A/N: I got a prompt a long time ago asking me to write more on this story:

"For instance how long they were together until they married? Did they do a church wedding or a small family gathering at the farm? When does she meet merle that would be interesting right? meeting merle would it be before or after they marry ? Would he approve of beth would daryl care if he didnt? Children how long until they appear and what insecurity will arise from them? I guess I'm saying is there any way not all at once, when you have time come back to this story and add anything you can possibly add to this story about them?"

After a long hiatus from writing, I came back to the first prompt I ever did of Bethyl. What could be a better way to return to my stories than to jog over to my first and add more to it? I'm hoping that this kindles my love for writing again...As always, this is for my sister. I hope I make you proud….so here you go!

Chapter Four - After Jimmy

"Now, Merle...I mean it. Best behavior. I'll beat your ass," Daryl's voice lowered, "if you do or say one sexist action or comment to Beth, I'll beat your ass."

"Alright, alright, I get it. I'll act like a boy in Sunday School, Darylina," Merle replied, his hands in the air. Daryl scoffed.

"You ain't ever been to Sunday School, Dick." Daryl sighed and paced the length of the living room.

"Frankly, little brother, blondie and I have met before. You don' need to be so stressed."

"It wasn't exactly a great first impression. You called her sugartits, like you do any woman that you see. You could see the ugly hag from that Disney movie and you'd still call her that." Merle made a face.

"I do have standards," Merle replied and Daryl snorted again.

"Low standards," he retorted and Merle shrugged.

"Still standards." Daryl stopped pacing and looked at his brother. Merle raised his hands again, "I get it. This is your girl. You're gonna marry her, ain't ya?" This froze Daryl, his eyes meeting Merle's as he contemplated it.

"I dunno if I really deserve her...but I want to ask her soon," Daryl rubbed his hands together for a moment. "I'm gonna ask her tonight."

"How long's it been? Since her almost-wedding?" Merle sat down on Daryl's couch, his face surprisingly calm.

"Over a year," Daryl replied, looking at the clock. "Close to two."

"Bout damn time you proposed, ya ask me," Merle mumbled as a car pulled into the driveway. Light footsteps approached the door as Daryl straightened his button up slightly and opened the door. Beth's blonde head came into sight and Daryl instantly wrapped his arms around her, their lips meeting as he held her. Daryl kissed her as though she was the rain in the middle of a drought; he couldn't get enough of her and knew that he never would. When they pulled apart, Beth's eyes met Merle's for the first time since that night in the bar all of those years ago.

"Hi, Merle...it's been a while," she said calmly, her tone still cheerful. She approached the older Dixon brother, who stood and shifted on his feet.

"Beth, sorry bout that first time...ya know…" Merle shifted again, his hand going out to shake the blonde's.

"Forgiven, Merle," Beth replied before giving Merle a hug, shocking both Dixon brothers. Merle cleared his throat and broke the hug gently.

"Well, good...good. So, uh, Darylina has something to ask you and all and I'm gonna go to the bar. So, be good. Do something I wouldn't do there, Daryl. Like I said all those years ago, she's not my type. Too innocent for me," Merle left quickly, leaving Daryl confused and surprised.

"Wasn't he going to join us for dinner?" Beth asked in confusion.

"Uh, yeah, he was supposed to…" Daryl stared at the closed door for a moment longer before shrugging slightly, "he does what he wants. Usually illegal things...but this last time in jail seems to have fixed him up some."

"Oh...well, what do you want to do for dinner? Do you want me to cook?" Beth started slipping out of her jacket when Daryl stopped her.

"Nah, let's go somewhere. I got the perfect place ready," Daryl pulled his phone out and typed out a text and sent it, "or...it'll be ready when we get there. Come on, let's go."

Beth grinned and went through the door Daryl held for her, going to his truck and hopping in gracefully.

Beth looked at Daryl in confusion.

"Why are we at the farm?" Daryl shrugged as he drove past the farmhouse and through the pasture to the barn, which Beth stared at in even more confusion. There were strings of light hanging around the barn that were lit and glowing beautifully in the setting sun. "Those lights weren't there earlier…" she mumbled and stared at Daryl again. "What's going on?"

"Nothin, hang on," Daryl parked the truck and climbed out, walking to her side and opening the door for her. Beth took his hand and let him help guide her out of the truck, his lips pressing a soft kiss to her forehead as he did so. Her blue eyes took in the lights before sweeping across the ground to the rose petals.

"Daryl, this is beautiful...how did you do this?"

"Your sister and Glenn work fast; I didn't do shit." Beth gasped as they walked into the barn, her eyes dancing in the dim lights as she took in a small table for two, with candles and flowers. "It's a little much for me," Daryl admitted, "but they did good. It's almost as beautiful as you." Beth blushed, her eyes meeting Daryl's before reaching up to kiss his lips. It was a sweet kiss but under it, just flickering at the edges, was a hunger that boiled in their blood and heated their cores. They ended the kiss quickly, though neither truly wanted to. Frankly, Beth would forsake her desire to wait until marriage to sleep with the hunter tonight but she also wanted to know what he had planned for the rest of the night and didn't want to ruin any of it. Daryl stopped them a couple of feet from the table and shakily took Beth's hands in his.

"I dunno when to really do this so i'm just gonna…" Daryl took a deep breath, his eyes meeting Beth's and she saw nerves and fear in his eyes, but also something else. A hunger, yes, but also love. "Beth," Daryl started as he kneeled on one knee, "I realized, almost too late, that I loved you. I know the timing on my realization could have been better...we could be in a different place by now if I had realized it sooner...but, I'm glad I realized how I felt. I'm glad your dad and Rick interfered that day. I never would have been at this point...I would have never been this happy...or, I dunno…" He took a deep breath and reached into his jacket pocket, pulling a small box out and opening it to reveal the most gorgeous white gold ring Beth had ever seen. The multiple diamonds shown in the lights above them and her eyes followed the twirling pattern of the band and diamonds. Tears welled in her blue eyes as Daryl looked up at her again, holding the ring out to her, his eyes bright with love for her, her, Beth Greene. Out of all the women in the world, he was hers. "Will you continue to bring light to my world, Beth? Will you marry me?"

The words were barely out of his mouth before Beth crashed into him, the two falling into the hay on the barn floor, her lips smashing into his hungrily.

"Yes, oh yes, Daryl," she cried out, laughing, her hand only leaving his neck for him to put the ring on her finger before it went back into his hair, her mouth on his again, peppering him with kisses that started out innocently and quickly became more teasing and heated. Teeth nipping at his lower lip, her hand pulling gently on his hair as his tangled in hers.

"Ookay, then, I see you're hungry for something other than the dinner I brought you so I'll leave it here and y'all just...keep it down so daddy don't hear, ok?" Maggie's voice interrupted. Beth sprang up and hugged her sister excitedly, showing her the gorgeous ring on her finger before practically shoving her out of the barn and closing the doors. Daryl had barely gotten his ground back under him when Beth was back in his arms, their lips meeting hungrily. After a while, their kisses died down, both remembering their promise to wait until their wedding night.

"I'm so excited, Daryl," Beth whispered between one of their kisses. "Beth Dixon...I love it...my future husband. I like the sound of that. Husband."

"Wife. I love that too. My wife."

Four Months Later

"We are gathered here today to witness a truly beautiful love. It took a while but God drew these two back to each other again. Beth Greene and Daryl Dixon, it's about time." A chorus of laughter rose as Beth and Daryl held hands in the same spot he proposed. The barn was beautiful, with flowering trees on the property nearby. A simple, strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline hugged Beth's curves. The lace train laying behind her as Maggie subtly fixed where Beth's boots had creased the fabric before going back to her seat. Daryl stared at the woman in front of him, her hair flowing down her back in loose curls, a braid hidden somewhere in the curled depths (he'd be sure to find it tonight). Her makeup was light, in fact, he could barely tell she had any on.

Beth stared at her soon-to-be-husband. His hair on the longer side, (it's okay, she loved it that way) and his facial hair neatly trimmed (she told him he better not shave for their wedding). He was in slacks and a button up, and his boots as clean as they could get them (she didn't frankly care but he did). She looked briefly around their small wedding, held at the entrance of the barn. Her father and sister sitting beside Glenn (who held their newborn son) and Rick. Merle was there, of course, though he was dressed up and actually looked nice for their wedding. He had really put some effort into his appearance for the day, which amused Beth and surprised Daryl.

"Beth?"

"Huh, oh, yes, yes, of course. I'm just...so shocked and excited that today is finally here. I never thought I'd marry my best friend...sorry, please continue."

"Daryl, is Autumn with you?" Beth hollered out the farmhouse screen door, her eyes finding Daryl near the barn. The hunter lifted a two year old girl with brown curls onto his shoulders and Beth's heart melted. She walked back into the kitchen and resumed Maggie with preparing dinner.

"Is Autumn Grace a lot like her daddy?" Maggie asked, her eyes drifting to her son as he ran through the room and out the back screen door, "cuz he's just like Glenn…" Beth laughed, and shook her head.

"I think she's equal parts of both of our personalities...but she's perfect regardless." Maggie lifted her glass of milk, her hands rubbing her large belly.

"Congrats on three years of marriage and a beautiful little girl. Hope there's another one cooking in there soon," Maggie teased and toasted the blonde, who laughed.

"Thank you, and there is. A healthy boy," Beth pulled her flowy blouse tight to reveal a bump that had been hidden and tapped her glass to Maggie's. She laughed as her sister's face brightened even more and her arms flung around her, milk spilling to the floor. Her eyes met Daryl's as he came walking into the house with their daughter, a sly smile on his face as Maggie walked as quickly as her nine-month belly could allow her to hug her brother-in-law.

"I love you," Beth mouthed to Daryl, her hand going to her own stomach as her ring sparkled in the kitchen light.

The End.

Thank you for following, reviewing, and showering me in love over the years. I apologize that this story took so long to finish...but here it is! I'm finally done!
