To HardyGal: Oh, I know Bumblebee is a Urbana 500 in Prime and I'm fully aware it's a fictional car. I was just confused because in some fanfictions I've read that Bee is a Camaro even though it takes place in prime. Sorry for the confusion XD
To ashley Cuadra: Hmm.. I dunno really. We'll just have to see. :3
And on the topic of confusion, just to clarify if someone is a little bit lost, the four new bots were Blaster, Jazz, Eject, and Rosanna. *cue in the "I don't know who is Rosanna' questions*
:: Arcee, Bumblebee, Smokescreen, do you copy?! For the love of the Allspark, someone pick up! :: Ratchet comms the group of the missing Autobots, worried and oblivious to what is happening to them. Arcee was the first to receive it, pardoning herself away from the partying crowd.
"Arcee here."
:: What is taking you three so long? I've been trying to get in contact with at least one of you for the past three hours, what is going on over there?! ... And do I hear music in the background...? ::
Arcee's mind went blank, attempting to think of an explanation that would get her in the least amount of trouble. Her eyes wander off to Smokescreen talking it up with Jazz, making it very clear the white haired teen did not turn back on his comm link, otherwise she wouldn't be stuck being integrated by Ratchet alone. Bumblebee was no where in sight, most likely hanging with Rosanna somewhere since she wasn't in sight either.
"The main mission is completed. We are now investigating for anymore suspicious activity in a mildly populated area regarding the distress signal." Arcee cringe, her story tearing apart by a guy who just asked her if she wanted to dance with him. Of course, Ratchet heard the foreign voice.
:: You're a worse liar than Miko. :: The medic states bluntly while Arcee watches the dejected partier trudge along.
"Give me credit; most of it is true." Might as well tell the story. "Turns out we aren't the only lucky ones to be caught up in this mess. Four more Autobots are in the same boat as we are. More than likely they were here at the time of the explosion, also the ones who sent the distress signal by mistake."
:: More Autobots...? Why didn't you call in about it earlier? ::
"Because we just found out. I can't go much into detail about why or how they got here as they didn't really provide a explanation themselves."
:: In that case, are they trustworthy? :: If they are really Autobots, and not imposters like the last time, no doubt Optimus would want to see them. Plus, curiosity would beckon many questions.
"After helping us face the Decepticons - sorta - and showed no intention to stab us in the back... Well, they seem like the real deal. Besides, they are just like us; how much trouble can techno-organics can cause in this form?"
:: I'll run by it with Optimus and have his say in the matter. It may be best to know how they got mixed up in this predicament. In the meantime, all of you need to return to base. All of Team Prime needs to be here :: Ratchet's tone hinted something new had came up.
"We'll be over at the arrival coordinates for a groundbridge in a few. Arcee over and out." She sighs once the comm call was ended. Now she'll have to kick Bumblebee and Smokescreen in the butt for not turning back on their comm links when they were supposed to an hour ago... The excuse 'we were having so much fun that we forget' will not work on her.
"Hey, Arcee. You look kinda mad over there..." And speaking of Unicron...
"Wanna take a guess who I was talking to, over the comm link?"
Smokescreen instantly reaches for his ear, realizing what he may have done wrong here... "Oh. I may have forgotten to turn it back on..."
Arcee looks between the two white jacket wearing guys. "Has anyone seen Bumblebee?"
"Last time ah checked, he's off in the dance room with Rosanna." Jazz answers, remembering the hearts he saw in Bumblebee's eyes while he went with the singer.
"I'll go get him." Smokescreen eagerly volunteered.
"If you're going there just because Rosanna is there, you're clearer to see through than glass, Smokescreen." Arcee saw through his plans all too easy.
Smokescreen stutters,"What? I didn't... well... okay, you got me..." blushing like a guilty child.
Jazz shook his head at this, looking at Arcee afterwards. "Mind if ah tag along? Ah heard the Big O is on this rock."
"That's the plan. Partied out already?"
"Even ah have mah limits, ah hate ta admit," A laughing Jazz pointed out. "but ah think ah reached mah quota fo' the night."
"All right! Jazz and Rosanna are coming back to the base! Perhaps they can stay there too?" Hopefully wondered the rookie teen. Primus, he blessed the day he escaped the Decepticon's prison ship, otherwise meeting Optimus along with Jazz and Rosanna would had never happened. Not in a million years...
"Did ya already forget 'bout Blaster and Eject, or ya just don't care 'bout them as much?"
Smokescreen quickly tries to correct himself to Jazz as he didn't intentionally leave out the other two. "I didn't mean..."
"Nah, ah'm just messin' with ya." Smokescreen sighed in relief. Good to know one of his idols don't hate him. "Although, it might be difficult fo' Blaster ta go right now since he's still technically workin' and all tha' good biz." Blaster is working, isn't he? "Ah'll just quickly let him know we're 'bout ta bail outta here and tha' he should comm me when everythin's done."
"Guys, check that out," Smokescreen gathers the group's attention. "Looks like the 'Cons left one of their own." The Vehicon with the name Dave sat around the girls he encountered earlier and they have been treated him nicely by the looks of it. He was even smiling, having a good time like he should.
"The 'Cons must have forgotten him when they ran off." Arcee didn't do much but stare. Who would be surprised at a lowly ranked soldier's desertion? Nonetheless cannon fodder in Megatron's twisted eyes; easily disposable and replaceable in a sparkbeat.
"Well, he looks pretty darn happy, a lot happier than with his group of misfits."
"You're not suggesting we leave him here, are you?"
"He ain't hurtin' nobody or causin' any trouble. Ah say leave him until his teammates realize they are one short, though ah wouldn't hold mah breath."
"Maybe without an order to kill anybody, he's harmless…" Smokescreen came up with the conclusion. After thinking about it, the whole time the drones were under Knock Out's order... Seeing how Mr. Narcissist isn't here. "But on the other hand, we could use him as a prisoner."
The Autobots gave glances to each other, considering the idea…
"Where were you? Wheeljack's here and everything." Miko jumps in front of the Groundbridge portal, ponytails bouncing in excitement greeting the returning Autobots. Entering from the Groundbridge from a long mission, Arcee, Smokescreen, and Bumblebee finally returns. The Asian female looked behind them to see three extra bodies, but deemed them with not much importance at the time.
"Sorry for missing this party for another one." Smokescreen unwittingly confessed their whereabouts, although some dismissed it as an expression.
"Is that where you got the new guys from? And yeah, Ratchet said something about additional Autobots were joining us! Um, where are they, I don't see 'em…" Miko's sights were more of in the up direction, obviously waiting for a Cybertronian robot to jump out (or even a vehicle). However, the scoff of the pink haired girl made Miko look back down.
"Are you blind? Try looking over here at the 'new guys'."
"Yo, what's shakin'?" A new voice announced itself immediately to cover up for ill-mannered remark. "New guys/Autobots right here." Jazz stepped in front of Rosanna purposely.
"Oh. I pictured you taller. And made of metal but whatever. Anyway," Here comes the famous five million questions. "How did you guys get here? Were you turned into humans too, if so what did you used to look like? What could you have transformed into? And what's up with the shades?"
"Ugh. Does this thing ever stops talking. When no attention cast upon Rosanna- such a troublesome dilemma indeed in her opinion- she was spotted leaning against the railing of the stairs, studying her reflection from a pocket mirror. If it wasn't for the blessing of common sense, people would have assumed she was talking to herself by the amount of focus on the mirror. "Like, seriously I feel a headache coming on."
"Rose, no need for..." Eject tried to intervene. It was too late for interventions anyway.
"And I'm surprised your face hasn't shatter the mirror yet."
Rosanna slowly closed her hand as the mirror clicks shut. Well, Miko got her full attention. "What did you say?"
"Take off those headphones and you'll hear what I have to say to you."
"Humph. I wear these headphones so I don't have to hear bothersome pests in my ear," The girly teen brushed off Miko in a calm and swift matter, like swatting away a bug. "Right now, they seem to be defective because I can still hear you talking."
"Then come over here and let me fix that problem free of charge."
"Miko!" Ratchet yelled the female human's name, scolding her in the process. Things were getting really ugly really fast.
The Japanese female refrained from taking a step towards Rosanna only because Jack stopped her. "What? I was being nice to offer my service." Say what she will, everyone sensed the anger in her voice.
"I don't think beating up someone counts as a friendly service." Jack added, stepping to the side once the individual in front of him ceased movement.
"Does it look like I care about friendly?" Shot back Miko.
"Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but you just said you were being nice, even though you don't care about being friendly; an oxymoron, Miko."
The Japanese girl stood, giving Jack an 'are you serious' look. Really, she expects Raf to have said that. The boy in question quietly remained staring at his laptop screen as he didn't want to witness any violence. "'Oxymoron'... What are you, my English teacher?" At least the rage in her eyes died down and partially directed to another unfortunate soul. It was either Rosanna's life being in danger or Jack's, and Miko wouldn't hurt him. Much.
Wheeljack blinks. "Never seen a warm welcome like that from Miko before." He was practically waiting for Miko to scrap the other girl. And win.
Eject faced Rosanna, knowing her involvement. "I don't think the word 'nice' is in your vocabulary either Rosanna." it was hard to tell if he was teasing or being serious.
Rosanna probably rolled her eyes under her visor. "What? I didn't start it." Sure, and next she'll lie about instigating Miko towards brutal murder.
Bulkhead's eyes lit up. "Did you say Rosanna? The Rosanna?"
"She's the real deal, Bulk. Look, she even signed my arm." Bumblebee rolled down his sleeve to show Bulkhead his autographed arm.
The wrecker Autobot quickly made it his top priority to find a piece of paper and so he did, presenting it to Rosanna. "Can I have your autograph? I-It's for a friend."
Rosanna pulled out her pink pen, all too prepared. "Sure. What's the friend's name?"
"... Bulkhead." Cue the embarrassing facepalm.
"Why did Bulk became a part of the paparazzi?"
"Back on Cybertron, Rosanna's known for being a famous singer. There's probably not a soul who hasn't heard her name at least once. Usually her songs make it to the top charts." Arcee tells Miko expertly. "It's not unnatural for her to have a large fan base."
"So, Pinky is basically a diva popstar? I hate them… Are you a fan too?"
"She's alright."
Jazz politely interrupts, "Excuse me, ah was under the impression tha' a Prime was here?"
"You are correct," the humanized Optimus Prime steps forward to confront the new arrivals. "I am Optimus Prime."
"Hey, the Big O himself. Long time no see, and ah love what ya did with your hair." Jazz has to be one of the most causal person on the planet to greet a Prime like that.
Optimus simply nods, finding the individual very familiar. "What is your designation?" He asked to verify.
"Autobot Jazz, sir. And next to me is Eject and Rosanna. Blaster is currently servin' his time as a rockin' DJ."
"DJ? As in person who plays music? They were at a party?" Ratchet stares with accusing optics. He knew he heard music while he was contacting Arcee.
"Yeah, it was the best! Wish we coulda stayed longer." Jazz laughs. "Ah think we are missin' the line dancing.."
"You were at a party? The one time I didn't tag along and you were at a party?!" Miko groaned, completely regretting the decision of not sneaking into the Groundbridge behind them. "Unfair. That's it, from now on, I'm following you guys..."
"May I ask of how you came to this planet?" The Prime asked afterwards.
"Ah'm speakin' fo' mahself, but ah have been travelin' solo since Cybertron went dark. Although, ah got in contact with Blaster and his team and we planned ta meet here on Earth after receivin' Prime's transmission there."
"You were running late." Eject brought up. "What was the hold up?"
"Ah was caught in a Decepticon ambushed and crashed a few planets back in another quadrant," Jazz adjust the shades on his nose. "Shot me right out the sky."
"Scrap. What did you do to escape?" Asked Smokescreen.
A humm of thought and a tilt of the head, Jazz starts recalling the event. "Fo' starters, ah yelled, 'Stop blowin' holes in mah ship!' very sternly to get mah point across. Then ah had the pleasure of fightin' two of the baddest 'Cons face-to-face, Blitzwing and Lugnut. Imagine mah luck..."
A loud exclamation of astonishment came from the bots' mouth. Even Optimus optics grew. Everyone who seen or ever heard about those 'Cons have known they are bad news... "You faced Blitzwing and Lugnut by yourself? No bot can survive taking those two alone." Sounds as if Bulkhead was speaking from experience.
"A bot with special Ops trainin' could survive long enough." Jazz states with an air of proudness that was soon dismissed with a frown. "Trainin' or not, ah was lucky ta have all of my limbs attached at the end. Ah tricked the big lug inta blowin' him and his partner up. Anyway, mah ship didn't take much damage as ah thought it did aside from the navigational systems and jetted off, fixin' what ah could."
"You lucked out." Wheeljack commented as he did know a thing or two about making close calls.
"Yep because enterin' Earth's atmosphere proved too much fo' mah ship ta handle afterwards. Ah thought ah was good as dead after ah had crashed..." A second good landing was too much to ask of Primus.
"So the 'meteor' crash site Blaster told us was caused by your ship?"
Jazz gave a nod at the scout. "Right. The cloakin' systems were still operational. Hence why no one ever saw the ship and a rumour was passed 'bout a meteor crashin' there and retrieved. Funny how things work out." He started back from his previous narrative. "And then there was this light... it was the last thing I remembered before blackin' out."
"That's matches up with our story." Eyes on optics fell on Eject. "Rosanna and I were waiting near the rendezvous point for Jazz. Then out of no where we were all blinded by a green light..."
"Then we woke up as humans..." finished Rosy.
"Was the rendezvous point anywhere near the Amazon forest by any chance?" Optimus questioned the small group.
"Yeah. It was a secluded area and Blaster had a gig there in Brazil. I mean, what normal person would venture out into a deadly forest by themselves?" Clearly Eject doesn't know much about humans...
"Besides us?" Smokescreen raised his voice. "We were all there fighting the Deceptions that day and we didn't see any of you."
"The device of which caused the transformation must have had a large blast radius," Ratchet concluded after listening in. "That's the only logical suggestion, since neither side seen or heard each the other. And it's fair to assume both parties were designated in different parts of the same vast forest."
Jazz nods his head, dreads moving slightly. "Then why aren't ya like this?"
"Because I wasn't there, obviously!" Ratchet felt a strange deja vu moment.
"Rewind there, Doc," Eject interjected. "A device is responsible for us turning into humans?"
"Oh, if a device did this to us, can't you just use it again to reverse the effects?" Asked Rosanna as if it was the simplest thing in the world.
"That's the theory, but problem lies in finding it... the rest of it should I say." Ratchet added a sigh at the end which always meant trouble or bad news was coming.
Eject blink his eyes. "What do you mean the by the 'rest of it'?"
"This," Wheeljack held out his servo, showing them an misshapen metal object. "Is what he's talking about. I found this little doohickey while I was out exploring a little bit. Got curious and started to tinker with it. I must have set off a signal since some 'Cons, Prime, and Bulk so happened to find me at the same time."
"Should have known Wheeljack was behind it," Bulkhead made a 'tch' sound at the start of the sentence. "You should have seen his face when he realized who we were."
"And I still can't believe what happened. You know how hard it'll be to lob with a partner that's pint sized?" Was that really Wheeljack's only concern?
"Miko also confirmed that this is most definitely part of the healing unit. So it's safe to say the other missing parts are scattered about on Earth." Optimus had came up with the conclusion earlier with Ratchet.
"Why would it split up in the first place?" Young Raf inquired skeptically.
Ratchet starts answering, "It could have been a design flaw, or a defense mechanism if it were supposedly in the wrong hands." The many possibilities left the medic stumped.
Jazz figured out another downside. "This sounds like a scavenger hunt. Any means of trackin' the rest?"
"I hypothesized if each part of the device have a transmitter, like this one, there may be a way to use it to locate the rest."
"That sounds great! So how long will that take? A couple days?" Smokescreen faces Ratchet in hopes good news was just around the corner.
"That is undecided at the meantime since somebody tampered too much with the device's configuration."
Wheeljack, the 'somebody' Ratchet scornfully mentioned, hadn't had much to say back, knowing it's an unwise move to further tick a medic- wrenches leaves painful dents. "Doc. I offered to help put it back the way it was since I remember how it looked...sorta."
"That is precisely why I'm taking over of the reconstruction."
"So does that mean you want the other little bits and pieces I took from it, or ya got that covered too?"
"So tha's the good news and bad news mixed inta one," Jazz places his hands in his pockets.
Optimus turns to Jazz, Eject, and Rosanna. It was noticeable how the discovery of their transformation still shaken them. "That being said, what are your plans?"
"Hmm... I guess we are stuck here for the meantime anyway. Originally, our plan was to find you, Optimus, and lend a hand the best way we could." Eject scratches under his hat. "But this whole mess happened, and frankly I don't know what we can do at this point." Jazz and Rosanna understands completely with Eject's statement.
Nonetheless, Optimus says this, "Then you are welcome to stay, not only as our guest, but as additional members to the team. May I welcome you to Team Prime."
Eject grinned "Glad to be on board, Optimus!"
"Great! Ah'll comm Blaster 'bout the good news." Jazz spoke afterward, smiling as much as Eject.
"In the meantime, Arcee, Bumblebee, Smokescreen, a quick debriefing about today's mission, if you will."
The three mentioned really thought Optimus forgot all about the mission...
And that's a wrap! I wanted to finish this chapter before my birthday, the 25th of July, but meh... I still got it in... That reminds me, how old do you guys think I am because people think I'm too mature for my age (clearly, they have not read my fanfictions or know me personally...) if anyone can guess my correct age first, I'll write any oneshot chapter, cracked or not. (And Kate, you can't guess my age... Don't pretend I don't know your username -_-)
And at this time I also came to a realization that Airachnid is currently in a stasis pod in the Autobot base as the story does take place after New Recruit along with the few changes of Breakdown not being dead because of reasons I liked him alive... SO, Airachnid may or may not be in a stasis pod depending of how this story goes.
Next chapter should be coming up shortly, maybe this week.
