I am SOOOO sorry for the huge delay in posting! My hard drive officially gave up the ghost but thank the gods that a friend was able to save all my info and install a new one for me! I'll post a few chapters over the next week or so to make up for it and then after that it should be back to normal!

Rated MA for language, violence, and sexual content (yes, there will eventually be hot lesbian sex, but also a plot and a story)

This is a lesbian fanfiction people, if you don't like it, don't read.

Disclaimer: If I owned the Teen Titans, I'd be a whole lot richer. As it is, if you sue me, I'll laugh and help you look for money. But in all seriousness, I do not own these characters, DC, Cartoon Network, or any of that jazz.

First time actually posting a fanfiction so please be nice, but I seriously would love feedback!

Note: So I realize my version of Raven is far more affectionate/touchy-feely and open with her emotions than she is in a lot of the fanfictions out there. My excuse is that while Raven does a lot to hide her feelings, I believe she loves more powerfully than any of the other Titans (well, except maybe Starfire because that's like, what she is lol). The side of Raven we see in 'Spellbound,' 'Nevermore,' and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the episode but the one with the toddlers, is how I think Raven usually is with her friends when not kicking bad guy ass and being a total bamf. It's been a couple years since the deal with Trigon and I think she really did realize she didn't have to hide her true self from her friends or conceal her emotions as much. Anyway, that's my long ass rant about why Raven is the way she is in this story. Don't like it, don't read it. (Except please read it.)

Chapter 4

It was another hour before the surprising pair left the park and headed back to the city. Their walk back was just as quiet as their journey to the park had been, but held an entirely different energy. Raven had done her best to retell the story of her 'rather disastrous' birthday. Considering she had been, for lack of a better term, 'dead' for quite a bit of the event, she managed to piece together her memory with what the other Titan's had told her happened into a coherent account of Trigon's rise and defeat. Jinx's expression had been very hard to read during her story telling. In Trigon's temporary but effective destruction, she had also, once again for lack of a better word, 'died,' during the apocalyptic event. The fact that she had had no idea clearly bothered her more than she had let on.

Raven had realized the extent of her own emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion shortly after she finished recounting her 'sweet sixteen.' Though she and Jinx wanted to work towards understanding their newfound connection, they had agreed to save that for another night. It was nearly three in the morning and they knew their respective teammates were likely frantic about their long absence.

They arrived back at the cafe at which they had begun their evening. It was long since closed for the night. Though they had grown immensely more comfortable with each other throughout the evening, their parting suddenly reminded them both of their awkward situations. Raven was still a Titan and Jinx was still a criminal. They would likely meet again on the battlefield before they'd conveniently find each other alone again. Reading Jinx's mind; figuratively of course; Raven sighed.

"It'd be nice if I had a way to find you that didn't involve armored cars and large sums of money." She said accusingly, though her smile assured Jinx she was teasing.

Jinx fished in her pocket for a moment before pulling out a small communication device similar to the one Robin and Cyborg had designed.

"I'll tell Gizmo mine broke, happens pretty often actually. It's like I have bad luck or something." She winked.

Raven snorted in amusement before taking the device.

"Gizmo will program me a new one with a new number so that one should still work afterward. I'll call you at 7 PM tomorrow, well, I guess today, to make sure it does."

Raven gave a mock salute before slipping the communicator into one of the pockets on the inside of her cloak. Jinx laughed, once again pleasantly surprised by the dark girl's sense of humor. With a smile and another wink, Jinx turned to head home.

She was stopped by Raven's hand on her arm. Turning, she met shy purple eyes with her surprised pink ones.

"I-I'm really glad you came looking for me tonight." Raven said softly.

"I'm really glad you decided not to fry my brain." Jinx replied with another playful smile.

Raven laughed. "I'm glad about that as well."

She slowly released Jinx's arm, but not before another strange charge passed between them.

"Go get some sleep, demon girl." Jinx said, laughing at the shocked look Raven responded with.

She leaped gracefully away from Raven's half-attempted swipe and continued to laugh as she waved and disappeared around the corner.

Raven still couldn't quite believe Jinx's almost easy acceptance of her true self. The 'demon girl' comment showed she was much more comfortable with the idea than any of Raven's friends were.

"I guess being a criminal might give her a different view." Raven said allowed, not in disgust but just in observation.

With a long, tired sigh. Raven silently rose into the dark night and flew home. Robin was the only one still awake when Raven teleported inside, and he accepted Raven's not untrue excuse of needing a late night walk without much question. He looked just as exhausted as she felt and was more than happy to head to bed as soon as he knew Raven was safe.

Taking an hour or so to actually meditate before going to bed, Raven finally realized how physically and emotionally drained she was. Praying to whatever Gods happened to be listening that she wouldn't suffer another nightmare, Raven fell asleep seconds after her head hit the pillow.

The next day passed by rather uneventfully. The Titan's ran several patrols across the city but weren't alerted to even a pickpocketer. Robin insisted that Raven only accompany them on one patrol and spend most of the day resting. She had put their curiosity about the previous day's battle at ease by explaining that her mind had been in such a fragile state from her nightmare that Jinx's bad luck powers had just caused her to have a very draining flashback. Her friends knew not to question her further and she had gratefully accepted Robin's orders to stay home and rest.

As seven o'clock drew nearer, Raven found herself growing more and more anxious, although she couldn't for the life of her figure out why. She had found herself again struggling to meditate nearly all day. But rather than four terrifying red eyes, every time she closed hers, it was two sly pink eyes that broker her concentration.

Damn this connection! I can't even meditate because she's still connected to my mind!

Raven had thought with frustration, ignoring the part of her that was suggesting her thoughts of the sorceress weren't related to her magic at all.

Realizing that Jinx was going to occupy her mind anyway, Raven turned her energy to researching the villainess. All she really knew about Jinx was that she had been recruited by the HIVE Acadamy at a young age and after failing to impress Slade, had settled into a life of crime with her 'classmates.' Robin and Cyborg had worked at expanding the Titan's database for years and though Jinx's file was extensive, it was only filled with statistical data about her behavior in battle, crimes committed, and a personal profile with her height, weight, style, and powers. The large print 'UNKNOWN' next to 'Home & Origin' caused Raven to turn from the computer in frustration.

I suppose I could go the old fashioned way and just ask her.

Raven thought, internally rolling her eyes at herself.

It took her a moment to realize an unfamiliar beeping sound was coming from her cloak she had left draped over a chair. Jumping from her spot at the computer with more eagerness than she wanted to admit, Raven pulled Jinx's communicator from its pocket and flipped it open. Her stomach gave a strange somersault when she saw the pink eyes she'd been unable to push from her thoughts looking up at her.

"Sup demon girl?" Jinx greeted.

"Uh, hi."

Nice, smooth, Raven. This is why you're such a people person.

Jinx laughed despite herself and Jinx found herself smiling back.

"I can call back later if it's a bad time?" Jinx teased.

"Sorry, you just caught me reading. Kind of in my own world." Raven replied, easing quickly back into the comfortable conversion she'd discovered with Jinx the night before.

"Something fascinating I'm sure?"

Raven glanced over at her computer screen that was still glowing with Jinx's personal info.

"I've read better." She replied with a smirk.

Jinxed raised her eyebrows suspiciously but didn't push the matter.

"Wanna meet up? You can tell me all about whatever 'reading material' has you so flushed." Jinx said with a wink.

Raven was surprised at how much she wanted to accept the offer.

"I can't." She replied with an apologetic frown. "It's movie night and BB is convinced he found one that will scare me, despite how many times I've reminded him how well that turned out last time."

Jinx looked disappointed but laughed again.

"Now that sounds like a story I need to hear."

Raven chuckled at the memory. "It's certainly a good one."

"Then you'll tell me tomorrow at dinner?" Jinx asked.

Raven's stomach did that ridiculous lurch thing again.

"Ok, sure." She heard herself say.

"I'll see you tomorrow then." Jinx said, not even trying to hide the pleased grin from her face.

"See you tomorrow." Raven replied with a nod, her own smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

Jinx winked again before the communicator screen went blank. Raven stood looking at where Jinx's face had been grinning up at her until a knock on her bedroom door made her jump and drop the device.

"Yo! Rae! Movie time!" Cyborg shouted.

Picking up the communicator and tucking it safely back into her pocket, Raven pulled her cloak back around her shoulders and allowed Cyborg to pull her to the living room.

After the movie, the Titan's began a rather aggressive version of poker to lighten the mood. It was well after midnight before Raven was able to convince her friends that Beast Boy's movie was not going to recreate her accidental 'house of horrors,' but her lack of sleep might. Starfire had long since fallen asleep on Robin's shoulder and was snoring loudly.

"If any bad guys decide to start wreaking havoc before noon tomorrow, count me out." Cyborg yawned.

After saying their goodnights, the Titans drug themselves to their respective bedrooms, Robin stopping to deposit Starfire in hers. Despite having spent the majority of the day resting, Raven was asleep within minutes of lying down.
