"-And so then me and Sam spent the entire day just chilling in her backyard," Freddie said as him and Spencer sat on the Shay's couch, watching T.V. "It was real romantic. We laid a blanket out and had a picnic lunch, watched the clouds, Sam threw mud at her neighbor…It was so nice. And then later we-"

"Okay, we get it!" Spencer snapped, cutting Freddie off. "Freddie has a himself a girlfriend and is in love. Sing a new tune, will you?"

"Um…you okay, Spence?" Freddie frowned.

"Yeah," Spencer sighed. "Sorry, dude. It's just, well…I'm real happy for you and Sam and all, but it's just a little, er, embarrassing when your little sister's best friends are having more luck at this whole relationship thing than you are."

"What? Come on," Freddie said. "You're, er, average with relationships. Hey, didn't you have a date with some girl last weekend? What was her name…Melinda?"

"I was supposed to," Spencer said. "But before we even got into the restaurant, I accidently almost ran over her in the parking lot and she got a bit upset."

"What is it with you running over your dates?" Freddie asked.

"Hey, I only almost ran this one over!" Spencer defended. "Pay attention!"

"Okay, well what about that girl from the Pottery Barrel?" Freddie pointed out. "The one with the lisp? Didn't you get dinner with her a few weeks ago?"

"Yeah, only I didn't know that she was a strict vegetarian," Spencer said. "So I took her out to a steakhouse and she got so offended she spilled iced tea all over my new shirt!"

"Oh, is that where that stain came from?"

"Um, no, that was an incident at a hula-hooping contest I went to with Socko," Spencer said quickly.

"Alright, so you're in a slump," Freddie said. "But it will pass. I mean look at me and Sam!"

"That is true," Spencer nodded. "You are kind of a dorky guy. It is kind the perfect demonstration of an unbalanced relationship if you think about-"

"Okay!" Freddie said loudly. "Thanks."

"Man," Spencer sighed, leaning back in his seat. "I hate being all lonely. I just want a girlfriend; is that too much to ask?"

Just then the apartment door opened and Sam walked in.

"Yo, Spence?" she said. "You don't have a girlfriend, do you? Because I found someone for you."

"What? How did-Did you time that?" Freddie asked.

"You found me a girlfriend?" Spencer asked, jumping to his feet excitedly.

"Well…let's not get ahead of yourself," Sam said. "You have a tendency to screw up relationships, after all. You've run over, what, three of your girlfriends?"
"Two, thank you!" Spencer snapped.

"Whatever," Sam said. "But I can set you up on a date. You interested?"

"Duh!" Spencer nodded.

"Wait, who are you going to set Spencer up with?" Freddie asked his girlfriend.

"My cousin," Sam replied. "She's moving to Seattle in a few days and she's bummed about not knowing anybody here, so I told her I could set her up with a guy."

"You-Your cousin?" Spencer frowned. "Um, listen, I'm actually thinking of taking a break from the dating scene-"

"Oh calm down," Sam said, rolling her eyes. "She's one of my normal relatives. No arrests, no restraining orders, no toe hair…"
"Oh," Spencer said. "Oh, well alright then, great."
"So I can tell her you'll go on a date with her?" Sam asked.

"Sure," Spencer nodded.

"Awesome," Sam said, sitting down next to Freddie and giving him a quick kiss. "I'll text her now."
"Wow, since when do you play matchmaker?" Freddie chuckled.

"Eh, I owe my cousin sixty bucks," Sam shrugged. "So I figured this would make us even. Just don't screw it up, Spencer, because I don't have the cash to actually pay her."

"So what's your cousin like?" Spencer asked.

"Well, her name is Ella," Sam told him.

"Ella…" Spencer repeated. "That has a nice ring to it. It sounds like umbrella."

"You might want to start getting that sixty bucks together," Freddie smirked.

"So what else can you tell me about your cousin?" Spencer asked.

"Let's see," Sam said. "She's twenty-seven, she was born in Italy but grew up in California."

"Interesting," Spencer said. "She can never run for president…"

"Does that matter?" Freddie frowned.
"Well it's just an interesting fact!"

"Oh, she dropped out of art school," Sam added.

"How come?" Spencer questioned.

"To go to law school."

"Ironic…I like that," Spencer nodded.

"And she has three pet snakes and-"

"What? Snakes?" Spencer exclaimed.

"It's not like she's gonna bring the snakes on the date," Freddie said.

"You don't know that!"

"Dude, man up!" Sam said. "Just go on the date so you can stop whining about being a lonely thirty-year old without a job or a girlfriend."

"Fine!" Spencer said, heading towards his bedroom.

"Where are you going?" Freddie called after him.

"To search up how to treat snake bites on the Internet!"

"He's gonna wind up blowing this, isn't he?" Sam sighed. "And then you're gonna be out sixty bucks-"

"Me?" Freddie frowned.

"You know I spent all my money on corndogs last week!" Sam snapped.

"Well who knows," Freddie said. "Maybe they'll wind up really liking each other. I mean, crazier things have happened…look at us."
"Yeah, good point," Sam grinned, leaning up to kiss him.

"Besides, even if things don't wind up working out between Spencer and your cousin, I think Spencer will enjoy just getting out there," Freddie continued. "I mean he's been having a pretty rough dating life lately. Man…I remember what that was like. Now I've got the perfect girlfriend by my side and I'm living the good life."

"Pfft, perfect?" Sam scoffed. "Okay, nub, what do you want?"

"Nothing," Freddie said simply. "It's just the truth."
Sam blushed as she swatted Freddie's shoulder. "At least give me some warning before you pull cheesy lines like that."
Freddie laughed as he pulled Sam onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her.

"I do hope Ella and Spencer wind up hitting it off," Sam said. "I like Ella…she deserves to have someone make her feel this happy all the time."
"Hey," Freddie smirked. "Who's using the cheesy lines now?"

…..

"So let me get this straight," Carly said that weekend as her, Sam and Freddie sat up in the iCarly studio. "I leave for three days to go to Yakima to help granddad clean out his attic and I'm suddenly replaced as the group matchmaker?"

"You're not replaced," Sam said, rolling her eyes. "I set up Spencer with my cousin; it's not a big deal."
"You know how many dates I've set up for that guy?" Carly said. "Too many! I've given up!"

"So what are Spencer and Ella going to do tonight anyway?" Freddie asked.

"Ella really likes Chinese food, so I told Spencer to make reservations at the Lily Garden," Sam replied.

"Wait," Carly frowned. "You told him to make reservations at the Lily Garden?"
"Yeah," Sam nodded. "Why?"

"Uh-oh," Carly sighed. "This morning I heard him on the phone making reservations at the Hillbilly Garden."
"Hillbilly Garden?" Freddie repeated. "That's a place?"
"Yeah, it's actually not to shabby of a restaurant," Sam said. "See, they let you bring in your own road kill and they'll cook it for you-"

"That's disgusting!" Freddie cringed. "Do any health inspectors know about this?"

"Of course, they actually gave the place a higher health rating than Funk. E. Festers," Sam said. "Hey, that can be where we go for our anniversary next month!"
"I am not eating road kill on my anniversary, Sam!"

"Why not? It beats the stuff your mother feeds you."
"It does not-"

"Can we please change the subject?" Carly asked, clutching her stomach.

"Well we better make sure Spencer takes Ella to the right restaurant," Freddie said. "Because if he brings her to that place there's no way there's gonna be a second date."

"Eh, she is half Puckett," Sam reasoned. "But I guess she is one of the more classy Pucketts. She's the only one of her sisters who shaves her armpits, after all."

"Wow…your family is really something," Carly chuckled.

"Does my breath smell?" Spencer asked nervously as he paced back and forth in his apartment later that evening. "Maybe I shouldn't have had that sardine and onion sandwich for lunch."
"I told you that three times!" Carly exclaimed.

"Sam just texted me," Freddie said. "Her and her cousin just walked into the lobby and are on their way up."
"I got to go swish some mouthwash!" Spencer yelled, bolting into his bedroom.

"Man, I haven't seen Spencer this nervous since that art critic came here last year to look at his sculpture," Carly said.

"I know," Freddie nodded. "Hopefully he can calm down before-"

He was interrupted as the apartment door suddenly opened and Sam walked in, followed by a tall, young blonde woman.

"Hey people," Sam said, walking over to Freddie and greeting him with a quick kiss. "This is my cousin, Ella."
"Hi," Carly smiled politely. "Nice to meet you."
"Ella, this is my best friend, Carly," Sam said to the woman. "Carly, Ella."

"Hi, Sam's told me so much about you," Ella said to Carly, shaking her hand.

"And this is Freddie," Sam said, putting an arm around him.

"Oh yeah, the boyfriend," Ella grinned. "Weird…you're not as scrawny and pathetic looking as my Uncle Carmine described you."
"Um, thank you?" Freddie frowned.

"Don't worry about him," Ella chuckled. "He really does think you're a good guy for Sam…Deep down."

"Okay, I gargled half a bottle of mouth wash," Spencer said, coming back from his room. "You think that's enough or should I-"

His sentence fell flat as he caught sight of Ella. His jaw dropped and his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

"H-Hi," Spencer managed. "Are you…you must be-"

"And this is Spencer," Sam said to Ella. "Spencer, meet Ella."

"Hi," Ella grinned.

"Wow, you look…whoa," Spencer said. He quickly cleared his throat. "I mean…I like your shoes."

"Smooth," Freddie mumbled under his breath.

"Hey, shouldn't you guys get going?" Carly said. "Your reservations are in twenty minutes."
"Right, right," Spencer said quickly. He extended a shaky hand to Ella. "My motorcycle is parked downstairs in the-the-"

"Parking lot," Freddie finished for him.

"Right…that place," Spencer nodded.

"We're taking a motorcycle to the restaurant?" Ella asked.

"Not if you don't want to!" Spencer said at once. "We'll take the bus! Or-Or we can bike! Or my buddy Socko has an RV we can take or-"

"I love motorcycles!" Ella said. "Let's go, I can't wait to see it."

"Wow," Carly said as Spencer and Ella headed out of the apartment. "Is it just me, or did something really click between those two?"

"Baby, you just may be the new matchmaker of the group," Freddie said to Sam.

"Ugh," Sam cringed. "No thank you, Carly can keep her title."

….

Later that evening, the three teens were sitting around the coffee table working on iCarly bits when the apartment door flew open and Spencer skipped in.

"What an amazing night," he said, carelessly tossing his jacket onto the floor.

"So you had fun?" Carly asked her brother.

"Fun doesn't even begin to describe it!" Spencer said. "After dinner we went go karting and then she showed me how to do a whole bunch of motorcycle tricks."

"Sweet," Sam grinned.

"Sounds like things went really well," Freddie said.

"I even got her number!" Spencer said excitedly. "And we're getting coffee tomorrow! Man, I've never met anybody like her before; she's just so-so perfect! Hey, I know I just dropped her off, but do you think it would be okay if I call her right now? Would that make me sound desperate? You know what? I don't care, I'm calling her."

"Oh my God!" Carly gasped as Spencer raced into his bedroom. "Did you see him? I haven't seen him this happy…ever!"

"Holy chiz, he looks like he's…in love," Sam said.

Freddie chuckled. "I know the feeling. Trust me, if Spencer feels the same way I do when I'm with you…he's incredibly lucky."

"Aw," Sam smiled. "That's so sweet I won't even make fun of you for being overly sappy."

She leaned over and kissed him.

"Wait a minute…" Carly said slowly as her two best friends continued to kiss. "This means-Dang it! I'm the only single person left now! Sam, you have anymore cousins you can hook me up with?"
"Sure," Sam nodded, pulling apart from Freddie. "But quick question; how okay are you with prison records, nose rings and face tattoos?"

"Er…on second thought, maybe I'll just enjoy the single life for a little bit," Carly said quickly.
