Kagome awoke to the sounds of people talking and the things clanging in the background. Her head hurt terribly as she tried to sit up, only to feel very dizzy and nauseous when she did.

"Dear girl, rest." A familiar voice cooed, rushing over to her to help her lay down.

"Kaede? What happened?" Kagome asked, allowing the elder woman to help her lay down.

"You were passed out in the forest, child. Ye must be more careful." Kaede reprimanded, covering the girl with a laid out Yukata.

Kagome took a moment and recalled her past memories, almost jerking herself up with worry when she remembered the poor creature.

"Was there a dog with me? Is he alright?" She asked, her brows furrowing against her temple.

Kaede moved from her position and gestured to a heap of clothing, smiling softly.

"Take care, child. The dog is recovering just fine."

Kagome smiled, feeling her exhaustion take over her as she lay back down, falling asleep.

As long as he was okay, she would be, too.

Kaede chuckled, tucking the girl in and walking towards the dog, checking his bandages before she pat his head gently.

Kagome had been clutching the creature to her chest when Kaede had found her, and when they tried to remove him from her body, her body was overtaken in a fit of sobs.

Kaede observed the creature, her eyes searching for a reason of why he seemed so familiar, as if she'd seen him somewhere before. A face came to her mind, and she found she understood just where she had seen the creature before.

The only question was, what had happened to him? Why was he here?

What had he done?

"My girl has a fondness for ye, young prince. Treat her right."
