The next day was rock climbing day in P.E. Scott and Allison were taking their turn on the wall, and Stiles took it as his chance to go talk to Accalia. She stood towards the right side of the crowd in a pair of maroon athletic leggings that matched the letters on her "Cyclones" sports bra and had her dark hair secured in two boxer braids. "Hey Cali" Stiles said a little nervously.
Accalia smiled at him her cold green eyes warming at the sight of him, "Hey Stiles" She greeted quietly toning out the sound of Scott and Allison's quiet flirting. Stiles relaxed at the sight of her smile and grinned back, "So I know my dad mentioned coming by for dinner sometime yesterday, and he wanted me to ask you if you're free tomorrow?"
She chuckled, "Let me guess, he wants me to come tomorrow because it's cheat day and he knows you put extra cheese in the lasagna for me?" she said her voice taking on a teasing tone.
Stiles gaped at her his cheeks turning slightly pink, he never knew that she noticed he did that. "Well it's your favorite" He defended.
Accalia grinned at him reaching out to casually straighten the end of his shirt trying to ignore the hitch in his breath when her fingers accidentally grazed his hip "I wouldn't miss it" she promised peaking up at him from under her eyelashes.
The moment was interrupted when Allison kicked Scotts foot out from under him and he fell to the mat below them, and the whole class laughed.
"McCall, I don't know why your pain gives me great pleasure," Coach Finstock said with a chuckle, "Alright, Stilinski! Erica! You're up"
The two got secured in their harnesses and Accalia watched as Stiles scaled the wall effortlessly before propelling smoothly off the wall to the ground while Erica made it about half way up and froze. Accalia knew she was epileptic she could smell it on her and she was getting increasingly worried the more the girl's heartrate increased while she was up there.
By now the rest of the class was beginning to notice something was wrong, "Erica. Dizzy? Is it vertigo?" Coach asked from below her. Lydia who was standing beside him rolled her eyes, "Vertigo's a dysfunction of the vestibular system of the inner ear. She's just freaking out."
Accalia smelled the change in Erica's scent when she heard what Lydia said and became increasing embarrassed and growled lowly under her breath before making her way toward the wall, "Or she's epileptic and you're a bitch" She hissed at Lydia seeing Stiles raise his eyebrows in surprise out of the corner of her eye as she quickly put on his discarded harness.
"What?" Coach said "Why doesn't anybody tell met his stuff? Erica, you're fine. Just kick off the wall. Th-Theres a mat to catch you." He told her while Accalia effortlessly made her way up to the frightened blonde.
"Hey Erica," She said when she stopped next to her "I'm gonna help you down okay?" She said watching as the blonde heard the crowd murmuring about her and closed her eyes, "Fuck them." Accalia said bluntly watching Erica's big brown eyes snap over to her in surprise, "Being epileptic isn't a choice, being an asshole is. Now let's get you down from here. I don't like heights either." Erica nodded and Accalia helped her carefully take one hand off the wall and wrap it around her shoulders. The two then slowly pushed off the wall and made their way down to the mat together.
Once they were on the ground Accalia helped her out of the harness and made sure she was steady on her feet Erica thanked her quietly before rushing back to the locker room.
…
"I've been meaning to tell you. I don't think tonight's a good idea" Scott told Stiles while they changed out of their gym clothes.
"What do you mean tonight's not a good idea?" Stiles gaped, tonight Stiles was getting the keys to the ice rink and they were planning to go with Allison and Lydia. Stiles might not be in love with the strawberry blonde anymore but he still wanted to have a good time and take his mind off Accalia.
"I don't know. That thing we saw last night, Isaac missing, Allison's grandfather. All this stuff happening with Derek, maybe it's not the right night for this."
"No you're not backing out. Do you wanna know why? Because you and Allison are obviously having a good time. You know who else wants to have a good time? Stiles. Stiles wants to have a good time, many, many times, in several different positions."
Stiles ranted before noticing that Scott wasn't paying any attention to him, "Are you even listening to me?" Scott didn't answer he only took off in a sprint toward the gym making Stiles follow after him they made it just in time to watch Erica fall backwards off the rock wall and into Accalia's arms.
"Put her one her side" Stiles said when she started seizing, Accalia glared at him indicating that, that was an obvious thing to do at the time. "How'd you know?" Stiles asked Scott.
"I just felt it."
…
Stiles sat down at Boyds table "You got the keys?" He asked. Boyd pulled out a pair of keys from his pocket. Stiles reached over to grab them, but Boyd pulled them back.
"This isn't a favor. It's a transaction." He told him,
Stiles have a laugh, "Right, yeah. Absolutely." He placed a 20 dollar bill on the table. Boyd gave him a look,
"I said 50."
"Really?" Stiles asked "I remember 20. I don't know. I have a really good verbal memory. And I remember 20. I remember that distinct "Twa" sound."
Boyd was clearly unimpressed with him, "I said fifty. With a "fa" sound. Hear the difference? If you can't, there are some other words I can use that start with "fa".
"Huh? I think I'm recalling it now. Maybe I just got it confused with 40?" Boyd glared at him and put the keys back in his pocket. Stiles sighed, "Come on, man, have you seen the piece of crap jeep that I drive?"
"You've seen the piece of crap bus that I take?"
Stiles rolled his eyes and gave him the full fifty, snatching the keys from him while Body flashed him a victorious smile.
"I got em" Stiles boasted dropping down in his seat at his table next to Scott, glancing up when Lydia slammed her hands down on their table her wide eyes set on the front of the cafeteria.
"What- the holy hell – is that?"
Stiles and Scott turned to look and Stiles felt his heart stutter in his chest. Erica was strutting into the cafeteria in a tiny leather skirt, reveling white tank top, leather jacket, and leopard print heels. Her hair was curled to perfection, her big brown eyes where rimmed in black liner and her lips were painted a bright red. She looked great but that wasn't what was having the effect on Stiles' heart.
Accalia was walking next to her a with a sultry sway, she had on a pair of light wash figure hugging jeans, a deep red lace top with a sweatheart neckline, laura's leather jacket, and a pair of matching red heels. Her hair was also curled into shiny chocolate brown ringlets, her green eyes were lined in copper, and she too was sporting the red lipstick look though hers was a shade darker.
"It's Erica"
Erica stopped at a table of lacrosse players and picked up one of their apples a took a bite while Accalia headed straight toward Stiles and Scott. "Can I have a bite?" Accalia asked glancing at the chocolate chip cookie in Stiles hand he swallowed thickly and handed it to her and she grinned at him, "Still on for tomorrow?" he nodded unable to find that words to respond and she winked at him before nodding at Scott and sending Lydia a crimson smirk before swiftly turning on her heel.
Scott and Stiles gaped at them as Accalia threw her arm casually over Erica's shoulder and they strutted out of the cafeteria together. Scott and Stiles glance at each other before quickly following them out of the building.
They burst through the front door to the school just in time to watch Erica climb into the passenger seat of Derek's Camaro, Accalia was perched on her Harley behind them and Derek flashed them a large grin before the three of them took off out of the parking lot.
…
Later that night at the ice skating rink, Stiles sat next to Lydia while they tied their skates trying to focus on the moment rather than the knowledge that Derek now had two beta's for his pack and Accalia was happily going along for the ride.
Lydia shivered against the cold air and rubbed her arms to try and get warm and Stiles quickly reached into his backpack and pulled out an orange zip up hoodie watching Lydia purse her lips as he offered it to her "I'm wearing blue." She stated.
"So?" He said with a shrug.
"So, orange and blue. Not a good combination." She said like it was obvious.
Stiles gaped at her, "It's the color of the mets" she rolled her eyes lightly and he sighed reaching into his bag he found a reeses and offered her that instead smiling lightly as she actually took it from him.
"Well you know sometimes, things that people don't think would be a combination end up being a great combination, you know?" Stiles ranted "Like two people, that nobody would ever think would be together.." He trailed off as Lydia turned to actual look at him, she studied him for a minute and he was surprised that while Lydia the girl he's been obsessed with since third grade was sitting here staring at him the only thing he could think about was that her eyes weren't the right shade of green. They were pretty but they two shades darker than the mesmerizing mint green that Accalias were.
"Yeah I could see that," Lydia was with a nod pulling him out of his thoughts.
"Really?" He asked doubtfully.
"Yeah," She said motioning down toward Scott and Allison, "They're cute together."
"Yeah, adorable" Stiles sighed.
"Unless you're talking about you and the brunette that always looks like she wants to kill someone." She said and Stiles stuttered at her unable to come up with a reply. "I mean don't get me wrong she's very pretty, she just needs to learn to smile more."
"She smiles" Stiles defended that being the only response he could think of.
"Yeah," Lydia said with a smirk and he blushed at the glint in her eye at that moment.
"But only at you."
…
The next night Accalia, Stiles and the Sheriff sat around the dinner table in the Stilinski house and ate lasagna while having an enjoyable yet slightly awkward conversation, Scott had spent the whole day following Erica and Accalia around school trying to figure out who Derek was gonna turn and neither of them had been willing to give any information and Stiles had been stuck in between the two sides.
Stiles and Accalia had just started clearing the plates off the table then the Sheriff received a call, Accalia listened into the conversation briefly hearing about an attempted B and E and watched as the Sheriff came back into the room with a sigh, "I have to run to the station real quick, I'll try to make it back as soon as I can Accalia I'm sorry I have to leave when I invited you to dinner."
She smiled at him "Not a problem Sheriff, I'll just help Stiles get everything cleaned up."
He nodded at her gratefully and clapped Stiles on the shoulder before grabbing his jacket and heading out the door. After the sound of the door closing, it got suddenly quiet, this was the first time to two of them had been alone together since the incident at the Hale house and neither of them knew what to say.
"So do you really not know who Derek plans on turning next or are you just not telling me?" Stiles asked breaking the silence while they washes dishes.
"Stiles," Accalia sighed taking the plate from him to dry, "Why does it even matter? Unless you agree with Scott and you think Derek is turning people into monsters"
There was a pause in the conversation as Stiles rinsed another plate before he sighed, "No I don't think all werewolves are monsters," Stiles said answering the real question she was asking, "But with everything that just happened with Peter and all the new hunters in town and whatever else is out there killing people now, I just don't think we need to be adding to the mess"
"That's precisely why we should be. There' something supernatural out there killing people that we don't know anything about, and Gerard Argent just rolled Into town with his band of merry killers and basically but a price on our heads. We need more wolves to stay alive and Derek is giving them a choice." Accalia told him drying the last of the dishes and leaning back against the counter behind her.
"He's picking people that could really benefit from it and he's telling them all the risks and letting them decide before he turns them. It's there choice and if you really don't think all werewolves are monsters than you shouldn't have any problem with what we're doing."
"Accalia you know I don't think werewolves are monsters why do you keep asking me?" Stiles asked taking a step towards her when she crossed her arms over her chest and looked down at her shoes, "Because I don't know if I believe you." She admitted quietly.
"Why?" He asked again coming to a stop dangerously close to her.
She shrugged one shoulder in a fake display of carelessness, "I don't know, after the night with at the house with Peter and me being all.." She trailed off making a vague hand gesture "you didn't talk to me anymore."
Stiles frowned at her in shock, moving even closer so that they were pressed against each other he lightly grabbed her arms in his hands, "Accalia, I didn't talk to you because I didn't know how to help you," He stressed as her eyes flickered up to his, "I thought you needed space to heal that night you were hysterical and I couldn't get you to calm down, Derek told me something about missing pack bounds and that he would take care of you."
Accalia sighed twisting her fingers into the ends of his shirt, "So it wasn't because you think I'm a monster?" She asked her voice barely above a whisper now.
"Acclalia." Stiles said with such intensity that she felt her breath hitch, "Derek had to physically take you from me"
They were both breathing heavy unable to look away from each other as Stiles leaned toward her. Their foreheads met softly, and their breath tangled together as Accalia closed her eyes both their hearts beating rapidly in anticipation as Stiles slowly leaned down to close the distance between them.
Just as their lips were about to meet, the front door opened, and they sprung away from each other in surprise as the Sheriff walked back into the kitchen, "Hey guys, I hope I wasn't gone too long. Accalia are you staying for dessert?" He asked oblivious to their racing hearts and flushed faces.
"No," she said clearing her throat when her voice came out a little breathlessly "I should probably be getting back to Derek. Thank you for the wonderful dinner Sheriff, It was good to see you." She said politely barely hearing his goodbye or Stiles saying that he'd walk her out of the sound of the blood rushing in her ears.
She rushed out the door stumbling a little on the porch step as Stiles followed her out closing the door softly behind them.
"So, um…I guess I'll see you later?" Stiles asked awkwardly not sure what else to say after what almost just happened between them.
"Yeah, I'll see you," Accalia said walking backwards down the last two steps, "I'm just gonna.." She said pointing behind her before turning around and speed walking down the walk way.
She heard Stiles let out a breathless sigh and froze her face set in determination as she made up her mind, "Fuck it."
She whirled around running back up the porch steps, she slammed straight into Stiles his question dying on his lips as his back hit the door and her lips crashed into his.
His stomach dropped at the electric feeling of her lips on his and he moaned into her mouth his hands grasped her hips as he reciprocated. Accalia's heart was beating out of her chest she knew what she felt for Stiles but she never wouldn't imaged that finally giving into it would feel this right.
She pulled away first, her hands were under the back of his shirt though she has no memory of putting them there Stiles fingers would be leaving bruises on her hips if she were human and both of them were panting. Stiles pupils were blown and his gaze was unfocused as he looked at her, she knew her eyes were flashing between green and silver and she could see the effect of it on Stiles. She couldn't keep her heart rate under control enough to keep from shifting and he had been the cause of it.
She saw the look on his face and cleared her throat before they ended up completely throwing caution to the wind and gently backed out of his arms she wiped her lipstick off of him with her thumb, his heart stuttered and she grinned at him. "Goodnight Stiles."
"Goodnight," He stuttered out as she walked back down the steps.
He stumbled back through the door and slid to the ground as soon as it was closed behind him, his legs too unsteady to hold him. His dad raised his eyebrow at him from his place on the couch. He shook his head and laughed at him when he noticed his wrinkled shirt and the unnatural red tint smudged on his lips.
"I don't even want to know."
