The next day, Freddie walked into the Shay's apartment. He had taken the previous day to try and clear his head from the break-up, and while he felt a little bit better, he felt far from being back to his normal self. But he knew there was no way the teens could afford to lose two days of iCarly rehearsal, so he decided he would just have to find a way to get through the day.

When he stepped into the apartment, though, he saw Sam laying on the couch, fast asleep.

Freddie couldn't help but smile at how peaceful she looked lying there.

She's probably dreaming of fried chicken and ribs, her favorite, Freddie thought to himself. Wow…she looks so cute and happy when she's asleep… He quickly shook his head. No. He had to get those thoughts out of his head.

He was about to head upstairs to see if Carly was already in the studio setting up when he noticed that the necklace he had given to Carly to give to Sam was around the blonde's neck.

Good, she got it, Freddie thought. I hope she liked it…Man, it really looks good on her…

Freddie shook his head again and turned and hurried upstairs. He couldn't sit around and drool over his sleeping ex-girlfriend; he was fairly certain that that was going to do nothing to help him feel better.

When he reached the iCarly studio, he found that Carly was not up there. He looked down at his phone and saw that he had an unopened text from her.

Hey, be back for iCarly rehearsal in a few; had to go and buy more peanut butter for our English Circus Clown bit, the message read.

"Guess I'll get started setting up the green screen then," Freddie said, stepping over to his tech cart. He had just begun fiddling with his cameras when he heard the studio door open behind him. Figuring it was Carly, he looked over his shoulder, but was surprised to see Sam standing in the doorway instead.

"Oh, um, thought you were Carly," Sam said, rubbing her eyes.

"I thought you were Carly," Freddie replied. "But, um, she should be back soon. She just ran out to-"

"-Get more peanut butter, yeah," Sam nodded. "I, um, saw the text too."

"Ah…cool," Freddie said awkwardly. This was the first time he had seen Sam since they parted ways after their break-up. "So…how are you?"

"Tired," Sam shrugged. "I slept over last night but Carly kept me up the whole night trying to get me to do 'Girl Talk' with her. It was a nightmare."

Freddie gave a small chuckle. "I bet."

The two were silent for a moment.

"What about you?" Sam finally asked. "Are you good? Or, um, as good as a nub like you can be, at least?"

"Yeah, I-I'm doing good," Freddie nodded. "I finally found my favorite blue pen this morning so, um, there's that. It was behind my-"

"-Bookshelf, yeah," Sam said, giving him a sheepish grin. "I hid it there last time I was in your room."

"You hid my pen?"

"Yeah, um, you were being all boring doing your homework and I wanted you to pay attention to me," Sam mumbled. "Um, sorry though."

"No, it's fine," Freddie smiled. "I remember that day now, actually. We wound up having a pretty good time once I got away from my work. Remember? We spent the night watching the worst movies we could find on Getflix?"

"Yeah," Sam chuckled. "What is it about terrible movies that make them so enjoyable? Carly doesn't get it."

"They're fun to make fun of and critique, I guess," Freddie shrugged.

"Yeah, I guess," Sam nodded, and the awkward silence appeared again.

"Hey, um, I-I just gotta ask," Freddie finally blurted out. "Are things gonna be, um, weird between us now?"

"Things were always weird between us," Sam pointed. "We've never exactly had a normal relationship…"

"I know, but, um, it's just now that we, er, broke up and all-"

"Relax, I know what you mean," Sam said. She looked down at her feet. "Well…despite what I'm going to tell people, the break up was mutual and all so it's not like there's any hard feelings, right?"

"Right," Freddie nodded. "We both agreed that we were just too different to have a relationship."

"Exactly, so since we both agreed that breaking up was the best thing to do, then it shouldn't be weird," Sam said simply. "We'll just go back to how we were before. You'll be an annoying nub who's occasionally not completely terrible to hang around, and I'll go back to keeping your geekiness to a limit with my butter sock. Easy."

"Easy," Freddie repeated, trying hard to sound convinced.

"Okay, well…that's settled," Sam said, clearing her throat. "Cool. So, um, you keep doing your tech junk up here and I'll go try and get a few more minutes of napping in before Carly comes back and makes me work."

"Sounds like a plan," Freddie grinned.

Sam turned to head out of the studio, but before she did, she stopped and looked back at Freddie.

"Thanks for the necklace, by the way," she said.

Freddie frowned. "N-Necklace? No, um, that-that was from Carly."

Sam rolled her eyes as she looked down at the piece of jewelry hanging around her neck. "Nice try. But it has a certain nubbish touch to it."

"What-What?"

"Well that and you got it engraved," Sam admitted.

Dang it! I forgot all about that! Freddie thought to himself.

"But, um, seriously, I really like it," Sam said, her face flushing red slightly. "So…thanks."

"Um, you're welcome," Freddie said. "I know it's kind of, um…See I was going to give it to you when we were still…But then we…I just wanted you to have it."

Sam smiled. "This stuttering is why we keep you behind the camera, you know."

"Noted," Freddie sighed.

"Well…see you," Sam said.

"See you," Freddie said.

He watched as Sam headed out of the studio before turning back to the green screen.

"Yeah…this is gonna be real easy alright," he sighed, shaking his head.
