Alex coughed and blinked the blurriness away. Looking at the ground, he could see the rune-filled circles around him. He was tied to a wooden pole in the middle of the biggest circle. He could tell that the spellwork and the rune belonged to a dark ritual, but the pain made it hard to focus. He tried to focus on the memories of his friends and family. He honestly wished that his family and the cats were there. Hell, even Markus would do. The two of them had a beginner's relationship, but honestly, anything could happen. He resolved himself to tell Markus those three simple words that he wants to hear.
Thinking of his boyfriend, he can imagine the reactions of his brother and his father. Kid would look so horrified, but then he'd stand in front of him with a pout on his face and demand Markus to stay away from his brother. His father would probably do the same thing, but he would grab Spirit and threaten Markus with bodily harm if he hurt Alex's feelings. He loved his family a lot. They were insane, but they were his.
He finally managed to straighten out his eyesight and saw that they were in a fairly large cave. It was probably as large as the Vegas strip.
(A/N: ok just to be clear i do NOT know how big the strip is. I live in Hawaii, not Vegas...)
Alex turned back into focus when he heard an obnoxious cackling going on. His eye twitched because not only was it annoying, but it also wasn't good for the pounding headache he had going on.
"OI! SHUT THE HELL UP! Yer givin me a damn headache."
Alex looked at the guy, annoyance in his eyes. He blinked and came close to the scruffy-looking man. Alex raised an eyebrow at the man. His father's teachings echo in his mind.
'Never let your opponents know what you're feeling. Always be prepared in the face of the enemy.'
Alex cleared his mind and looked at the man. He was looking towards the side the next second, and his left cheek stung painfully. He turned to look back at the man, kneed him in the stomach, and kicked him in the face with all the strength he could muster. He smirked as the guy hit the wall far away from him, a sickening crunch echoing in the cave.
Alex attempted to summon his weapon powers to the surface, but it felt like they were being blocked by something. He looked down and guessed that it had to do with the ropes. Alex sighed and tried to see if he could reach the knife holster on his belt. He was trained from a young age to be prepared for any and everything.
He meditated a bit and allowed his emotions to be hidden behind a shield. He continued to reach for the knife holster and realized that it was gone. Whoever this was, they knew what they were doing. The man appeared in front of him and grabbed onto his chin, forcing him to look at the black pools.
