This chapter takes place during 4x06, "Glease", and about two weeks after the last chapter.

Also, I may or may not have been sitting on this chapter for about two months as I suffered from writers block on the chapter after this. Woops.
That was basically my attempt at trying to have another one pre-written so that I might be able to have more frequent updates, but I failed. Pfft.
But like I've stated before; I've got plenty of plans for this fanfiction, incuding things to happen during the rest of season four, five, and even some things for season six; haha. That may or may not be a wee bit ambitious of me, but we'll see. I've been writing/typing my ideas, and I have a clear picture of what I want to have happen in this fanfiction in my head, so hang tight; because things are probably just starting to get good B)

Also, I have a poll that I started on my profile about which of my current stories you guys might possibly like the most/might be interested in seeing more of. Please be sure to vote and let me know, because I'm honestly curious!

However, an important note is that this chapter is where this fanfiction starts to be a little bit of an AU of the events on the show. (At least, Season four, anyway; and a little bit of season five; but you'll see what I mean)

07: Glease

Dana let out a sigh as she sat beside one of the makeup stations backstage. She was listening to her fellow glee clubbers as they practiced and tried on their costumes. She heard Tina talking to Sugar and Brittany about their costumes, when she heard Marley struggling. She looked at her. "Are you alright Marley?"

"I...I don't know what's wrong with this...it fit me just fine yesterday!" she stated worriedly. Dana let out a breath, before smiling. "Oh, someone must have altered it or something. Here, lemme fix it for you." she stated, urging Marley to walk closer to her; ignoring the sight of Kitty frowning in her direction. When Marley's back was turned, Dana smiled sweetly at her and flipped her the bird, chuckling when Kitty's jaw dropped.

Dana grabbed the sewing kit from the top of the makeup station and smiled. "Alrighty, let's fix this!" she stated. "Thank you so much Dana, I really appreciate this." Marley said, letting out a breath. "It's no problem Marley; fixing something like this is really simple." Dana stated, focusing as she tried not to accidentally prick Marley with the needle.

"Alrighty girlies, I want to make friends with some of you so...I'm going to have a sleepover. This Friday." Kitty stated proudly. Dana scoffed. "Count me out." she stated. "Aw, why not Dana?" Tina asked. "I don't really want to? Besides; I have something else I want to do instead." Dana stated, smiling as she finished fixing the hem of Marley's skirt. "There you go Marley; that should be much better now."

Marley smiled and turned around, hugging Dana, and Dana returned the hug. "Thank you so much!" she stated happily. "Now, I'm going to keep some of your costumes locked up. Just so that we don't have to worry about this happening again." Dana said. Marley chuckled. "I don't think you need to worry about it, it should be fine." Tina stated. Dana looked at her and raised an eyebrow. "I'm at least keeping her skirt in my locker until dress rehearsals. We can't afford for someone to try to do this again that close to performance."

As the girls packed up their things, Marley stopped Dana from leaving. "Dana, can I talk to you?" she asked. "What's up Marls?" Dana asked. "Are you sure you can't go to the sleepover?" Marley asked.

Dana sighed and smiled. "I honestly don't want to; besides, Sam and I have plans with the guys, and I'm really looking forward to them." she said softly. "Oh...okay. I just...really wish you were going to be there, you know?" Marley said, chuckling. Dana set her hand on Marley's shoulder. "Look Marls. Go to the sleepover, and try to have fun, alright? But if you feel even the slightest bit uncomfortable, call or text me, and Sam and I will go and get you and you can hang out with us, okay?"

"I-I don't know Dana...are you really sure that'd be okay?" Marley asked. "Of course it would be Marley. We're your friends. Besides; it's kind of a gaming slash hang out night with some of the guys, and I'm sure they'd love to have you cheer them on. Or, in one case, watch me kick their sorry butts." Dana stated. Marley laughed and smiled. "Alright, I'll remember that." Marley said, hugging Dana. "Thank you."

Dana smiled and returned the hug with a chuckle. "No problem, Marls."

Dana let out a breath as she opened her locker; putting away her English and Chemistry textbooks. She felt arms wrap around her and a chin on her shoulder and she smiled. She turned and kissed Sam's cheek. "Hey there." she stated, turning to face him as he held onto her. Sam kissed Dana's nose, smiling. "Hey there."

"So...have you thought about the idea I proposed to you?" Dana asked, reaching to close her locker. "What, do you mean meeting your cousin?" Sam asked. "Well; I think you've already met him; he's in the Warblers, and was in it with Blaine." Dana stated. "You said his name was Jeff, right?" Sam asked. Dana nodded. "Jeff Sterling; and the thing I asked you, was if you wanted to have lunch with him on Saturday. That should give us plenty of time to sleep in after staying up all night with the guys and possibly Marley."

Sam nodded. "Sounds like a plan. I can't wait to get to know him some more." Sam stated. Dana chuckled. "Good; because him and I have gotten closer after Blaine gave me his number a couple of months ago, and he's become a brother to me. Besides; he and his family are really...my only blood relatives in the area. Them liking you would mean a lot to me." she said, smiling a lopsided smile.

"Hey lovebirds!"

Dana peeked behind Sam's shoulder; just as two familiar people, each tossed a slushie at them. Sam took most of the hit; seeing as his back was to them; but Dana immediately let out a squeak of surprize. "Haha; that's what you two loser lovebirds get!"

Dana pulled away from Sam and marched up to the taller one of the two, and before he could do anything, she drew her arm back, and punched his nose.

He let out a howl of pain as Tina, Marley and Unique pulled Dana into the girl's locker room, and Blaine, Ryder and Artie pulled Sam into the boy's locker room.

"I can't believe that you punched him!" Tina stated. Dana chuckled as they sat her on a bench by the showers. "Are you really surprised?" she asked. Tina chuckled. "Not really, but that was pretty cool." she stated in response. "Girl, you really had guts to do that to him." Unique stated as she pulled the bits of slushie from Dana's hair. "He's just a bully, who doesn't expect anyone to do anything in response to his bullying." Dana stated.

Marley handed Dana a towel and smiled. "Did you remember to bring an extra shirt?" she asked. Dana let out a curse under her breath. "No." she mumbled. Tina pulled out her phone and chuckled. "Sam told Blaine to bring his jersey over here and he's waiting outside of the locker room." Tina said. "Tina can you..."

She was already at the door.

Dana curled up next to Sam as they and the guys were watching the Avengers movie; and she smiled. She and the guys were taking a break from playing video games; seeing as she and Artie had teamed up and taken Finn and Blaine down in Mario Kart several times. Jake and Ryder weren't there; mainly because Ryder had a family thing he couldn't get out of, and Jake had to go and help his mom with something.

"Hey Sam. You should totally cosplay as Captain America sometime." Dana stated. "Only if you'll be Black Widow." he stated. "Noooo; I can't pull off that outfit, are you kidding me?" Dana stated, a small pout on her face. Sam tapped Dana's nose and smiled. "One day I know I'll get you to think that you can." he stated, watching as Dana smiled back at him.

"Guys, you two are cute, and it's killing me." Artie stated, with a slight scoff. Sam chuckled and Dana leaned over Sam and poked Artie's side. "Arrrtttttiiiiieeeee~ don't die on usssss~!" she groaned with a pout. Artie smiled at Dana before Sam promptly poked her sides, causing her to squeak in surprise, and fall off of Sam, and the couch. She stuck her tongue out at Sam. "Mean!"

Sam chuckled and Dana climbed back onto the couch, Finn laughing as she firmly planted herself between him and Sam. Sam was about to say something, when Dana's phone buzzed. She fished it out of her pocket and looked at the new text message she had gotten. "Oh, it's from Marley."

"What's up? Does she want us to go and get her?" Sam asked. Dana nodded. "She says something happened between her and Kitty and she wants to leave as soon as we can get there." she said. "Okay, let's go get her." Sam stated.

"Hey, can I go too?" Blaine asked. Sam shrugged. "Sure." he stated. "Hey, I want to go too!" Artie stated. "Well, that should be fine, but anymore and we won't be able to fit Marley." Dana said with a chuckle. "How about we take my mom's van? She won't mind." Finn stated. "Yeah, that way we can all go." Artie added. "Good idea, because I guess Unique wants to come as well." Dana stated, looking at the newer text she had just gotten.

Marley looked at Sam with a smile. "What time is it?" she asked, a joking tone in her voice. Sam looked at the other guys and smiled. "It's adventure time."

Marley let out a breath as she and Unique sat on the front steps to Kitty's house. After being called fat a couple of times by her, and watching as her friends other than Unique, just stood there. Unique had attempted to stand up to Kitty, but Kitty turned to her and started to talk down to her.

Marley snapped and stood up to her, and she and Unique agreed to leave, grabbing their things and waiting outside.

"Thanks for trying to stop her Unique." Marley stated, smiling at her friend. "It's no problem, girl. You're beautiful, and she's just jealous of you." Unique said. Marley chuckled. "I think...I think that I'm starting to realize that. The less time that I spend around her, the better. I'll put up with being around her if she joins the Glee club, but until she stops trying to play mind games with me, I'm done." she stated. "Good. You don't need her negativity, in your positivity zone."

As the girls talked, a silver SUV drove up. The driver's window rolled down, and Sam smiled. "You girls need a ride?" he asked, a goofy smile on his face. Marley laughed as she heard Dana smack his arm and her say something like; "I wanted to say that!"

Marley stood up, picking up her backpack, Unique following as they walked towards the backdoor. They opened the door and the guys cheered. "Heeeeeyyyyy!"

Marley and Unique climbed in, sitting beside Finn, who high fived both of them. "Welcome to the party guys." he stated with a grin. "Where are we going?" Marley asked. Dana chuckled. "Well, we were thinking about going and getting some snacks, and then heading back to Finn's place. That sound good?" she asked. "Yeah, I'm game." Unique said. "Hey, and when we get back, maybe we can play more video games." Blaine said, chuckling. Dana cackled. "Game on!"

A couple of days later, it was opening night. Skipping the whole, 'Santana stepping in to play Rizzo' thing that happened last minute, the week had gone fairly. Well. Marley had ignored Kitty, other than when they were at practice, and she managed to stand up to her a few more times when she tried to openly mock her.

Dana watched as Marley and Ryder performed together on stage, and watched as Sam and their friends danced and sang. She smiled; a small sense of pride as she watched everyone from the sides.

They finished performing, and the curtains closed. The cast rushed off stage and Sam saw Dana immediately and rushed over to her, sweeping her into a hug. She squeaked and he laughed, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "Hey there. Where were you? I haven't been able to find you since we got here just before setting up the set." he said. Dana smiled. "I didn't want to be a distraction to you, so I wanted to wait until after the performance. I basically hid from you."

Sam chuckled and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "I'm glad that you said hello, then. I'll be right back, I have to go for the curtain call. After this, I'll change back into my clothes and we can go, okay?" he asked. Dana smiled. "I think Marley and Tina said something about bowling, do you want to go?" she asked. "Heck yes."
