The Changing Destinies Series: Timeline of Events
3013
APRIL:
-Erin appears in Middle-Earth in an unknown region of Eriador. She spends three days in the wilderness alone.
-She encounters a band of [[Dunedaín]] (- are they actually ALL Dunedain, or just Aragorn?) rangers, meeting Halbarad, Aragorn, and Álarcon. The rangers offer to escort Erin to Rivendell, which she graciously accepts.
-Erin learns that Álarcon is actually Legolas in disguise. She confronts the elf about this, though promises not to reveal his secret. In an attempt to gain his trust, Erin tells Legolas everything about her true origins, including her knowledge of Tolkien's works and future events.
-The Dunedaín arrive on the outskirts of Rivendell, and Aragorn takes Erin to meet Lord Elrond.
-Erin meets Elladan, Elrohir, Elrond, and Arwen, and decides to remain in Rivendell for awhile.
MAY:
-Erin begins to train herself in swordplay. The twins offer to help instruct her.
OCTOBER:
-A feast is held in Rivendell, and Elladan invites Erin to be his personal guest to the banquet. Erin agrees, but is later woken in the middle of the night by a drunk Elladan intending to sleep with her. Erin frantically explains that she's asexual, turning him down. Elladan's pride is wounded, and he becomes angry and resentful towards Erin.
-Erin leaves Rivendell to return to Aragorn and the other rangers.
NOVEMBER:
-Erin locates Aragorn near the borders of the Shire, and learns that Legolas has set out for Gundabad, intending to confront and learn more of his past. Erin immediately leaves to chase the elf down, against Aragorn's protests.
-Erin is attacked by a pack of Orcs, but is saved by Legolas. He's impressed by her determination to find him, and agrees to let her accompany him for the rest of their journey.
-Kathryn arrives in Middle-Earth near the borders of Lothlórien and is discovered by the elves. She is taken to Caras Galadhon, spending time there as a guest.
-Legolas continues to train Erin in swordplay, archery and speaking elvish. The two begin to develop a close friendship and gain trust in one another.
DECEMBER:
-Erin and Legolas arrive in Gundabad. Legolas further explains to Erin the reason for his self-exile and distance from Thranduil, and Erin begins to take interest in rectifying their relationship.
-Legolas resigns himself to return to the other rangers. Erin tells him that she wishes to visit Lothlórien, and they say their goodbyes, though she instead turns toward Thranduil's kingdom in secret.
-Erin begins her journey into Mirkwood. She is captured by a group of woodland elves and brought before Thranduil for interrogation. She informs the king of Legolas' whereabouts, and promises Thranduil she will return his son to the Woodland Realm. Thranduil releases her unharmed, and Erin immediately departs to find Legolas again.
3014
JANUARY:
-Erin arrives in Lothlórien and goes to Caras Galadhon, only to discover Kathryn has taken up residence there. The two are happily reunited, and Erin decides to remain in Lothlórien with Kathryn for awhile.
-Kathryn turns twenty years old.
MARCH:
-Erin turns twenty years old.
APRIL:
-Erin and Kathryn celebrate Erin's one year anniversary in Middle-Earth. Erin also decides she is ready to pursue Legolas again, and Kathryn offers to join her in her quest. The two set out for Rivendell.
MAY:
-Erin and Kathryn arrive in Rivendell. Upon her return, Erin discovers that Elladan's bitterness over their previous encounter has only grown. Elladan immediately sets his sights on Kathryn, but then learns of Kathryn's bisexuality, disgusted by this and spreading hateful gossip all over Rivendell.
-Kathryn faces extreme discrimination and scorn, and Erin is furious. Knowing Rivendell is no longer a safe place for them, they quickly depart Rivendell in secret.
JUNE:
-Erin and Kathryn return to Lothlórien. Kathryn stays behind while Erin ventures out again in search of Legolas.
AUGUST:
-Erin arrives at the borders of the Shire, finding Legolas and the others there. She tells the elf of her interaction with his father, but Legolas becomes angry with her for revealing his location to Thranduil. He refuses to leave for Mirkwood, feeling betrayed.
SEPTEMBER:
-Erin confides in Aragorn about her mistake with Legolas. She learns that the rangers have also been given strict orders by Gandalf to keep a close eye on the Shire. Aragorn reveals the beginnings of a conspiracy concerning the seven palantíri scattered across Arda.

JANUARY:
-Kathryn turns twenty-one years old.
MARCH:
-Erin turns twenty-one years old.
APRIL:
-Halbarad, Aragorn, and Gandalf meet in secret, the rangers returning with more information about the alleged misuse of the palantíri. Aragorn and three others are given a mission to locate the three active stones and ensure their safety, but Aragorn declines the assignment. Legolas offers to go in his stead, to which Erin insists that she join them.
-Erin, Legolas, and the others leave the Shire to locate each seeing stone. Erin tries to tell them of one which she knows is within Sauron's possession, but they ignore her. They agree to travel to Tower Hills and find the stone of Elostirion.
MAY:
-The ranger's company arrives in Tower Hills to discover that the Elostirion stone is missing. Legolas commands the other three men to continue searching for the final stone in the south. He and Erin return to the rest of the Dunedaín and report their findings. Erin is deeply troubled by this discovery.
OCTOBER:
-Galadriel leads Kathryn to look into her Mirror for guidance regarding her purpose. Kathryn sees glimpses of various things connected to Rohan, including an image foreshadowing Kaia's future arrival at Edoras. For some time, Kathryn is unsure whether or not to act on her vision.
-Gandalf returns with more information concerning the palantír, confirming that the Elostirion stone was stolen. Erin becomes determined to get to the bottom of the mystery. She devises a plan to go searching for the final seeing stone, and Aragorn persuades Legolas to go with her.
NOVEMBER:
-Erin and Legolas leave the Dunedaín to search for the missing palantir.
-Kathryn decides to leave for Edoras in the spring. She spends her remaining time in Lothlórien preparing for her journey.
3016
JANUARY:
-Kathryn turns twenty-two years old.
MARCH:
-Erin turns twenty-two years old.
APRIL:
-Kathryn leaves for Edoras.
JUNE:
-Erin and Legolas are attacked by an Easterling assassin at an inn in Fornost. He nearly kills Erin, but is stopped by Legolas.
JULY:
-Kathryn comes to Edoras. She finds work as a stable-hand, eventually ending up as an attendant to the royal stables of Meduseld. She holds the position for months, awaiting Kaia's arrival.
OCTOBER:
-Kathryn meets Theodred for the first time, and they quickly begin to develop a close friendship.
DECEMBER:
-Gríma Wormtongue comes to Edoras. Theodred immediately dislikes and distrusts him.

JANUARY:
-Théoden begins to succumb to Saruman's poisoning through Wormtongue.
-Kathryn turns twenty-three years old.
-Erin continues to urge Legolas to reconsider returning home someday.
-Theodred begins to guess at Wormtongue's foul intentions and confides in Kathryn, asking her to help him expel the man from Edoras.
MARCH:
-Erin turns twenty-three years old.
APRIL:
-Kathryn beings to feel an obligation to save Theodred's life, knowing of his future death at the hands of the Uruk-Hai. She feels drawn to warn him, but fears that his survival could cause a radical shift in the plot of the overarching story to come.
AUGUST:
-Kathryn finally reveals her true origins to Theodred. Unbeknownst to both of them, Wormtongue overhears the conversation.
SEPTEMBER:
-Wormtongue leaves Edoras to inform Saruman of Kathryn's existence. During this time, Theodred brings Kathryn, Éomer, and Éowyn into counsel with him, and the four of them form an alliance to prevent Wormtongue from taking control of Edoras.
-Theodred tries to reason with his father and have Wormtongue banished from Rohan, but Théoden rejects his proposal. This worries Theodred, and again he seeks out Kathryn for advice. Kathryn continues to struggle with her own conscience, unable to decide whether or not she should use her knowledge of future events to save Théoden and Theodred.
OCTOBER:
-Wormtongue returns to Edoras and is welcomed by Théoden, to the dismay of Kathryn and the others.
-Kathryn is offered a job as a servant in Meduseld's great hall, and Theodred urges her to take it so that she can be under his protection at all times. Kathryn accepts the position, not knowing it was orchestrated by Wormtongue so that he too could keep a close eye on her.
-Erin and Legolas are attacked by a pack of Wild Men near the Swanfleet. They dispatch the men easily, but upon searching them for anything of value, Erin finds the necklace of Tauriel. She is shocked by this discovery, believing it to be a sign of Tauriel's death, but at first says nothing to Legolas, choosing to keep the necklace for herself.
NOVEMBER:
-Kathryn is assaulted by Wormtongue in the middle of the night in an attempt to force information out of her. Éomer intervenes and saves her, but she is shaken. Theodred is furious over the incident.
-Erin eventually reveals her discovery of Tauriel's necklace to Legolas. He is saddened by the discovery, explaining to Erin its significance as a physical reminder of the bond he and Tauriel had. In the end, Legolas gives it to Erin as a token of their friendship, although he notes that it feels wrong to call it 'friendship,' but does not know why.
3018
JANUARY:
-Kathryn turns twenty-four years old.
MARCH:
-Erin turns twenty-four years old.
-One evening, Éowyn comes to Theodred and Kathryn nearly in tears after an assault from Gríma. Theodred is outraged, accusing Gríma of his crimes before his father and the entire court. Gríma, however, is able to swiftly deny the accusations, and Theodred is very nearly accused of treason, spared only by the grace of his father.
MAY:
-While in a forested area of Eriador, Legolas takes Erin into the trees to watch a brilliant sunset together. In this moment, Erin sees Legolas in a new light, realizing that she's begun to develop deeper feelings for the elf.
-Orcs bred by Saruman are sent out to attack different areas of Rohan, and Éomer and Theodred are constantly called to battle to protect their lands.
JUNE:
-Word comes to Rohan that Elrond has asked a representative to be sent to Rivendell for a meeting of utmost importance and secrecy. Kathryn realizes this is the Council of Elrond, and is unsure of whether or not to ride to Rivendell to seek out Erin for this event.
JULY:
-After much convincing, Legolas finally agrees to return to Mirkwood with Erin and be reunited with his father. As they are about to begin their journey east, however, they are intercepted by Glorfindel, who says Lord Elrond has summoned Legolas to Rivendell for the Council of Elrond. Legolas is skeptical, and is prepared to continue on toward Mirkwood instead, but Erin knows that his involvement in the upcoming war will be crucial and encourages him to forego this in favor of the Council. After some persuasion, Legolas agrees, asking Erin to come with him. She accepts, and together they depart for Rivendell.
-Kaia arrives in Middle-Earth near Edoras. She is taken to Meduseld, and Kathryn learns of her arrival through Theodred as Kaia is brought before the king for questioning. She rushes to intercept her immediately, stopping Kaia from revealing her origins to the entire court.
-Kathryn later tells Kaia of Erin's existence in Middle-Earth as well, and explains to Kaia that Edoras is no longer safe due to Wormtongue's knowledge of their origins. They quickly make plans to leave Rohan as soon as possible.
-Kaia leaves Edoras with Éomer acting as her escort. She is sent to Lothlórien by Kathryn.
-Kathryn leaves Edoras for Rivendell, hoping to find Erin there to tell her of Kaia's arrival. She says her final goodbyes to Theodred, choosing to say nothing to him of his inevitable fate.
SEPTEMBER:
-Kaia arrives in Lothlórien.
OCTOBER:
-Erin and Legolas arrive in Rivendell.
-Kathryn arrives in Rivendell and is reunited with Erin. She meets Legolas for the first time.
-Erin asks Elrond to allow her and Kathryn seats on the Council, which she plans to use as an opportunity to join the Fellowship. Elrond denies her request, however, and she enlists both Kathryn and Legolas to help form an alternate plan.
-Kathryn meets Boromir in one of Rivendell's great libraries.
-Erin and Kathryn are both present for the Council of Elrond. At the formation of the Fellowship, both women volunteer to join the quest, but this causes much controversy and a vote is taken from those already in the company. In the end, Merry and Pippin are the deciding votes, with both of them voting in favor of having the two added to the Fellowship. Erin and Kathryn are made official members, and the meeting is adjourned, but tensions remain high amongst the group.
-Although voting in favor of Erin's addition to the Fellowship, Legolas worries for her safety should she embark on such a dangerous journey. He then begins to question himself, not fully understanding the root of his concern. It occurs to him then that his feelings for Erin may run deeper than that of friendship, but he refuses to fully admit to this.
-Elladan becomes deeply jealous of Erin and Legolas' closeness and threatens the Mirkwood prince. Legolas denies anything more than friendship between the two of them, though still angered by Elladan's words.
NOVEMBER:
-The Fellowship sets out from Rivendell and begins the quest to destroy the One Ring.
-Kaia turns twenty-four years old.
-Boromir and Kathryn develop a comfortable friendship.
DECEMBER:
-As their journey progresses, Legolas begins to realize the extent of his affections for Erin, which deeply concerns him.
-The Fellowship passes through Hollin, soon after intercepted by Crebain acting as spies for Saruman.
-Kathryn begins to feel the effects of the Ring as it preys on her regret of leaving Theodred behind.
-The Fellowship's attempt to pass over Caradhras is unsuccessful, and they turn towards Moria. Boromir begins to succumb to the Ring.
-They arrive at the Moria Gate. At one point, while in deep conversation, Legolas nearly kisses Erin, later growing furious with himself for being so careless. He begins to distance himself without explanation.
-The Watcher in the Water appears and attacks the company. The Fellowship is trapped within Moria and forced to pass through the mines. Battle of Balin's Tomb, rise of the Balrog, and fall of Gandalf. The Fellowship escapes the mines and turn towards Lothlórien.
-They arrive in Lothlórien on Christmas Day. Kaia is reunited with Erin and Kathryn at dusk, and is introduced to the others within the Fellowship.
-The Ring continues to manipulate Kathryn, urging her to save Boromir's life and suggesting he is right for wanting the Ring to go to Minas Tirith. Kathryn's resolve weakens.
-Not long after settling in, Erin pulls Legolas aside and demands an explanation for his strange actions. They begin to argue, and at its climax Legolas suddenly grows impatient and cuts Erin off by kissing her. When they separate, they discuss things further and reveal their true feelings to one another, eventually deciding to pursue a relationship.
-Kathryn grows frustrated with Erin for her lack of empathy over Boromir's fate, which she has now also grown to fear.
3019
JANUARY:
-Kathryn turns twenty-five years old.
-The trio considers and discussed the possibilities of returning to their home world.
-Kaia looks into the Mirror of Galadriel. She sees glimpses of the future, and learns that Erin will eventually make a mistake sentencing Aragorn to certain death at the hands of the Witch-King of Angmar. She witnesses herself standing between Aragorn and the Witch-King to defend him, although this action results in her own death. Galadriel explains that without her sacrifice, Aragorn will die and all hope for the future of Men will be lost. Kaia, understanding the gravity of the situation, accepts this task and vows to protect Aragorn from harm.
-Gandalf is revived.
-Kaia joins the Fellowship of the Ring.
-The Ring begins to enstill paranoia in Kaia, knowing that Erin will be the cause of her demise.
FEBRUARY:
-Elladan arrives in Lothlórien on an errand for his father. He seeks out Erin to taunt her, confronted by both her and Legolas. Elladan becomes furious upon discovering their newly established relationship and decides to remain in Lothlórien with them, seeking vengeance.
-Boromir tells Kathryn of the precarious state of Gondor and his own family, revealing how deeply he worries for his brother Faramir's safety.
-The Fellowship prepares to leave Lothlórien and recieves their gifts from Galadriel. Just as they are about to depart, Elladan reveals to Erin that he's informed Thranduil of her relationship with Legolas and her part in convincing him to abandon his home for the sake of the quest. Erin is furious, knowing this will have severe repercussions for both Legolas and herself later on. Knowing she can do nothing, she parts with Elladan on ill terms.
-Kathryn and Erin continue to argue over Boromir's fate.
-The Fellowship comes to the Falls of Rauros. Kathryn attacks Erin under the Ring's influence. The Uruk-Hai attack, killing Boromir and Merry. As he dies, Boromir gives Kathryn his dagger, asking her to find Faramir and ensure the Ring does not come to Minas Tirith. In a panic, Kaia throws herself into captivity with Pippin to take Merry's place. Frodo and Sam continue on their own. Kathryn, Erin, Legolas, Gimli, and Aragorn chase after the remaining Uruks.
MARCH:
-Theodred is gravely wounded in a battle at the Fords of Isen.
-The five continue to pursue the Uruk-Hai.
-Kathryn struggles with whether or not to accept the task given to her by Boromir.
-Theodred is found and returned to Edoras by Éomer. Éomer reveals proof that Saruman intends to destroy Rohan, but is banished.
-Erin turns twenty-five years old.
-Éomer and his men ambush the band of Uruk-Hai holding Kaia and Pippin captive. The two escape into Fangorn, but are followed. Kaia, seeing an opportunity to gain insight into their enemy's plans, allows Pippin an opening to escape as she engages the Uruk-Hai and allows herself to be recaptured. Kaia continues on to Orthanc and Pippin disappears further into Fangorn.
-The five meet the Rohirrim, and Éomer reveals the alleged fate of Kaia and Pippin. He is shocked to see Kathryn among them, and she is equally as shocked to see him so far from Edoras. Éomer explains the decline of Edoras, Saruman's increasing hold over Rohan, and Theodred's ill state.
-The five go into Fangorn to find Kaia and Pippin.
-They meet the newly reborn Gandalf the White. Gandalf gives concerning information to Legolas about his homeland, believing the Woodland Realm may be attacked by Sauron's forces in the near future. This deeply concerns Legolas. Erin and Kathryn learn that Kaia seemingly vanished, fearing for her life.
-The group sets out for Edoras.
APRIL:
-Theodred dies of his wounds.
-Legolas tells Erin of Gandalf's news, revealing that he is now considering leaving the Fellowship to return home and fight in defense of the Woodland Realm. Erin panics, demanding that he stay, and Legolas grows angry with her
-Kaia arrives at Orthanc and is imprisoned by Saruman. She suffers physical and psychological torture as the wizard attempts to extract information from her.
-The company comes to Edoras, and Théoden is healed. Kathryn discovers Theodred is dead and is devastated by the loss.
-Funeral of Theodred.
-Saruman discovers that Erin and Kathryn are in Rohan. He sends out his Warg riders to attack the people of Edoras, and with them, a Haradrim assassin to target Erin, Legolas, and Aragorn.
-The king orders for Edoras to be emptied.
-Erin convinces Legolas to wait for four more days before leaving, knowing the Wargs will attack in that time and believing that the attack will convince him of the severity of the situation so he'll stay. She says nothing to him of Aragorn's fall.
-Kathryn explains to Erin the task given to her by Boromir upon his death and reveals she's decided to go seek out Faramir on her own. The two say their goodbyes, and Kathryn leaves for Ithilien.
MAY:
-The company leaves Edoras for Helm's Deep.
-Kaia looks into the palantír of Orthanc and sees horrifying visions of the future.
-The Wargs attack, and there is a second assassination attempt on Erin. She overpowers him, but is shocked upon realizing he is from Harad. Legolas is also attacked by the assassin and is cut by a poisoned blade. Aragorn falls from the cliff as the battle draws to a close. Legolas is deeply hurt by the loss, realizing that Erin had known of this all along and not warned him. He is furious with her and puts an end to their relationship. Erin is crushed by the consequences of her mistake.
-Saruman reveals to Kaia his creation of a chemical fire capable of melting through steel and his plans to use it in the upcoming war. Kaia fears for the safety of the others, helpless and unable to warn them of the Blue Fire and its destruction.
-Erin realizes that the missing palantír from Elostirion was taken by the Haradrim and Easterlings, used in communication with Sauron to rally their armies to his cause in the final war for Middle-Earth.
-The remainder of the company comes to Helm's Deep.
-Legolas' wound becomes infected, and he falls unconscious as the poison slowly begins to drain his life.
-Kathryn arrives in Ithilien and begins to search for Faramir. During her travels, she sees a glimpse of the Easterling and Haradrim armies marching towards Mordor.
-Kathryn is captured by rangers and taken to Henneth Annûn, where she meets Faramir and is reunited with Frodo and Sam. Kathryn tries to convince Faramir not to take the Ring to Denethor, but he refuses her.
-Aragorn arrives at Helm's Deep, having sustained his fall, and warns the king of the impending battle with the Uruk-Hai. Erin tells Aragorn of Legolas' condition, but he fears Legolas may already be lost. Erin is horrified at the idea of losing him and also fears what could go wrong in battle if Legolas is not there to fight.
-Haldir and the elves of Lothlórien come to Helm's Deep, along with unexpected reinforcements from Rivendell, and Erin is shocked to see the arrival of Elrohir and Elladan with the army as well. Her old hatred for him is rekindled as he continues to aggravate and humiliate her at every turn.
-Although initially agreeing to go into the caves with Éowyn and the other women, Erin instead disguises herself and sneaks out onto the battlements to fight in Legolas' place.
-The Battle of Helm's Deep begins. Erin confronts Elladan in the midst of the chaos and is overcome with rage towards him. Elladan becomes overwhelmed by the Uruk-Hai as they fight each other. Realizing he cannot save himself, he begs Erin for help, but her anger consumes her so much that she does nothing, watching as he's killed by an Uruk and offering no help whatsoever.
-As Faramir and his men prepare to take the hobbits & Gollum to Osgiliath, Kathryn reveals the truth about what happened with Boromir, herself, and the Ring. Faramir still gives the order to prepare to leave, as he feels he must for the sake of his city, but is deeply shaken by the revelation and begins to second-guess his decision.
-Kaia escapes Orthanc as the Ents launch their attack on Isengard. She confronts and kills Wormtongue during her escape, and finds Pippin and Treebeard as she emerges from the tower.
-Kathryn leaves to return to Edoras in the middle of the night, knowing she can't continue on to Osgiliath with Faramir and the hobbits. As she slips out, she leaves Boromir's knife for Faramir in memory of his brother.
-The Battle of Helm's Deep ends as Gandalf and Éomer arrive with reinforcements, and Rohan is victorious.
-After the battle is over, Erin's choice to let Elladan die begins to weigh heavily on her.
-As Legolas heals, he and Aragorn are reunited, to the elf's great surprise.
-Legolas seeks out Erin to apologize for so harshly ignoring her, and Erin also apologizes for manipulating him. They agree to put it behind them, but due to both the repercussions Erin now deals with over Elladan's death and also the state of her own conscience, she questions whether or not a relationship is the right path for the two of them. Legolas agrees, and although heartbroken, they go their separate ways.
-Faramir releases Frodo and Sam to continue on with their quest.
-The Company leaves Helm's Deep to ride for Isengard.
JUNE:
-The Company arrives at Isengard. Erin and Kaia are reunited. Saruman warns them that one of the three women will not survive the War of the Ring. This troubles Erin and also deeply worries Legolas. Death of Saruman. Gandalf obtains the palantír.
-The others return to Edoras, and Kathryn meets them there. All three women discuss their recent experiences and what the future may hold for them. Erin grows worried over Saruman's foreboding words.
-Erin explains to Legolas and Aragorn about the assassin from Harad that attacked them during the Warg fight. She tells them what she knows about Sauron becoming allies with the Harad and the Easterlings, and the three of them agree that such information needs to be relayed to Gandalf and the other miltary leaders. They realize, however, that no one will believe her unless she could provide solid proof of the alliance, unable to reveal her knowledge of future events through her Earth origins.
JULY:
-A feast to commemorate the dead takes place.
-Pippin looks into the palantír. Erin sees a window of opportunity and also grabs the palantír, thinking she could lie about seeing the Easterling and Haradrim alliance with Sauron and use that to tell the others all she knows. Sauron completely overpowers her, however, infiltrating her own memories and seeing glimpses of the Battle of the Pelennor and his own eventual defeat. Her plan works, but at a terrible cost.
-Legolas is angry with Erin for her rash actions, knowing she won't be able to stay in Edoras any longer as a result. Erin defends herself, saying there was no other choice and that her priority is to help people as much as she can above all else.
-Erin says her goodbyes to Kaia and Kathryn, asking them to ensure the safety of both Legolas and themselves through the upcoming battle. Knowing this is the last time she'll ever see Erin, Kaia almost tells her about her mission and subsequent fate, but in the end keeps it hidden.
-Gandalf leaves for Minas Tirith, taking Pippin and Erin with him.
AUGUST:
-Gandalf, Pippin, and Erin arrive in Minas Tirith. They meet Denethor. Erin grows suspicious of the Steward after he suggests he somehow knows of her origins, remembering Kathryn's warning from Faramir of an evil presence taking root within the citadel.
-The Woodland Realm is attacked for the first time by the armies of Dol Guldur.
-The signal from Minas Morgul is seen in both Minas Tirith and Edoras. Kaia grows fearful as her demise draws closer, and Aragorn does his best to comfort her. Kathryn grows worried about Kaia.

-Faramir returns from Osgiliath, which is overrun. He meets Erin, who decides to intervene and keep him from riding out on a suicide mission under Denethor's orders.
SEPTEMBER:
-The Woodland Realm is attacked for the second time by the Orcs of Dol Guldur.
-The Rohirrim arrive at Dunharrow. Kaia and Kathryn argue over Kaia's secrecy and constant paranoia. Soon after, though, Kaia realizes she doesn't want to end things on bad terms with Kathryn, and approaches her again, revealing the full truth about her fate. Kathryn is heartbroken, but understands it cannot be changed. They part in friendship.
-Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Kaia head off for the Paths of the Dead.
-Kathryn and Éowyn ride out in secret alongside the Rohirrim as they depart Dunharrow.
-Erin sneaks into the Tower of Ecthelion alone one night, dousing the palantír hidden there in Blue Fire and setting it alight to destroy it. In the process, however, she becomes trapped in the room and cannot escape the explosion, which severely wounds and nearly kills her.
-Kaia, Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas take the Paths of the Dead.
-Erin awakes to discover her wounds have rendered her unable to bear children. Days later, she is hunted down and thrown into prison by Denethor.
-Minas Tirith is besieged. Erin escapes her cell and plunges into battle.
-The Rohirrim arrive at Minas Tirith.
-The Woodland Realm is attacked for the third and final time by the Orcs of Dol Guldur. The elves are victorious under Thranduil's command.
-The Battle of the Pelennor Fields takes place. Éowyn and Théoden slain by the Witch-King. Kathryn fights him and wounds him, driving him away, though she is gravely injured in the process. Éomer takes Kathryn into the city to the Houses of Healing. Kaia, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli bring the dead army to Minas Tirith. The Witch-King of Angmar attacks and nearly kills Aragorn, and Kaia throws herself into the Fell Beast's path to save him. Erin finds them just as Kaia is killed, devastated as she bleeds out and falls unconscious from her reopened wounds.
-Ater the battle, Legolas watches over Erin in her recovery, realizing that he loves her.
-Kathryn awakes in the Houses of Healing and meets Míriel as she recovers from her wounds. She is reunited with Faramir, and he thanks her for her loyalty to Boromir and honesty about his fall to the Ring.
-Kaia's ashes are buried in the Gardens of Minas Tirith. Erin and Kathryn grieve over her death.
-Legolas and Erin reconcile and confess that they do truly love each other, but are still hesitant and unsure whether or not to pursue a relationship again.
-The Last Debate takes place. Aragorn makes the decision to ride out and confront Sauron one final time at the Black Gate.
-Aragorn and Erin reconcile for the first time since Elladan's death.
-The Company rides out for Mordor.
OCTOBER:
-They arrive at the Morannon. Battle of the Black Gate. Kathryn faces the Witch-King of Angmar again and defeats him. The One Ring is destroyed, and Mordor collapses into ruin as Sauron is defeated.
-Gandalf rescues Frodo and Sam from within Mordor and takes them back to Minas Tirith.
NOVEMBER:
-The survivors return to Minas Tirith.
-Frodo and Sam awake, and the Fellowship of the Ring is reunited.

JANUARY:
-Kathryn turns twenty-six years old.
MARCH:
-Coronation of Aragorn.
-Erin turns twenty-six years old.
MAY:
-Wedding of Aragorn and Arwen.
JUNE:
-Legolas decides he is finally ready to return home, and asks Erin to come with him. She agrees, and they begin making plans to travel north.
-Erin tells Kathryn of her plans to leave with Legolas. Kathryn reveals her own plans to remain with Míriel in Minas Tirith for awhile. The two say their final goodbyes as they go their separate ways.
-Legolas and Erin leave for Greenwood.
SEPTEMBER:
-Erin and Legolas arrive in Greenwood and reach the Woodland Realm. Thranduil and Legolas are reunited after sixty-two years.
-Legolas readopts his position as Captain of the King's Guard and Prince of the Woodland Realm. Erin, knowing she cannot stay, leaves The Woodland Realm on her own. She makes Legolas promise not to seek her out unless he is ready to commit to her for the rest of their lives, along with the heavy price he would pay for doing so.
-Erin disappears into the Grey Mountains in the north and is seen by no one for over an entire year, retreating into complete solitude for a time.

-Erin returns to Minas Tirith to visit Kathryn. She later departs to venture deeper into Southern Gondor.
