Alex stopped and leaned onto a nearby tree. He cursed his luck, his injuries weren't fully healed and everything was starting to hurt again. He looked at his surroundings and spotted something in the distance. He squinted his eyes, hoping to get a better look. He saw something flashing in the distance. He looked at the cat on his shoulder and they both nodded. Alex flashed away and hoped that nothing went wrong.

Back at the branch, everyone was staying at calm as they possibly could. Lord Death would be calling with an update soon and someone had to break the news that they lost Alex again. Isabelle was absolutely livid and she was cursing Alex in her head, but she also hoped that he didn't get himself killed, cause she was going to kill him herself. The stupid bastard really couldn't have waited for them?!

They all gulped in nervousness as the mirror in the room began to ring. Swallowing down her nerves, Izzy stepped up to the mirror and answered.

"Hello, Lord Death?"

Alex stopped on a tree branch a couple of feet away. He nodded towards Kai and the cat nodded back, transforming. Alex now held onto a scythe. A silver handle, with the blade a mix of blue and white, almost looking like an ocean. Alex inhaled deeply and looked down at the scythe. He brought the handle part of the blade to his forehead and tried to calm his breathing.

"Well, here goes nothing. Let's do this Kai!"

"Right!"

Alex leaped from the branch and brought the blade up. Slashing down, he connected with something else.

Izzy breathed out heavily. That had to be the most nerve-wracking experience in her entire life. Having to tell your boss, who is the Grim Reaper, the god of death, that you and several other people lost his heavily injured oldest son; was the worst thing anyone could experience. To top it off, the man didn't even yell. The worst part was that he didn't yell. You could feel the disappointment though and that made everyone feel like shit.

Currently, everyone had scattered to different parts of the branch. They were going to keep an eye on any reports about Alex or anything that may relate to Alex. She was sitting in the main control room and hoping that something would happen. She let her thoughts stray off to her weapon partner. Why did he leave? And why not tell anyone that he was leaving? He knew that everyone would've gone with him, no matter what! He must've known that, right? Of course, he did, that's why he left us all behind. She wiped the tears from her eyes and looked up when the alarms started blaring. She looked at the screen and gasped.

"ALEX!"

Nearly a thousand miles away, in the middle of the vast jungles, a familiar signature appeared on the screen.

"GUYS, LET'S GO!"

Miles away and looking as exhausted as ever, Alex hid behind one of the trees; the scythe clutched tightly in his hands. What should've been only one person turned out to be 500 people? The man had somehow started a cult and it was dedicated to getting Alex and using him as a sacrifice. Alex slowly crept through the trees, he had to figure out a way to get to the man without getting hit by bullets.

With the constant motion, the young reaper wasn't able to focus long enough to determine if he was dealing with humans or kishin souls. Oh, and did he mention that they were using HUMAN made weapons?! Yeah, they were using guns, like Liz and Patty, but they shot silver bullets instead of condensed soul energy. His cheek unfortunately met one of those bullets.

He shook his head. He needed to clear his mind and focus. He used his soul perception... and then he swore under his breath. The souls were all human. Damn, well that threw a monkey wrench into his plans. He needed to think of something quick.

Alex winced when he felt a bullet graze his arm. He turned around and found the barrel of the pistol in his face. The man looked down at him and smirked. His finger slowly pressed onto the trigger. The boy disappeared at the last second in a swirl of black. Alex appeared on another branch a couple of feet away. He was sweating profusely, his body shaking from the close encounter.

'Dammit! I need to get my head in the game. I almost became swiss cheese just now.'

He looked down at the scythe and silently thanked his partner. He knew that if word ever got back to Keiran, his father's familiar, he was going to be grounded for the rest of his life.

'As if I'm already not going to get grounded when all of this is over!'

He took a deep breath and tightened his grip on the handle.

"Well, here goes nothing~"
