"We should rest here, Uncle." Fili hollered from the back, inches away from Thorin who was leading the small group back home to Erebor. The young prince was walking with Gwen at his side. He saw how tired she was and that the gap between them and Thorin and Kili got bigger and bigger. "Thorin!" Fili yelled when Thorin didn't make a move to stop. Gwen walked up to Fili, saying. "I am fine. It's nothing." She walked past him and tripped over a root. Luckily, Fili was there. He wrapped one arm around her waist and saved her from falling onto the ground and hurting herself.
The heir pulled her close to him and looked into her eyes. "Are you ok?" Gwen breathed heavily and nodded. "Sit down. Rest for a bit." He said and ran up to Thorin, grabbing his arm and wildly discussing with him.
Gwen was leaning against a tree and slowly slid down to the ground. She watched Fili discussing with Thorin, pointing to her from time to time while Kili finally came back with something to eat that he shot with his bow. Her eye-lids were heavy; she sighed some and couldn't fight against sleep anymore.
Hours had passed and when Gwen opened her eyes slowly she was lying by the fire, Thorin's fur coat wrapped around her. She took a deep breathe in and sat up slowly, moving her hair out of her face. "You want to have some supper?" Kili appeared with a wide smile on his lips and was holding a pan right under her nose.
Gwen giggled a bit and took the pan into her hands. "Thank you." Eating the supper, she looked around and saw Thorin walking up to her. He sat down next to her and draped his coat more around her shoulders.
Shortly afterwards Gwen was finished with eating as she put the pan to the side. Thorin wrapped one arm around her shoulders and pulled her close to him. His other hand wrapped around her chin he looked into her eyes. "Soon we are back at home and then I will never let you out of my sight again."
Thorin wanted to kiss her again but they both heard a noise and Gwen backed away. It was just Fili who came back to the fire to get some supper after Kili relieved him from the sentries. With an angry look he sat down across from them at the fireplace. Gwen looked at Thorin, placing one hand onto his chest, gently pushing him back. He was too close already, and said. "You can't expect me to forget what you did so easily. I am not even sure if this here right now is abduction." She removed his fur coat from her shoulders, handing it to Thorin. Then the blonde got up and headed over to Fili, sitting next to him.
With a sad and angry grunt the king grabbed his coat and got up, walking away, probably he was about to join Kili.
Fili nudged his shoulder against Gwen's as she sat down next to him. "I like the way your hair is now." Gwen snorted and shook her head with laughter. "Don't be so angry at Thorin, please." Gwen looked at Fili but the young prince just ate his supper and let out a grunt. "Fili, please. I don't want that there is a fight between you and him because of me. You guys are a family. There shouldn't be bad blood." Fili put his pan away and turned to face Gwen. "Yes, he is my uncle, my family. But you, you are also my family." He got out his pipe. "It wasn't right from him. He didn't know you but to trade you to that elvenbastard? That is not a right thing to do for a king."
"If someone should be angry at him, then it is me. And by Mahal, you have no idea how angry I am." She stated and bit down onto her bottom lip.
"But, let's stop now. All of the dwarves have to talk with Thorin about all what happened. So he won't get the easy way out of it." Gwen nodded with a sigh. She didn't want to argue with Fili now too so she kept silent.
So they stayed silent. Fili was smoking his pipe and Gwen stared into the fire. She let out a long yawn and Fili patted his lap. "You want to sleep, lass?" The blonde looked at Fili. "But that is not really comfortable for you..." "Oh, Mahal, you are tired, lay down." Gwen's eyes widen, she never heard Fili talk to her like that before. But the young heir winked at her and smiled jokingly. "You are terrible, Fili." Gwen laughed and then placed her head onto one of Fili's thighs. She wrapped her coat more around herself and closed her eyes. The prince smiled down at Gwen and laid one hand onto her arm. "I wake you in the morning again."
"Thank you." Gwen replied while already being half-asleep.
