"Howdy Alvin!'.
"Uh, howdy?".
"Are you reading again?".
"No, just staring into this book.".
He laughed a bit.
"So you finished the history book right?".
"Yeah.".
"So does that mean you'll play with us more often?".
"Maybe.".
"Maybe? You never play with us.".
"Ok, what are you doing?".
"We are making laurels out of the flowers outside.".
"And why are you making laurels out of the flowers outside.".
"For fun.".
"And you want me to come?".
"Yes.".
"Alright, let's go.".
"Really?".
"No.".
"What!".
"I'm just kidding come on.".
One of the main reasons Alvin didn't go outside was because to get outside, you would have to solve a series of puzzles. By now, he had memorized how to solve them, but they were so repetitive that it was annoying to go through them every time, though the others didn't seem to mind. They made it outside. Chara and Frisk were both sitting away from each other. Asriel sat next to frisk, he went to accompany Chara
"Greetings.".
"Do any of you just say hello?". (Like, seriously)
She laughed.
"I'm sure Frisk would.".
He picked a bunch of flowers and began shaping them into a laurel.
"So what brings you out here?".
"Asriel.".
"Azzy managed to talk you into coming out here.".
"You say that as if it was an impossible feat.".
"The last time you came outside with us was two days ago, and you were only out for two minutes.".
"Well excuse me for not wanting to eat flowers.".
Their last playdate consisted of a... flower eating contest. Frisk won, which was suprising, Asriel being a goat and all.
"That's fair.".
Have you ever wondered what it's like on the surface?".
"Well thast was sudden. Sometimes I wonder but I'm content with being down here.".
"Hm.".
"What?".
"Nothing.".
"How about you? Do you ever think about going back to the surface?".
"Yes, which is why I've decided I will go back one day.".
"And how do you plan on doing that?".
"Well, I was reading-".
"As always.".
"Anyways, I was reading, and found an article about other humans in the underground.".
"Other humans? That can't be right, mother told us there were no other humans down here.".
"History books don't lie.".
"Well, it's a history book, so it must be ancient. Those humans are probably long gone.".
"They're not. I asked Toriel and she told me the book is almost new.".
"A history book? New? No no no that can't be right.".
"Why are you having so much trouble accepting this?".
"But why? Why would mother lie to us?".
"To protect you.".
"Huh?".
"I've read books that portray deadly beasts that inhabit the underground whom feast on human flesh. Those stories are obviously exaggerated, but they've got to be based on something.".
"But if other humans are in the underground, why hasn't he-".
She trailed off the end of that sentence.
"Why hasn't who done what?".
"Nothing.".
"I'm going to find the other humans.".
"You're going to do what? Didn't you just say it was dangerous outside the ruins?".
"The others are able to survive out there, so why can't I?".
"Why do you want yo find the oyher humans anyways?".
"If you had an opportunity to go back to the surface, even if only temporarily, would you take it?".
"I, um... maybe.".
"Finding the other humans and breaking the barrier would give everyone an opportunity to go to the surface, permanently.".
"But to break the barrier, you'll have to sacrifice the seven souls.".
"Maybe you don't have to. If a monster and a human soul can safely pass through the barrier, then so should seven human souls, while at the same time brraking the barrier.".
"That actually sounds like a solid theory but, how are you going to find the other humans?".
"That's the part I haven't figured out. I'm sure some of the books here can give me a clue as to where to start looking, but in the meantime, I'm not going to be putting my plan into action.".
He finished making his flower laurel, place it on Chara's head and stood up.
"I've already told Toriel, you should tell the others, I don't like explaining things twice.".
He walked back towards the ruins' entrance to begin his search for clues.
