Hello there!
Well ain't you all sweet for pressing the "Next" button! You're really making me happy ^^ So what did you think about April and Casey having a son named Leo? Was it unfitting? Or rather sweet? Would you do something like that to honor the memory of a loved on? Please tell!
Previous Readers, I know the previous fourth chapter was longer, but I thought it was good to stop here. I am not good with fighting scenes! When I read the previous fourth chapter I didn't understand anything at all what was going on... I am totally amazed if any of you did! It was so confusing! And I wrote that! Wow you must be good if you did! Anyway.. I tried to make it more clearer. Hope I succeeded.
So... Please enjoy the chapter! ^^
A Great Lost
Chapter 4: The Fake Elite
I stood frozen like a statue as my eyes watched the figure standing on the building next to mine. The shadows had the figure drowned in black, so I could only see that someone was standing there. But it was not the figure itself that made me froze, no it was the line of the familiar hat and cloak that swayed with the wind. It made me think of the hats the Elite used to have. It couldn't be, could it? No, we killed the four of them three years ago and Karai took the remaining Foot with her when she left New York, just after. It had been quiet for three years. They couldn't be back!
I had to get to the bottom of that later cause now I had to get ready for the first attack. The cold spring wind was giving me an intense feeling, a feeling I had not felt in a very long time. Somehow it felt familiar, good and stimulating.
Focusing on the fight to come, I grabbed my beloved sais and flipped them into my hands as I took a defensive position. The fake elite ninja jumped off the tall building and came crashing down. In the air he pulled out two katanas and flipped them in the hands as he landed silently, almost graceful on the roof, telling me that this one was a bit more skilled than the old ones had been.
Probably starring at me underneath that ugly straw hat of his, he rose up to a straight stand. The red cloak concealed his form and the hat his head. Changing the grip of the swords, he pushed 'imself into a charge. Flipping my own weapons into a fighting position, I charged at 'im as well. It didn't even take a second before our weapons collided. First it became a muscle contest, if you could call it that. The one that had the strongest muscles in his arms would be the winner and have the upper hand. We both kept pushing, our faces inches from each other, but still his face was hidden underneath the usual mask, though in his case black instead of red, which covered half the Elite's faces and the shadow the hat drowned his eyes. I had to admit, this one was good at keeping his appearance in the shadows.
It didn't take that long until I realized that I was the stronger one. Gaining the upper hand, I made the sai in my right hand, lock our weapons together and used the left one in a try to get his hat off of his head so that I could see his face."Who're ya?" I demanded.
Before I could even touch the hat, he foreseen what I was gonna do and separated his swords which released the lock and made a back flip. Retrieving my own balance, I gritted my teeth together in a frown. Hell I had been so close. Instead of answering my question, the fake Elite put up a finger and hand gestured a no-no.
"Why ya-" Realizing that he was mocking me, I charged at 'im again with gritted teeth.
He blocked it and again we were in a power struggle. He put more pressure into the push like he was testing me. Falling for it, I pressed even harder and my sais began to slide closer to the handle of the blades. Which I guessed he noticed as well because he leaned the edge of the swords against my shoulders.
The metal felt cold against my skin. Turning to look at the shadow where his eyes would be, it seemed like he was making sure that I knew what he was about to do and was waiting for me to do something about it. Within a millisecond I had come up with a plan to avoid having my shoulders sliced and then he decided to cut right into my flesh, pressing hard so it would dig in deeper. Gritting my teeth in pain, it felt like he intended to cut right into the bone. Blood came out of the wound and traveled down his blades. I pushed both katanas away and kick 'im in his abdomen. He stumbled back a few steps, but recovered too quickly for my liking.
He came rushing towards me and I flipped my sais into a defensive position and blocked his first blow with one sai and then the next one with the other. It didn't take long until it became like a fluently dance. It felt a bit awkward, my body was following the moves on its own like it was familiar with it. Every step and every movement, my body just went with it.
My opponent didn't give me much time to think about it as he pushed me backwards until I came dangerously close to the edge of the roof. My eyes dropped down to the alley underneath me. The light from a bypassing car lightened up the alleyway for just a second, but gave me enough time to realize that if I fell, I would be falling to my death.
Turning my head back, he stroke at me again but I counted on it. After blocking the swords, I pushed them back and flipped over and behind 'im. I fell into a roll to gain some distance. He turned around, surprised, if I could read his movement correctly.
He put his katanas together and made a few clang noises. First I didn't get what the hell he was doing, then I realized that he was applauding me. Feeling like I was on the bad side of a joke, I lost the little cool I had. Charging 'im, I aimed for piercing my sai into his body.
Like he was anticipating it, he easily dodged and reflected my potential hits. Feeling the anger threatening to take the complete control of my actions, it subdued a little once I was able to lock our weapons together once again. I forced the katanas down with all my strength, intending to break the blades in half. Leaning away from me and dragging his katanas back with 'im so that the tip of the blades was against my sais, he suddenly leaned towards me again. The sound of metal against metal shrieked loudly in the air. Then he began to twirl our arms in small movements so that the blade of his katanas moved up against my arms and forcing my hands to lose the grip of my weapons. The feeling of cold metal once again against my sore arms felt good. I heard my beloved weapons hit the ground, my eyes fell down on my hands like my brain had to see for itself they were no longer there. My eyes moved up to my arms to see them holding a snake grip against his two swords. I couldn't for the life of me understand how he had managed that, but the thought was lost to me as he retrieved his weapons in a quick back pull, slicing my arms open in a long line that curled from my arm pit to the top of my hand.
Shocked by the pain and the grip, he didn't give me any time to recover from it before he turned in a quick spin and kick me in the stomach and sent me flying over the edge.
My arms hurt so badly I wasn't sure if they even had the strength to grab the railing on the fire escape. I was falling to my death. And why should I fight it? Wasn't it what I wanted all along? To right the mistake of me living? Don and Mikey would be better off without me. All I did was hurting them and bring them down. And Masta Splinter, surly he wouldn't care, he had lost his golden boy already. So why would he care if I died?
"You'll take care of them for me, won't ya?"
My eyes shut wide open and I grabbed a hold of the nearest window panel. His voice had sounded so close that I almost thought that he had been right next to me. That's right, I had promised 'im to take care of them. Gaining the strength to pull myself up, I tried to reached for the fire escape to my right. From behind me, I heard a few swinging sounds of what I recognized as shurikens flying through the air. Before I was able to let go of the window panel, something sharp pierced into my left shoulder. As a reflex, I let go of the panel and almost lost the grip of the fire escape as well.
"Fuck!" I cursed and grabbed the railing with my other hand and pushed myself up. I pulled the star out from my shoulder before I jumped back up on the roof.
With only a shuriken as a weapon, I had to come up with a new strategy. My sais laid scattered behind 'im and I didn't think he would let me get to them that easily. But like he was reading my mind, he step to the side and motioned with one katana that I had a free pass to get them. Who the hell did this guy think he is? He was really pissing me off and I was sure that was his goal. Well, he was succeeding.
My hands clenched into fists. Not about to fall for whatever trap he had planned, I ran towards 'im. I threw the star right at 'im. He had to turn his upper body to dodge it and then I tackled his side. I landed on top of 'im and raised my fist to knock it into his head, but he managed to kick me away before I could hit 'im again or succeed in making his hat fall off. Luckily I landed right next to my sais and quickly gathered them before he charged at me, cutting in the air as he came closer. Dodging and deflecting his hits, he spun to my side. I blocked his try in cutting my side open and he kicked me with an amazing strength. I fell down on my right side and barley managed to roll away as his katanas slam into the concrete.
I had to admit, the fake Elite had some really good skills. Both fast and strong at the same time. He had some of the real Elites' fighting techniques, mixed with Karais', but most of the technique was coming from somewhere else, but I wasn't sure from where. It did seem a bit familiar, though.
Both of us rose up to a straight stand at the same time. He still had his head turned down to where I had been way to close in dying. I couldn't figure this one out. In one second he seemed to just test me, with no intention what so ever to actual kill me. Then in the other second he wanted me butchered.
Not waiting for 'im to mock me again, I quickly walked up to his side and plunged my sai through his upper arm. Expecting 'im to react in some kind of way like screaming in pain, flinch and get away or just anything. He turned his head to look at the weapon that had plunged through his arm and then tilting his head up at me like it was nothing.
To preoccupied with being stunned from his lack of reaction and less than a millisecond glimpse of his eye, I didn't see 'im move his right arm and when he cut it deep against my side. Screaming in pain, I let go of my sai I had in his arm and jumped away, bringing some distance between us with a hunched back and my hand up against the new found wound.
The moon disappeared behind the clouds, which results in that it was harder to see the fake Elite in the darker shadows he insisted to keep to. I was too busy in avoid the swinging of his katanas, that I did not see the second kick to my midsection coming. Taking the fall on my hands, I pushed myself back up on my feet again and right away he was on me with the strikes. Still with my sai in his arm, he cut at me like it didn't even bother 'im. Blocking the swords the best I could with just one sai, he managed to deliver more gashes on my already thorn up arms. I had a hard time seeing the color of my skin because of all the blood.
Grabbing his arm with my free hand, I plunged my other sai into his thigh. Not expecting any reaction from 'im this time around, I let go of his arm and grabbed a hold of my sai stuck which was still in his arm. I used them as I lifted myself up quickly and placed both of my feet against his abdomen and pulled out my weapons as I kicked 'im to the ground. Falling back on my feet, I twisted the sais to cleaned them from the blood as I watched the fake Elite stand up. He used his katanas for support as he stood, and I hoped it was a sign of 'im getting tired.
I was exhausted. The late night with barley a few hours sleep, the episodes, a late party and a night that ended with a fight with my brothers. And let's not forget the blood that dripped from my arms which had probably paint the whole roof by now.
I watched 'im stand up straight. He turned to me and I prepared myself for his next attack. He swung his katanas as he took his stance and then he charged. I charged at 'im as well and then I heard a faint whistle and the fake Elite just came to a full stop. Confused I stopped and turned my eyes around in a try to find where it had come from. Another whistle, but with a different tone, the Elite sheathed his katanas and took a bow at me. Then he turned quickly and took a leap to the building he first came from.
Feeling the exhaustion, my knees buckled and I fell to the concrete. Knowing that he was still standing on the other building, I tried to keep myself focused on 'im. It was a bit hard to do so, my brain was registering the pain and exhaustion and probably the blood lost as well. I was feeling myself slowly slipping into unconsciousness. I was so damned tired. I was sure he was looking at me, mocking me. He unsheathed one katana and pointed it at me. I had no idea what he wanted to tell me with that, but I was sure it was something he wanted to be said. My eyelids began to flip and my vision blurry. Another whistle went through the air, now more intense.
"Raph!"
Snapping my eyes wide open, I felt the alarms in my head scream to move. Leaping to the side, a katana pierced my spot. Turning my gaze up at the building, I noticed that the fake Elite was gone. Searching my surroundings, I concluded that he was gone. I stood up with a sway and put my sais back in my belt. The pain went through my arms as I did so. I had to get home before I fell unconscious.
Turning to the katana, I eyed it a few seconds before I walked up to it and pulled it out. My hand screamed at the familiarity of it. The moon came through the clouds and in the light I recognized it all too well. Too many emotions welled up inside and I didn't understand which one of them it was that I should concentrate on. Should I be happy for having it back? Relived that it was no longer lost? Angry that the Foot had used it? Hate because it brought back the memories? Confused at why the Elite had thrown it at me?
Turning it in my hands, my eyes examined it to every little detail. The curved, slender, single edged blade in all its glory. After three long years, it was back, though we could never reunite it with its master again, we could at least reunite it with its twin. The last time I had seen it, was when Leo had pierced it into Shredder's body, right before both of them had fallen over the edge. Was this some kind of warning?
What does it mean?! WHAT?! O.o
So.. yeah... I will keep it short... You probably rather want me to begin write the next chapter than writing here... Sooooo, please review and tell me what it happening with you. Anything good happened to you today? ^^
