Chapter 36

Fox's phone was ringing a few days later during their fall break. He'd been sleeping and not talking a lot since the football game.

He was laying in bed at 11:20 that morning while he was blindly reaching for his phone. He answered the call without looking at who it was. He barely mumbled hello as he heard a voice that he somewhat expected, but didn't expect. "Fox? You sound sick or something."

He just continued mumbling without knowing what he was saying, nobody knew probably. "Well, I have no idea what you're saying. But we've been trying to talk to you for a day or two. We wanna go to the mall, and I don't want Panther to have to drive all the way out here then turn around to go to the mall, so could come with us and take me?" He still had no idea who it was on the phone. "Are you okay Fox?" After a moment of silence he shook his head and got out of his trance.

He clicked a button on his phone and his screen lit up, showing that it was indeed Krystal who had called him. "Oh! Uhh, hey there Krystal."

"We've been trying to talk to you since Friday, we're going to the mall today, so why don't you come with us? We're your friends after all" She said with a small laugh. He didn't feel like it. He didn't feel like anyone was his friend right now. "Uhhhhhh, who all's there?" She just laughed a little at his cluelessness, "The group and Panther, can you come get me so he doesn't have to drive all the way over here then turn around?"

Fox paused for a moment and thought his situation over. Being on the phone with Krystal gave him a weird feeling. "Uh, well sure. We haven't all hung out in a while." Krystal raised an eyebrow in response. "What do you mean? We went to the football game Friday, but I didn't see you with everyone."

Fox gulped. "Right, weird. Any ways I'll be there after a while, see you then." He quickly hung up the phone and went to go get dressed. A while later he cruised down to Krystal's house and knocked on the door, her dad answered. "Hey there Fox, been a while huh? She's getting ready." Fox just shook his head,

"I get here when she says and not ready, does she think this is a date or something?" He and her dad laughed lightly. "Well I guess it is, just not with me." They laughed lightly again as she came up to the door.

"Hey Fox, are we ready?" He nodded at her, "I'll race you!" Krystal chased after and won, thanks to Fox tripping at the finish line that was his car door. "You run slow" She told him as he sat down. Fox just mumbled to himself joking with her.

Having the top pulled it over made it that much easier to hear the music. "Oh my…" Krystal said randomly. Fox looked a little concerned at how she said that.

"THIS IS MY SONG!"

Fox just rolled his eyes at her."I thought this was something important." She just ignored him and started to dance awkwardly in her seat.

"You're weird" He told her. Krystal just held up a hand telling him to be quiet as she continued dancing. "Thank goodness the top is over" He said to himself.

They got out and luckily Krystal stopped dancing. "That really hurt my eyes you know." She just pushed him into a car and the alarm went off.

"Oh crap!" They both said as they took off for the entrance. They got inside and there stood the guys and Panther. "Hey guys, what happened to the girls?"

Falco just huffed a little. "They all went to see some chick flick, no way we were gonna do that." Bill told them. "More time with the guys, let's get to it." Falco said.

"See you later Krystal, you kids don't have too much fun." Fox said to her and Panther as they all laughed.

'This isn't so bad after all.' Fox thought as he walked off with the guys.
