Ah Chapter Forty, I seriously never thought I'd reach this point, but damn does it feel good to know I have. I must say I've been looking forward to this chapter for quite some time, there's going to be a fair amount of character showcasing, new and old. Many of them will be trying to kill each other.

I do not own anything except the OCs.

Chapter Forty-The Undead Pt.1

There were two possibilities on the table as for why the trio hadn't been intercepted yet, and neither of them made them feel at ease. Option one consisted of the Deep Ones knowing they were coming and laying a trap for them, and possibility number two was they didn't they think they would be stupid enough to attempt to breach Clooloo on their own. At least with the second one it meant they had the element of surprise on their side. How much good it would do them though was up for debate. To be fair it wasn't wheatear or not it would be useful that mattered to Jun or Goblimon, it just made them feel better since starting from day one Dagomon had been getting the drop on them nonstop. Jun in particular was feeling quite good about the surprise they'd be dropping on their multi-limbed enemy; that is if their plan worked as they'd hoped.

The closer they got to the warped piece of architecture the more swamp-like and twisted the forest became. Soon enough they had left the solid ground and were climbing up thick tree veins and roots that could stretched out in all directions. It was obvious at that point they weren't going through a forest so much as a giant jungle complete with all the dangers that came with it. Jun had grown accustomed to swinging from tree to tree or making the jump over wide gaps that were filled with nothing but darkness. No longer did she feel fear when looking into the abyssal darkness that would swallow her whole if she made one wrong move. She no longer feared making the wrong move period. To the Digimon and ghost that accompanied her through the jungle that was the conclusion they'd come to.

When a shadow fell over their heads caste by some unseen creature she flattened her body and made herself look as small as possible. No fear or even the slightest hesitation in her movements. Once the possible danger had passed she was out of the shadows and back on the move. She didn't make a sound during any of this, even going as far as to silence her breathing as much as possible.

Goblimon was far less graceful in his movements, but he was trying. Stealth wasn't his strong suit, but the green-skinned goblin was giving it his best effort. All he could do was really follow Jun's lead as closely as he could. This had been a new experience for him-following someone else's league rather than making his own way. He didn't even try to argue he wasn't following Jun, just going to the same place as her to do the same thing.

Those observation were proof of how far the human and Digimon had come since their arrival in the Dark Ocean.

THUNK! THUNK! THUNK! THUNK!

Obviously Dagomon had taken steps to protect his fortress. The wooden spikes that jetted out of the tree veins and ground were sharp enough to impale even the mightiest of creatures if they weren't careful. Goblimon took one look at the crimson outlining of each of the spikes and realized that if someone wondered too close barbs would jet out of the spikes, no doubt skewering any poor creature standing within three feet of the spikes. A literal wall of thorny spikes that got denser and denser as they proceeded. Besides slowing down their pace the unexpected obstacle didn't bother them all that much, mostly since Goblimon was more than capable of burning the spikes to nothing but ashes with a well-placed fireball. The trio was careful to walk over the scorched paths of wood and rock not knowing if there would be some sort of reaction if the security defenses were destroyed. After a while though it honestly began to feel just annoying since it had reduced their journey to nothing but a slow crawl. At the very least they weren't tripping any alarms and having mutants breathing down their necks.

The skies above Clooloo were growing darker and more twisted by the second. A few arcs of white lightning jumped between clouds only remaining visible for a handful of seconds. Thunderclaps were scarce as too were the mighty gale-force winds that usual accompanied such strange cloud formations. Some would say what was happening was the calm before the storm, and they would have been right.

Jun's gut was telling her the DigiDestined had begun their attack on Clooloo on the Human World. Based on what she was seeing she had to guess the battle had just started or else there would have been more activity going on. She imagined within the next hour or so that was going to change-when that did they had to be within Clooloo's walls. Judging on the denser collection of spikes she had a feeling they were getting closer to their target area. Her guess was confirmed when they came upon a skyward reaching wall of wooden thorns and barricades leaving them only one option, they had to climb.

"Watch yourselves, one wrong move and you'll be a skewered spider on the wall." Harper advised form Jun's shadow as she withdrew two knives she would be using for climbing.

"Compared to what's waiting for us on the other side you actually manage to make that sound preferable." The redhead joked stabbing her first knife in. "Of course if you've jinxed me I'll be pretty pissed off."

Within her shadow Harper could feel himself grinning. This girl truly was starting to grow on him as their little adventure continued. Goblimon had little trouble digging into the dark wood with his nails. Given his background a giant wall of tree veins was probably the easiest thing he'd ever had to climb. Perhaps that was why he was the first to notice the top of the thorn was for all intents and purposes impassable.

"We're going to need a new plan here guys!" He called down. "If we make it to the top odds are there's going to be a steep drop waiting for us on the other side! And that's if we can make it without getting skewered like fish!"

Jun cursed to herself for thinking their lucky streak would carry them just a little while further. It would take them too long to backtrack and find a way around the wall when odds were one likely didn't exist. What they needed was a direct path through the thorny barrier prohibiting their movement. "Wait a minute, if we can't go up or around then that means going through is our only option. We've got something that can drill our way through." Once again Jun knew she was placing their hopes on a longshot, but it was all they had to go on. "Goblimon! Come down here! I'm going to need your help!"

In a heartbeat the green-skinned goblin was by her side. "What 'cha got in mind?"

"To pull this off I'm going to need you to use your Goblin Strike." She started reaching into her pocket for her Digivice. Clapping her hand around the edges she placed the screen against the red-lined wood and focused her mind. "Davis, you never were specific about what these things could do besides Digivolving a Digimon. I don't think you knew they could do half the stuff mine's done for me." In her mind's eye her Digivice was like a candle's flickering flame within her hands. Directing all her focus into the flame she watched it grow out turning into a nice sized mass of light and heat. "Goblimon, place your hand over mine."

As a testament to the trust between them Goblin did exactly as he was asked. The baseball-sized fireball in his palm molded itself perfectly over Jun's hand. The heat and energy of his attack flowed over her flesh into the glowing Digivice pressed against the wooden barrier causing it to burn brighter. A glowing circle of light almost four feet wide appeared before them; the bright white flames didn't so much as burn the wood so much as disintegrate it leaving a smoking hole. Gently pressing their arms forward Jun and Goblimon steadily began turning the hole into a tunnel. Save for the light in front of them all around them was jet-black darkness that would have frozen the souls of lesser creatures if they'd stopped or hesitated for a second. Jun and Goblimon did no such thing, they didn't look back nor did they look to the sides, only forwards towards the light. Sweat collected at their brow though they paid it no mind. Their arms remained steady as they pushed deeper and deeper into the darkness not once letting their limbs drop an inch.

Just as they knew there was an end to their tunneling, and it deposited them on the other side of the thorn wall protecting Clooloo. A myriad of foul odors hit their nostrils the moment they felt cool air brush up against their skin. Finally dropping their arms the human and Digimon peered out of their little man-made tunnel to observe their foe's fortress.

As Goblimon had guessed there was a sharp drop between the thorn wall and malefic black spire that was Clooloo. Up close it looked even more bizarre and otherworldly than Jun had thought.

Clooloo apparently wasn't built to obey the laws of physics nor did it seem like it was built to inspire awe in onlookers. Terror and disgust maybe due to its grotesque shape. From up close it actually reminded one of a tentacle more than any piece of naturally carved stone due to the way it twisted and curved at odd angles. Matter of fact, when illuminated by brief flashes of lightning the structure didn't even appear to be made of stone or metal, seemingly having the appearance of organic flesh in some areas. When the light faded the look of stone and black iron returned though it wasn't able to cleanse away the surreal horror Jun and Goblimon had seen. Similar to the spikey defenses various spires and thorns jetted out of the base tower, many of them following the same theme of twisting and turning. The more they took in the more they realized Clooloo basically looked like a giant octopus tentacle carved in barbs.

And it was surrounded by floating chunks of rock that looked an awful lot like sea coral.

It was hard to tell how many of them there were, what they could tell was from the ground up each looked to be the size of a city block. The question of how they were floating in the air was of little consequence as was their purpose. As far as Jun, Goblimon, and Harper were concerned their sole function was to add to the structure's already high creep factor. The landmasses floated in imperfect orbit around the central structure maintaining a healthy distance from the barbs that protruded from Clooloo's main body. Everything was colored in a bar-like pattern of black and light gray that seemed to change tones as stronger winds started to roll over the area. Unlike the Control Spires they'd encountered earlier Clooloo did not possess any sort of supernatural glow or aura to it, not that it needed one anyway. No, simply looking at the obscene creation was enough to freeze one in their tracks. Noises could be heard coming from every inch of the tower; what they were was anyone's guess though none of them were human.

Perhaps a hundred or even three hundred miles above Clooloo the storm clouds that had been gathering finally began to take a defiant shape befitting their supernatural nature. The absurd amount of water vapor in the sky had condensed into a just mirror directly over the structure; what it showed was the current state of its Human World counterpart. Due to their limited eyesight it was hard for the trio to get a solid look at what the mirror showed, but they were certain the Clooloo that resided on Earth seemed more metallic and streamlined than the one they were about to infiltrate. What they were able to tell without a doubt was the Clooloo on Earth was under siege. Colored lights lit up the reflection masking the pagan tower from solid view. The ferocious sounds of battle penetrated the interdimensional barrier that separated the Dark Ocean from the Human World.

It was exactly as Harper had chided them with his recon report. There was indeed a portal leading back to the Human World, but getting to it and getting through would not solve their problems. Reaching it was next to impossible, even if they had wings, and even if by some miracle they were able to reach it there was nothing waiting for them on the other end. They'd free fall into a warzone where the odds were they'd be dismembered before they hit solid ground.

All that would have mattered if escape had been their primary goal. Seeing as how it wasn't the portal wasn't as much an issue for them. The fact that Clooloo was less of a structure and more of a spatial abnormality was, as they'd been told unless both incarnations were destroyed the tower would simply reconstruct itself. That's what they were watching happen now.

Gaping holes had been blasted out of Earth-Clooloo and from the looks of things the DigiDestined were still going at it. With each blow inflicted on its earthly counterpart the trio noticed a low and unnatural moaning coming from the Dark Ocean-Clooloo, as if it too as feeling the pain. Eerie black light was building up starting at the base then traveling upwards. At the peak a bundled mass of darkness began to materialize; the black wasps rolling off it looked like ink suspended in air. The jet-black ribbons freely flew with the wind spreading out further and further by the second. Below the light show continued causing the buddle of darkness to grow in size. On the other end the holes blown in Clooloo began to repair themselves much to the frustration of the attackers.

"Alright Jun, so now that we're here how do you think your master plan will hold up?" Harper jabbed.

"It'll hold up just fine. The DigiDestined just need to keep up the attack, and we just need to survive on our end." She answered looking down at the wall's underside. Thankfully the moat at the bottom didn't seem too deep or hazardous for them to cross.

"You say survive like it's going to be difficult." Goblimon grumbled.

"Difficult? Oh come on Goblimon, we're just going to walk into a hallowed out octopus tentacle filled to the brim with unholy abominations that are an affront to nature while a freaky storm tears a hole in reality above us." Harper chuckled. "I'm sure as the famed Digimon Hunter you've faced worse in your time."

"Cut the banter guys." Jun ordered reaching into her backpack for some rope.

Getting through the wall wasn't fun, and climbing down it was even less. It was the same slow crawl their digging had been turned into. It took Harper's help for her to reach the fragmented ground that lay at the bottom of the wall. Around twelve feet of dirty soil that dumped off into ink-like water no one was looking forward to crossing. Goblimon and Harper held the rope while Jun made the climb downwards. Now behind the towering walls her nerves could feel all the danger they couldn't before. In her ears she could have sworn she heard growling, her nose was telling her fresh blood had been spelt, and her mouth tasted like raw fish had just been thrown in between her gums. It wasn't a pleasant experience, but it was one she could work past with the same iron-focus she'd entered with; it was her only defense against the psychological poison Dagomon seemed to have a knack for. Clearing her mind allowed her to hear her own heartbeat-an engine that pumped blood through her body at a steady place. To ease any leftover jitters she counted off the number of beats her ticker gave off, it was preferable to paying attention to the outside world.

"One beat…two…three…four…five…six…seven…eight…nine…ten….eleven…twelve…thirteen…fourteen…sixteen…seventeen…eighteen…nineteen…twenty…twenty-one…twenty-two…twenty-three…twenty-four…twenty-five…twenty-six…twenty-seve…twenty-eight…twenty-nine…thirty…thrity-one…thirt…"

Soggy ground met her feet cutting her numbering short. Exhaling in joy she opened her eyes to find she'd made it the entire length. After a quick look around, she flashed her Digivice as a sign she'd made it down safely. Knowing Goblimon would be next and would take less time than her she looked out over the small moat they would have to cross to get to the other side where another meadow of jagged spikes spread out. Jun wasn't looking forward to crossing that either. The moat was almost twenty feet across, looking back at their rope she believed she would be able to cross without having to dip one toe in the dark water. Rather or not it worked would depend on how much strength Goblimon had recovered.

"I know that look in your eyes, it's the look that says you've got a plan." His voice sounded beside her. He saw her chuckle lightly and cracked a small grin in return. "Don't act so shocked, we've been together long enough I've learned how to read you. So partner, what's the next stroke of genius call for?"

Collecting the rope she pointed a finger at the other end of the moat. "You Digivolve into Orgemon, tie one end of the rope to the shoreline then pull yanking me over to the other side. Simple and easy."

"Ah, I see." He nodded crossing his arms thoughtful before grinning even wider. "Or I could just Digivolve, drop you on my shoulder and jump over the moat myself. Quick and easy."

"Are you sure? I don't want you expanding more energy than you have to."

"Oh please, I've recovered enough I can go for five days straight without sleeping!" The goblin boasted laughing proudly.

"Better watch it there pal," The specter cackled from the teenager's shadow. "You never know when you'll be forced to eat your own words."

"Joking aside, I'll go with your plan. You ready?" Jun asked holding up her Digivice.

"Always."

Golden light lit up the handheld device causing a cocoon of light and data to envelop Goblimon. The transformation lasted barely a minute and when it ended the familiar form of Orgemon now stood tall, club and all.

"Oh damn, it feels good to be back." The ogre proclaimed flexing his muscles. Throwing a quick glance over at other side he scooped up Jun in one of his palms. "Hold on." It felt nice having her back on his shoulder again just as much as it did being back in his Champion Form. His old strength was back as well; it took him less than a second to gather the energy needed to make the jump and followed through landing with a sound thud on the other side of the moat with ease. "Now, what's next for step two?"

"We find a good place to start a wild fire." She answered pointing north. "We need to get deeper before I can…call in my favor. Once the reinforcements get here it'll be up to us to get our asses out of here before they burn down the place. Remember this is a fortress so watch your step, we don't want to get caught too early."

"Look at you acting all big and in-charge." The trio's ghostly portion commented in an amused tone of voice. "We're about to walk into an enemy stronghold and you're as cool as ice. I like it Jun, I like it a lot." He knew Jun and Orgemon knew he was only telling half the truth. Hiding in her shadow gave Harper a small peak into the mental state of the human teenager. On the surface she may have been ice, but inside he caught the smallest glimpse of the inferno burning within her. In a strange way he found it to be quite beautiful-a magnificent fire fueled by wrath and hatred for a mad god. Harper would have been lying if he didn't say he didn't share some of that hate; that was why remaining in the girl's shadow made him feel like he was sitting next to a pleasant campfire. "Trust in hate, now none of that seems so bad. Here in this place I suppose it's a good thing really, gives you something else to focus on besides how shitty your life has become." Excitement was beginning to rise in his nonexistent heart as they proceeded deeper and deeper into the stronghold. It'd been so long since he'd felt this kind of warmth and now he wanted it to grow. If Jun's plan worked then he'd get his wish.

He'd watch it grow and grow until it had burnt down this entire damn realm.

From the moment Jun Motomiya had made contact with the first LadyDevimon it seemed she would be at odds with the entire race for as long as she lived. Sure none of them may have been the same, but the point still stood she'd mocked the digital race as whole, and that called for vengeance. As much as the current LadyDevimon watching her wanted to exact that vengeance she'd been given her orders. It irritated her to no end how her master had struck such a deal with the human girl, or rather how Jun Motomiya had managed to work out a deal with the Demon Lord of Wrath. More than that, how she'd managed to survive this long in the realm of the forgotten. Neither LadyDevimon nor any of her compatriots thought it was possible for a human to survive the Dark Ocean under such circumstances as her, with or without a Digimon at her side. The fact she'd made herself such an integral player in the war for the Dark Ocean only added to LadyDevimon's frustrations. It wasn't fair one human girl had managed to capture Daemon's attention while her and her sisters worked for centuries to do such a thing.

She'd certainly had to suffer to get where she was, LadyDevimon gave her that a she watched Jun and her companions through the eye of the observer modified Ghoulmon. One had steadily been trailing Jun since she'd set out on her journey to Clooloo, never interfering because there was no need to. Dagomon truly must have thought he had nothing to fear from the human girl who'd just rather signal-handedly infiltrated his greatest fortress undetected. LadyDevimon wanted to scuff at how the unlikely trio of human, Digimon, and ghost progressed through the underbelly of Clooloo as the entire fortress lit up with activity due to the battle happening on the other end of the dimensional wall. Tosamon was leading the…"ritual" the fortress's occupants were currently engaged in to undo the damage done to the Earth-Clooloo. From all standpoints requiring such an absurd process was stupid beyond belief, not to mention tactically dangerous as well.

It was Dagomon's arrogance, one of the few god-like traits he possessed, that had allowed her master the human girl to even give this ridiculous plan any real thought. As crazy as it was it actually seemed like it was going to work. At that thought LadyDevimon continued to bite her nails; Jun's group had made it deeper into Clooloo without being caught or sounding any sort of alarm. Almost a solid hour of nonstop traversing a horror house that had even some of the Daemon Corps scared to enter.

"Ah, what's wrong LadyDevimon? You don't seem pleased even though our little Trojan Horse is about to go off without a hitch." Mocked a voice she recognized all too well. "Chin up why don't cha? We're about to see some serious action."

Shooting Forasmon a sideways glare that could have shattered stone the female devil retorted, "A human Forasmon, since when have we, the feared Daemon Corps, needed the assistance of a mere human? How can you float there and not tell me you don't feel the least but shameful about this?"

The onyx-clad Digital demon grunted turning back to the jagged wall of thorns that protected Clooloo from their attack. He was eagerly awaiting the signal to attack whenever it came. "Sure I'm a little pissed it took a human getting us here, but the payoff's sure as hell worth it. You can't stand on that little branch and tell me you aren't looking forward to it?" A maniacal light danced in the depraved eyes of the Demon Knight as he held up one of his hands. Dark light danced between the finger tips like embers from a rising fire. It was a perfection reflection of the rising killing intent LadyDevimon could feel within his body. "Slaughtering each and every one of those pathetic cultist down to the last man! Watching it all burn! Watching that sad excuse for architecture come crashing down on two worlds! Hearing Dagomon scream as we burn his bitch daughter like any decent fish needs to be cooked! Don't tell me you're not looking forward to any of that!"

At first Forasmon was alone in his laughter, but eventually LadyDevimon joined him followed by the rest of their hidden allies. Hidden beneath scores of thick leaves and branches entire squadrons of demons made their joy for the up incoming slaughter known. It was a dark chorus that would have chilled the bones of anyone listening.

"Just a little longer Jun Motomiya." LadyDevimon said during a break in her laughter. She'd been caught, or rather they'd allowed themselves to be caught by Tosamon who was now parading her to the brainwashed masses while her partner and ghost ally are trapped in coral-composed rings. "Once you've filled your purpose I'll be there to finally put your wrath and sorrow to rest. I suppose it's the least I can do for you after all the headaches you've caused."

"Where is the fear?" Tosamon thought as she delivered the third lashing to Jun's face; the Japanese teenager barely groaned at the stinging pain of her tentacle limb. When she'd found Jun and her allies snooping around she was esthetic about being able to torture the human girl after their last run in. All that changed when she caught sight of Jun Motomiya's eyes. She hated those eyes with a passion which was why instead of just killing her right there she brought her to this alter before the masses. It didn't faze her. When she threatened to destroy her friends right before her eyes something dangerous flared inside of her. When she began to publicly lash her she barely batted an eye; it actually hurt Tosamon's tentacles a little each time they made contact. It was deeply unsettling.

Jun had been crucified yet her face remained a neutral stone mask even as blood trailed down her left cheek. It was as if all the pain Tosamon was inflicting simply wasn't registering in her brain. Or she simply didn't care. Being the sadist she was Tosamon was not happy with this.

"What the hell is wrong with you girl!?" She roared at full force. "You've been strung up like a bagged animal! You've lost! Your world has lost! How the hell can you be so damn calm at all this!"

"Because I haven't lost yet." Jun replied calmly looking Tosamon in the eye. This was the creature who'd poisoned her and nearly killed her. All she did was laugh in amusement when it happened. Once she might have been afraid of her, but that time had passed long ago. "You think you're all that don't you? You've never had anyone with a backbone stand up to you or your father have you Tosamon?"

"What's that supposed to mean human?"

"I mean you're a bully, bullies tend to get frustrated when their victims start fighting back. Based on what I've seen you've never had anyone challenge you. You've walked around like you're the biggest, baddest thing around. It's actually quite sad when you realize you haven't stepped out of this place." Jun started turning her head to the side a little for effect. "Your father's the only one you really fear. He's the one who gave you this power, without him you don't have any of your own. That's what makes you such a laughing stock." She finished chuckling.

SLAP!

"SILENCE!"

"What am I supposed to be scared of? A beauty show reject crossed with a mutant squid from the bottom of the black lagoon? Your crowd is a bunch of mindless Digimon and humans zombies. Yeah, I'm real scared of that. You see Tosamon I'm not scared of you, but you have become a very important person to me." She could tell she'd caught Tosamon off guard based on the puzzled look that crossed her face. "Now's the time. Now's the time to let it all out!" The fire inside her was growing warmer as it demanded release. In a few short minutes she'd give it just what it wanted. "I've…thought for a long time about what you did to me. I nearly died ya' know. It sucked as you can imagine. The thing is, when I woke up I only had one thought. I had this same thought after your…father paid me another one of his visits, and your friend with the dental problem. I…at first I really was scared…it was my fear that blocked me from feeling what I should have felt after everything they put me through. I suppose I needed the fear to really understand this next emotion. I gotta say I liked it a lot more than fear or worrying when the next attack was going to come. It gave me the strength to get here. Can you take a guess what it is?" Jun could feel her lips thinning into a smile as she looked Tosamon in the eye. Now she could definitely feel it inside her. The rain evaporated against her body on contact resulting in small columns of steam that cackled in the air.

Tosamon saw the orange flame flickering through the girl's eyes; immediately she knew what had happened to this girl while they'd lost track of her. She had to be killed now. "THEN I NEED TO TEACH YOU FEAR ALL OVER AGAIN! VIOLET REGRET!"

THUN-CLISH!

Below the hundreds of brain-dead cultist exclaimed in shock at the sound of their priestess howling pain. Many couldn't see what was happening but they knew something horrible was about to happen. A sudden heat wave had just settled over Clooloo and it seemed to be growing by the second.

Orgemon was the first to feel the violent rush of energy from his partner. It was empowering and intoxicating at the same time. "Funny, it's just like Devimon, or maybe that's what makes this whole situation scarier." Easily shattering his bindings he swung his bone club releasing a wave of hellish flames that incinerated their captors right down to ashes.

"I've been waiting for this part!" Harper exclaimed in glee at the alter where a swirling mass of orange and red flames had broken the color barrier while holding a shocked Tosamon in place.

"You see Tosamon, that feeling I discovered was anger." Jun explained as she held one of Tosamon's tentacles in her left hand as easily as if it were a stick. The wounds over her body had healed, or rather, the sudden flame burst had seemingly seared them shut without difficulty. "I found a neat little trick to help me deal with the bad mood of this place-give in to your anger for the ones who tormented you! Do you know what I've dreamed of doing to your father since he put his slimy tentacles on me! I've dreamed of ripping them off and stuffing them down his throat! I want to see him pay in blood for everything he's put me through! I want to see everything he loves burn! And that includes you!"

Jun's eyes flashed a terrifying combination of orange and red at that moment; Tosamon saw the familiar robed appearance of the Demon Lord of Wrath staring her down. All the pride fell away as she screamed and struggled to free herself from the vice-like grip of the possessed girl.

"FOR ALL YOU HAVE PUT ME THROUGH I WILL SEE TO IT THAT YOU ALL BURN!" The double voice of Jun and Daemon thundered in unison.

First there was the explosion of red-hot fire that threw Tosamon hundreds of feet into the ground followed by the fire tornado that sprung up around Jun. Second by second the flames shaped themselves into the fearsome likeness of Daemon himself complete with his fiery red eyes.

"EVIL INFNERO!"

Even Orgemon and Harper who for the most part were shielded from the hateful flames were blinded and slightly burnt by the flame burst that followed Daemon's minds. At the heart of it Jun couldn't see or hear anything; all she focused on was the feeling of sweet release. In her mind she pictured all of Clooloo going up in hellish flames that left no one breathing, especially Tosamon. A tiny voice in her ear continued to whisper to her to keep going, and she did so without a second thought.

"That's right…I want it all to burn. Burn it all until there's nothing but ashes left! Burn it! Burn it all to the ground! The land! The sea! The cultist! The Digimon! Dagomon! BURN IT ALL!"

On the outside the Daemon Corps didn't even wait for the explosion to die down before they commenced their attack. Riding on top a full armored Devidramon the werewolf commander of the Daemon Corps gave the order.

"ALL FORCES ADVANCE! BY OUR LORD'S COMMAND LEAVE NOTHING BUT AHSES!" Caassimon screamed raising both his beloved axes to the sky.

Riding on top of the jet-black fighter plane was a werewolf, one straight out of an A-class horror movie crossed with a nineties action movie hero. Muscles, thick rippling fur-covered muscles that said all they needed to about the Digimon's strength with camouflage pants obscuring the lower half of the beast. Ammo belts crisscrossed around the waist and ammo pouches lined both sides. A flame-colored military jacket weigh on his shoulders, gloriously bellowing in the wind. Within each hand lay a crimson-colored axe with chainsaw teeth that roared to life at Caassimon's command. On top his head was an army cap with two holes cut out for his ears. All together the werewolf was a fearsome creature whose mere appearance promised nothing but violence and destruction for any that crossed his path.

Name: Caassimon

Level: Mega

Attribute: Virus

Description: A Demon Beast Man that serves as the general of the Daemon Corps, that right there should tell you all you need to know about Caassimon. He is a sadistic psychopath who'll gleeful murder entire cities if his lord commands it or if he's just feeling bored. His twin chain-axes, "Angron" and "Nuceria" have taken the lives of more Digimon that you can possibly imagine. When combined together for his Song of the Red Sands attack they become a BFG-big freakin' axe that can cut through any substance. When thrown in his Ruinous Howl attack they're reapers' scythes that always ensure death on contact. What might he do if he ever loses them? He's a werewolf so beware his Demise Claw, a move that harness Caassimon's own demonic essence into lethal weapons.

The horizon was painted all manners of red and orange by the firewall that advanced towards Clooloo then hit home in seconds.

KA-BOOOOOOOOOMMMMM! KA-BBBBOOOOOOOOMMMMMM! KA-BOOOOOOOM!

The Daemon Corps had perfectly replicated the feel of a meteor touching down upon the earth with their first bombardment. The already eye-searing inferno was magnified times ten by the myriad of fireballs, blasts, rockets, missiles, and projectiles. Joining the screaming of the mega blaze was the entire assembly of the Daemon Corps, a collection of demons, fallen angels, volcanic monstrosities, and horribly twisted dragons.

In the span of thirty seconds more than half of the tentacle-shaped spire was obliterated along with a good chunk of the ground itself; there wasn't a structure in sight that wasn't burning do to the intense heat of the hellfire now burning freely and uncontrolled.

A putrid groan rose to rival the hot crackling of the wildfire further adding to the overall grotesque nature of Clooloo. The levitating stone structures that had once graced the tower's upper level plummeted to the ground, some didn't even make the full trip before exploding in showers of fire and rock.

Another volley of projectiles slammed into Clooloo bringing it one step closer to total annihilation. The pack of demons took joy in the immense supernova they'd created as evident by their mad cackles of joy.

Above the ground, on the other side of the reflecting mirror, the DigiDestined watched in wide-eyed shock as the Dark Ocean-Clooloo was steadily eaten away by a mammoth wave of black and red flames. On their end the Earth-Clooloo shrieked and twisted as sections of its body became to gray then disintegrate into nothing. Those far away watching the battle behind monitors were quick to point out those sections disintegrating perfectly mirrored the areas that were burning on the other side of the dimensional mirror. Orders to resume the attack came in full force, almost shattering eardrums of those on the receiving end of the orders. Thankfully they got the message and resumed their attack, turning the earthly monument into a perfect mirror of its otherworld counterpart.

For the Deep Ones it was pure chaos with no end in sight. Everyone and everything was screaming in terror, even Tosamon herself who was still struggling to put out the hellfire still eating away at her body. A handful of her more dedicated followers were doing their best to help only to be caught in the blaze as well. Those that weren't helping had already decided to make a break for it coming to the conclusion the fortress was lost. Unfortunately for them the Daemon Corps did not believe in survivors.

"Scorching Heaven!" Cried one of the demonic Digimon flying through the air. With a single sweep of his sword a line of hellfire erupted along the broken ground cutting off many escape routes for the Deep Ones. "There will be no escape fools! It's high time you pay the price for you allegiance to your false god!" Thundered the demon who now stood stationary over the inferno. Flame-like armor covered jet-black skin and two draconic wings expanded from the back of the Digimon. At best the helmet that covered the creature's head could be described as a flaming skull with two sets of horn spiking upward. Holding up his flaming sword his inhuman voice commanded the oncoming legions, "Diner time my brethren! Well-roasted, overcooked, and burnt! Have it all!"

Name: Aimmon

Level: Ultimate

Attribute: Virus

Description: Play with fire and you're going to get burned, that perfectly sums up this Demonic Knight. It is believed like a few others Aimmon used to be a Holy Knight before he fell to corruption, trading his righteous holy fire for the flames of hell. One of the strongest commanders of the Daemon Corps anytime he's sent out it's usually for the purpose of completely annihilating the enemy. Wielding the demon sword "Hrunting" in his Scorching Heaven and Blasting Edge attacks Aimmon has a tendency to not leave bodies behind. His Tenebrous Flame and Offerings to the Fire are the strongest attacks he's got, and believe you me, you don't want to be on the receiving end of them.

Hundreds of fireballs and energy beams sailed back Aimmon and nailed the masses below him. He laughed as humans and Digimon alike burned in the inferno. Some weren't content to simple sit by and watch the fire burn, they wanted to indulge themselves.

"Convict Burst!"

Now there were three rampaging hellhounds moving through the crowded masses leaving blood and bodies in their wake. The rest of Nebirosmon's hounds followed his lead much to the glee of overlooks.

"ENOUGH OF THIS!" Roared Tosamon blowing out the last of the flames that had been eating away at her body. Black patches covered more than half her squishy flesh and the pain manifested in every painfully step she took. "Stand your ground and fight! The honor of our Lord Dagomon depends on it! Otherworld Mist!" From all over her body colorless toxic gas exploded outwardly consuming friend and foe alike. For the most part it was enough for overpower the violent flames eating everything in their path, very few of her targets had time to scream or even make their peace. Twenty seconds in and the gas cloud had covered an impressive ground of almost forty feet in all directions. At least until two scarlet-colored buzzsaws cut through the gas cloud like knives through butter. Though it caused her pain Tosamon twisted her body from one side to another to avoid being bisected; even with the fast evasion the twin axes passed too close to her body for her to relax. "You flee-bitten mutt." She snarled at the approaching figure.

Coolly marching through the flames came Caassimon whose ear-to-ear grin was enough to send shivers down her spine. Based on the blood dripping from his jaws he'd already helped himself to whatever stranglers he'd come across. "Time to put the princess to sleep, permanently!" Without a care in the world the werewolf dashed towards his prey with saliva flying from his maw and his axes screaming for blood.

"True Blue!"

SLIIISSSSHHH! SLLIIISSSH!SLASH!

"Your pathetic little toxin may work on ordinary maggots, but it won't work on me! I've slaughter legions even when all I had left was a leg and a head!" Howled the demonic werewolf bringing his chain-axes down in a cross shape on top of Tosamon's chest. Before another scream could leave her lips he brought Angron down again on top of her shoulder rewarding him with a glorious spray of blood and data. "Feels good doesn't it! The pain! Come on princess, I wanna hear you scream some more!"

A shadow fell over the battlefield as the game of war continued with the Deep Ones on the losing end. Obviously the Daemon Corps were making good on their mantra of leave no survivors. Hundreds of red and black blurs were moving up and down the ruinous battlefield decimating everything that got in their way, but none more so than a single solid red blur with crimson-colored lightning cackling around it.

SLLLLLIISSSHHHH! SSSSLLLAAASSSHHH! KA-LLLLIIIISSSHHHH!

Even the Megas who'd attempted to stand strong in the face of the terror were helpless against the crimson lightning bolt; they behind not no DigiEggs or DigiCores offering hope at a second life. Darting at impossible angles the lightning bolt seemed to be working its way up Clooloo's burning vintage until finally it found a ledge to issue commands from. The demonic warrior halted allowing the aura of lightning surrounding him to dissipate.

Holding up his eight-foot spear the demonic clade warrior yelled to one of the rampaging beasts. "Scourgedramon! Bring the central complex down!"

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The draconic cry that washed over the inferno, echoed by a scarlet-red light that passed over a quarter of the battlefield. The light condensed within the mouth of a monstrous dragon-like creature whose true appearance was obscured by the smoke and fire that had consumed the skies above Clooloo. What was visible were the multitude or red lights that flashed across its armor clad body, and then came the laser.

It sounded like the air itself was being cut by the red and black-colored energy laser that zoomed through the skies directly into Clooloo's core structure. The beam didn't stop once it found its target, instead, it pressed right through it coming out on the other end still just as strong.

SSSWWWOOOOP!

At first everyone was too preoccupied to notice the groaning noises coming from the central complex, at least they didn't notice until it became too loud to ignore. All heads turned to look at the once Lovecraftian tower that seemed to be reaching for the sky. Now that same structure had a solid line cut half way through it. On top of that, Clooloo was sill burning. It looked as if someone had taken a razor blade and began cutting then stopped half way. Clooloo couldn't support the weight nor could it withstand the damage being dealt to its Earth half.

With eyes filled with glee and horror onlookers watched as the four-hundred and fifty meter tall tower began to bend then collapse.

This time around it was outright painful trying to push back into the realm of consciousness for Jun. Never in her life had her head hurt this much to the point just merely opening her eyes seemed to cause her brain to groan in frustration. Unfortunately working through pain had become almost mandatory for her so that's what she did. Smoke was the first thing her lungs took in and it nearly ahd her coughing her guts out; that caused its own pain within her stomach. Once that passed her vision cleared up enough to make out Orgemon and Harper whose faces were bathed in bright shades of orange and yellow. "Did it work?"

"I don't think you should ever become a military commander." Harper began. "If this is your definition of a plan working I'm pretty sure you'll be sacked for demanding too much."

"…So it worked."

"And then some." Both males replied as Orgemon helped Jun sit up right so she could see the end results of her Trojan horse plan.

It looked as if the mental images in her mind had been thrown from her skull and projected onto reality. Indeed there was fire everyone, burning everything and everyone. The Deep Ones were running and screaming, very few were attempting to fight back, but most had enough sense to realize the battle was lost. This wasn't even a battle based on what she was seeing-it was a slaughter.

Silence was Jun's first reaction to the firestorm around her. Her face didn't register any emotions resembling shock or horror…or guilt. She stared at the hellfire and listened to the dying screams of the brain-dead.

Once she'd taken it all in Jun began to laugh, chuckles at first before throwing her head back in triumphant bellowing. "YES! YES! YES! This is what I wanted to see! This is what I wanted him to see! Are you listening to me Dagomon!? Still think I'm just some weak human girl who can't hold her own in your little hellhole you call a kingdom!?"

"Indeed Jun Motomiya, you have progresses somewhat from that frail little girl that bumbled her way into this realm." Answered a feminine voice Jun and Harper knew all too well. Descending from the flaming skies with dreadful grace LadyDevimon flicked them an insidious smile. "But I'm afraid that progression ends here."

When Jun met the Fallen Angel's eye she was quite surprised to find she was grinning herself. Beneath her steely calm LadyDevimon was taken back by the smile. Amidst the raging flames Jun looked less like a human girl and more like a psychotic lunatic who'd just found her next victim. Her voice carried venom as her Digivice glowed golden light.

"Orgemon,"

"With pleasure." The Nightmare Soldier chuckled as golden light encased him then dispelled revealing his now beloved Ultimate form. "One dead demon bitch coming right up."

I'm pretty sure with this chapter Jun might have made the jump to anti-heroine, something I hadn't originally planned until I looked at the story and realized that's where I was pushing her. Then again maybe the fact she's fighting against batshit-crazy cultist worshipping Cthulhu might lessen things a little. I don't know, I'll leave it up to you guys to interpret. Next chapter the Fall of Clooloo continues!

Until next time and be safe readers, especially if you're a minority living in America like I am.
