Chapter 24

"Well this is something I didn't expect" James said in response to his son's news about the new student at his school.

"I really wish I could change it, but now we gotta deal with it I guess" Fox had a not so happy look on his face. Vixy shared the same feelings as her son and husband.

"Maybe she'll change how she acts and be nice to you" Fox could see why his mom was trying to be so optimistic. "I would kind of like that, but I have no idea if that'll happen. She wasn't too nice about Krystal." The family of three only wondered what the coming days had in store for Fox and his friends.

Fox went and picked up Krystal that morning before school as he usually did. As they arrived at the school they got out and Krystal dropped one of her books, and Fox kindly picked it up and carried the rest of her books. "Well aren't you just a little sweetie?" She said with a smile as she wrapped her arm around his.

Fox smiled right back at her as they walked along to the lobby of the school. They arrived and saw the rest of the group. "Hey look guys, it's Mr. and Mrs. Fox McCloud!" Falco yelled to where everyone in the lobby could hear him. Both the foxes turned as red as possible.

"I'm gonna kill him for that" Fox whispered to his vixen girlfriend. "Not if I do it first" She whispered back. Amid all the laughing and pointing everyone else wanted to do they remained how they were before the "humor" ensued. Fox and Krystal both mauled him with words, then Krystal gave him a shove letting him know what she thought of his stunt.

Fox and Krystal headed off to their first class, until Fox received a call from James about a mission that he and the guys were to undertake for the day. This left Krystal with only the girls for the day. She sat in her algebra class thinking about what happened yesterday, how would everything be now that Fox's ex girlfriend lives in the same town and goes to the same school as him?

"I guess we'll find out how it works soon enough" She said to herself in class. After school she was sitting on the bench outside waiting for her mother to get her, wishing Fox were with her.

"Well, hi there!" She turned to a semi familiar voice.

"O, um…. Hi uh, Fara?" She was hoping she didn't offend her. She wanted to be nice even though she wasn't on a good level with Fox.

"That's right! And what's your name you cutie?" "I'm Krystal, I think we met over video chat a few months ago" Now Fara remembered everything that went on with her. Fox hadn't told Krystal what Fara said the previous day, so she was targeting Krystal head on.

"Oh yeah! I remember now! You know, he and I did a lot of things back when we dated." Krystal paused for a moment, she never thought about that.

"Oh….well that's cool I guess." Just as that happened Krystal's mom drove up and honked the horn. The blue vixen stood up and gathered her books, "Well that's my mom, it's been nice talking, see you around Fara" She walked over to her mother's car and got in.

"Not a bad start Phoenix" Fara whispered to herself as she walked away.

"Who was that?" Krystal put her books down in the back seat of the car. "Well that's actually Fox's old girlfriend from a few months ago, she's moved here now and she just came up and started to talk to me. She said she and Fox did a lot of things while he was gone, but you came up before she said what" Krystal's mother had a bewildered look on her face."You don't think he and her….you know"

"Well sweetie you know him better than me, if you don't know then I definitely won't. Maybe you don't know your boyfriend as well as you think, you've only known him for a few months after all." Krystal never even thought of that, she really hasn't know Fox for as long as she thinks she has. Within the two or three weeks Fox was gone he and Fara could have done a lot of things.

When she got home she waited until 5 to call Fox. "Hello?"

"Hey Fox, I just wanted to talk" "Hey Krystal! What's up?" Krystal sighed a little bit, "Well I just wanted to know…. Can we go for a walk in about five minutes?" "Uh well sure, something bothering you?" "We'll talk about it on the walk, see you in a little bit"

They hung up and Fox seemed a little thrown off. "That was weird, hey Dad! I'm going for a walk with Krystal!" His dad nodded him in approval and Fox grabbed his flight jacket and walked out. He knocked on her door and Krystal walked out dressed in her hoodie and sweat pants.

" Cold?" He asked her in a joking tone. What Fara said really got to her, because she barely managed to crack a smile at his joke. Fox put his arm around her to keep her warm. They walked along for about three minutes silently until Krystal found the courage to ask.

"So uh Fox? Fara came and talked to me after school today." Fox seemed a little puzzled "That so? What did you two talk about?" "Well….. she said you guys did a lot of things while you were on Katina. And mom brought it up that… well, did you two do…..you know?" Fox was a little offended by this question.

"Well no we didn't do anything together thank you very much. I thought you were over this so called "business" that was between me and her a while ago." Krystal stepped back a little "I'm sorry Fox, it's just that I didn't know. It feels like we've known each other for so long, but it's only been a few months, I just didn't know and wanted to, sometimes you can never be too sure in high school."

Fox now was very offended, "So you think your boyfriend is one who likes to run around with a bunch of different girls huh?"

Krystal was now realizing what she was saying. "No! No absolutely no-" Fox held up his hand, "Say no more, I heard you loud and clear. I'm going home."

Fox turned and walked away.

"Fox wait!" Her cries were in vain as he kept walking away from her, tears beginning to form in her eyes.
