Alex stood against the infirmary window. The empty bed stared at him as he glared out the window. From the looks of the sheet, it looked like Kid had gotten up and walked out of the infirmary on his own. Which should be impossible, given his injuries. Yes, as grim reapers, they had a faster healing ability. However, with Kid's injuries, he shouldn't be walking around that fast. He sighed. The teen turned around and faced the bed. Placing his hand above it, he closed his eyes and breathed in deeply. A lone soul pulsed and the weapon's eyes opened again in confusion. Ignoring the thoughts, Alex opened the window in the infirmary and jumped out of the window.

Along the streets of the city, the crowds of people avoided the youngest son of Lord Death. Although, they didn't know it was the younger son. The boy was dressed in his regular clothes and a black cloak with the hood on, the people around unaware of the state of the young boy.
A swirl of black appeared in the middle of the street and from it came the blood-red eyes of a furious teenager.
"Kid, what do you think you're doing? I know that we're Reapers and all, but you need to go back and re-"
The teen was cut off as he jumped back from his younger brother when the smaller male made to jab at the taller male.
Alex looked at Kid and he knew that his brother was not his own person. The teen clicked his tongue in annoyance and unbuttoned his jacket.
'This isn't going to go well for anyone.'

Izzy stood in a circle with other people in the middle of the Death Room. When the news had spread that Kid had disappeared from the infirmary, his friends and the teachers gathered in the clouded room to discuss what measures were to be taken.
The young meister had long since tuned out what everyone was saying. She was trying to locate her weapon. Alex had a protective streak a mile and a half long, there was no way that he was missing this meeting right now. However, the ever-unpredictable eldest son of Lord Death just loved to prove her wrong.
She tried to force herself to tune into what was being said, but inhaled sharply (which attracted everyone's attention) and whipped around. Using her soul perception, she spotted the souls of the missing brothers and quickly ran out of the room, not caring if the others were following her or not.

Back outside, Alex was having a harder time fighting than usual. His overprotective brother's instincts were fighting with his well... fighting instincts. Usually, when someone begins to attack you, you would defend yourself from the attack and then proceed to pay them back with a technique of your own. Trying to either subdue or kill the target. However, when one is faced with their baby brother, it is a lot harder for one to respond to the attacks with one of your own. Simply the fact that it was ingrained into your mind, from the moment said baby brother was born, that your job was to protect and love your baby brother. The task became difficult and conflicting.
The elder Reaper was faced with that same dilemma. He couldn't simply fight Kid, it wasn't in his nature. He swore from the bottom of his heart and soul that he would protect Kid with every fiber of his being. To protect him from the wrongs of the inhabitants. From the dangers that lurked in the dark corners of the world. His father emphasized how important his job as an older brother was. Yet, nothing could prepare him for the day that he would need to face his baby brother in a fight.
The exhaustion of the flight home and the dodging that he had been doing this whole time, was slowly catching up to Alex and he could only hope that his meister would somehow read his distress and help him. Wiping the blood from his face and staring at Kid, Alex stood and prepared to dodge another attack from his brother. In his hands, there were kunai knives in his hands. Alex could only laugh at the irony of his brother wielding the damn things.
Alex cursed when the tool flew by his face and narrowly missed his eye, instead slicing against his cheek and hitting the chimney behind him. He turned to face Kid and quickly jumped away feeling the tool cutting into his bicep. Dodging and flipping onto the roof behind him, he quickly righted his footing before Kid caught up seconds later and tripped him. He landed painfully on his bum and looked up at Kid, holding the knife above his head.
A sky-blue-colored tiny ball of light bounced off of the kunai, forcing the tool to drop to the ground below them. Alex turned around and nearly cried in relief seeing his meister and turned around to get some distance between Kid and himself and (regrettably) kicked his brother away from him, making the smaller boy land at least eight houses away from him.
Alex stood up and was joined by his meister a few seconds later.
"Thanks for that."
Izzy nodded and tossed the other half of the twin pistols in her hand over to Alex. He stared down at Max in confusion before looking up and narrowly missing a backhand hit from his meister.
"What the hell were you thinking, Alexander? You can't just stand there and take a hit from the enemy. You're a death scythe. You should know how to fight."
The others stared at the teen and watched as he looked down. From her point of view, Izzy could see the trembling in his body and the tears that he desperately fought to hold back.
"I know. But, I can't. I can't fight my baby brother."
The female meister and the audience they had, turned towards the cloaked figure and the wind blew strong enough to knock the hood off of the person. Revealing it to be none other than Death the Kid.
