"Hey Sam? Sammy, listen." Cas rolled his eyes, lifting the book he was reading closer to his face. He had been sitting across from two men on the train, and one of them was being too loud for him to enjoy his book.

The biggest one, closest to the window was absorbed in his phone, steadily ignoring the shorter man next to him.

"Dean, turn it down." The quiet one said, and Cas' mouth tightened when the annoying man didn't listen.

"Do you want to hear a joke? Listen to my joke." Cas took a deep breath, hoping it would convey to the man that he was sick of his voice, no matter how deep and velvety it sounded, but the man didn't seem to hear it.

"I know you're going to tell me anyway, Dean." Sam grumbled and Cas turned a page in his book, reading and listening to the conversation. It was hard not to.

"Yep! What do you call a patronising criminal going down a flight of stairs?" Dean chirped and Cas grit his teeth.

"Dean, I really don't care."

"A condescending con descending!" Dean laughed, and clapped his hands once.

Cas couldn't help himself, it was pretty funny. He snorted, a horrible noise he made when he laughed suddenly and Dean froze looking at Cas, who looked back at him in mild horror, was Dean going to be pissed he was listening in?

When he looked up, he could feel his eyes widen. Cas hadn't looked up before, but WOW, Dean was pretty handsome. He had shocking green eyes, that were looking at Cas in surprise and his moth was still curved into a smile.

Cas forcefully returned his gaze to the book, face burning, but it seemed Dean just wasn't done.

"Well, I'm glad somebody appreciates my jokes."

Cas was certain that he heard Sam mutter quietly under his breath, "Well, there's a first." and he had to bite his lip to stop himself from laughing at that too.
