Chapter 26

"Okay, let's take it from the top guys" Fox said as he stepped up to the microphone with his guitar.

(I got my first real six string, bought it at the five and dine, played it till my fingers bled, was the summer of 69')

Fox and the guys decided they were gonna make a high school band.

(Me and some guys from school had a band and we tried real hard. Jimmy quit, Jody got married. Should've known we'd never get far.)

They found an old abandoned shack in Fox's neighborhood that they took their instruments to and would practice at every day they could.

(Ain't no use in complaining when you got a job to do, spent my evenings down at the drive in, and that's when I met you, yeah)

'Maybe this'll help me out until Krystal get's over our little fight' Fox thought to himself. "So Foxie, you mind telling us why you wanted to start a band all of a sudden? You've never said anything about it until now suddenly.""Well, I kinda always have wanted to do this. I just needed a good outlet. Me and Krystal had a little fight the other day and I needed something to occupy my time with and I figured you guys may like this idea, you think it's cool?" The other three looked around at each other.

(And now the times are changin', look at everything that's come and gone)

"This isn't so bad of an idea I think, it's pretty cool for sure." Bill told him, and everyone else nodded in agreement.

(Sometimes when I play that old six string I think about you, wonder what went wrong)

"Alright let's give it another go guys, one more time from the top" They picked up their instruments and gave it one more go.

(Standin' on your mama's porch, you told me that it'd last forever)

Just as they started, Krystal and her dad drove by and she watched them with surprised eyes.

(Oh and when you held my hand, I knew that it was now or never)

She laughed to herself as she watched them play. "Who's that?" Her dad said, since he wasn't paying attention to what his daughter was watching. "It's Fox, he's being silly"

(Those were the best days of my life, back in the Summer of 69')

They finished once Krystal passed by. "Well, we sound terrible." Fox said. "Yeah, but at least we looked cool for that person who just drove by, whoever that was." The other three nodded in agreement, and a small cloud of silence fell on top of them. "This was a bad idea." Bill said. The other three agreed.

"Let's take these instruments back and go play video games" Fox said, so they did just that, they figured they shouldn't terrorize the citizens of Corneria with their excuse for music.

I suggest looking up Bryan Adams version of Summer of 69, I looked up the version by Bowling for Soup, sorry guys but I think Bryan does it better.
