Savvy
Levy marched towards the Master's office, determined to see him. For the last hour, police have swarmed the school, interrogating all the present students. She had given a statement, her hands had been bandaged by a paramedic and now Levy wants to see the Master. No one would give her an update, no matter how many times she asked. She had to know what happened to him.
Weaving through clusters of uniforms, Levy slammed Makarov's office door open. Sitting the floor with an IV in his arm while being monitored by Laxus and a paramedic, the Headmaster looked up at her with wide eyes.
"Levy!"
Lunging forward, she wrapped her arms around his small shoulders. "I was so worried! When I saw the footage, I thought you had a heart attack!"
He patted her head, "You got hurt trying to get to me. Silly girl!"
Levy smiled, popping the old man on his knee. "I care what happens to you."
"And I am fine. Laxus just used a sedative to knock me out for a ruse to arrest my son."
A ruse? Levy turned her angry eyes on the muscled blonde standing behind Makarov. "That ruse hurt people! Natsu and several other students were caught up in fights that included knifes and guns. That is not okay!"
Laxus frowned down at her from where he leaned against his grandfather's desk. "The act needed to look believable, Levy. My dad needs to be behind bars so kids like you don't suffer abuse under people like him or Jose."
She flinched from the reminder of her past with Phantom Institute. Still, she was not in any way finished. "Tell me Laxus, is the LH program worth hurting your friends? Your family? Because I have some torn up hands that hold the answer for you, right here."
They glared at each other over Makarov's heads when the door opened again. A tall purple haired man in a ruby red leather jacket and black jeans ducked inside. His long hair is pulled up into a messy bun, dirty sun glasses perched on a pale, patrician nose and across the left side of his face are white, pale scars.
"Dreyar, am I interrupting?"he asked, his voice deep and silky. He held up a manila folder, waving it in the air lazily. "I came to drop this off."
"Sure, sure!" the smaller man gestured for the file with his free hand,"Kamui, did you deal with the boys?"
The rough looking, six foot man nodded, stuffing his large palms into his jacket pockets. "They will be disciplined for their actions. I offer my apologies since I was not made aware of their participation."
"Good, good. See you in the morning, then!"
Tilting his head as a farewell, Kamui turned on a heel of a well polished boot and ducked back out the doorway. Levy blinked, having witnessed the small interaction.
"Who was that?" she asked, not caring who answered.
"Kamui Gaku. He's a new sponsor for the academy." Makarov murmured as he handed the folder to Laxus, who then put it on his desk, "He is also Redfox's guardian."
Gajeel Redfox. Levy shuddered from the name, remembering how he fought Natsu. The savagery, the violent, blood thirsty lust for pain she saw gleamed in those red eyes...it sent her back to a time when she had been the one he was attacking instead of Natsu.
A small wrinkled hand gripped her shoulder tenderly. Makarov leaned close, his eyes kind and understanding. "Levy, I know you don't get it now but I need Redfox. His guardian is being more than generous and if thought there would be a slight chance you would be harmed, I-"
Gritting her teeth, Levy shook of his hand. "If this is just about money, say no more."
"Levy..."
Shaking her head, Levy stormed to the door and for the second time that day, slammed it behind her.
Makarov sighed heavily, waving the paramedic who pulled the IV from his arm away. The woman smiled weakly and packed up her supplies, the radio near her feet calling for all personal to load up. Once she left, he slowly stood up from the carpeted floor and made a shuffling beeline for his comfy office chair.
Picking up the folder, Laxus rummaged through the papers within. Copies of financial records of the last year along with certain transactions highlighted in red met his dark gaze. "Redfox may be an asshole but give him the right motivation, and he pulls through. This is enough evidence to shut down Raven and Phantom at least three times over. They can't recover from this."
Rubbing at the stress building in his head, Makarov wished the paramedics had given him a stronger dose of Vicodin, aftereffects be damned. "He was more than willing to dig up records and play a double agent for me. I wasn't aware you were involved."
His grandson set the folder down, "I owed Fernandes a favor. You can't do this alone, gramps. You don't have the resources to protect everyone. I do.
Makarov narrowed his tired eyes. "You want me to hand over the reigns already?"
The blonde smirked, a long sharp incisor gleaming against his lips. "Nah, just let me stretch the law a little."
A bruised and battered Gajeel watched as Totomaru slammed the door closed to Gaku's 2015 black Mustang and headed for his dormitory in a tired stagger. It was already 11:30 night and Tomaru had been coding fake bank accounts and digital money trails through tons of servers to fool Ivan, while talking to at least four people at once for the last ten hours.
A full month of hacking and espionage work came through in a forty minute sting operation that put several key corrupt groups away, Dreyar and Jose included. But that meant the institutions such as Raven, Phantom and Oracion Seis would be forcefully closed down and all faculty and students would be relocated or kicked out. Tomaru may have been paid three hundred dollars in his IT contribution today, but it wouldn't solve the fact he would be one of the first kicked out of his school once the news hit the web tomorrow. Gajeel felt a little guilty that after all the work they did, he couldn't help his friend like he did with Juvia.
"I know what you're thinking and we can't," Gaku hissed from the driver's seat, ever present sun glasses perched on his pale face.
"You weren't suppose to be home until tomorrow morning,"Gajeel evaded.
"So you could hide this from me? You know I can tell when you're lying, dumb ass."
"Totomaru can provide digital and electronic security the mountains couldn't possibly have. We need someone like him."
The older man drove them through town and up a steep mountain road, revving the muscle car's V8 engine. "Gajeel, I had to be informed by Gryder of your actions once I got off my flight. Do you know what you could have cost us?
"I was more than able to control myself. Dragneel wasn't even aware what we were doing and he figured it out at the last minute. Otherwise there was no way he would have let me throw him through that hallway so easily."
"That is no excuse for this and you know it!" Gaku growled through clenched teeth once they parked in front of a big gray farm house. Slamming his door closed, the tall man headed for the front door, Gajeel trailing grumpily behind.
"Gryder should have known better. Fuck it all Gajeel, so should you!"
"Look I'm sorry, okay?"
Whirling around, Gaku snatched a handful of Gajeel's shirt and yanked him close. "You think I'm going to let this slide? You think I'm gonna just laugh this off and ignore the chance you could have exposed us? I am pissed off, Gajeel. Do you know what that means?"
Gajeel gulped, real fear stiffening his limbs as he saw his guardian's eyes through the thin plastic of his glasses. The pupils are tiny white points. Shit, shit, shit.
"Downstairs. Five minutes." Gaku gritted out, then shoved him away.
"Oooooh. Someone's in trouble!" a mocking voice chimed from the front door. Both Gajeel and Gaku looked up to see a tall, pink haired man dressed in a red shirt and white sweatpants leaning against the door frame, a double chocolate cookie in each hand.
"What are you doing back, Yuuma?" Gaku growled out as he marched up the steps.
"Flew in about an hour ago. Love my ma's summer gatherings but she clings to her kids, making it hard to escape. What about downstairs?"
Snarling from anger and stress, Gaku swatted the cookies out of Yuuma's hands and onto the front porch with one sweep of his arm. "You too. Five minutes and before you start harping at me about why, its all Jeel's fault. Now, MOVE!" He stormed through the door, his heavy feet echoing off the wooden plank floors.
Yuuma curled his lip in a low growl as Gajeel ambled closer, his hands tucked in his pants and head bowed low. Swatting him on the back of the head, Yuuma shoved the youngest of their trio through the door.
"Way to go, little brother. I am soooo going to kick your ass for this!"
"Get in line,"he snipped back as he pointed at all the cleaned up cuts and newly formed bruises covered his face and arms from Dragneel. "Seem my ass is on everyone's menu today."
A/N: Woo, another update! Soo sorry its been over a year since I updated this. In case you haven't figured it out, Kamui Gaku is the Vocaloid Gakupo, so is Yuuma Vy2 but I will give him a different last name. Look them up in a Google Image search. Their designs are pretty cool!
I hope I haven't lost my loyal readers! Love ya and looking forward to reading your reviews!
