99.9% Chapter 12: Gift Four is Courage.

Professor: I am sorry about the long update time! Been very busy!

Fi: She has been busy learning how to spy on people…with no improvement

Professor: I wouldn't have to spy on you if you would just tell me what you are going to do with the money!

Fi: I'm building something.

Professor: What?

Fi: I said: I'm building something.

Professor: Yeah, I got that part, now what are you building?

Fi: Professor of Gallifrey owns nothing except the urge to find everything out and not let anyone have any privacy!

Professor: *like a little child* WHAT ARE YOU BUILDING?! TELL ME PLEASE!

Fi: Case in point.

…Normal POV…

"We can't just leave them both there! We have to rescue them somehow!" Link insisted as he glared at Caspian.

"If we did that, most of us would die." The prince responded calmly, working to keep his anger down, "You were there when we went to Miraz's castle Link. It was only a few hours ago. Don't tell me you have already forgotten how we were getting slaughtered."

"The only reason some of us made it out alive is because of Fi." A nearby satyr said.

Even though it had only been a few short hours since they tried to attack Miraz, the story had spread. Everyone was now looking at Fi as if she was a great legendary warrior and finally she had to hide in his sword, not comfortable with the staring.

"How was she able to do that anyway?" Susan asked, referring to Fi and her 'magical singing powers'.

Link shook his head, "I don't know. When we were stopping Demise, every now and then she would sing and dance with some message from the Goddess…but I always thought that it was Hylia putting her power into Fi so that we could continue on…."

"Maybe Aslan is helping Fi somehow." Lucy piped up.

"That could be….except none of us have seen Aslan except you and Link so we won't know for certain," Susan said.

"Are we sure that if was actually Fi? Could it have been Aslan and it was just coincidence that Fi was singing at the same time?" Edmund asked.

"It might have been, but we'll need to talk to Aslan to make sure." Peter said.

"And how are we supposed to do that when we can't find him?" Susan looked at her brother.

"He'll show up!" Lucy insisted.

Before Susan responded Link said, "As fascinating as this is…can we get back to Impa and Zelda? We can't just leave them there!"

"How are we supposed to get to them? After that attack they will have at least doubled the security." Farian said.

"What about the baby?" Lucy asked.

"The baby?"

She nodded, "Zelda gave us Miraz's baby. We could trade him for Zelda and Impa under a flag of truce…if they still abide by the old laws that is."

"That could work…if the message was taken to Miraz when the other Lords are present," Caspian said, "He will not turn down a chance to display his power."

"Maybe, while we give that message we could also give another…" Peter said quietly

"How could she do that?! Doesn't she know that we weren't supposed to interfere?" Nabooru paced angrily around the room. All of the Sages (minus Zelda) were in the Chamber of Sages in the one pure spot of the Sacred Realm.

After they sealed Ganondorf away in the Sacred Realm, most of it soon became corrupted because of him. However, their Temple of Light in the Sacred Realm was the one spot left that Ganon hadn't been able to touch because of the Goddesses power.

"Why are we here anyway?" Nabooru continued. Ever since Impa had got captured she had become irritable.

"Nabooru, calm yourself," Rauru said to the Spirit Sage.

She sighed and did as he asked.

She knew why they were there. Without them, this Link would die…and if this Link died in this world than he could never be reincarnated into the Hero of Time and save Hyrule.

Aslan had come to these Sages saying this. Saying that, Link's ancestor was needed to save thousands of lives…but unless the Sages helped him…than all Links would die in the process. It had surprised them, to say the least, when He told them of how Link and Zelda were reincarnated over and over to save Hyrule.

He never mentioned how Impa was a reincarnated version of Link's wife. That had been a shock to them all.

"I don't know what Impa was doing there or how she got caught," Ruto spoke up, "However, it feels right that she is there. Like she has something to do there."

"What would that be?" Darunia asked.

Ruto paused before she continued, "I don't know. It's just a feeling. It's like when my home got frozen and then Sheik saved me. When I woke up I had this dread that seemed to hang over my body. But, when I went to the Water Temple, that dread lifted for some reason and all felt right again. I don't know why, it's like I knew I had to be there. And when Link saved me there, I knew that all was right again or would be right soon."

"Do you get these feelings a lot?" Saria asked from where she sat at a table.

"Not so much since Ganon has been locked away, only every now and then when something has happened."

"What do you sense happening to Impa now?" Rauru asked the Zora.

Of all of the Sages, Rauru was the one with the most knowledge, not only of Hyrule and the Sacred Realm but also of the Sages and what they could accomplish. Ever since they had been awakened, he had been training them to help them control their abilities. Needless to say, Ruto was the farthest along in their ability of sensing things.

She was silent a moment, "She is where she needs to be, that much is certain. However…she is also in a lot of danger. If she isn't saved soon than…" she didn't finish.

"Let us go save her than!" Darunia jumped up from where he was seated next to Saria.

"No!" Rauru held up a hand to the tall Goron, "We must not interfere, our actions could end up with everyone being killed."

"So what are we supposed to do?" Saria asked quietly

Rauru sighed and looked up and the ceiling, "We'll hope. We'll hope that Link can save her."

…..

Link sat alone at the stone table staring up at the picture of the lion on the wall. Trufflehunter had told him that it was Aslan and it was put here since this was the place where he had died. He didn't need to be told who it was though. He recognized the lion from his dream.

Staring up at the lion, Link felt even more desperate.

"Why? After all these years of having thought her dead…why? Why did you let her get taken away again? I know she's not my Impa. They might look alike…and talk alike…but their completely different. But no matter what….I-I can't lose her…not again…"

Link fell silent, not believing that the lion had even heard him. He was like that for a long time.

He knew how to get in. The answer was simple. The problem was getting out safely. After finding Impa and Zelda the alarm would surely be raised and they would have to fight their way out and three against an army wasn't very good odds. He was willing to take the chance on his own life but he was afraid of getting Impa and Zelda hurt.

"Courage is not the absence of fear, more the knowledge that something else is more important than fear." A deep voice said behind him.

Link jumped up and spun around, his bow and arrow coming automatically into his hands and he aimed it, all within a second or two.

There, on the opposite side of the stone table was an old man. He had white hair and a mustache to match it. He was wearing orange robes. Link recognized him as one of the Sages who had sent him here in the first place.

"Relax Link, I'm a friend. My name is Rauru, the Sage of Light." The man said and Link slowly lowed the bow and put it back.

"What do you want?" Link asked harshly, he wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone.

Rauru raised an eyebrow, "You might want to act a little kinder to someone who is going to help you save your friends."

Link sighed, he was right, "I'm sorry,"

Rauru nodded and walked around and took a seat on the cracked table, Link sitting next to him.

"What did you say earlier? Courage is not the absence of…what?" Link asked.

"Courage is not the absence of fear, more, the knowledge that something else is more important than fear." Rauru looked at him, "Do you understand what I mean by that?"

Link thought about it for a moment before nodding.

"Good. Now, answer this Link. How do you know how to save them?"

Link opened his mouth to explain his plan but was silenced by Rauru.

"Not how to do you plan on saving them, but how do you know HOW?"

Link was confused, "I just know. I just thought about it and it made sense. I don't know why I didn't see it before, it seems so obvious."

Rauru gave a hint of a smile, "That would be Ruto's doing. She is the one who gave you the gift of intelligence. At the river Rush, when Lucy saw Aslan."

Link nodded, waiting for him to continue.

"You see, all of us, the Sages that is, are to give you a gift. We aren't supposed to talk to you or tell you anything, just give you gifts to help keep you alive when the time came. Those rules got kind of abandoned when Impa got caught however. When we give you a gift, you will feel it automatically but then it will seem to disappear and not affect you. Then, it gradually comes back the more you need it. Such is how you now have a plan to save Impa and Zelda. The intelligence gift that was given to you is coming back as you need it."

"Why are you telling me this?" Link asked.

"Because I felt you needed to know. With all of these questions surrounding this land and this war…it must be nice to have something answered."

Link nodded, "It is. Thank you…but why are you here anyway? I mean, all of the Sages? Why did you come into your past to help me?"

Rauru sighed and looked at the picture of Aslan before answering, "It's for a selfish reason, not important right now. What is important though, is saving Impa and Zelda."

With that Rauru stood up and patted Link on the shoulder before simply disappearing.

Link didn't even notice the old man disappearing though. As soon as the Sage touched his shoulders, Link felt a burst of confidence. He felt happy and strong, he could do anything. He could save them. He WOULD save them!

Standing there in front of the cracked table, Link felt happy and strong and courageous. Because now he had a purpose.

Professor: Ok, so I hope to start updating a lot more often, I'm sorry for the long wait! Anyway, the next chapter will be dedicated to the first person to either review or PM me the answer to this question ((mainly because I want to know how many people know this)): Who first said the quote about courage that Rauru said to Link? (That quote that I don't own, yeah that thing)
