A warm hand trailed softly up and across her shoulders.
Leia stirred, only half asleep and turned slowly to face the solid weight which had settled beside her.
"Hey." she whispered, smiling sleepily at her husband in the dark. "You're later than I thought you would be."
"Yeah," he dropped a lingering kiss on her shoulder before tucking the blankets more solidly around her; nesting her into their bed the way he knew she liked to be. "I was talking to Wedge."
"How is he?" she rolled completely onto her back, hair trailing behind her across the pillow.
"Conflicted. But a brand new baby will do that to you." he chuckled, an inside joke of some sort. She squinted at him, confused and repeated his statement quietly.
"He's standing on the line between wanting to drive away any threat to his family and never wanting to leave home again. It's hard. I've been there."
She made a sound at the back of her throat, halfway between agreement and a sigh as he placed an arm on either side of her shoulders.
"I would have done it."
"What?" She shifted beneath him, more awake now.
"Kept you away from all of it. We could have stayed on the Falcon. The kids, me, you - pregnant."
"The whole time? We'd run out of bunk space pretty quick." she teased before becoming serious. "We could still do it." she whispered.
Han pulled back away from her.
"What are you saying?"
