Chapter Eight ~ Aomine being Ahomine

(Part 1)

Akira looked away as soon as she realized who the boy was.

'I can't waste time with this douche' she thought and started walking faster.

An unusual anxienty got over her as she saw him coming closer and closer.

Her heart started beating faster and she took deep breaths, trying to calm down, whispering 'Just walk' to herself.

She was now closer than a meter away to him, when she heard him talk to her.

"You're the C- cap girl!" he shouted, in a deep voice.

'Did he just call me that in public?'

"You fucking pervert!" she screamed, stopping right in front of him.

People stopped and starred for a second and then continued to cross the street.

"You're so rude...You wouldn't even say hello..." said Aomine with a mischievous smirk pinned on his lips.

'How dare you' she thought and gave him a death glare.

"I'm rude? You think calling me by my cup size is polite then?" she said, walking closer to him in defense.

Aomine just rolled his eyes, saying nothing, with an unfeeling look.

Akira's fist tightened and she would have punched him in the face, weren't for a car's horn sound that scarred her to death.

She had forgotten she was in the middle of the street!

'How could I be so careless' she thought, but remained frozen on the crosswalk.

She felt Aomine's hand, grabbing her and pulling her out of the street as many more cars honked at them.

"Aghh that was close!" exclaimed Aomine, whose breathing was now heavy, from the sudden adrenaline burst.

Akira couldn't help but feel grateful to him for getting her out of the street.

She couldn't believe she let her feelings of frustration endanger her life like that.

"It was" she admitted, trying to catch her breath as well.

"How come you're not at school?" he asked curiously, after a short pause.

"I could ask you the same..." she answered, with a smirk.

"Ehh well, I was bored" he answered with the same unfeeling look he gave her before.

'Just bored? Does he even care about anything?'

Akira raised her eyebrows as his eyes fell on her.

"Why are you skippin'?" he asked, now looking rather interested, his dark blue eyes scanning her whole body.

"I was home, practicing for the piano competition" she said, sounding natural as she lied.

He nodded but then raised his eyebrows and a smirk formed on his lips when his eyes fell on her neck.

'Oh no...'

"I'm sure pianos don't bite" he said amused.

Akira tried desperately to cover the marks Taiga left on her neck with her hair.

She kept telling him not to do it, but he always did anyway.

"Was it Kagami?" he asked.

"None of your business, Aomine!" she shouted and turned to leave.

"Aghh...why are you hanging out with such losers?" he exhaled and Akira could imagine him wearing a lazy, uninterested look as he spoke.

"Speak for yourself" she shouted, without turning to look at him.

She was once again at the edge of the pavement, waiting for the same traffic light to turn green for her to cross the street.

'All this time wasted because of him!'

"Come grab a bite with me...I'll show you what I mean" she heard him say but no matter how weird his suggestion was, she didn't turn to face him.

"Not hungry" she lied, her eyes focused at the traffic light.

She was really hungry...

She was planning to get something to eat before she got home anyway, but there's no way she'd go with Aomine.

Her stomach growled loudly and she felt her blood climbing up to her cheeks, making her blush as she knew he had heard it.

"Yeah right" he said and started walking towards her.

Akira remained in front of the crosswalk as he kept approaching her.

"Let's go" he said and Akira gave up on trying to resist.

(Part 2)

Akira had stopped listening to what Aomine was saying , ever since she realised she had no idea where she was.

She had never been in this side of Tokyo before. The pavements were shorter and smaller, there were fewer trees and shorter buildings.

A cool breeze was blowing , despite the sky being clear.
It should have been really hot considering the temperature in Kagami's neighbourhood this morning.

'Where the hell are we? 'she thought.

"And so...the only one who can beat me is me..." Said the ace, after a few minutes of endless monologue about his years in Teiko Junior High and about Kuroko.

He sure liked talking about himself, but from what Akira understood, he really really loved basketball and he really really respected Kuroko.

'He isn't that bad..' she thought and a faint smile formed on her lips.

"Don't be so sure about that..."said Akira, now smiling competitively, challenging him.

She looked at him as he stared at her with equal desire for challenge, not sure if it was purely about basketball, since his eyes fell on her breasts once more.

He kept doing that when they were walking, everytime he looked at her.

She stopped caring and getting mad at him because she knew it was pointless.

'Let the perv be a perv...' she thought and rolled her eyes.

"So where the hell are we, perv?" She said, looking around full of curiosity.

"Tōō" he answered bored and pointed at a building at the end of the block.

'Tōō Academy? We walked that far?' she thought socked, feeling a sort of weird guilt rising inside her chest.

She was in enemy territory while she should have been at Seirin, helping with the team's training.

She looked at the building that was now in front of her.
It looked much older and bigger than Seirin.
The court outside was huge and all sorts of students were sitting outside, eating lunch, in their dark blue uniforms.

"Why come here? Weren't we going to get breakfast?"she said, now wondering what she was doing, the guilt talking over her.

"Exactly" said Aomine and with a bored look, he grabbed his phone and dialed a number.

He yawned as he waited for the person he had called to answer.

A female's screaming voice was heard from the phone, but her shouting didn't change his unimpressed, bored look.

"Just bring an extra sandwich" was all he said as he hang up and sighed, looking at Akira.

"She's the team's manager, she's whining cause I skipped training" he explained, when he realised Akira wanted to know.

"Well, as manager myself, I'll have to agree with her" she said, smiling.

He smiled back at her but his eyes had a more distant, dissatisfied look.

'He really is a complicated person' she thought, his words from before coming to her mind once more.

He had told her about how Teiko Junior High used to play, how they humiliated each and everyone of their opponents.

Other schools weren't even trying to score a point when facing Teiko, he had said.

He said he had started skipping practice and getting bored of playing...of winning.

She looked at him as he yawned and a weird feeling started forming in her chest.

"Are you skipping for the same reason you skipped in Teiko?" She asked with sympathy and he turned to look at her, the bored expression leaving his face.

"Pretty much" he said after an awkward pause.

He was just bored of his opponents giving up. All he wanted was to play for the shake of it. He wanted a worthy opponent capable of challenging him.

'I swear to you Aomine Daiki...I'll give you a worthy opponent at the Inter High' she wanted to say, that weird feeling taking over her, but a pink haired girl came running to them and she didn't get the chance to say it.

"Here you are!" Screamed the pink hair girl ,that now jumped and landed on Aomine's hug, he grabbing her with perfect accuracy.

'He's dating that girl with boobs twice my size and he stares at mine?' thought Akira and rolled her eyes.

"You got fat" was all he said, struggling to keep her from falling.

"How rude Daiki!" Said the girl with a high pitched voice, now escaping his grip and stepping on the ground.

Aomine stretched his arms and turned to look at Akira.

"This is Akira" he said pointing at her.

'Akira? He went from C-cap girl to first name basis?'

The girl turned to look at her with curiosity.

"Huh? You brought a girl and you didn't tell me?" She said and smiled at Akira, coming closer to great her.

Too close..

"Nice to meet you Akira- Chan, I'm Satsuki Momoi" she said and hugged Akira.

'Wow...too close' she thought, but hugged the girl as well.

Momoi broke the hug and turned to Aomine.

"She's cute" she whispered to him with a proud smile.

"She's Seirin's manager" he said with a sigh, looking away from both of the girls.

Momoi turned to look at her once more, this time with a competitive smirk.

It was one of those competitive smiles she herself had, when she was excited.

"Seirin's manager?" Said Momoi, coming closer to Akira and she put her arm around her neck.

Akira just looked at Aomine confused, but he only gave her a sympathetic look, as Momoi dragged her inside Tōō's Academy building.

"Come Akira-chan! I'll show you around!" Said Momoi and started the tour.

Aomine followed closely behind them but he didn't look bored this time.

He approached Akira from behind and whispered in her ear.

"Don't tell her anything about Seirin. Don't spoil my fun..."

Akira turned and gave him an understanding nod, as a competitive smirk formed on her lips.

'I'll show you fun' she thought.

(Part 3)

Akira was panting when she arrived at the gym.
It took her an hour to come back from Tōō, since she got lost on the way.

Momoi had tried to give her instructions over the phone but Akira's mind was on the clouds.

She hadn't practiced today and even though she didn't regret following Aomine in the morning, she felt guilty for abandoning the team and her piano practice.

She stood outside the gym and caught her breath before entering.

The team must have been playing for quite a while, since every one looked exhausted and Kagami was sitting on the bench.

As soon as Riko noticed her presence, she stopped the practice and approached Akira.

"Where the hell were you?" she shouted, infuriated.

"I was home Nechan, I was practicing..." She lied in a perfect mask, trying to bring the look of feeling nervous about the competition on her face.

Riko rolled her eyes and patted Akira on the head. She turned her back at her little sister and blew the whistle she wore around her neck, for the team to start the practice again.

Akira nodded at her sister and turned to Kagami.

She smiled to him from where she was standing but he didn't meet her stare.

"Yo!" She said in a soft voice and sat next to him.

He didn't answer, he just gave her a disappointed look.

"What's wrong?" Asked Akira, putting her hand on his, tenderly caressing it.

"I got so worried...Why didn't you tell me you went home?" He admitted, now taking her hand in his.

"Sorry...I didn't think I'd be this late"she said with an apologetic smile.

He nodded and came closer to her, putting a soft kiss on her lips.

"Just call me next time, you baka!" He said in a soft voice and laid his head on Akira's lap.

"How come you're warming the bench, Kagami-kun?" She asked playfully.

"Your sister found out about my leg... I won't practice for a few days" he said disappointed.

"Of course she did" she muttered playfully and patted Kagami on the head.

They didn't speak for a while, but the silence was comfortable, both enjoying each other's presence.

Kagami only got up from Akira's lap, when her phone rank.

It was an SMS.
It was rare for her to receive an SMS and even before she opened it, she knew who it was from.

Kagami looked at Akira confused when she didn't tell him what the notification sound was about.

She just gave a quick look to the message and quickly closed her phone, trying to look and act cool.

The message said: "I hope you didn't get lost C-Cap-chan"
