"I'm sooo bored!" Bart groaned, spinning around in the chair. He and Garfield were on Monitor Womb duty. Nelle was sleeping soundly between the two of them, her soft snores being drowned out by the sound of Bart's groan of boredom.
"Does your... Pet have to be here?" Gar gulped, still a little weary of the saber that he didn't know was his youngest daughter.
Besides the children, older Abbie, and Bart, Nelle seemed to follow Garfield and Raven around the most out of the heroes.
Bart and Abbie knew and understood why.
The rest did not.
But Janelle was an orphan- having had lost both her parents, and her little brother before she was ten, only to lose her older sisters by thirteen.
"Yes. She does. Besides, like I said- Nelle's 100% harmless." Bart said, scratching her behind her ears.
"That's because the League said that they'd put her down if she attacks anyone." Garfield scoffed.
"Even if they didn't say that, she's still harmless. I trust her with my life. Always have, always will." Bart said, glaring at the younger (and alive) version of Janelle's Dad.
"Whatever." He muttered.
"What are you guys arguing about?" The two turned their heads to see Raven standing in the doorway, her hand on her growing abdomen.
Gar smiled at her, happiness and love in his eyes.
Unknown to him in Raven, in less then a week they'd learn that the precious life that they'd lustfully created together would in fact be a little girl.
"Bart's dumb cat!" Garfield snapped.
Suddenly Nelle woke up, snarling and growling, surprising all three of them.
"Nelly, what the hell?!" Bart cried, shocked, as his girlfriend circled the room, growling angrily.
"If she's acting like that cause I called her dumb, then I'm sorry!" Garfield cried, as Raven teleported over to the safety of Garfield's arms.
On a regular day, she could simply handle anything on her own. But her powers were out of wack because of the baby, so she wasn't risking any collateral damage.
"Nelle! Calm down!" Bart begged, getting up to try to calm the feline down.
"What's going on?" Abbie asked, entering the room with her parents.
"Nelle's freaking out. I can't calm her down." Bart said.
"Nelle. Come here." Abbie cooed, squatting down.
"Recognized Robin B20. Recognized Aqualad B02. Access granted, A29."
"I don't remember this event in the history books." Bart mumbled, as everyone walked towards the zeta tubes.
Laying bruised and sore on the ground, his hands cuffed and an inhibitor collar around his neck, was someone that most of the Team and League didnt recognize.
His black hair was dull and slightly matted, his outfit was a black Kevlar body suit that had several tears in it.
"Who is this?" Superman asked, eyeing the male on the ground.
"We do not know. He was a body guard at the warehouse where the Light keep their weapons. His powers suggest that he is a meta working for the Light." Kaldur explained.
"I don't work for them!" He snarled, eyes to the ground.
Abbie tensed up, her eyes widening. She walked over towards the man Kaldur and Tim had caught, crouching down to her knees.
She looked him in the eyes and frowned, although her blood red irises showed pure joy and happiness.
"You were supposed to call us if things got out of hand." She mumbled, using her powers to take the cuffs and inhibitor caller off.
"Abbie are you nuts!?" Conner snarled, only to be ignored.
The male rubbed his sore wrists, moving off of his knees and onto his rear.
"Thanks." He muttered, eyes locked on Abbie.
"I couldn't call, by the time I realized I needed to get out, I was already in too deep. If I asked for help it would risk collateral I didn't want to be guilty of." He told her.
Abbie got furious when he told her that.
"Everyone thinks you're dead! Lian! Mom! Dad! Your kids! EVERYONE!" She screamed at him, standing up.
'We still haven't found Lisa and Jai. No one has seen or heard from them in YEARS! No one's seen or heard from Hanna in months, either! Do you know what it's done to Mom & Dad to not know what happened to four of their six children?' Abbie asked, hurt in her eyes as she spoke to her brother mentally.
That's when everyone realized it. The man Kaldur and Tim had brought to the Watch Tower...
Was Mark...
They allowed Mark to take a shower in the communal locker rooms. Ollie offered to give his hair a trim, but Mark turned him down, although he did thank him for the offer.
"So, he's Mark?" Conner asked, turning to Abbie.
She nodded, a smile on her face.
"Wow. Someone takes after their Dad." Karen smirked, as Cassie sniggered.
Mark stepped into the common area, a towel wrapped snugly around his hips.
To say he was ripped was an understatement. His torso was more defined then Conner and Clark's, and by a long shot.
"Damn." Raquel wolf whistled.
"Genetics must love you, Mark." Artemis smirked.
"Hahaha." Mark gave his Godmother a sarcastic laugh.
"Could someone get me some pants? I don't want to go back into that body suit, and I definetly do not like standing here in nothing but boxers and a towel." He asked.
"I'll be right back." Clark told him, before leaving to get him some pants.
"It's moments like this where you wish you had some Martian in you, huh?" Abbie smirked.
"Tell me about it." Mark scoffed.
"You two are the ones out of all your siblings that go by shortened versions of your names." Wally commented, his statement coming out of nowhere.
"That's because Lisa doesn't have a shortened version of her name." Abbie said.
'Neither does Noah and Victoria refused to go by anything else.' Mark mumbled over their mind link.
"Yep. Ain't that right, Abigail?" Mark smirked, speaking out loud.
"DO NOT CALL ME ABIGIAL!" She screamed, scaring everyone.
"Someone hates their full name." Mal mumbled.
"I don't hate my full name, I just hate Abigail. I love my middle name." Abbie corrected him.
"Yeah, cause Nikkole is such an original middle name." Mark scoffed.
"And James is?" Abbie snarled back at her older half brother.
"Behave." M'gann growled, which instantly stopped the bickering.
No matter how old they were, no matter what year they were in, if their parents told them to do something, they listened.
Whether they wanted to or not.
"Where's Kal-El with my pants?" Mark asked, realizing that he was still in a towel.
"Mom? Dad?" Jaiyden asked, entering his parent's bedroom when he (and everyone else in the family) was supposed to be asleep.
"Yeah Jai?" Wally asked, yawning as he turned on the lamp beside his side of the bed.
"You know how Abbie's older self showed up, and then Mark's older self showed up last week?"
"Mmhmm." Wally nodded.
"Do you think my older self will come? And what about Lisa and Lian?" Jai asked.
The question interested Wally. He was also curious if any of his kids would show up from the future to say hi.
"I don't know." Wally sighed, having no other answer to give him.
"Ok." Jai said.
"Good. Now go back to bed." Wally yawned.
"Night Dad."
"G'nite Jaiyden."
"Dad? I've got another question." Jai asked, causing Wally to groan.
"What now?"
"When's the next time I can go see Nana and Pop-Pop?" He asked.
"What's a Pop-Pop?" Wally turned his head at the sound of Artemis's half asleep voice, wondering the same exact thing.
"He lives with Nana. He kinda looks like Mommy, too." Jai told them.
Artemis shot up, eyes as wide as dinner plates.
Jaiyden, Irey, Melissa, and Lian all called Paula by "Nana". It was something Paula had requested since she didn't like to be called "Grandma". And if Jaiyden was being truthful, them that meant only one thing.
He had met her Dad.
"I'm gonna go kill my Mother." Artemis growled, getting out of bed.
"Why?!" Wally yelped, going after her.
"Do the math, Wally! If he calls my Mom "Nana", who do you think "Pop-Pop" is?" She snarled, getting dressed.
Wally's eyes widened.
"Your mom isn't that dumb. There's no way she let him move back in." Wally said, trying to defend Paula.
"She loves him. Even after everything he's ever done to her, me, and Jade, she still loves him Wally." Artemis groaned.
"She had two kids with him, babe! He's always going to have a place in her heart simply because of that reason. You could leave and take the kids with you, never to be seen or heard from again, and you'd still have a place in my heart- albeit a small, dark, and minsicule place, but you'd still be there. It sucks, but that's how some people work." Wally told her.
"Momma? Am I in trouble?" Jaiyden mumbled.
"Oh no baby, no." Artemis cooed, bending down and kissing his cheek.
"Nana is." She added.
"Now sweetie, could you tell me the first time you ever met "Pop-Pop"?" Artemis asked. Jaiyden thought for a moment before answering.
"Not the last time I visited Nana, but the time before that. A couple weeks before that she wa talking to him on the phone." Jai told her.
"Is Pop-Pop nice?" Wally asked.
"Yeah! We play games at Nana's and sometimes we go to the park an have Burger King for lunch." Jai smiled.
"... What kind of games?" Artemis asked, gulping.
"Monopoly, Life, Connect 4, UNO. Sometimes we play soccer and baseball at the park- but don't worry, I'm careful of my powers." Jaiyden told his Mom and Dad.
"So he doesn't do anything your Grandpa doesn't do?" Wally asked, wanting to make sure Lawrence wasnt doing anything to his son that his own Father wasnt doing.
"Sometimes I ride on Pop-Pop's shoulder, but other then that, no."
"Does he know about your powers? Have you told him sweetie?" Artemis asked.
"I haven't told him, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know."
"Ok." Artemis sighed, kissing her son's forehead.
"Go back to bed, Con yêu." Artemis cooed.
"Anh yêu em." She told him.
"Tình yêu bạn quá, mẹ." He said, hugging his Dad before running back to bed.
"So what do you wanna do?" Wally asked her, closing and locking the bedroom door.
"Why do I have to make the decision?" Artemis asked.
"They're your parents. I'll give you my opinions and my input, but in the end it's your decision to make." Wally told her.
"I'm going to have a talk with my parents. Jai does seem to enjoy being around my Dad. I'm going to tell them if he hurts any of our babies, I'll slit his throat, and my Mom will never be allowed to see or talk to them again. But before I do that I'm going to call Jade and Roy and have them ask if Lian knows who "Pop-Pop" is." Artemis snarled, grabbing her phone off of her nightstand.
"What!?" Jade screamed over the phone.
"Jaiyden accidently let it slip. Mom let Dad back home." Artemis said, as she paced around the roof of her apartment building, as she talked to her older sister on the phone.
"If he hurts them I swear to God!" Jade spat.
"Me and Wally interrogated him. It doesn't seem like Dad hurt him-"
"But that doesn't mean he won't." Jade interrupted.
"Exactly." Artemis sighed.
"If he hurts my baby girl, I'll- I'll- ooh! I don't know what I'll do to him!" Jade snarled.
"I know exactly how you feel." Artemis told her, not at all happy with the idea of her Dad hurting Jai, Irey, Melissa, or Lian.
"Where'd they even come up with the name "Pop-Pop" anyhow?!" Jade asked.
"I haven't got a clue. Maybe it makes him feel less old or something." Artemis scoffed.
"I don't get it! We haven't seen him since you were pregnant with Jaiyden! Why would he just pop up again now almost six years later?" Jade demanded.
"Just because we haven't seen him in six years, doesn't mean Mom hasn't." Artemis huffed.
"How do you plan to confront Mom about this?" Jade questioned.
"I'm gonna tell her later today that if he hurts any of our kids, I'll kill him and she'll never see or hear from me, Wally or our kids ever again." Artemis informed her older sister.
"I second that."
