and spirit in! And again, I thank God and Jesus for helping me all this time! Believe me, I would have never made it this far without them! So again, thank you God, Jesus! I really hope to end this novel by hitting the 400,000 word mark here! I also dedicate this last chapter to my nieces, Lily and Isabel, who I am using in this ending! I got permission from their parents, so it's cool.
This epilogue shows what happened in the Disney universe, so be prepared to see some magic, mystery and answers to questions that you all must have had in your heads. Also, I would like to point out something. When I showed the cameos of the Disney stars, I did it for two reasons. One, is to show that Godzilla has a LOT of potential to be cross-overed with certain Disney movies! You just need to know how to do it. And also, I did want to put in more cameos, but I thought if I did so, it would cause the ending to be slow and such. So, I just did the ones I liked and the ones that are popular today.
One other last thing before I officially finish and complete my novel. If this really did become a Disney animated film, like the ones in the early 90's like with Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast… would you still watch it? I do not own Godzilla or any of the Toho creations, nor do I own any of the Disney creations or characters. I do own my own OC and most of the songs here! Any song I use that is from another artist or group, I will be sure to give him, her or them their fill credit and due.
Now, on with the novel!)
Epilogue Two- Disney
It was a quiet, peaceful day in the land of Sennen, England. The year is 2014. It has been well over 200 years since the arrival of the monsters from another universe arrived in a fashion that could only be described as either legendary… or fairy tale. Now, even the tale has been lost to the sands of time and many have forgotten about it. The people of the land often spoke of what took place in their town many years ago, but it was few and far in between. Even more so rare was the people that believed in these legendary tales. However, two teenagers were among these rare breed of humans that still believed in legends and stories. They were cousins, Lily Vela and Isabel Molina. Both were from San Antonio, Texas in the United States of America. Lily was about seventeen years of age, and was a real beauty in many ways. The young lady had short, straight black hair, brown tan skin, a build that showed she took care of herself, deep black eyes and a cute nose. She was wearing what seemed to be what explorers wear before entering caves or ancient temples. She had a medium-sized backpack that had stickers from the places she had been.
Isabel was almost identical to her cousin, except she was about six inches shorter and sixteen years of age. She had light, wavy and long brown hair, storm-gray eyes, a light tan skin complexion, and a good build of body that showed she took care of herself. Like her cousin, she was dressed for adventure! She had a medium-sized backpack that was yellow, while her cousin's was blue, and it too had stickers that showed where she had gone throughout most of her life. The Molina girl looked to her cousin and whispered, "So… ready to explore that castle?". The two young ladies were in a hotel room that their parents had checked out. Their families were together on a trip around the world, having won the lottery some weeks ago. Said adults were out in the town, but they stayed behind… for another purpose.
Lily answered, "I'm ready. I know they told us to stay here and enjoy ourselves, but we just can't pass up an opportunity to check out that castle! Especially after hearing some of the legends around it!". They were good, smart ladies that used common sense and obeyed their parents. But like most spirited people, they sometimes bent the rules to go out exploring. Especially in areas that concerned legends and the like. When they were young, they were told stories by their uncle on fairy tales and legends, and they were hooked. Isabel and Lily had researched and read about various legends across the globe, exploring the places where said legends were at and often getting into large amounts of trouble. When they heard about the tales here at Sennen, they wanted to check out the Marcel castle that was nearby.
Isabel adjusted her backpack and answered, "I know, I know. It's just that place has been abandoned for years, and the locals say to stay away because its haunted.". The two ladies had heard that the Marcel castle was haunted, some locals saying about ghosts that roamed the hallways and hearing a strange humming sound that no one was sure where it was coming from. Lily stated that if it was, they would beat feet and retreat. The duo were adventurous, but were serious about one another's safety and retreated when it was too dangerous.
Seeing that they had everything organized and prepared in their packs, the two looked at each other, nodded then opened the door to go out onto another adventure!
The journey was about a forty-five minute walk, but it seemed to be worth it to the cousins when they made it to the castle grounds. Before them stood Marcel Castle, a once proud and majestic place that housed the royal family that used to rule this land. It was ruled by King Eric, Queen Ariel, and Princess Melody. The transfer of kingdom rule went to Melody and her husband, King Oliver Oxen. History told that they were the first interracial couple in all of European history, and had led the land in a golden age of peace and tranquility. Also, made the kingdom prosperous with sea trade with other nations, even forming alliances with certain kingdoms in various parts of other countries. However, the turbulent years came and the family soon fell into decline. Now, almost no information was left on the Marcel-Oxen family. Many did not know if there were any descendants left or not. The castle fell into decline along with the royal members, falling into a sad state of disrepair and decay. Amazingly, no one had gone inside the structure to rob it of any treasures or works of art. Any kind of person who got near the place in an attempt to rob it suddenly got the chills, shivers that struck one's soul. So, the legend of the Marcel Castle being haunted was born and had been around for nearly a century.
Isabel and Lily walked onto the grounds, seeing that it looked to be a front courtyard. The hedges were growing wild, and vines were creeping everywhere. The Molina girl looked around and said, "It's kinda sad that this place fell to the extreme stuff that happened here in Europe. You know, the revolutions and so forth. I bet this place was just incredible back in the day.". Isabel was like her uncle, having a love of history and was a bit old-school herself when it came to certain things. One of them was taking out a small Kodak traditional camera, and snapping some pictures of the grounds. Lily was more modern, using a digital camera instead of a traditional one. However, Miss Vela did not mind that her cousin was old-school like that. There were some things that were solved easily with simple techniques rather then a digital solution. The two lovely but adventurous ladies opened the front doors to the castle, the chill of fear never entering their spirits or hearts. For some reason, they were not affected by the thing that caused nearly all interlopers to run away screaming for the hills. When they entered the abode, Lily made sure to close the door gently as to not disturb anything that could be lurking inside the ominous-looking structure.
What they discovered amazed them to no end! The teenage girls were in the living room of the Marcel castle, and saw that everything was covered in white sheets. Apparently, they had taken precautions to preserve their furniture and such from time, dust and decay. Lily and Isabel pulled some of the white cloth off the large items, and saw that underneath the sheets were pieces of furniture and trinkets that were priceless and in excellent condition. The Vela girl whispered, "These furniture pieces and such… they have been preserved for so long, and are still in excellent condition! It's amazing…". She thought these items would fetch a good price on the antique market and such, but she banished those kinds of thoughts quickly. She knew these items and trinkets belonged to the rightful owners of this land, and would not be a thief of some kind just to make a quick buck. Her parents had taught her to use and have honor, dignity, and empathy. The duo looked around to see that despite not having any kind of guests in the longest of time, the place seemed to be well-kept.
Isabel pointed to two large picture portraits that were covered with thick white sheets. She inquired, "Lily, help me pull these things down. I want to see what's underneath them, but we need to be careful.". Lily nodded, going to her cousin and aiding her in pulling down the sheets with care. The Velas and Molinas had taught their children to be careful with property, be their own or others. Once the sheets were pulled down in a way that did not disturb what was underneath them, the two got a good look on what the cloth was protecting… and both gasped on what they saw.
Before them were two pictures, large colored portraits that were painted and drawn with such love, care, and professionalism that was extremely rare nowadays. Both were quite large in both height and width. The portrait on the left featured the original Marcel family; King Eric, Queen Ariel, and Princess Melody in her pre-teen years. By the princess's side was an old English Sheepdog, Max. The three were dressed in their best, and having warm, true smiles on their faces. Behind them was the castle, Lily and Isabel seeing that the castle was pristine, clean and quite a sight to see. They could clearly see the difference between the structure in the painting, to the real palace they were currently in. On the right side was of a young lady that looked to be in her early 20's, and a closer look revealed it to be Melody, all grown up! She was indeed a beauty, and by her side was a handsome African young man which was Oliver/Olujimi Oxen! The young man and lady were dressed in the finest of royal clothing, but had small crowns on their heads indicating that they were prince and princess. Not king and queen… at least not yet. The couple had smiles on their faces that showed contentment, happiness, life, love and hope that was commonplace among newlyweds. The place they were in seemed to be the front courtyard, which was alive and vibrant with life but also maintained. Lily and Isabel realized that the courtyard they just went through a little while ago was the very place that this painting was taken in!
"Wow… this is incredible! These portraits here are from the original owners, the royal family themselves! The one on the left shows the original Marcel family, while the other shows when the Marcels and Oxen families merged as one. We really need to get pictures of these!" Lily stated in awe before taking off her backpack, unzipping the front and reaching inside to pull out her digital camera. Isabel was one step ahead of her, as her camera was in a side-pocket that could be easily opened and reached into without taking it off. The Molina teen started to snap away with her traditional camera, while Lily shot hers with her pictures with her digital one. The light inside the living room was of poor quality, but they had little choice in the matter. Once they took enough pictures of the portraits, the duo decided to split up and search more of the castle. Lily went upstairs while Isabel opted to stay more downstairs. The Vela teen climbed the tall stairs, taking great care since she did not know if the steps were still structurally sound after all these years. Once on the second level, she started to explore her surroundings.
Lily was taking pictures and notes of the chambers that were upstairs, seeing the living quarters of the Marcel family and also rooms that served other functions. She came upon the Art Room, opening the door gently and looking around the interior. The teenage explorer discovered that while this room was kept in good condition like the rest of the abode, white sheets covering most of the props and such, many wrinkled papers were scatted on the floor. They were old and crinkled up, aged by time as they were not protected by the thick, white cloths. Lily could see that this Art Room was meant for children as the canvases and portrait props were too small for an adult to use. She leaned down and picked up one of the crinkled papers, taking extra care not to damage it. She was expecting to see a drawing of a flower or something childlike, innocent. What she saw made her face and eyes take on a puzzled expression. She whispered, "What the-? What the heck kind of drawing is this?".
On the paper was a drawing of a crude monster of sort, with a curled up tail, spikes or spines on its back and breathing out what appeared to be blue flames.
The Vela teenager thought to herself, 'It looks like a dragon… but with no wings. It's strange since most dragons in Europe were shown to have wings that allowed them to fly. And they spat out orange-red flames, not blue. Whoever draw this had one heck of an imagination…'. She put the paper on a shelf, thinking it would get destroyed if it went into her backpack or outside where it would be more exposed to the elements. She closed the door completely upon leaving, then went back downstairs to see how her cousin was doing. Walking down, she looked around and saw Isabel coming from one of the hallways near the fireplace. Lily asked how her exploration went, and the beautiful teen was very much excited on what she had seen on this level.
"This place is amazing, Lily! I saw the soldier's quarters outside, the kitchen, the servants quarters and also found some old gold coins lying about! They must have been loose change back then, and slipped out from the pockets here and there. I found four, so I'll give you two later on. Every single part of this place is well preserved, I'm surprised that bolder people haven't come in to take this stuff away or to check on their value." Isabel stated. Lily realized that she did have a point. The locals and even outsiders were afraid of this place since they stated it was haunted, hearing sounds and seeing strange sights. But so far, they had not heard anything besides their own footsteps, and hadn't seen any ghosts or other supernatural spooks. The Vela teen decided to investigate later on, if it were possible. The two cousins went back to the living room, right back in front of the fireplace and the portraits.
Lily said, "Isabel, this place is just so incredible! And also a mystery. You want to come back here later on, show our families what we discovered?". The young lady nodded her head, replying that it would be cool to investigate more thoroughly while also bringing the others here to this place. They would have to make sure that the locals did not know of their actions, since they might try to stop them or taking some legal action that would have some serious consequences later on.
The Molina teen then suggested, "Lils, before we go… how about we do our old dance here? You know, the one we used to do as kids.". Years back when they were young and carefree, the cousins had developed a special kind of promise dance that was meant only for the two of them. Sort of like a secret handshake, but with a little more flair and style then how most people did it. Lily thought it over, smiled and nodded her head. Since no one else was around, she decided that it would be cool their old promise dance. Though they had not done it for about a year or two, the duo still knew the words and what to do. The two looked down to see that a large symbol was on the marble floor of the living room, one that showed a circle with a golden trident that was in the blue ocean. Lily went to the right side of the circle while Isabel went to the left. When they judged the right distance and remembering their steps, the duo took a deep breath then prepared to do their Promise Dance. They moved along the circle in ballet-style, showing that they took lessons back in their youth and it stuck for all this time.
Lily spoke first, doing some graceful twirls and pirouette moves, "We stand and live in the right and light, never accepting wrong and sick…".
Isabel stated her lines as she mirrored her cousin, "We fight and stand by one another, changing and yet staying the same is quite the trick!".
The cousins danced inside the circle, keeping to the edge of the line seamlessly and nicely. Lily spoke once more, "We live, love and laugh with our loved ones! We see more right then wrong!".
Isabel picked it up, "We love to have fun, and we love to be true! This is our sweet promise song!".
They continued to dance and be with in motion with one another, never noticing the trident and ocean glowing faintly on the ground in the symbol they were standing in. After doing some more twirls and poses, they looked across from one another and grins were on their faces. These were true smiles, ones that showed they loved to do this. They walked towards one another, slow but sure. Both stated at the same time, "We believe in light, we believe in love! We're old-school but that's our pick!".
When they reached the middle of the symbol, they lifted and slapped their respective right hands together and it looked like they were going to arm wrestle or something. But, it was on how they finished their special song off. They said the last part loud and clear, "We believe in monsters, and we believe in magic!".
It was at that very last part that the symbol beneath them glowed so brilliantly, it lit up the room! Lily and Isabel were so startled by this new event, that they held one another in a bit of fright. The trident flashed gold, the ocean a royal blue and a rush of unknown air and energy flew from underneath them! The cousins gasped and looked as they were being lowered down! The symbol they were standing on was a platform of some kind, going into the depths of the castle underground! They looked up to see the ceiling getting further from them, and soon… they were swallowed into darkness.
Lily and Isabel fumbled with their backpacks to get the flashlights out, but as it turned out… they did not need them. The whole dark room they were now in was soon alit with torches, and that in itself caused the young women to gasp and hug their backpacks tightly to their chests. The Molina teen whispered, "Lily… how did it do that? What's going on?". Her cousin shook her head, not having the answer. What she did know was that these torches were truly old-school, lit by fire and not by electricity. Seeing that there was no way out, at least not the way they came in, she told Isabel to follow and stick close to her. She did, but the young woman was more in awe now then freaking out. She believed that magic, the true kind instead of the ones done by magicians and movie-like magic, was the reason these torches were lit! But, she was keeping it to herself at the moment. As they followed the torches, they found themselves in a long but wide corridor. Along the walls were large portrait pictures, but they did not recognize any of them.
"Lils, look at these pictures! The names in gold plating underneath them. Bingwen Boqin and his wife Jiaying… Kenneth and his father Lenny Motley… Mr. and Mrs. Brown with Sarah and Brad… Regina & Carlitos… Joshua, David, and Pamela… Captain of the Royal Guard, Jackson Dashboard with his wife Minnie and son William… and more. Who are these people?" Isabel inquired. What the cousins did not know was that this place was secret, known only to the royal family of Marcel! The pictures were of the heroes and heroines that had fought alongside the royal family during the incident that caused much to happen to them all. The cousins went right through, checking each portrait and finding them to be in near perfect condition. They also saw portraits of mermaids, beautiful ones at that. A powerful-looking merman that looked old and with a trident, the same one that was on the symbol they were dancing on before. They also saw a picture of a blue and yellow fish, a goofy-looking seagull on his head, and a bright red crab. The three looked very expressive with human-like emotion, especially the fish that looked very annoyed at the seabird that was using his head like a stand of some kind. Among the pictures were also fairies, magical folk that existed in the fairy tale books Lily and Isabel read as children. The Vela lady loved elderly woman in the light blue robe waving a small white wand, while the Molina woman was enchanted by the fairy in emerald green and looking like an enchantress rather then a fairy. The two took much pictures of all the portraits, to put it in the scrapbooks later on.
It was a bit of a walk, but they finally made it to the central chamber. This was deep beneath the castle, and what they saw would be etched in their minds for a good long while. When they reached the central chamber, torches all along the walls lit up at the same time… and they saw a large statue of a monster! The girls gasped upon seeing the white marble statue, but more in fascination then in fright.
The marble statue was about ten feet in height, and it was crafted to truly be a work of art. It stood on two legs and was in attack position, its head fierce and its eyes strong like a king. Lily and Isabel examined it closely and the Vela girl whispered, "This is truly incredible… the artist who made this put so much detail and effort into it! It looks so lifelike and ferocious!". It was a statue of Godzilla, the King of the Monsters himself! It seemed that the Marcel's truly wanted to remember the saurian as he was, and therefore commissioned for a statue to be made in his likeness. It seemed that the artists who took the job were paid well to be very detailed and excellent in their craft. After examining the monster statue more, Isabel spotted writing on the base of the work of art. She stated the contents out loud, "Here is Godzilla, the King of the Monsters and one of the best friends anyone could ask for. Unspeakable power, unstoppable fury, unbreakable will! Wow… this statue is here of a monster that is actually considered a friend. And its name is Godzilla?". The cousins were now curious on why a statue would be here about a monster, especially one that looked and sounded more like a force of nature then anything else. Lily spotted something in the distance, and saw another door that was directly across from the door the just emerged from.
"Hey, Isabel! Look at this! Maybe we can find some answers through that door over there. Or… maybe a way out?" she called out to her cousin. The young lady went around the large statue over to her flesh and blood, and the two went to the large wooden door. Lily tried to open it but found it much heavier then it looked. She called to Isabel for assistance, and the two pushed with all their might on the thick wooden door. The barrier slowly parted with their strength, and the duo opened it up completely. It was difficult to open not only due to its frame and thick wood, but also due to the rusty hinges. It had not been open for some time. The young explorers went in, and found themselves in a large rectangular room that was quite large. More torches lit up for them, startling the newcomers a little.
"Lily, I think… I think this place is run by magic! And I mean the real deal kind, not the flashy stuff that they show off in Hollywood and all!" Isabel stated excitedly, and Lily agreed with her. Ever since they came to the castle, she felt a tingle all over her body. An energy that was all around, one that was not electrical… and definitely not man-made. It was a soothing kind of energy, one born from the heart and spirit. She looked to her excited cousin and told her they would look more into that later. The duo looked forward to see a large book on a pedestal in front of them, and three large curtains on the sides. Lily and Isabel went to the pedestal and saw that the book before them was slightly dusty but in excellent condition. It was of dark gray leather, about double the size and thickness of a phone book. The cover showed the image of the trident in the middle of a circle. The circle itself was peculiar, the line had five different jewels at certain points in this order; A clear white diamond, a rose-colored ruby, a sky-blue silver gem, a rose quartz, and finally a deep royal blue sapphire that looked to be the color of the ocean at the very top. The gems were real, embedded in the dark gray leather cover and in a perfect sphere shape like marbles. One thing was sure was that this book looked to be ancient, more like a tome then anything else.
Isabel and Lily felt the book, and felt a strong tingle of energy wash over them! The two gasped as unknown wind blew up, wiping away any and all dust away from the area and from the book. Said object glowed in a bright royal blue light, causing the ladies to cover their eyes from the intensity of it! It thankfully lasted for only a few seconds, and when the duo found it safe to unshield their peepers… they found the book good as new! It was as if it was just freshly made yesterday! The title was shown above the symbol and it was in gold letters, the two not being able to see it thanks to the dust that was over it. But now it was clear as day, and it read Monsters and Magic.
Isabel commented, "Lils, this place is getting weirder and weirder. But I like it! Go on, open the book!". The Vela girl was a bit hesitant, but opened the book to the first page. She started to read out loud for her cousin.
She read, "Dear readers who find this book, know that true history has been written here. More likely it has been left out of normal history, and into legendary status perhaps. But your strong faith and belief in things that are beyond this mortal world has allowed you to find this place, and it is in this book. This tells the tale of a time when we, the Marcel family ruled this land, when we were visited by monsters from another place. This tome tells the story of when two universes collided, many worlds coming to one place… when these amazing creatures brought all of us together in ways that are too fantastic to describe in one book. The Marcel family, along with our allies/friends that are scattered all over the European world, have just one piece of the amazing tale. You will need to find the rest that are with the Valentin's, Rhoda's, Célestin's, and Charming's. Now, read and know the truth… about when us the Marcels… Eric, Ariel, and Melody… met monsters and discovered true magic with them!". Needless to say, the two young teens were stunned by what they just read/heard… and that is when the curtains on both sides and in front of them parted by themselves to reveal something incredible!
The wall on the left showed five pictures, framed and well-preserved. Unlike the portraits they had seen, these looked to have been drawn by children or pre-teens. Each picture was something different and unique, showcasing different people… and different monsters. Isabel and Lily saw two pictures of Godzilla, but he was with different girls. They saw a picture of a large worm of sort, one too big even in the animal kingdom, a strange creature that looked like a mutated Ankylosaurus, and a large pteranodon. The girls' minds were whirling on what they were seeing, and more so when they looked at the wall opposite of the pictures. A large portrait that covered the entire wall showed the royal family of Eric, Ariel and Melody with Max. However, there was an extreme difference to the one that was upstairs in the living room. This portrait showed the people and animal as if they had gotten out of a war-zone or something. Their clothing was tattered, scars on the prince's face, and also old Max looked very ruffled. But despite the look, their facial expressions showed a light and strength that was amazing! To Lily and Isabel, the family had just gone through heck and was smiling because they survived it together! When they looked directly in front of them… that is when things blew their minds!
"Isabel… I think we may have stumbled upon something much bigger then we realized…" Lily whispered as in front of them was another portrait… and an object that was about the size of the doorway they came through earlier! It was lying sideways on a pedestal, and covered in a faint golden dome of sort. This object was dark green in color, and looked to be like a skin cell… one too large for any creature known to mankind! It was perfectly preserved, fresh after all of these years. The young ladies looked to the wall, and saw a portrait that featured all of the monsters from the five framed pictures and the ones from the hallway together, all in one massive group picture! They were seeing all of the royal families, friends, magical beings, animals, and even the merfolk together in one place by the sea… at Sanctuary! Above them all was the symbol Fauna saw earlier, the circular symbol like a sun! What was peculiar however… were that two circles were on the top of the large main circle, looking like mouse ears.
Lily and Isabel looked down at the book, and at the title… and swore on their very lives that they heard the loud roar of a monster… of Godzilla, as they gazed at the golden words… Monsters and Magic.
THE END
(Author's Notes: And… cut! Fade to black, print, take five, that's a wrap! This novel is officially completed! It is all over! Man… I thank God again for helping me out with this! I was a bit worried I miss to make the 400,000 word mark! In any case, I am glad it's all done! What do you think? The symbol in the large picture that is above the G-Cell piece is the TohoScope symbol, the one that always shows up at every old-school Godzilla movie! The mouse ears added on it showed a true combination of Disney with Toho! Also, I added the tome as it is because I wanted it to be a true tribute to the Disney classics. If you have seen them, then you know what I mean. Movies like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, Jungle Book and more all started out with a storybook opening up to tell the tale.
Also, the five pictures that are up are the original ones the kids made long ago shortly after their first encounter with the monsters! If any of you remember them. If not, they should be in the early chapters. Also, I want to point out that ANYTHING could have happened in the time between here, and when the monsters left the Disney realm. They might have come back, perhaps more or less with company, and dropped into any of the Disney realms. Use your imagination and see what you think! I really want to give any and all people the opportunity to make their own Godzilla/Disney crossover!
As you can see, the royal families had a lot of help from their magical friends in creating the secret underground area, the portraits, and more, especially in preserving it. Of course, they also had professional help from those who did not have magical talents. Never underestimate the craft of a person who puts passion, love, and pride in their work. And it seems that Lily and Isabel have found just one, but critical piece of a mysterious puzzle and history that the royal families left behind! And it seemed that the children and princesses opted to keep the presents the monsters gave them.
Now, for the questions. What would you do if you decided to check out the Marcel castle? What kind of items would you bring? How would you feel if you triggered and saw the secret underground area? Would you try and take everything out, report it or keep it a secret? And also, why would you do so? And finally… would you try to convince your family to go to the areas where the other hidden books/treasures/history of the other royal families are at? To search for more clues and answers to a story that is too large just for one family to have?
R&R, no flames, enjoy and leave long reviews!)
