Hi everyone,

Sorry for being so late with this chapter, I had so many things keeping me busy and I kinda had a big time period of writer's block. But on the good side of things I'm already working on Chapter 7 :) I want to make it my goal to post minimum 1 chapter per month (and more if I can). Without further ado here's chapter 6.

Team RWBY walked back from Ozpin's office; they headed towards their dorm and grabbed a few things for their next class.

Blake was the first who spoke and broke the silence. "That went… surprisingly well, don't you think?"

Ruby glanced at Blake. "What do you mean Blake?"

"I mean he seemed so... Calm. About the whole thing... Do you think he knows about that 'thing' that grabbed you?" Blake replied.

"You think he was hiding something from us?" Ruby pondered.

Weiss interjected. "Blake, Headmaster Ozpin is a highly trained hunter and a headmaster. He's had more experience with these kinds of situations than anyone else at the Academy. I'm sure if there was something he knew he would've let us know."

Yang now glanced back at the three. "As much as I don't like to take Weiss' side, she's right. If Ozpin knew something about the whole thing he would've told us. Besides it's over now so let's enjoy the rest of the day right?" Yang spoke with a bright smile on her face.

After a short pause Ruby looked at the other three. "What class do we have next?"

"History of Vale with Dr. Oobleck, I think," Blake said.

Ruby let out a small groan. "Hooray!" she said sarcastically, "I can never keep up with what he says."

"He's not that bad, he's just a little energetic that's all," Weiss added.

Yang interjected. "Unless you're a note taking machine like Weiss, Dr. Oobleck is pretty hard to follow," Yang let out a small chuckle.

"Excuse me, it's called being thorough," Weiss said in a "matter of fact" tone, "and I'll have you know that it works wonders on my grades," she said proudly.

"Whatever works right?" Yang said with a grin. Ruby seemed to be spacing out so Yang walked over to her. "Everything okay Rubes?"

"Yeah, I'm just wondering about Sly, I hope he's okay..." She seemed worried.

Yang put a hand on her little sister's shoulder. "If he was already out there and in one piece then I'm sure he's fine sis."

She looked at Yang with hopeful eyes. "Can we go look for him after class?"

Yang thinks for a moment. "Hmmmm, I guess. But not for too long; if we can't find him we can't find him okay?" She says with a neutral tone.

"Okay, thanks sis!" Ruby said with a smile.

Team RWBY went on to class all together.

Meanwhile in the emerald forest, Sly and Co had just found the cave Bentley had mentioned. Sly looked into the mouth of the cave and at the darkness inside. "So this is the place?"

Bentley nodded. "This is the cave. I have enough structural supporters to keep this place from caving in if anything happens. So we should be alright if we make our hideout here."

"At least it can fit the van," Murray said from the driver seat as he waited in the van.

"Murray, could you go check out the cave with Sly? I'll set up our old turret on the van in case more of those shadow creatures show up." He wheeled over to the back of the van and took out parts that he had not touched since the team's operation at the Krack Karov volcano in Russia.

"Sure thing bud!" Murray got out of the van and headed into the cave with Sly. Despite the lantern Sly was holding the cave was still very pitch black. "Man its dark in here."

Sly chuckled, "Why don't you use that technique the Panda King showed you?" He said as they came to a stop.

"Oh yeah, let's see... Feet there, hips low, feel the fire burning inside you and... HAA!" Murray clapped his hands together over his head and his hands were set aflame, lighting up a bigger portion of the cave. "I did it on the first try! Gosh this is such an awesome technique!"

Sly looked at Murray "Uhh Murray..."

Murray swung his fist in a fancy way "Howaaaaah, hiyaaaaaah," He took various martial arts poses with his fiery hands.

"Murray..." Sly's eyes were wide.

"Hmm? What is it?" He asked, now that he had snapped out of it.

"Don't turn around, we need to sneak out of here as quietly as possible," Sly said as he took a few steps back.

Murray slowly looked behind him and saw a large shadow-like creature behind him. It almost looked like a big sleeping bear. "Ohhh..." he said quietly. Murray and Sly began tip-toeing out of the cave, everything was silent.

CRACK

Murray looked down at the thick dry branch he just stepped on and looked back at the beast. Its eyes suddenly opened and it started to walk on four feet towards them.

Bentley was working on the final adjustments for the turret. The turret had a single .50 caliber barrel, and an ammo box fully loaded with a belt of cartridges. "This thing sure brings back old memories," he sighed as he kept working on the turret. Bentley stopped when he heard a crack come from the depths of the cave. "Guys? You okay in there?" He could hear his own shout echo down into the dark cave. He listened carefully and heard a faint noise. "What is that noise?"

What sounded like a faint shriek progressively got louder, as if it approached him. That's when Bentley realized what it was.

"AAAAYYYEEEEEEEEEEE!" Murray was running at top speed out of the cave, followed by Sly and a large shadowy bear.

The pure size of the bear like creature made Bentley's jaw drop. "Gadzooks it's huge!"

The shadow bear chased after Murray, roaring menacingly towards the big pink hippo. "Guys help!" Murray kept running as fast as he could, barely ahead from the shadow bear.

Sly hollered at Bentley over the comms. "Bentley, get over here with the van. You drive and I'll shoot!"

"Got it!" Bentley moved as fast as he could to finalize the final adjustments on the team van's roof turret. "I really hope this thing will hold together," he said quietly to himself.

Sly was able to evade the shadow bear's pursuit and went over to flank the bear. He dashed in from the side and landed a few swipes on it, but it didn't flinch at his strikes and kept chasing Murray.

"Damn!" Sly grunted as the team van pulled up beside him.

Bentley's hands tightly gripped on the steering wheel, his wheelchair's robotic arms used the brakes and gas pedal. "C'mon, turret's fixed!"

Sly jumped in through the back doors and manned the turret. Hold on buddy. The team van accelerated towards the shadow bear's back.

Team RWBY arrived at their dorm, all of them a little tired from the "energetic" lesson in Dr. Oobleck's class.

Ruby flopped onto Weiss' bed. "Uhg, I think my brain is sore..."

Yang giggled at her sister. "C'mon Rubes, it wasn't that bad."

Weiss walked over and sat next to where Ruby was laying down. "He was still very energetic as usual. Though some of the material was pretty new."

Yang gave Ruby a look. "I guess you're too tired to go out later huh?" Yang grinned.

Ruby sat up fast. "No, I still have enough energy for that." Ruby's voice was insistent.

"Alright, alright, we'll leave in a bit. It's better to go out sooner than later." Yang started stretching, her body being a little stiff from sitting through the lecture.

Blake and Weiss gave them both a look. Blake was the first that spoke up. "Where are you two going later?"

Yang bent down to touch her toes. "Ruby made a new friend out near the emerald forest. He had a tough time dealing with some of the Grimm there so she wanted to go check on him after class."

Weiss turned and looked at Ruby. "Have you met this guy anywhere before?"

Ruby tapped her index fingers together. "Well, no but he seemed really cool and stuff. And nice, he seemed nice!"

"Do you know what he was doing in the emerald forest? It's not likely for someone to be living there," Blake said.

"Oh well, he's not from around here, and I don't think he actually has a place to stay…" Ruby said nervously.

Weiss crossed her arms. "Well if Yang meets him and trusts him, it's a step. But I'm sure Blake and I would like to meet him before you decide anything… Rash."

Ruby nodded at her teammates. "I'll make sure that you two meet him soon." She smiled at them.

Yang finished her stretches and looked at Ruby. "Ready to go sis?"

"Ready as can be!" she said as she hopped off of Weiss' bed.

Weiss looked at Ruby. "You two stay safe. Ruby if you need help out there just give us a call, alright?" Weiss slightly looked away as she spoke.

"Sure thing bestie!" She said with a smile.

Weiss crossed her arms. "Humph, we're just teammates. I'm just looking out for you that's all…"

"Alright see ya later!" Ruby waved on her way out the door.

Weiss sat there on her bed slightly pouting. Bestie huh? I wouldn't mind…

Blake watched Weiss pout, she then gave her a small smile. Weiss saw her do this. "What are you looking at?" Weiss kept her arms crossed yet her face was slightly flustered.

"Oh nothing." Blake kept her smile and leaned back onto her pillow. She opened her book and continued reading where she left off.

Sly took aim towards the shadow bear, he took a deep breath and pulled the trigger. The volley of bullets flew towards the shadow bear. The bullets began to tear at the bear's body, ripping holes in its armor and flesh. It staggered once the bullets started to pierce its limbs, making them much slower.

Sly called Murray over the comms. "Murray, get ready to hit that thing!"

"You got it Sly!" While the bear's attention was held by the van's turret, Murray clapped his hands together, setting them on fire like before.

Sly kept firing at the bear until the turret stopped. "Crap! It jammed!" Sly shouted.

Bentley got onto the comms. "Murray, now!"

Murray charged forward at the bear, his flaming fist soared like a fireball in the air. The punch landed into the bear's abdomen with a loud boom, fire exploded out of its back right before it fell. Murray stood there, his fist was smoking a little. "Wow that felt good!" He turned to look at Sly and Bentley, but he also saw 2 other spectators. One small girl wearing a red cape and combat skirt, and a tall blonde with violet eyes, both of them had their jaw to the floor.

I hope you enjoyed that chapter! Please leave a review if you can I always appreciate any feedback or comments you have about my work. I'll talk to you all again once chapter 7 is out :)
