"Wow, look at this place!" Freddie said as him, Sam, Carly and Spencer stepped into the lobby of a beautiful five star resort.

"Yeah, the Web awards sprung for a pretty decent place," Sam said approvingly, her hand laced with his.

"Hopefully this Web awards goes a little better than our last one," Carly said. "You know when we were kidnapped and almost disqualified."

"Don't worry," Spencer said. "I'm not gonna let any of that happen this year. You guys will be safe this time under my careful watch!"

"Dude, you almost got run over coming here," Sam pointed out.

"Well this is London!" Spencer defended. "They drive on the wrong side of the road!"

"Look, Spence, it was sweet of you to come here and protect us from any crazy people, but we are adults now," Carly reminded him. "We're nineteen and we don't really need adult supervision anymore. Why don't you just take some time to yourself to relax and tour the city? London has some great art museums."

"No can do, Carls," Spencer said firmly. "You may be adults, but you're still my little sister and, well, my little sister's friends. Now you're in an unfamiliar country with a ton of people around for these web awards, I just think it would be a good idea to have me around to make sure that nothing happens to you. Hey, wait here while I go check us all in."

Carly waited until her brother had gone off to the front desk before turning to Sam and Freddie. "Well, it looks like he's really not gonna let up. You're gonna have to tell him."

"Ugh, he's gonna freak out!" Sam groaned.

"Well, maybe he won't," Freddie reasoned. "I mean, we are adults, after all."

"Fredwad, Spencer nearly had a meltdown the other day when he caught us making out!" Sam said. "How do you think he's gonna react when we tell him we want to stay in the same hotel room!"

"Yeah, I'm thinking he's probably gonna explode," Carly said.

"Or," Freddie said. "He could be reasonable and accept the fact that Sam and I have been together for over a year now and are in love and want to sleep in the same room together."

"You lost him at 'reasonable'," Carly smirked.

"Maybe we could just not tell him," Sam suggested. "Maybe we can just switch rooms in the middle of the night! Carly, you can take Freddie's spot in the guys room and Freddie can over with me and we'll switch back before Spencer wakes up."

"Come on, that's ridiculous," Freddie said. "Look, Spencer may be a little…weird, but he's an understanding guy."

"Fine," Sam said simply. "Then you tell him."
Freddie's eyes widened. "Me?"

"Yeah," Carly smirked. "It shouldn't be a problem since Spencer's such an understanding guy."

"But that doesn't mean that-"

"Hey, I got out room keys!" Spencer said brightly, rejoining the group. "Carly, Sam, you're in room 454. Freddie, me and you are across the hall in 456."

"Well…I'm gonna go unpack!" Carly said quickly, grabbing her key from her brother.

"Huh, wonder why she's in a rush," Spencer said. He turned to Freddie. "Oh well! Come on, roomie, let's go check out the place!"

"Er, um, actually Spence," Freddie said, glancing nervously at Sam. "About the rooming arrangements-"

"Well, I'm gonna go try and find a vending machine!" Sam said. "I'll just leave you two to-"

"Sam…" Freddie said, taking her hand again. He looked back up at Spencer. "Um, Spencer…you know Sam and I have been together for, like, over a year now, right?"

"Sure," Spencer nodded.

"And-And you realize that we aren't kids anymore, right?" Freddie continued.

"Um, okay," Spencer said, confused.

"We-We're just…Sam and I feel that it's-that we should-"

"Wait, wait, wait," Spencer chucked. "I know what this is about."

"You do?" Freddie said.

"You do?" Sam frowned.

"Yeah," Spencer replied. "You guys want to go get your picture painted by that caricature artist we passed in the park earlier."

"What?" Sam and Freddie both exclaimed.

"I mean it's only natural," Spencer said. "What couple doesn't what a funny painting of the two of them together?"

"Spencer, we don't want to get our picture painted," Freddie sighed. "We-We want to stay in the same room while we're here, okay?"

Spencer's eyes widened and his jaw dropped, but he didn't say anything.

"Oh my God, Carly was right," Sam said. "He is gonna explode…"

"Er, Spencer?" Freddie said. "Spence…did you hear me? Are-Are you okay? You, um, wanna say something? Please."

"You-But-but if you share a hotel room…you two-no supervision-things happen-ah!" Spencer stammered.

"Um, look, never mind," Sam said quickly. "We-We'll just stick to the original arrangements."

"Yeah," Freddie nodded, watching with concern as Spencer steadied his shaking legs by griping a nearby chair. "Carly and Sam will share a room and you and me will share one. There's no use in you having a heart attack over this."

"No, no, I'm fine," Spencer said weakly, still looking as though he had been slapped in the face. "You-You're right."

"Dude, your eye is twitching," Sam pointed out.

"It's allergies!" Spencer said quickly. He stood up straight. "Um, well, I guess…I guess this has been a long time coming. You-You guys are a couple with those feelings-"

"Oh jeez," Freddie mumbled.

"I should've known that eventually you two would want to-to take this step," Spencer said shakily.

"We're just sharing a hotel room for three nights," Sam said. "It's not like we're-"

"No, save your analogies!" Spencer said.

"My what?"

"Listen, I'm a cool guy, I understand these things, Spencer continued. "I'm not going to overreact. I never overreact."

"Um, that's sort of not-" Freddie started.

"Here," Spencer said, handing the couple the room keys that had been meant for him and Freddie. "You can have this room all to your selves. I'll just bunk with Carly. See? No problem!"

"Oh," Freddie said, still a bit wary about Spencer's reaction. "Well…thanks Spence. We really appreciate you seeing things our way."

"Well I'm a rational guy, what can I say?" Spencer said. "Well, I guess I better go tell Carly about the switches. I'll see you guys when we go get dinner."

"Alright," Sam said slowly.

"See you then," Freddie said.

Once Spencer had exited the lobby, Freddie turned to his girlfriend. "See?" he said, beaming proudly. "I told you if we just talked to him it would all work out."

"I still say he's gonna blow," Sam shrugged.

"No way," Freddie said. "Maybe we should start giving Spencer more credit. He handled that whole thing so maturely and-"

Just then they heard a loud cry of frustration echo in from outside the lobby.

"Told you," Sam smirked.

….

"Wow, I wish they made fish and chips like that back in America," Carly said several hours later as the four walked back to their rooms after a night of exploding the city.

"Yeah, but it's so weird that they gave you fries instead of chips with it," Sam said.

"Baby, I told you, they have a few different name for things here," Freddie told her. "Chips are French fries, mom is mum, elevator is lift-"

"Yet you're still a nub," Sam grinned, giving him a quick peck.

"Hey, who's up for a group game of charades?" Spencer said. "Or we could play jacks! Or-"

"Spencer's it's after midnight and we're all jet lagged from the flight over," Carly yawned. "Why don't we all just head to bed?"

"Yeah, I'm beat," Freddie agreed.

"Me too," Sam nodded.

"Come on guys!" Spencer said, full of energy. "There's no need for us to retreat to our separate rooms with the newly modified rooming situation! Let's go find an unattended maid's cart and steal some toilet paper or something."

The three exchanged looks.
"Spencer," Freddie said. "Look, we told you, if you're really gonna make yourself crazy over it, Sam and I will go back to our old rooming arrangements."

"Who's crazy? I'm not crazy!" Spencer said.

"Oh I beg to differ," Sam mumbled.

"Come on, Spencer," Carly said, grabbing her brother's arm and leading them towards their room. "Let's go to sleep."

"Hey, here's a fun idea!" Spencer said. "Let's sleep with our doors open tonight and tomorrow night and all the nights we're here!"

"Spencer!" Carly snapped as she opened up their room door. "Let's go!"

"Or we could all have a slumber party and sleep down in the lobby!" Spencer exclaimed as Carly tugged him away. "Or we could go ghost hunting! Or-"

"So…he's lost it," Sam said as Carly slammed the door shut.

"Yeah, hopefully some sleep will help him, though," Freddie said, unlocking the couple's room and stepping inside.

"Maybe," Sam sighed, kicking off her shoes and collapsing onto the queen bed in the middle of the room. As Freddie hung up his jacket, Sam sat up and looked over at him. "Well you know we can't do anything now. All I'd be thinking about is how freaked out Spencer would be if he found out; I mean, these walls are paper-thin. On the way up I think I heard some guy arguing with a potato or something."

"I know," Freddie said heavily, sitting down next to her. "But we can still just enjoy having some time to ourselves without any interruptions. Even if we do just sleep. It will still be nice to-"

Suddenly they heard hurried knocks coming from their door.

"You're kidding," Sam moaned as she fell back onto the bed.

"Hold on," Freddie said, getting to his feet. He answered the door and saw Spencer standing in the hall in his pajamas. "Um, hi Spencer. Do you need anything?"

"Just thought I'd stop by and say good night!" Spencer said brightly.

"Good night," Sam snapped, rolling her eyes.

"Hey, you guys want to stay up all night with me and send funny text messages back and forth to each other?" Spencer asked.

"Um, no," Freddie said. "We're about to go to bed. We have to be up for the Web awards pretty early tomorrow morning so I figured we'd just some sleep."

"Oh…okay," Spencer said. "Yup…everyone needs to get sleep, don't they?"

"Yes…so why don't you go get some too?" Freddie suggested.

"Sure!" Spencer said. "Um…you guys positive you don't want to make a late night fro-yo run? My treat!"

"Spencer, do you want to switch rooms?" Sam asked, annoyed.

"No! Why would you think I'd want to switch rooms?" Spencer scoffed.

"Well then we're gonna sleep, for the millionth time," Freddie said. "So good night, Spencer."

"Night guys!" Spencer said. "I'll just be across the hall…being totally cool with these sleeping arrangements and-"

"Man, he's gone bonkers," Freddie said, closing the door as he walked back over to the bed.

"Well, Carly's the one who has to deal with him tonight, not us," Sam said, getting underneath the covers.

"I know," Freddie said, sliding into bed next to her. He wrapped his arms around her as they settled in. "We're gonna have to buy her dinner or something for this."

"Probably," Sam chuckled. She gave Freddie a quick kiss. "Night, baby."

"Night Sam," Freddie yawned. "Love you."

"What in the-"

"Ugh! This is too far!"

Sam and Freddie sat up and turned on their light as they heard loud knocks coming from their door.

"What does he want now?" Freddie moaned, rubbing his eyes.

"It is three in the morning!" Sam hissed. "We have to be up in four hours! That's it! I'm gonna go out there and-"

"Stay here, Sam, I'll handle this," Freddie said, knowing there was nothing more dangerous than a Sam who had just been woken up so abruptly.

He dragged his feet to the door and opened it up.

"What?" he demanded, looking up at Spencer. "It's three in the morning!"

"I-I know," Spencer said. "But I thought I'd just…check in on you guys. Make sure you're okay."

"We're fine!"

"Oh, well…you never know," Spencer shrugged. "Just making sure you guys don't have any problems or-"

"Spencer, for the last time, if this is making you so uncomfortable, we'll switch-"

"I don't want to switch rooms!" Spencer exclaimed. "Why do you guys keep saying that?"
"Because you're acting like an idiot!" Sam called from inside the room.

"Just go back to bed," Freddie said to Spencer. "We're perfectly okay in here."

"You sure?"

"Positive!"

"Well okay…I guess I'll just-"

"Swell!" Freddie snapped, slamming the door in his face before he could finish his sentence.

"I'm too tired to even talk about how weird he is," Sam mumbled as Freddie turned off the lights.

….

"Three times!" Freddie said to Carly the next morning as the three sat in Sam and Freddie's room. "He woke us up three times last night!"

"You know how exhausted I am?" Sam said angrily. "How am I gonna get through a bunch of Web awards chiz with practically no sleep."

"I'm sorry, I really tried to keep him under control last night," Carly sighed.

"It's not your fault," Freddie said, zipping up his suitcase.

"You guys sure you want to do this?" Carly asked.

"Yes," Sam said at once. "We need to switch rooms. Trust me, I'd rather not get to sleep in the same room as Freddie than get no sleep at all."

"It's fine, Carls, we practically live together back home," Freddie pointed out. "Three nights apart won't kill us. Or, well, it will keep us from killing your brother, at least."

"You know Spencer is gonna deny how crazy he was acting," Carly smirked.

"We know," Sam said as there was a knock at the door.

Freddie walked across the room and let Spencer in.

"Hey, they have amazing tea downstairs," Spencer said, holding up a paper cup. "You guys should go get some and-Hey, why is your suitcase all packed up, Freddie?"
"Because," Freddie said simply. "I'm moving into the room across the hall with you and Carly is switching in here to stay with Sam."

"How come?" Spencer frowned. "I told you guys I was fine with-"

"We know you were fine," Sam said quickly. "But…Freddie and I decided it was, um, too soon in our relationship to share a hotel room."

"Yeah, we decided that," Freddie nodded. "So, um, if it's okay with you…we'd like to go back to the original rooming arrangements."
"Oh," Spencer blinked. "Well…if it's your decision…sure! Not that it bothered me either way. I mean I was cool as a cucumber with how things were and-"

"Uh-huh," Freddie said, leading Spencer out of the room. "You sure were."

Carly waited until the door had closed behind the two men before turning to her best friend.

"You and Freddie have shared hotel rooms before," she grinned. "You went to Canada together just last month!"

"Yeah, well, what your brother doesn't know won't hurt him," Sam said.
