Light shone through the window, right on Willow's eyes. She turned around to block it but the light was everywhere. Groaning, she opened her eyes. This was not her room. She recognized it though, it was Elena's. How did she even get here? Willow pushed the sheets off and stretched her legs. Apparently, she had been sleeping in her clothes. Thank god she and Elena had the same size, she thought as she took one of Elena's outfits and changed. It was weird being in her room when her friend wasn't, as if she was trespassing. Willow got downstairs and saw Stefan sitting at the table, playing with his ring.
''You didn't cook me breakfast?'' she joked. Stefan looked up and had a confused look on his face.
''Oh, right, you eat, don't you?'' he said and stood up. Now it was Willow's time to chuckle. She saw Stefan staring in the fridge, scratching the back of his head. ''So, what do people eat again, in the morning?'' the vampire asked her. Willow couldn't believe her ears. ''Are you serious? Don't you see Elena eating?''.

Stefan thought for a while but he was almost never home, let alone in the mornings. He liked to go out until the sun came back up, it was the prettiest time of the day. He just shrugged and closed the fridge. ''I never cook for Elena. Elijah does all the …. 'caring' stuff . ''
''What do you do?'' Willow asked, as she took some eggs out the fridge and cracked them open.
''I do nothing. Ask my brothers.'' Stefan sat back down with a sigh and put his head in his hands.
''I don't believe it.'' She had managed to somehow cook pancakes while they were talking.
''You were the one who protected her when those guys bothered me and Elena. You were the one who took her to a party, something she's never allowed to do. You made sure she could invite friends over. You are also the only one who has managed to see her since she's been missing.'' Willow took a bite of her pancake. ''That's not nothing.''
''I only invited Jenna so I could hook up with her. It had nothing to do with Elena.'' Stefan simply stated. ''Hm-mm'' was Willow's answer. ''Where are the other vampires?''
Stefan just shrugged. ''Should we tell them?''
''Tell them what?''
''That we spoke to Elena.''
''Why not?''
''I don't know.''
Willow moved from the counter to the table Stefan was sitting at and took a seat beside him.
''What are you so worried about?''
''It's just, what if they get mad that I didn't take her with us the moment we saw her? They still think she's kidnapped but it doesn't seem like that. What if they find out she's actually been having fun over there and has decided to stay? Elijah wouldn't be able to cope.''
Willow didn't know what to answer. She kind of felt the same and wouldn't like it as well if Elena wouldn't return.
''If whatever Elena decides to do, makes her happy, then it will make your siblings happy too, won't it?''

Their conversation was interrupted by Damon, who kicked the door in while carrying a body. Willow gasped and stared in shock. ''Look what I've caught!'' Damon threw the body on the floor and looked satisfied. Stefan just raised his eyebrows. ''Why … Wait, I recognize that smell.'' He stood up to get a closer look. It was the wolf from last night. Behind him, he heard Willow coming closer but he quickly pushed her backwards. Right then, Rebekah walked in. ''What's this? Stefan, I have told you a thousand times not to-''
''Actually, it was me.'' Damon said. He poured himself a glass of blood before tapping the boy on the ground with his foot.
''I smell a wolf.'' Klaus walked in as well and saw the body. He grinned. ''Oh Stefan, what did you-''
''It wasn't me!'' Stefan almost shouted. A tug at his elbow made him aware of Willow still standing behind him. ''Is he … alive?'' she asked and it that moment, she saw the face of the wolf lying there. She gasped and looked bewildered from Stefan to Damon. ''That's K-'' but before she could say anything more, Stefan quickly grabbed her and sped out of the house, into the woods. ''Remember we weren't going to say anything?''
''But it's Elena's friend!'' She shouted. How could he let this happen?
''Who's Elena's friend?'' Damon was walking towards them. Stefan just sighed. Why was everything always so complicated?
''You know what this means! One of them must've crossed the line.'' Willow now turned to Damon.
''Where did you find him?''
''Somewhere in the woods.'' Damon said. ''Does it matter?''
''We have to go.'' Willow's brain was spinning so fast she could barely follow her own thoughts. So she didn't even bother explaining her plan to the others. ''Stefan, go back to where we-'' She stopped and thought for a second, ''where we met up this night.'' Willow decided not to tell Elena's brothers about meeting her and judging by the subtle nod Stefan gave her, he followed that decision. '' Go and see if anything has happened.'' Right before Stefan left, Willow quickly added, ''Be careful.'' She thought for a quick moment she saw him smile but wasn't sure as he quickly left. ''Damon, I need to talk to that wolf you brought with you. Can you fix him up?''
''What's going on?'' Damon asked. ''Do you know him?''
''Damon, trust me. We need that wolf. Fix him!'' Willow couldn't believe she was bossing around vampires as if she did it every day. And she also couldn't believe they listened to her. Damon went back inside, she assumed to try to wake up Keenai. It would probably take him a while so she called her mother. It went straight to voicemail. Willow hoped her mother hadn't noticed the border being passed but the chances were slim. Willow was cursing at herself for not knowing more spells when Stefan came back. ''There was no one. I don't even know if they realised somebody crossed.''

''It'll probably depend on who crossed.'' Willow sighed. She could only guess but knew nothing for sure. It was then she heard Damon calling. ''He's awake!''

Elena

''Elena!'' Keenai's mom shouted. I turned around and saw her running towards me.
''Have you seen Keenai?'' She asked. Her hair was loosely bound in a ponytail, strands sticking out and she didn't have any make up on. She was also still in her pyjama's. ''No, why?'' I asked as I put away the shovel. I'd been planting new herbs in Annabelle's garden and hadn't spoken to Keenai since the day before, when he ran away from me and Stefan. ''It's probably nothing but he went out to get us some berries and hasn't returned.'' She folded her bare arms and seemed to only realise now she hadn't been wearing any clothes. ''If you do see him, tell him to come home straight away, please?''

I nodded and watched her leave, shivering from a cold wind. I put away all the gardening tools, satisfied with my work and took a long shower. Time flew by and I hadn't been alone as much as that day. But I still had a lot of questions and unsolved business with a couple of the wolves. So I decided to look for Rob since he seemed the most reasonable wolf to talk to. I eventually found him, swimming with Dani. But from the moment she saw me, she climbed out of the water, grabbed a towel and walked straight past me. I sighed and let it go. Rob also came out, even though I said he didn't have to. ''What's up little one?''
''The other night, when you … when Jake … ''The truth was, I didn't know what had happened. Jake had kissed me, even after I asked him to stop. It was so unlike him and there must be an explanation. If only I could ask Jake himself but I didn't know how to. ''Ah, yes. I was wondering when we'd have this conversation.'' Rob put his clothes on and threw his towel over a branch. ''Do you know much about wolves?'' He asked. I shook my head. I hadn't even known they existed until I met Jake. ''We have a high level of testosterone, even more than other teenage boys. It makes us very impulsive and energetic. Some of the consequences are that we can be very jealous, easily irritated and well something else too, which you saw on Jake.'' I frowned as I tried to get what he meant with that last bit. ''You mean-'' I started but didn't finish because Rob interrupted. ''Yes, that's exactly what I mean.'' We were walking back to Rob's house. ''Jake has it even harder than we do, most of the time. He hasn't learned how to control It properly.''
''But why is it harder for him? Can no one help him?''
''Why do some teenagers get more zits than others? It's a different experience for everyone.''
''I don't get it. He seemed another person, his eyes … '' I thought about how I hadn't even recognized his eyes yesterday, they had seemed so different.
''I must admit, I've never seen anyone having such difficulties with being a wolf as Jake. But don't ask me to explain it, because I can't. I don't think even Jake can.''
''Thank you.'' I said. I wanted to finish the conversation, it became too much.
''Anytime.'' Rob quickly ruffled my hair and held the front door open. As I entered, I the whole family was sitting at the table, including Dani. But when she saw me, she sighed. As she tried to stand up, Rob pushed her back down and whispered something in her ear. She gave me a mad glare but didn't stand back up. It was the first meal I had shared with the whole family being present. If only I had known how that night would turn out.
