Hello! Its been a while but here is what will probably be the last chapter of this fic. I just rewatched through Faith again and still couldn't stand that ending. I hope mine is more acceptable.
She cried under that tree and so did he. Tears of happiness and relief and for the longest time they just held each other—the urge to just be touching stronger than anything else. The hillside was suddenly beautiful again and Eun Soo thought of how the colors seemed to have been dulled before just this moment. She tilted her head back to kiss the bedraggled jaw of her once lost love and he bristled under her touch. His hands balled into fists around her clothing and he pulled her closer like he was trying to pull her into his armor, so she could never leave him again.
Eun Soo melted in his arms and laid three more kisses along his jaw before reaching up and pulling his mouth to hers. Sweetly. Softly. Not nearly as deep as she would have liked but couldn't bear to rush.
"Woo Dal Chi," she said with what little breath she had left, smiling brilliantly, "back at the inn I saw everyone," Choi Young looked taken back for a split second at the mention of anything that wasn't them embracing but he got lost in her eyes and her smile and nodded back to her. Any explanation could wait until later.
The boys were rowdier than ever when the reunited couple walked through the Inn's outer doors. No one noticed them at first as Choi Young leaned against the door frame all the while never letting go of the small hand that he had so much missed but as Dae Man sniffed at the air his head spun around. His hair still unruly but pulled back away from his face and his smile was just as sharp and overpowering but years had been kind to him as he had aged.
"Tae Jung!" He yelled followed quickly by a stuttered as he often did those 5 years ago "D-D-D-Doctor!" He looked quickly back and forth from the couple to the men surrounding him who were only slightly more shocked than he was. Then the room erupted. Eun Soo only recognized a handful of the Woo Dal Chi but those she did recognize all approached—all with joy in their eyes—some with tears. Croons on "High Doctor" sang up near her and far in the back of the pack where the other Woo Dal Chi stood whispering to each other about how they had never seen their General hold a woman's hand or how his smile was bigger and brighter than ever before.
"High Doctor!" Deok Man pulled Eun Soo into a hug and cried into her now messy hair. He got about two sobs out before Choi Young smacked him upside the head with his sword hilt and pushed Deok Man away from the doctor. The remaining Woo Dal Chi let out sounds of pleasant surprise and awe as Chung Seob patted Deok Man on the back. Choi Young smiled blindingly down at the red-haired woman he had a firm grip on.
Nothing much had changed in the five years that she was apart from Choi Young. The Woo Dal Chi were now more men than boys and her beloved had grown some scruff, but their laughs were the same and she felt the same rush of familial love when she was surrounded by these men. To her, it wasn't five years that she was away but to them it was, and she couldn't imagine how terrible it must have been for Choi Young compared to what she went through.
Her thoughts stiffened her, and she tightened her grip on the general's hand. Her tears from earlier threatened to make a reappearance and tried to smile up at him before he pulled her face to his chest, hiding her from the rest of the men.
"Eun Soo is tired from her long journey from Heaven." He said gruffly like it explained fully why he was suddenly pulling her away from the group and up the back stairs to where he knew Chung Seob had saved him a room to stay in. He didn't let go of her hand until they were upstairs, and he turned to close the door behind them. Before he could turn back around Eun Soo had curled her arms around his midsection and was fighting back tears.
"Let me take off your armor," she said through an emotion warbled voice. He almost moved to stop her but she was already working at the lacings quietly, "Don't argue, It's been so long. I want to do this for you," He didn't fight as she tugged the armor apart and held it so he could slide his arms out of it. She laid it on the floor gingerly and returned to him, wrapping her arms around his front this time, burying herself in the smell of leather and him.
"You were gone for so long, I thought something had gone wrong," Choi Young said quietly into her hair, running one hand through it gently. She smiled and shook her head.
"But you were still waiting for me," She paused," I didn't think—couldn't hope that you would be waiting for me." She blinked her eyelashes against the skin of his neck and he bristled like he had before—like he had once in his quarters when she called him Tae Jung one too many times. Her voice was something he thought he would forget quickly but he never did, and he never stopped missing it.
Eun Soo snaked one hand up behind his neck and trailed his jawline for a beat before leaning upward to kiss him like before on the hillside. Sweetly. Softly. And then nothing like that at all. A yearning had risen in her over the time she spent away, and it could only have been worse for Choi Young because as soon as she licked at his bottom lip he instantly picked her up and walked her over to the table nearby, deepening their kiss. His hands wrapped around her waist, brushing the underside of her bust tentatively and it was Eun Soo's turn to bristle.
"Imja," he breathed into her and she felt faint. He pulled back and looked into her eyes, their pupils dilated beyond reason and their pulses both racing. "Don't. Move." Said quietly and determined before spinning to the door without noise and pulling it open so that the handful of Woo Dal Chi listening all fell forward into a pile. There was a moment of recognition before they all scrambled up and away, muttering excuses but leaving the hallway empty none the less.
Eun Soo looked at him as he closed the door again. She looked at her kidnapper, her psycho, her guardian, her Tae Jung, her Imja, and teared again at the sight. Such a heart wrenching, beautiful man, staring back at her. She couldn't move as he glided back to her and spoke nothing more than one word before he pulled her lips to his again.
"Imja."
So that's it! I'm sorry it was so long after I originally posted this but my computer was stolen and I never picked the story back up after I lost all my progress. Re watching a show like Faith doesn't happen as frequently as some because its such a heavy show but when I do OH BOY. Anyway. I hope you enjoyed that little bit of bowchikawowow.
Thank you to everyone who stuck around and Favorited in the hopes that I would write more and finalize this piece. I really appreciate it. I really appreciate any feedback I might have gotten or might get on this chapter or story as a whole. If you want to go check out my other works I'd be honored!
